I am a retired Army Officer and have been working in Afghanistan supporting the global war on terror since my retirement about 10 years ago. The other day at Family Eye Care Center in Leavenworth Kansas was a great experience and was really my pleasure because of Kala Finney who did an amazing job that was probably the best customer service I have ever had. Kala was so detailed and made me feel like I could really count on what she was telling me. I came in to get my prescription changed as my eye sight is only getting worse as I am now all almost 53 years old. My ability to see is of utmost importance in my job in Afghanistan as I am involved in operations where I am sending helicopters, pilots and Afghan commandos into some very dangerous areas every day. I am responsible for every aspect of our operations from flight planning to conducting map reconnaissance to analyzing military intelligence in order to keep my crews as safe as possible while flying into insurgent held territory. My ability to see is everything and cannot do my job without the ability to see and see clearly, I needed Kala to offer me some options that would help me and she did. I was concerned about making adjustments to my current prescription and needed to know that I could count on receiving the new glasses on time and as promised. Kala took extra steps more than once to call Oakley to verify my concerns and she did this with zero hesitation and without any problem. She was happy to do this and I could tell. This is what customer severe is about..... it's about being able to read your customer and adjust your selling technique / demeanor appropriately, Kala did this and she did it incredibly well. I could go on and on about this experience but I am sure my point has been received. Bottom line is Kala helped me out more than she probably realized and the support she gave me meant way more than just selling another pair of glasses because the bigger picture is the importance of the application of the product that is so critical to supporting U.S. and Coalition Solders in the fight in Afghanistan...... Thanks Kala!! You are going to make a lot of money for someone someday, keep up the great work and the great attitude!! Thanks a million!! D.C.

Now I cancelled Jan appt with the. I love this place. 11/27/17 I receive a text from family eye doctors to tell me that Daniel eye glass we're ready for pick up. Text back and said thank you. Well not just a text but a phone call with message telling me again that my son glasses was ready for pick up. Well I got Daniel up there and I did not even go in with him. It's seem like a few minutes Daniel came out with glasses on. Turn back around to see if they could fix the slipping on the nose. They could not do that back to car after the 3 back in and out we got to go home. I will stay again I love this place.

This appointment was to pick up new glasses. The original delivery to Family Eye Care was not exactly the lens ordered and the technicians discovered it right away and reordered. They let me know and when I arrived the first time, everything was ready for me. We recently switched from another optometrist's office to Family EyeCare Center due to the convenience of the hours they are open (4 days of the week until 7pm and they are open on Saturdays until 2pm) and the location of their office. Dr. Kelly is amazing but the front desk is awfully unorganized. I made an appointment for my toddler the day prior, showed up and was told my appointment was an hour later. Fine. We ran errands, came back and waited 35 minutes, I asked when I would see a doctor and then they told me my appointment was set for 25 minutes from now. Three different people gave me three different times and had me and my 3 year old wait an extra 2 hours. Then we finally saw Dr. Kimberley Hackman. She was a nightmare of coldness. She doesn't have children and is not empathetic so do not take your child to see her! I work in healthcare and was shocked by her abruptness, almost rude patient report.

Dr. Ashley and the Family EyeCare/MVP staff are amazing. I was a post-concussion adult patient for visual therapy, and their services were immensely helpful. They are also AWESOME with kiddos, offer super friendly support, and I always had fun when I was there (even though it was hard work and sometimes made me feel crummy, due to the nature of the therapy). While I’m happy that my issues have been resolved, I am a little bummed that I don’t get to go hang out with Dr. Ashley anymore. Highly recommended for everything vision related. They also have a sweet collection of modern/cute frames. Most importantly, they are one of the few vision therapy locations that address the brain connection to vision issues, so if you are experiencing post concussive symptoms (headaches, light sensitivity, visual overload, etc.), go see Dr. Ashley today!
