My wife`s primary eye physician informed her that her right eye is under the process of permanent damage due to high eye pressure. We had very little time to save the rest of her eye. She was referred to Dr. Patel. Dr. Patel treated her well. By the grace of Allah, he successfully operated the affected eye, and every thing is now under control. I gave him 5 stars due to following reasons:
1) He is highly professional.
2) He is highly skilled.
3) He is very polite.
4) He is a good listener.
5) There was not a significant waiting time during appointments.
There is one thing that needs to improve that isn't necessarily Dr. Patel's fault.
The office staff that deals with scheduling needs improvement in how they deal with patients. My wife had a serious condition. She needed to get a quick appointment based on her previous ophthalmologist's exam. They were scheduling her for an appointment 2 months later. If we had waited, she would had more damage and deterioration to her eye. Fortunately, I had an earlier appointment with Dr. Patel. I requested to switch my appointment with hers, and we completed the surgery within a month of that initial call. Despite this clear severity, their attitude was not very professional. I tried to reschedule my appointment later when my wife had a follow-up appointment after her surgery. It's OK if they had refused. However, they did not listen well and acted as if I wanted to cancel my appointment (I clearly didn't). The office staff needs to be trained in scheduling appropriate to the condition and listen attentively to the patients.
