This place truly has the nicest people I have ever seen. I've called them up on multiple occasions with unique issues and they have always helped me as much as humanly possible. They always call back and are so kind. There is a lady that works there her name is Tracy, she goes way above and beyond for customers. Very grateful for this place.

I have been going to see Dr. Blasco for over 5 years now. When I first went to see him I was told that I had a hemorrhage in my left eye due to some medical issues. Dr. Blasco informed me that my eye condition could improve if I took better care of my health. He took the extra time to explain what was happening with my eyes. I listened carefully and took what he said to heart. At first, I had to see Dr. Blasco twice a year. But within the past two years, because I took his advice seriously, I only need an eye exam once a year. At my last visit in March 2017, he told me that the hemorrhage has completely healed and my eyes "look pretty darn good". Because Dr. Blasco took the time to explain the medical portion of my eye problems, I am in much better health. The people at Eye Care of Iowa are always friendly and extremely helpful. Dr. Blasco genuinely cares about his patients. He always takes time to be thorough and patiently answers any questions or concerns that I may have.

I've been with Eye Care of Iowa for several years, but this time, saw Dr. Nick. It's been a long time since any doctor has been that thorough. He asked questions, made notes on my chart things to look for, gave honest feedback on how to best utilize contacts/glasses to get the best vision possible and was very personable. I have seen most of the doctors through the years and each are knowledgeable and efficient. As time moves on I see different doctors and new staff and the same quality of professional treatment. I return year after year because of that.

I have been a client at Eye Care of Iowa for many years and I have found Dr. Nick Blasco to be very pleasant and knowledgeable. I have issues with dry eyes and he is the first doctor to give a more extensive examination and explain options to me. My two young sons have had their annual exams with Eye Care of Iowa and Dr. Blasco has helped them both with eye issues. After referring my mother, she too found him to be very nice to work with. Even if you are perfectly happy with your current contact lenses and your eye is healthy/not irritated or damaged by the contacts, they will still try to force you to buy a more expensive kind. They also will not complete your exam in one appointment; you will be forced to go to two appointments.

The ladies in the office were all great. Nicholas Blasco was not. He was arrogant and condescending. He rushed through the exam, asked no questions and didn't tell me if there were changes to my prescription. I tried to discuss problems I was having with my vision, and was told I wasn't looking through my glasses correctly. When I tried to explain the problems, he shoved the machine toward my face, angrily told me to "read that", then said "That's your prescription, you see fine!" and walked out. What a waste of my time and insurance benefits! Re: Mr. Blasco's response It must be difficult to build relationships with patients with only 15 minutes allotted for each appointment. With so many satisfied patients, I have to wonder about the complete lack of surprise from two different receptionist at two different locations when they learned of the horrible way I was treated. Mr. Blasco did reverse the charges to my insurance company so I can use my benefits at another optometrist- after his harassing phone call to me during which he threatened me with a law suit if I didn't remove my post. (I have to wonder how many others he's done that to.)

Nice enough people, clean office. Over priced by nearly double from my previous doctor. Will return to that office next year. First impression walking in the door is a customer complaint of the amount of errors and being presented with a letter from the lab apologizing for their errors. Still not having glasses correct. Should have left at that point. Could have paid regular price and saved money.

Just had my 6 month appointment today and was once again very satisfied!! Dr. Nick B. was very thorough, explained my condition to me, listened to my concerns and was very professional and personable at the same time!! The ladies were great too!!! They looked at my 3 pairs of glasses I brought in and made sure they were fitted properly. I had a great time with all of them!!!

My spouse went to this office and received very good care and was well satisfied with the care and treatment. I then went for appointment and had examination and was advised to have further testing at another of their offices, which I had, that was 2 weeks ago and I am still waiting for a report of the test and/or if I need follow up appointment etc. I was told that my vision had changed but depending on the follow up test if I would need new glasses or not.

I've been seeing the eye Dr. Here for a couple years now. They are all great professionals who know how to take care of people. I've went in serval times with a broken nosepieces or a lens issues (I'm hard on glasses) and they've fixed me up in minutes with no charge. They are always the nicest. Definitely a business I'll recommend to anyone.

I needed my daughters contacts renewed and thought I would use local. It was easy to get an appointment and the optometrist was wonderful and personable. When I was checking out imagine my surprise to learn that a new patient contact lens fitting was $160. this was not my daughters first contact lens and had NEVER paid more than 35 dollars for just a contact fitting since my insurance covered the rest of the exam. Back to Whylie we went and four years later I still pay around 30 dollars in addition to my insurance coverage for a contact lens recheck.

I went in with a sore eye that wouldn't stop watering turns out I had a scratched cornea and the Dr. put a contact over it until the next day and gave me drops they took awesome care of me and got me in the same day!!! Dr. Fickbohm is very nice and explains everything she is doing and willing to field any question you may have. I have never had someone be so helpful in picking out a frame that fits. Excellent communicator and keeps you informed on ordering process. I have been a customer for years and my entire family went here. I had gone into Eye Care of Iowa several times in a two week period as I had a scratch on my eye. I could not believe my ears overheard the staff talking badly about ME!!! I was sitting in the waiting area right next to the desk where they causal sat with obviously nothing to do but gossip. I'm a younger adult who is still on my parents insurance and my parents were going to be calling to pay within the time I was there. They acted like payment over the phone was ridiculous and we have done that numerous amount of times before, which they're fine with. If you've got time to sit around and gossip about a customer, you've got time to take payment over the phone. Clearly you're not busy! I see a member of their team has been caught making racial comments over social media. I am one who does not tolerate racial remarks and as I don think that Eye Care of Iowa should be held responsible for an employee who stated such, but they need to see, people they're hiring are mean and nasty people. I will not return after this and nor will my family. I visited the Pleasant Hill location.
