I just received the proverbial run around regarding what was supposed to be a basic annual eye exam... I was contacted by So. Ind Eye Center that it was time to get my annual check up in 12/17 which I got around to setting the appt for 3/18. Because of a change in benefits which I am now piecing together they knew full well would no longer be covered because they would have to charge as a medical expense rather than under "Blue View Vision" by Anthem, which apparently they are no long in that network. So made the appointment which I have done for a few years in a row expecting for it to be a co-pay of $15 since my company does have this vision coverage. I discover upon trying to understand why I am being billed $150. that they are NOT in the network and frankly I believe they knew this all along. They took usually more aggressive tactics by contacting me multiple times to make the appointment knowing all along it wouldn't be covered under my Vision Care insurance...BEWARE!!!

Dr. Mackey has done an outstanding job with my mother. She has macular degeneration and he always makes her feel comfortable and at ease for her treatments. The staff is quite friendly and very helpful regarding insurance. Sometimes there's a slight wait, but not unbearable. They provide excellent care and appear to be genuinely concerned about their patients.

The services offered are amazing, the facility is immaculate, and the care professionals are great, however; The billing/reception staff could use some training on discretion. When I show up I know my balance and do not need it announced to the entire waiting room. Rather embarrassing.

I have had cornea transplants for both eyes. The surgeon who performed the procedure is over an hour away so I had The Eye Center handle my follow up care. Dr Huck has provided most of my follow up care. He is personable and attentive. All has gone well and I trust my eye sight in his and their hands.

I first had Lasik here on both eyes in 1996. I went from extremely nearsighted to 20/20 in both eyes, and I still am. It was like Jesus giving sight to the blind. Maybe I was lucky, but so be it. In the last 5 years I have had cataract surgery on both eyes. On both eyes it was a success. Because of cataracts, my vision had been declining. But now I am 20/20 again. For a 72 year old man, I consider myself lucky. I personally couldn't be happier with my results with the eye center.

I would recommend them to anyone. Dr. Gray was great and I have heard nothing but good things about the other Doctors there.

Dr. Huck and Dr. Chang took amazing care of me. I’m seeing better than I have in 17 years with just basic cataract surgery. The only suggestion I would add is if you are a patient ASK QUESTIONS about your eye health BEFORE surgery. They will take the time to discuss this in detail with you.

I recently had LASIK surgery at The Eye Center to remove cataracts and correct astigmatisms. It has been a very positive experience. All technicians and doctors are knowledgeable and highly skilled, and were good about sharing information to guide me through the process of decision making prior to surgery. Dr Chang took time to answer all my questions and the surgery went smoothly, a totally comfortable experience. Dr. Gray and a team of technicians have managed my follow-up visits, with thorough exams and detailed discussions of my progress. I am very pleased with the professional quality of services at The Eye Center, and highly recommend this team of professionals!

My husband, Bob, is a patient of this practice and has had an excellent experience. From the moment you step foot in the door you are greeted cheerfully and directed to the proper waiting area. Each individual technician, assistant, or nurse has a smile on their face and a friendly attitude. The doctors are also very positive when they enter the exam room, making you completely comfortable with your care. My husband had cataract surgery by Dr. Mackey, on both eyes, and the flowers from the doctor after each procedure were a nice touch. The follow-up care has been exceptional from Dr. Huck & Dr. Gray. Due to another issue, my husband had to see the retina specialist and “Dr. Frank” Hrisomalos, who was very professional, knowledgeable, and kind. We highly recommend the Eye Center of Southern Indiana. 5-Stars is too little for this practice! A 10-Star rating would be more appropriate. I have had a lot high pressures in both eyes, a torn retina & cataract in 1 eye. A total of 6 surgeries on my right eye. And I was only without my CDL for 6 mo. in 20 yrs! They're all friendly & know what they're doing.I would highly recommend them. Also their building is very clean!
