They did cataract surgery for my mom. There were several problems. 1. Bad anesthesia. For the first eye, they sedated her, but she woke up during surgery. Second time, they did not sedate her, and she felt pain during surgery. They made the anesthetic drops in the eye more the half of hour before surgery. 2. They damaged her vein with IV. 3. The nurses are rude. Every nurse is trained to answer only few questions. If you ask wrong nurse a wrong question, she will get mad at you. The patients are treated as details on an conveyor line.

My name is Jackie Majors and I have been a patient at Coastal Eye Care for cataracts in each eye. After being counseled on options for implants and being told the option I chose was not covered by insurance the employee spent time explaining positives and negatives of each option. She was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Having had the surgery in each eye and visiting the office for pre-op, surgery and two follow up appointments, for each eye , I found Dr. Piazza and his staff to be more than competent and professional. I couldn't be more pleased with my experience at this facility and the outcome from the surgery. My vision is 20/20 and I no longer wear glasses. What more could anyone expect?

The entire experience was excellent. I was referred to Dr. Piazza from Dr. Amy Marnecheck of Belfast because I wanted to explore various lens replacement options for cataract surgery. I couldn't have asked for better service, from the office staff, to the eye care technicians, to Dr. Piazza's full explanation of my options and why they would or wouldn't be good for me. Everyone was friendly and courteous, professional, and efficient. The instructions for pre-op and post-op care were precise and easy to understand. The surgical procedure went smoothly with perfect results. I would recommend Coastal Eye Care to everyone, knowing they have the latest medical facilities and procedures and a totally caring professional staff.

0 friends 1 review 5.0 star rating 2/2/2017 My experience with Coastal Eye Care was very positive! I didn't wait long before the exam began with the tech, who was very efficient! The doctor then came in and answered all of my questions. I was there strictly for a new lens prescription, but decided to discuss the problem of an old stye that had since hardened and remained as a large lump on my eyelid. The doctor thoroughly investigated it and agreed with me that removal of the lump (he defined it as a hordeolum) would be a good idea. I met with the friendly surgery coordinator, and it seems that the billing office must have been working simultaneously on my case, because someone suddenly appeared with the estimate of how much the excision would cost. I felt like I was in and out of my exam in no time! The surgery coordinator was able to get my excision scheduled for the very next week, and I again marveled at the professionalism, efficiency, and friendliness of every staff member I encountered! I had expected to be quite bruised and sore as a result of my procedure but due to the surgeon's skill, I needed only one dose of Tylenol and haven't felt any discomfort since! I would definitely refer my friends to Coastal Eye Care - in fact, I already have!

Failed to tell me my visit wasn't covered until after it was done. I was told it would either be covered or a $25 copay, nope...had to pay in full $214. Also was told I would be emailed my Rx and be able to access the patient portal... Did NOT get an email, and there is no patient portal link on the webpage. To say I'm dissapointed is an understatement!
