I want to say that the Optometrists and staff were 99% amazing.. My major issue here is the 1% of staff that didn't inform me in Oct. 2018 that my frames came with absolutely NO WARRANTY whatsoever apparently... Claimed that it was because of my insurance and that I needed to pay an additional fee for insurance at the time of the initial appointment etc... Now this does not make sense to me for a couple reasons, 1) My vision insurance is through work and is , and is top notch, 2) I'm the type of person that if told this...would have bought the additional insurance, PERIOD.. My glasses, aka..being able to see is EVERYTHING to me for driving, work, etc... Now, the frames... So, my insurance covered I believe $150 for frames.. I liked a pair that were a bit more and paid the difference, no biggie, expected. However here I am 10 months later with a pair of glasses that snapped dead center while I was cleaning them and was told there is basically nothing they can do. AWESOME!! I came here as I heard amazing things, and as I mentioned I experienced that 99%, but this is really unacceptable. I have an appointment already with my old optometrist and that's where I will stay.

I started my eye care, as a child, with Dr Jensen's, father, in Fairfield, Iowa. As an adut, living in Iowa City, I was happy to know his son started his own eye care service in Iowa City. Our family entrusted his expertise and staff though the years. We moved to Arizona in 2005 for our retirement years but scheduled my yearly check with Dr Jensen during our summer visits to Iowa. I have been seeing Dr. Jensen since was a kid. I refuse to see anyone else when it comes to my eyes. The staff knows me and my quirks. They treat me and my family incredibly well. Any issues I have ever had have been dealt with quickly and to my satisfaction! I will never go anywhere else. I pay out of pocket to see them because they don't take my insurance and it is totally worth it to me.

The only negative is the glasses are pricey but they help you find something to fit your budget. I love the free baby eye testing that they do. Love Dr. Jensen and his staff. When I was on vacation recently, I had a torn retina. I called the office and they told me exactly what to do. The retina was fixed and we went on with our trip. When I got back, Dr. Jensen saw me to make sure all was still well. He takes as much time as you need. When I have gotten glasses, he makes sure they are exactly right and has even re-ordered a lens that just wasn't perfect. I highly recommend Jensen Eyecare Center. You won't regret it.

My opinion has gone down from recent interactions. Dr. Jensen is still an awesome Doctor who really knows his stuff and the front desk ladies who check you in are wonderful, but their frames are over priced and some are faulty. They have told us you have to buy warranty coverage to cover faulty frames. This doesn't seem right... it seems like if you've sold a faulty product you should replace it at zero cost. My daughter's glass frames have broken three times. The first time we had to pay to replace them. When the replacements came, the tech broke the second pair in the same exact spot trying to get the frames in. It took them about a month to get a replacement pair after the tech broke them. We were not compensated for waiting. I was told by the store manager that 20 of their patients have these glasses frames with zero problems so they would not pull them from their shelves. Seems to me if one of your own techs busts the frames in the same place that might be your first and only reason to feel a need to pull that frame. They went on to blame my daughter for careless handling of her glasses. I did not appreciate that much. I give three stars because Dr. Jensen is great as I say, and they did replace them the second time the tech broke the frames (with an excessive wait time) and the third time my daughter broke them again. But I feel like I should have never had to pay to replace them that first time, knowing now that they are faulty in that same place on the frame. We will go to Costco for our glasses from now on. We may or may not stay with Dr. Jensen for actual eye care. Not sure.

Seriously. I must say this is truly the best eyecare center I have ever been to. I say this because each time I have had an emergency, the staff got me in on the same day (and both times within an hour of my call). All of the staff are amazingly friendly and seem genuinely concerned about making sure patients have a pleasant experience. This is the only place I will go for eye care!

I LOVE Jill! She is an artist when looking at a face and instantly gets which glasses would be the most flattering, plus she LISTENS! She learns what bling or no-bling, colors and avant-garde or no....and gives perfect advice, always. ALL of the staff is quick to correct the most minor detail, whether a lens could be improved or a nose-piece changed or the entire frame replaced, factory error or UNDER WARRANTY-No Charge! I looked for frames online and in New York City and came back to Jensen's, because I can get exactly the same "new-on-the-market" eyewear as in NY. The lenses are digitally cut and also state of the art-don't let another place talk you into higher-priced glasses with the sales pitch, 'we are the only ones that have ---,' bcz I checked, and then went back to Jensen's and had it all explained and put in writing! Yes, that's me. Frugal, but I desire perfection. Know I am getting quality and fashion that turn heads in Manhattan or Boca Raton. They provide. :) These doctors have state-of-the-art equipment and are more knowledgeable about eyes than most optometrists. They can help with eye tracking for children or adults with reading issues and dyslexia. They watch for autoimmune issues that affect eyes, amongst other diseases. They are also ALL kind and compassionate, on my grumpy and cranky days as well as on my happy days. After a car wreck with smashed glasses and a concussion, with my eyes affected, they took care of me like angels. No, I do not hang out with these wonderful folks, although I have known them professionally a long time, just so you know there is no vested interest here. :) Quality above and beyond deserves a review!

Great first visit to this place! Appointment scheduling was simple, the hours were convenient, and Dr. Jensen really made me feel at ease. I also purchased my frames here. The salesperson talked me down to purchasing a lower index and lens than what I had in my old glasses, and though I was skeptical at first, she was right... they don't look any thicker with the prescription I have. And it saved me quite a bit of money. Highly recommended.
