I have not had very good luck with eye care specialists the last five or six years. This past spring I had an appointment to go for a cataract evaluation in Plainfield, IN. This proved to be a total mess, DR. not in, no warning, take a seat and wait etc. That was a sign to me that I NEEDED TO FIND A REAL DOCTOR. After some research I was told about DR. Whipple, I have never been as pleased with anyplace as I was the first day I walked in. Everyone was a true professional, and everyone wanted to make my visit the best ever. This has proven to be true completely throughout the removal of both of my cataracts. The surgeries were difficult for the doctor, but nothing much for me. For the first one I chose to have a Valium, and that went so easy that for the second I chose just the deadener that they put in your eye. For reference purposes, take the Valium. I did not feel any pain with either surgery, some pressure, and irritation of the eyeball, but not much else. I was not seeing very well out of the first eye (about 20/30) before we did the second. The first was blurry for about 10 days, and they kept telling me it would get better and better every day. IT DID, and the second eye was almost perfect the day after surgery. The only regret I have is that I did not find this place two years ago. Dr. Whipple is the best, he calls every one of his patients the night after their surgery, and everyone has his home phone number just in case there is a problem. The day of my second surgery I was number 12 of 17 that day. I am certain he called each and everyone of us that evening. The next day, (yesterday) I drove myself to his office, and have absolutely no trouble with my vision today (Friday). Thank You Doctor Daniel Whipple and staff, for taking such good care of a GRUMPY OL' MAN !!
