Dr Clifton was nice during exam
However my trial pair of contacts tore the first day I tried at home. I was moving and she would not send me the trial contact replacement. I was pressured to purchase $500 of contacts when I had only had them for a day. Her staff was very rigid an inflexible. I also purchased lenses for an old pair of glasses and was extremely surprised at what she charged for them $159 for 2 lenses
I asked for my contact lense prescription as by that time I had checked them out online and I could pay less than 4/5ths of what she wanted to charge me
She refused to give me my contact lens prescription
I had to insist upon a refund as I didn't feel comfortable spending that kind of money when I am unsure whether I can really wear them
My eyeglasses came in went to pick them up I happened to be on phone and was trying to end conversation. The optician handed me my glass, refund, and no prescription
By Law optometrists are Required to hand your script to you at the end of the exam
I asked for it (Rx) to be emailed. Upon examination Dr Clifton had not signed it. This was not a simple error, it was deliberate act
When I called back to request a 'proper ' prescription be emailed me
Dr Clifton got on the line, raised her voice, accused me of cussing out her employees, and hung up on me
I did not use any language of the sort with any of her employees. I was wrongfully accused
It took me calling my insurance company to have them withhold payment since the law was being broken. After the insurance company called, they were told she was providing both eyeglass and contact prescriptions. I received an eyeglass prescription.
Despite cannot withhold your prescription after an eye exam. They also cannot withhold it because you have decided to purchase the product elsewhere
I have filed a complaint with the FTC and will also file with the BBB, state attorney general, and state board of optometrists.
