The first time I went to Long Family Eye Care, I got lost. It was the end of the day, and by the time I finally found them, it was only to apologize for being late and to reschedule. I felt like a fool, but they treated me well. Two weeks later, I had a fascinating and fabulous experience with Dr. Long, and ordered two pair of glasses. (They were on sale!) When I was ready to pay and leave, I discovered I'd left my credit card and driver's license at home. Yikes–here I was, the crazy woman again, but the receptionist was very nice. I went home and phoned in my credit card info. Two weeks later I had great sunglasses and a new pair of regular glasses. I'm a VERY satisfied customer!

I've gone to Long Family Eye Care since I've moved to Bloomington almost a decade ago. However, when I switched jobs I found out that Long Family Eye Care was not in the network for my new vision insurance, so I went to a different place (which was way across town) about two years ago, and i had a decent enough experience but nothing amazing. I decided to go back to Long's for my latest appointment since it was closer to my house and work, and getting my glasses adjusted wouldn't be as hard. I'm so glad I did! I had such a better experience than the previous place. The staff was super helpful in helping me pick out new glasses, they fixed my old pair even though I didn't buy them there, and I really didn't end up spending much more than I did at the in network place.

Every person who works there is nice AND helpful no matter what the need. I know Bloomington has other options but I do not think anyone reading this should consider anyone but Long Family Eyecare. Misty at the front desk was awesome with scheduling (got me in same day because of a cancellation!) and helped me understand my insurance. Also, the techs I met with were amazing and so was Dr. Long. The whole process had my time in mind and I was in and out in 45 minutes which included a contact fitting.
