My wife and I chose to have LASIK done together. The initial consult was very thorough and calming as they answered questions and concerns we had about the “unknown”. The procedure was quick and discomfort or pain was minimal. The doctors there obviously have a lot of experience as this procedure went seamlessly, quickly and efficiently. Our vision was crystal clear that same afternoon with the exception of the watery eyes from the drops. Two days later I would say this is life changing and encourage everyone to do it. The next day post op follow-up with my local Dr. went great, he said if he had not known, he wouldn’t have been able to even tell I had surgery the day before, the incision was so perfect. My wife’s doctor said the same. So happy we had this done and so happy we chose Commonwealth Eye Surgery. Just like they said, about 4 hours after the procedure the discomfort went away and we just kicked back and relaxed for a couple of days enjoying 20/20 vision (without glasses or contacts) for the first time in 30 years!

I do EXTENSIVE research when considering a medical procedure. Commonwealth and Dr Ferguson in particular were recommended by another Eye Surgeon regarding cataract surgery for my case having had a previous Lasik procedure in 2001 and the necessity for careful measurements accordingly. After a variety of tests and even some additional Retests to Accurately determine whether Laser cataract surgery is appropriate and which IOL is best suited for that eye. Not only am I impressed with the Concern for Accuracy but I'm also impressed with the Staff, The Protocols in place to assure Best Practices and Patient Satisfaction. COMMUNICATION is excellent. My experience was great. I received lasik here back in early 2013 at the age of 22. However, just be aware results are not always permanent. I was back to wearing glasses by the end of 2016 at the age of 26, about 3 and half years later. I still encourage people to look into getting corrective eye surgery and Commonwealth Eye Surgery is a great place. Friendly and professional, it’s just unfortunate my results didn’t last, but 5 years later and I still remember my entire experience and how great it was.

My initial LASIK procedure was very satisfactory (OS 20/20; OD 20/15). I did not have interaction face-to-face with the ophthalmologist until the day of the procedure. I would prefer such interaction in office prior to surgery. The office is dependent upon optometrist and technicians performing work up, eligibility, and post procedure exam. Again, I would prefer interaction with the ophthalmologist. Approximately 4-5 years after the procedure, vision worsened slightly for left eye-20/30. I return to the office for evaluation. Fairly impersonal. Did not see the ophthalmologist or even the same optometrist. After waiting two hours without being seen, I left. Two weeks later, I was seen in a reasonable amount of time. I got my answer, but the entire experience was not very satisfactory. Outside of the procedure, Dr. Ferguson is fairly hands-off. My procedure was 10 years ago. Perhaps things have changed.

Not a happy camper! My partners appointment was at 9:30 a.m. We arrived prior to fill out paper work, only to be told we would be here approximately 3 hours! That is something that should be stated when making the appointment NOT after arrival. We have an hour drive to and from this place. I'm not the patient, my partner is, but I still have to go to work at 2:00!

My package was fully explained in detail prior to surgery and so far there as been no cost that I was not told about. The staff is competent, friendly, cordial, and unhurried in their manner. The entire operation for cataracts has gone well twice now, for the right and left eye. The laser is a pricey add-on to what Medicare covers, but thus far, It has been worth every penny. I am so happy with the result. I did not know I was seeing the world through a yellow filter. I had Lasik done 15+ years ago. It feels like that all over again.

Mostly a great experience with a few issues . Both times I went to the office I did not like having to sign up with a kiosk screen . Neither time did I even see the kiosk and once I got to the desk I was told to walk back out to the entrance near the hall area to sign in . The day of my surgery and there was no one in line when I walked up to the receptionist . rather than take my name and have me sit down she made me walk back out by the hall to type my name in to kiosk. Coming from a smaller city it just seemed impersonal to me, and not the way I have conducted my business for many years . My doctor was switched for the surgery about a month ago. I never met the doctor performing the surgery until I was on my back preparing to go in . would have liked to have met and talked to him before hand, but realize things happen . The nurses and staff were all very friendly and went about their work in a quick and efficient way . I am less than 24 hours after my surgery, but everything seems to have gone well and I have no pain .

They answered all of my questions and explained each procedure before it was performed. They took extra care in the preparation, making sure the correct eye was being done. They have heard these questions before, but they are polite in listening and giving you an answer that doesn't make you feel dumb. The scheduling and check-in process was very smooth and all the staff was friendly. My surgery actually got rescheduled minutes before for because the laser could not be properly calibrated, which they do BETWEEN EACH PATIENT - something I never would have known to ask about - but they were able to reschedule it quickly and provided a healthy discount for the inconvenience. The procedure itself was very quick and well explained to me as it was happening. I am currently 4 days Post- op, I have experienced some blurriness, which is expected, but no pain, watery-ness, dry eye, light sensitivity... no discomfort really at all! I am thrilled so far with my results, and look forward to my sight continuing to improve!!!
