Great doctors and the staff are so kind and helpful, both to the kids and adults... feels like family and they answer all my concerns.

The 5* is for Dr. Patel. Dr. Patel is wonderful, GUARANTEED you'll like her nature & her performance. But the location is horrible in the parking, today I dropped my appointment because of that !, I'll never go again unless someone is dropping me off there, but driving myself and finding a parking there is impossible!

HORRIBLE DOCTORS!!!!!! HORRIBLE STAFF!!!!!! I called to reschedule my appointment for my newborn baby and was informed that I was not on the schedule to be seen that day even though I had made the appointment the day before. After being placed on hold a second staff member gets on the line and says, "The doctor said if you are not here today by 1:00 then social services will be called". I informed her that I would schedule with another facility and filed a complaint with VHC. After filing the complaint, Social services came to my home address day later. After less than 15 minutes the case was closed. The staff is rude and talks to potential patients in very condescending tones. Take your business elsewhere. I did

I have been coming here for over 10 years. I just adore Dr. Patel! She has the best personality for a doctor: wise, kind, puts you at ease, and more. I am always amazed how quickly she assesses my vision. In the past, with other doctors/places the eye exam part always caused me so much stress! Also, I really like the women in the reception area. They always are very kind and compassionate (today I needed an appointment for an eye infection and they let me come right over!).

If I could I would give it 0 stars I would. I made an appointment two weeks in advance for my child at 8am. I show up and they have no appointment. Then they say they will see us in between patients because they made a mistake. I ask for a time estimate. They say they cannot give an estimate. I explain I have to work and so if they have an idea whether it could be an hour or 4 hours that would be helpful. They say giving an estimate is impossible. So now I have wasted my entire morning because of their incompetence, and I had to simply leave because I had to be at work by a certain time and they couldn’t even give me an idea.

Love the emergency same day service option. Dr. Patel is brilliant and kind.

By far the best eye doctor I've visited. Incredibly caring, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I had a rather rare eye infection and Dr. Patel quickly identified the issue and began treatment. Their office is lovely, staff helpful, and their location offers a number of specialists in the building to provide comprehensive treatment, if needed. I can not recommend the office and Dr. Patel highly enough!

Possibly the worst medical experience I've ever had. The appt process wasn't very friendly to begin with and it's not like they smile or say hello when you arrive on time or anything like that, or greet you as a "new customer", but it was the treatment by Dr. Fuchs and her colleague that cinched it. No explanations or description of what was going to happen occurred. After two sets of eye tests, including one where Dr Fuchs touched the area around my eyes without telling me beforehand (this is after I've said I've nervous about eye exams!), and because I am very sensitive to having someone poke around my eyes, Dr Fuchs offered to use the pressure meter they use on babies. I said that was a good idea. When she went to get it she couldn't get it to work, fumbling with her fingers all over it. She then handed me off to a colleague without explanation who then proceeded to attempt to put eye drops in my eyes. I said whoa, what's this all about. She then basically said that unless I agreed to have my eyes dilated right then and there, they weren't going to write up my eyeglass prescription and I "didn't have to pay." When I pointed out that the "baby eye pressure device was broken" she said that "that test didn't matter" and repeated that Dr Fuchs "wouldn't see me again unless I had my eyes dilated." I said I would re-schedule for the eye dilation exam as my anxiety level was increasing but after realizing I was being hurried and bullied into tests I did not understand, I left anyway without scheduling another visit. I am now looking for an eye doctor who has taken patient communication courses and whose has staff who don't bully.

Long waiting hours and limited ophthalmologist’s availability. Patient will be called by tech after 1.5 to 2 hours of wait then you will wait for another 30 minutes for the patient to be seen by ophthalmologist. Patient will be seen only less than 10 minutes by ophthalmologist (consistent for 2-3 visits for 7 years!) They rescheduled our appointment 5x since October (almost 4 months now) because ophthalmologist had to cancel. Not good for patient who is a student and patient’s parents are healthcare providers who cannot cancel their own patients’ appointments. Coordinating student’s and parents’ schedule are very challenging and their staff could not understand. We are seeing another ophthalmologist closer and available everyday...

Started with my mother 25 years ago and I am still going. Excellent doctor. Had cataract surgeries with Dr Gaspar and it was a good experience - no problems ever. I have recommended and my friend agree.

Love Dr. Patel but the office staff and scheduling are the worst I have ever experienced. They never answer the phone and leaving a message for someone to call back is a total waste of time. I called for over a month and left a message at least 3 times a week and no one ever bother to even acknowledge. I don't know how these people stay in business if you can't get through to them....

This review is purely a comment on this practice's business and administrative procedures. This specifically pertains to Arlington Eye Center and the Pediatric services provided by Melissa Kerns and her staff. I have been bringing my daughter in for 1.5 years (she's only 2) for just basic examinations. We did sign a waiver 1.5 years ago that if certain procedures were performed that were not covered by insurance, we would pay. The last time I took my daughter, the physician did a refraction to check her prescription. My daughter doesn't wear glasses. She never has. And no prescription was given. Whether a refraction was necessary or not, I am not medically trained to determine. The physician did the refraction without explanation of the cost, coverage, or necessity. I'm not judging the physician necessarily because she's a professional but also an employee. She does what she is trained to do. However the practice wanted to bill me after the fact ($55) without any explanation during the course of the entire hour we were there in the office during which they could have explained what they needed to do. They simply stuck a bill in my face, and said, please pay. My good friend is an opthamologist and has said that he would only charge for a refraction if he was actually giving a prescription. That's the point of a refraction. If there's no "product" given to the patient, he doesn't in good conscience feel it is his right to charge for something that the patient isn't going to take away. To say nothing of that fact, that not once during my daughters visit, were we told that there would be a charge over and above our co-pay. This is simply poor customer service, poor management, and poor medicine. Businesses that are too lazy to inform their customers (patients) simply do not deserve my money or loyalty.
