I made an eye appointment for my daughter on April 17 and at that time answered all the questions that I was asked about her insurance and was told that they accept her insurance. Then, 30 days later at 4pm the day before her appointment Kaitlyn calls me and tell me that they don't take her insurance and I was going to have to pay $130 to get my daughter seen. They blamed the mistake on "a new girl" and that basically that they didn't care that they made a mistake and that they waited 30 days to tell me knowing there's a long wait at any good vision office. I told them that it was wrong of them to tell me that they took her insurance when they didn't and to wait 30 days to call me. Her response was it will be $130 if you want her seen tomorrow. I get that new people make mistakes but if you're going to put someone that is untrained and unprepared on the phone to talk to patients you had better be verifying what she's doing or be prepared to compensate for their mistakes. Screwing over and lying to patients is just wrong and they don't care.

I originally had a hard time matching their hours working an hour away near DC. I tried to call early to let them know I was going to be late on their longest hour day Thursday but it sent me to voice mail. After I picked up my glasses I found out that they can arrange for someone to wait for you or deliver it to you somehow. The doctors are friendly and know what they are doing; I was not a huge fan of waiting about 10 minutes to talk to one of the eye wear consultants, but they do know what they are doing with insurance coverage and style. I did have to lose two hours of work to pick up my glasses because of the hours. Hopefully next time I can get it arranged to have someone wait for me next time.

Very thankful to have come across Advanced Eye Care and Dr. McConkey. She is extremely knowledgeable and the best around! Treated my 19 year old daughter like a child and the eye doctor asked my daughter if she wanted to call her mom?? No, she just wanted new frames and the eye doctor tried to force her to get contacts she didn’t want. You lost 3 long time customers.
