I was very hesitant to have lasik after many, many years of planning it and looking forward to it. I mean, you only have one set of eyes right? My only regret with this process was waiting so long to pull the trigger. Guys, lasik was a game changer. Dr. Meyer and his entire staff (special shoutouts to Jared, Sam, Spencer & Monica) treated me like family from day one. They didn’t write off my questions and hesitation, but took the time to comfort me and walk me through this process. I’m 3 months out and actually at my follow up appointment now. I couldn’t praise this procedure and staff more. I’m a huge advocate of lasik and The Eye Care Institute and wouldn’t dream of going elsewhere!

I received LASIK Surgery almost six years ago and my vision is still 20/15. I see clearly, without the benefit of glasses. The freedom that comes from not being tethered to my glasses is amazing! My first visit was disappointing. The doctors are great, and efficient, but the staff needs to work on a sense of urgency. It took two visits before I could place an order for my glasses. The first time I waited for almost 20 minutes for the optician to acknowledge me. He was chatting with another employee and never even looked up to see that there were two of us waiting for him. At the time, I thought it was a patient, so I didn't try to interrupt, and I left. I was finally able to place my order for my glasses on my second visit. I had to call several times before I got in touch with the optician to find out if my glasses came in or not. It's been over 10 business days, and I have been calling for a few days, and left messages with different staff members. However, the service seemed to improve when I went back to get my glasses. There is now a sign in sheet so the optician(s) know who is waiting. I was acknowledged upon my arrival by the optician and was promptly taken care of. I feel they still need to have a reasonable turnaround time for returning phone calls, but I can see they are striving to improve their performance.

paid $3500.00 for lasik, comes time for annual review and my insurance is not accepted, real bad feeling from working with this group. I would avoid at all cost, vision not what i bargained for and the attitude that because my insurance is not from the biggest company in the mix, then i get ripped off and charged full price because this facility sees my coverage as second rate.

I have recommended this place to every single person that I meet, telling them about the vision problems I used to have. When I came to USA in 2015, I had an appointment at the Lions of University of Louisville, and they made me feel hopeless. So, I hesitated so much before going forward to make another appointment, it made me feel completely depressed again. Fortunately, somebody recommended this place to me and I was really afraid, but my sight was getting worst every year, and limiting my ADL and skills. After my first appointment at the eye care institute I felt so confident, Jose, the technician, was so patient and comprehensive with me, respectful, he explained to me with not rush at all, (something that I really appreciated) every procedure and the goals of all the tests that he was performing. Then, the magic came from the hands of Dr. Parker. She really got me out of the darkness, I spent 17 years of my life trying to get along with contact lenses, but that is one of the issues with my disease, it is hard to get used to them. In my case every time that I tried, I wasn't successful. But she prescribed me some scleral lenses that feels like my own eyes. So comfortable, and I reached 20/20 with them, the first difference it was the brightness, I was soooooooo happy, like a baby with a new toy. I just couldn't believed it. She is not only professional, and high skilled, but also a compassionated human being. By the time that I had my first appointment with her, my back was really sore due to a car accident, and on the follow up app (like 20 days later), the first thing that she did was asked me about my back, I couldn't believed that she was able to remember that. I would like also to say thanks to Amy, she explained every detail to me about how to proceed with the special lenses, and she is always so nice, and smiling, you feel only good vibes around her. My life has really changed because of them.

I have had an incredible experience getting LASIK and even my regular yearly eye care. The staff is absolutely incredible, and they are a well-oiled machine! I love their self check-in kiosk and the easy way for mobile checking before the appointment. Then the process for LASIK was wonderful. I felt informed, and completely eased of nerves. Dr. Meyer walked me through each step of the procedure and other staff gave me all the tools necessary to protect my eyes post/surgery. They are truly customer service focused, and I am so glad I chose The Eye Care Institute!

Unfortunately, I had a very unsatisfying experience with an intake receptionist on April 4th at 1pm. She was not up to the usual standards of the Eye Care Institute. She was unpleasant and very matter of fact. This woman insisted on getting insurance information that was not necessary and did not stop asking for it until another intake person came over to see what the issue was. I was not getting glasses or contacts so I did not HAVE to provide my social security number to verify additional coverage. In the end, she pushed my identification and insurance card across the counter to me. Also, she did not offer any information about the survey or feedback. I overheard other receptionists telling patients to fill it out. Of course with her attitude and behavior it makes sense she did not want me to provide feedback. Other than this unpleasant encounter, I am very pleased with the services at the Eye Care Institute

I have been in contacts/glasses for about 30 years and today I was able to toss them all. Although I didn't buy glasses here, they were able to get my daughter her eye exam for highschool. We were greeted with an opened door by an optician named Shanon. After the exam, Shanon adjusted and cleaned our glasses making them look almost new again. She showed us great hospitality and treated us well, even though we were not purchasing anything that day. I will definitely be coming back to purchase a new set of spectacles for myself and family later this year when our insurance allows. The office was clean and well maintained. There was a great selection to choose from including sunglasses.

Dr. Meyer is a phenomenal physician who loves what he does. He is incredibly personable and takes the time to address all of my concerns. His professionalism and caring attitude reflect in each of his employees. The Eye Care Institute is a friendly practice that provides excellent care.

I had a unique situation I had my Lasik Surgery in New York before I moved to Kentucky. I had to have some enhancements done but needed a local place to do follow up. I contacted The Eye Care Institute and spoke with Leah Barlow. She was wonderful , very helpful. Her and Dr. Meyer agreed to help me out. It's been about a year now and they treat me just like one of their original patients. All of the staff is very friendly and helpful. I am so grateful to have found them.... Appointment time was 9:40. Checked in at 9:13 and finally called back to a room at 10:28!! We have other appointments schedule since we live so far away. 50 mins behind is ridiculous. If we were 15 mins or more late, we would have to reschedule for being so late. That being said... the staff are very nice. The office is clean with plenty of waiting room seating. Bathrooms were clean also. I love the speedy check in kiosks also.

I had a wonderful experience at the Eye Care Institute. They came highly recommended and everything was pitch perfect every step of the way for my lasik procedure. All of the staff were very nice and highly competent. I didn’t have to wait long for any of my appointments which is a huge plus for me. I was nervous about the procedure but all my hesitations were put to rest after the thorough job the staff did in explaining the procedure and answering my questions. The procedure was a great success and I couldn’t be happier. The first thought I had leaving that day was how I wished everyone could have the procedure. I can’t recommend them highly enough. If you are concerned about lasik like I was, go see them. After the first visit I New I was in good hands. I hope this review is helpful for someone out there so they can have the same experience I did.

I had Cataract Surgery with Dr. Greene, my main doctor, over 6 years ago and I am still pleased. He is a kind and gracious man. The entire staff is very nice to me. Dr. Parker took time with me and she is wonderful too. The only thing missing is the TV in the front lobby. I also had glasses made at The Eye Care Institute and they are perfect. Mark P. , the office Administrator, brought me a soft drink and crackers once when my doctor was running late. I really like the Eye Care Institute.

This place used to have good service. I don’t know if they are under new ownership or what but it’s definitely not the same. I had PRK back in 2015. I used to routinely see one of the doctors who did the surgery on me, Dr Meyer. I made appointment to see Dr Meyer and waited almost 4 months to see him. Today when I go into my appointment, they tell me I’m meeting a different doctor. One I’ve never heard of. I explain to the gentlemen/lady that I specifically made an appointment to see Dr Meyer and waited 4 months to see him. He goes back and tells me if I want to see Dr Meyer I have to pay 75$ but if I see the other doctor it will be free. I advise I don’t understand why I have to pay extra to see Dr Meyer, even though my vision insurance covers. He tells me I can either pay 75$ extra or see the other doc. No other option. I’ve seen dr Meyer before and never had to pay an extra fee my vision insurance covered it. I went ahead and seen the other “Dr” which she wasn’t. They rush me through the process put all kind of drops in my eye do some test and I’m taken to check out and told to come back next year. Nobody explain anything to me, how my vision is, what my eye health is, the so called “dr” didn’t say a single word to me about my eye health. I paid them their co pay and they told me to leave and “come back next year”. The check out guy has the audacity to ask me when he should schedule my next appointment. This place is a scam and all they care about ripping people off and making money. Even when I tried to explain to the receptionist that I’ve seen Dr Meyer before and my vision insurance covered, she wouldn’t even hear me out. I’m calling my insurance company and filing a complaint. I will also be reporting these scammers to the Department of Health. By the way my appointment was at 2:30, I didn’t leave the office until almost 5:00. I feel so ripped off, not to mention I took time off from my job just to go to an appointment that was a waste of my time.
