If I could give them ZERO starts I would, but then I wouldn’t be able to review so here’s one star for ya.
I first went to his office late May 2018 because I was having issues with my eyes. I went through my insurance with them, have them all my information, and was all sqared away (so I thought). That very day I got an exam and everything turned out to be okay. After my visit I scheduled an appointment for June that way my insurance would pick up my full eye exam and my new pair of glasses.
June 2018 I go in and the ditsy receptionist acts as if I’ve never been there before (note, I was there literally not ever three weeks ago where I spent 20 minutes figuring out my insurance (I was under both my parents and my husbands hence the confusion)). That was fusturating because well, we all know how irritating insurance can be but then to come in and have to do it all over again, that was annoying. My appointment goes well. I finish my exam and head out to pick out my new pair of glasses. I pick them out, go over the billing and what not, pay in full, then I leave. A few days later my glasses come in. I get them home to try on and I hated them. I swear the prescription was off and were just too big for my little face— not their fault (although I did have someone there “help” my choose my frames) so I kindly call and ask if there’s anything they can do for me. I asked if I would be able to choose a new frame (note, is the same exact day I picked them up) or something. Anything! All I got was [attitude] and “We would have to re-make the whole thing...I’ll have to talk with the doctor” ...they did NOT know their policy (and I’m an idiot for not asking -I know). Anyway, I called again and they said “well you have to contact your insurance.”
I’d also like to add, I would cost them next to nothing to help me out because I hardly have percription in my lenses- I only need them for driving at night or in rain. I even went to a different place to get an opinion on my situation (because maybe I’m just in dream land) nope, the place I talked with was also impressed at their lack of assistance.
100% would NOT recommend this place.
Oh ...and the story also gets better, the Doctor I saw left the practice. Simultaneously, I got a bill for 90 MORE dollars. So I have payed almost $300.00 for glasse I will N.E.V.E.R. wear.
They COULD have been more understanding. They COULD have tried to work with me.
Thanks for not carrying about your clients. Please know, I will be telling everyone I know NOT to go to Down Town Eye Care or Dr. Jenifer Denhartog.
