The wait time is too long. I arrive 15 minutes early and sit in the waiting room for 30 minutes past my appointment time before being called back. The temperature in the office is cold and only makes the visit that much more uncomfortable. Why can’t docs be on time? Over-scheduling, I don’t know. If I had missed the appointment I would have been charged. Yet they are inconsiderate of their patients time. I do feel that I get a thorough exam, but I could get that elsewhere.

I have been nervous about getting my cataracts treated, I feel a lot better putting myself into the care of this team. Update: I have had cataract surgery in both eyes. I couldn't ask for a better experience. Everyone was always concerned about my comfort and progress. Recovery was amazingly quick. What is most important, I can see again! You know you have a problem but don't realize how blind you had become until after the surgery. I am thankful I won't have to have it done again but if I did it would be Dr. Burns and his wonderful staff.

Friendly staff... especially Lynn who was very helpful , although the technician who did the refraction exam seemed in a hurry as did Dr. Burns as well... when I told him I had been experiencing cloudy vision he showed very little concern and said that it was " probably " dry eye and offered nothing more than wetting drops... although I'm sure the eyeglass and contact prescription I received are fine I could have gotten the same service at Visionworks or LensCrafters...

My background: I went to Dr. Burns’ practice for several years after my previous doctor retired. He happened to be an ophthalmologist rather than an optometrist, so I decided to stick to an ophthalmologist, and I was referred to Dr. Burns. I do not have any serious eye issues/illnesses, but I do have a difficult prescription. My review: Burns may be skilled (or not) at eye surgery; I have no way of knowing. What I do know is that I would urge anyone in need of just a prescription for glasses or contacts to steer clear of his practice. At each visit, I saw Dr. Burns for no more than a minute or two while he looked over the general health of my eye. That’s it. The rest of the exam (read: the prescription) was done by assistants/flunkies who clearly do not have enough training to handle a difficult prescription—anything more than slight near/ farsightedness. My prescription was NOT CORRECT ONCE. (I have been wearing glasses since I was five, and I know full-well that it takes the brain time to adjust to a new prescription. This is not that. An incorrect prescription for my astigmatism makes walking across the floor, to me, look like walking down a mountain.) Each time I had to go back and press for a new exam and better prescription. Usually, then, I’d get a scrip that was close enough to accurate. Eventually, sick of this miserable experience, I requested my records and found a better practice where the optometrist—not an assistant—gets the prescription right in one sitting. Also, Burns’ practice schedules so many patients in a day that the staff was always running behind schedule, and it took a long time for them to get me my records. And the drops they use to dilate pupils are very strong, so if you do decide to go to Dr. Burns, you will want to demand reversing drops at the conclusion of your visit. The joking moral: All I can say is that I wish I’d starting watching M*A*S*H reruns a few years earlier. That show was prescient; I do not want Frank Burns in charge of my care. TL;DR: Do not go to Dr. Burns for a glasses prescription—*maybe* for something more complicated.

They used to be a good practice but now they run you through like on a conveyor belt of people. Consider yourself lucky if you spend more than 2 minutes with Dr. Burns but with his manner lately you probably wouldn’t want to anyway. They dilate your eyes EVERY time so Dr. burns can run you through quicker. If they didn’t dilate your eyes, then he would have to spend more time with you checking your eyes. Also, for those 2 drops and 5 seconds or less to put them in your eyes, you are charged $50 that you must pay personally since insurance won’t cover since the design is for making it easier for Dr. Burns to run you through quickly. This means the patient is visually impaired for several hours not being able to be in the sun and $50 lighter in the wallet. I wonder how much Dr. Burns pays for that whole bottle that he charges $25 a drop effectively?!?

Dr. Burns and his staff are wonderful. I was dealing with a stye that had gotten huge and infected. I had gone to my regular doctor but the eye ointment and hot compress weren't working. I looked on the internet for someone in my desperation. I'm so glad I found them. They squeezed me in that day. Were all really nice. He gave me an antibiotic and new eye drops and it's going away. Also squeezed me in for the following week to come back to see him.I go tomorrow. He's a life saver. It's was so painful and ugly I didn't want yo leave the house. I'm super thankful.

My first visit. I had no knowledge of what to expect since I had gone on recommendation of an acquaintance who had been. I also use a medical doctor for my eyes and was totally satisfied. The efficiency at every step was professional and I felt expertise was above some I had seen. Dr. Burns was very competent in everything he did. Dr. Burns gave excellent service to my wife. This is a practice that is professionally run, friendly and patient-centered. My wife had glaucoma and advanced cataracts in both eyes which had been misdiagonsed by other eye doctors. When we first visited Dr Burns practice, my wife had lost 85 % of her sight in one eye and 50% in the other eye. After the surgeries, we received calls from his practice to check on how she was doing. The post surgery follow-ups were also professionally handled. The end result was a remarkably improved eyesight with low eye pressures . Dr Burns came highly recommended by a family member. And we are highly satisfied with the high level of professional care we received. We highly recommend his services to any person in need of eye surgery and treatment.

Very friendly and helpful staff that take time to answer any and all questions. Dr. Burns takes time to explain everything clearly to you, is very thorough, and also answers all questions. I felt like I was in very good hands and could put my full trust that he will do what is best for me as a patient. Probably the best doctor/staff experience I have ever had and I have had plenty in my lifetime. An overall excellent experience.
