I've been going to Dr. Brammer for about 4 years, and I've been very pleased with her care. The reason for the 4 stars has nothing to do with her. It is the front desk staff. When I went to my appointment on February 14, the dark haired girl that checked me in acted like she would rather be anywhere else but there. She was very curt and acted like I was an interruption. Pam, the technician, was very sweet and very welcoming. I have never had any problems with my phone calls not being returned, but my husband tried to call multiple times for an appointment and no one returned his calls.

I love going to Heart of America Eye Care. Dr. Chang has been looking at my eyes for more than 15 years and she is exceptional. She has great bedside manner, makes me feel at ease, and goes above and beyond to find what works best for me. The front desk staff is always friendly, welcoming, and efficient. The selection of frames is excellent and the optical technicians are enthusiastic about getting me into the perfect frames. I only have good things to say about this place. I look forward to my eye exam every year, which is more than I can say about any other appointment!

The office staff, technicians and nurses are knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. I like the doctor(s) and the Optical shop staff very much. I went in to find some sports glasses. They didn't have the ones I wanted in stock so they said they would order them and they would be there in a week. I left my name and number. Today it is 3 weeks later. I called and they told me they would have to call me back because whoever I needed to speak to was with a customer. I said "are you sure they will call me back? That's why I'm calling currently, because they never called me." The lady I spoke with assured me they would be in trouble with her if they didn't. It is an hour and 39 minutes later with no call. I called back. No answer. This place is trying very hard to not get my money. In fact, they tried so hard that they succeeded. I will have to take my business elsewhere. I highly recommend trying to weld your own glasses out of coke bottles before giving them business that they don't deserve. If negative stars was an option, that's what they would receive. Fortunately for them, 1 star is the lowest the ranking scale goes. I'm not happy that I have to give them a star. Stars should be earned. They don't even deserve a participation ribbon.

I went to Heart of America Eyecare and saw Dr. Linda Brammer, O.D for dry eye on my left eye. Dr. Brammer examined my eyes and prescribed drops and to come back to see her which I did and my eyes were not any better she prescribed another drops and heat 3 times a day that also didn't work.. She recommended a 10 minute procedure that cost $600 and not covered by insuranceI I asked her if she can use a Punctal plug instead of the expensive procedure and she said absolutely NOT . I was desperate because my eyes were tearing all day long after the many eye drops I was using under her care. I paid her $600 for a procedure called LipiFlow thinking finally I'm going to get relief she prescribed more eyedrops anabiotic and continue heat and back in 2 weeks. My eyes go infected they were red and painful I went back and she took me off one medicine and prescribed another and be back again. Well after several visits my eye is now tearing all day and hurts all the time. I contacted her and someone from her office told me to find another provider and offered me $200 if I sign a paper that states I will not leave a review and go away. I've spent more than $200 on eye drops that my copay were $50.00. They are not going to do the right thing and I'm going to keep telling my story.

Have been going here for a very long time. After Dr. Simone left the practice I began seeing Dr. Brammer and she's been great. I would give 5 stars except for my recent experience with ordering contacts. I ordered a 6 month supply and chose to have them delivered to my home. They didn't arrive when I expected so I called the office to get the tracking number and spoke with Jessica, who gave me the UPS tracking number and said the contacts were delivered one day earlier. As I was out of contacts by then, I went up to the office to pick up some trials, called my apartment complex office, spoke with neighbors to look for the missing package, and nothing could be found. Spoke with Jessica again who said I needed to open up an investigation with UPS for the missing package so I did that. I also went ahead and ordered even more contacts since I needed them and it sounded like this investigation was going to take a while. Later that evening, the package of contacts shows up at my door from USPS, not UPS. Would have saved me a lot of trouble had I been given the correct tracking number in the first place! Arg.

It was years ago that I first had Dr. Brammer rescue me from an eye predicament, but as it was a distance to schlep to for me, I chose a practice closer to home. After a 'sour experience' from my cataract surgery elsewhere, I decided to return to Mid-America Eye Care and Dr. Brammer! She is so different from the opthomologist I ran from! She is compassionate, knowledgeable, and smiles!!! The office staff I find to be a nice blend of professional and friendly!! The last office was like a conveyor line in a factory! They were too quick with my eye measurements for one eye and the second cataract staff person was too slow making me doubt the abilities of both!!! I felt none of that factory experience here! I met with Dr. Edwards, too, who was equally pleasant to deal with. I'm back!! Forget the greater distance to travel!!

Heart of America put in my insurance file that I was not medically eligible for contacts so my insurance denied the claim they submitted for them. Despite many conversations, could not resolve with HOA and never received the contact prescription but billing department did an excellent job collecting.
