This was my first time going to Levin Eye Care Center and I absolutely enjoyed the experience. The staff was very kind and helpful. The exam was pretty straight forward and easy to do. And picking out the perfect pair of glasses was a breeze, and I imagined it would be the most stressful part. The staff was there to answer any questions I had and gave me clear explanation of what I needed to get done. This was definitely the best experience I’ve had. Thank you!

EXPLORE YOUR OPTIONS! I didn't even want to rate them one star. We took our son for a vision evaluation. Staff seem polite but are not very helpful. My husband felt confused and overwhelmed when he came for the final consultation and we sat in a room with 4 people who didn't introduce themselves and didn't use my son's name at all while reviewing results. We were also very taken back by the fact that they were so willing to guarantee a good therapy time if we were willing to pay the "today only discounted cost" upfront that night, without waiting to find out what our insurance would cover. If we chose to wait for additional information from the insurance, we were at the mercy of whatever appointments they had available, and of course the discount went away. They sent an urgent predetermination request to our insurance to find out how much of the vision therapy they would cover and it was denied due to lack of information. Insurance sent them a letter requesting additional information and to date no additional information has been received by the insurance company. They also required payment upfront for the initial testing, then billed the insurance. The insurance did pay a portion of the testing (only a portion, because the other test they billed for was a behavioral health code that states a psychologist met with the patient). Obtaining a reimbursement for the portion the insurance paid took over a month and several phone calls, and they were unwilling to reimburse my HRA card, which meant additional work for me to get the reimbursement put back in the right place. Additionally, after three requests over two weeks, I finally told them I was coming to get my son's medical records because I was tired of getting the run around and the “I will get back to you” excuse. We don’t feel they really wanted to help us, or work with our insurance to get things worked out, they are just looking to get paid!!

Went in last week for my sister and nieces appointments and decided I wanted to get some sunglasses. They were able to squeeze me in for a full eye exam just to be sure my prescription hadn’t changed and even though I wasn’t due for one until September. The staff here is amazing and always friendly and helpful. The prices may be a little high but the quality of services makes it worth it!

The service is good and the staff is polite. Dr. Levin is very precise in making sure you can see. With that being said, I was flabbergasted with what they charged for my glasses and contacts. I have phenomenal insurance and never have I paid what I paid for 1 pair of glasses as well as my contacts. Close to $2000 for both that is unheard of. I since took one of my boys elsewhere, and I paid less (well under 50% less than figure above). He got his contacts, glasses and prescription sunglasses that were name brand. I will not return to this place because of pricing.

I would give this business no stars if it were possible. I decided to support a small town business and skip Walmart. Well, I'm in Walmart now anyway. When I entered this business both the employees at the desk gave me a puzzled look. I was greeted cheerfully and offered assistance. I only want to get the screws on my son's glasses tightened. I informed the employees that we were here for adjustments. A male employee asked me what was wrong with the glasses. Huh?! In the not so distant past when you entered an eyeglass store asking for adjustments an employee would ask you to put on your glasses, check them, and proceed to tighten screws, clean them, and etc. I was puzzled at this point, and I showed him the loose sides. I was asked if I was a patient. When I answered no, I was given a form to fill out and told that I would have to pay $10. They weren't even sure if it would be $10. I immediately informed the employees that I would go somewhere where the adjustments are free i.e. ANY other eyeglass place (Pearl, Lens Crafters, Walmart, Macys, For Eyes). He informed me that usually the warranty is handled by wherever you purchased the glasses and that EVERY place is different. No it isn't. I've been doing this since the late '80s/early '90s. Epic fail Levin Optical. We went to Walmart (RIP Small Town USA) and got the screws in the arms tightened and the glasses thoroughly cleaned. I really wanted to start a relationship with this place. Now my son wants to purchase his new pair of glasses from Walmart. Ugh!
