I never write reviews, but felt compelled after receiving such excellent care from Dr. McCormick and his staff. I had retinal surgery a year ago after Dr. McCormick diagnosed my problem on an emergency basis. I recovered from that but developed a cataract in that eye about a year later. Just this December I had cataract surgery and again received outstanding care. I have just had my final post op check and found out that I now have 20/20 vision with my new lens implant! Having contemplated what it would be like to have vision in only one eye or decreased vision I can say that I am elated with my vision!! I would highly recommend Dr. McCormick and his staff at the Greenwood Indiana Eye Clinic!

Long time patients, but had “emergency” before hours today. Staff jumped in, paged md to come early and took great care of our daughter. Thank you Tessa and Dr. Terry

Most comments saying that staffs are rude is true. When we got there on time, they greeted us like we don’t exist in their eyes.We were standing at the front desk for a couple minutes and confused. There were three staffs at the front desk, the one that in front of us was on the phone and the other two were chatting each other. At least they could say to us that someone will be with us in a few minutes, and we don’t mind waiting for that. After the two have finished up chatting, they simply kept ignoring us so I walked up to the desk and told her nicely that we have appointment today. Then she looked at me like I have done something wrong, and she replied to me rudely saying that I need to talk to the person with the phone. Afterwards, we started waiting for a very long hours to see a doctor. Also, they said that they would send our results to our family physician, but they didn’t. This is the first time we visited here, and it will be our last too.

I have been a patient of Dr. McCormick at the Indiana Eye Clinic for the past few years. He has been monitoring the progression of cataracts in both my eyes. When it came to the point that my right eye vision could not be corrected sufficiently to produce an acuity level equivalent to 20/35, I realized it was indeed the appropriate time to remove my cataracts. Dr. McCormick fully explained the procedure to me and answered any questions I had. Surgery itself was painless, and the results were better than I could have imagined. Dr. McCormick, Tessa Patterson, the surgical staff, and all the individuals with whom I interacted at Indiana Eye Clinic Greenwood were skilled, knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful, and I trust them implicitly with the care of my eyes. Thanks for everything!

If you want to go to a place that doesn't give a single care, go here. They treat you like an inconvenience and like you're wasting their time.

I took my mom here twice for her eye exam this year. Like the previous comments, some of the nurses at the front desk acted as if they're doing you a favor and not their job! When we got there the first time, there were two nurses on the front desk - one is helping a patient who arrived just before us and the other one was on the phone. When the first nurse was done, she looked right past us and called the patient who arrived after us and stood behind us. The nurse on the phone just looked at us without telling us how long we need to wait or when she will be with us. When the first nurse was done with her second patient, she completely ignored us again and got up from her desk. Confused, I look at the the second nurse on the phone and she also ignored us. Once she hung up the phone, she also left the front desk without saying a single word. We stood there for another 5-6 minutes when the nurse on the phone finally came back and checked us in rather rudely. Yes, you can tell from people's expressions and tone whether they're friendly or rude. I could't help but wonder "Are they treating us this way because we don't look 'white'?" The rest of our time at the clinic went rather slowly but I was happy that my mom got the help she needed at the end. On our second visit, there was no one at the front desk so the nurse from the checkout counter told us to came the other way. She was friendly and helpful (she also helped us with our checkout that day)! The waiting time was painfully slow. On top that, they forgot to run some test before the doctor''s examination, while we waited for a total of 35+ minutes in two different rooms after they first called us in, so they had to run another test after the doctor realized what happened. I commented that I was wondering why they didn't run that test while we have been waiting in the second room for about 20 minutes now and the doctor got super offended saying "Because it took about 20 minutes for the medicine to work." Imm... excuse me? I know for a fact that the eyes don't need to be fully dilated for that particular test. How about the additional 15+ minutes we waited in the first room after they put in the medication? I understand that some days are busier than others and that we all forget things and/or make mistakes sometimes. What I'm not okay with is that we were lied to and treated as if we do not understand a thing!

Was scheduled for corrective eye surgery but ultimately cancelled & never went back. I don't think I talked to the same person twice. After spending over $200 for several scripts of different eye drops with overlapping directions & dates & no clear cut "explanation" on what was going on & what I needed to do. I definitely got the feeling I was being pushed through the program so my insurance company can be milked for all it's worth..

April 2018: The staff wasn’t friendly. Not rude, but not friendly. Wait time was kinda rough. I had come to get screened for an eye condition, which they couldn’t determine. I asked what I should do next, no advice from them, and no sympathy, just a walk out to the front door. And the kicker, they gave me dilation drops, which I never experienced, and wasn’t warned that I couldn’t drive home. What a mess. And a complete waste of time. Only thing good to say? The facility is gorgeous.

I have been seeing Dr. Rader for 20 years. He great doctor. Recently my wife was experiency a gray fog in her eye 3 different times. He optomerist daid is was just flotters. After the 3rd time I took her to see Dr. Rader. After examining her he said she was having migraine headaches without pain. He then wrote a letter to oyr family doctor of the results. Our family doctor had my wife to see a vascular surgeon and a nueologist. The vascular surgeon after several tests siad she had a carotid artery blockage and needed to be fixed right a way. I credit Dr. Rader, our family doctor, and the vascular for savo\ing my wife's life. My hat goes off to Dr. Rader. He is great.

Some of the staff act as if they are doing you a favor. I actually heard one staffer on the tx being very rude to a person SHE CALLED to re-schedule an appointment....ummm no. Not the first time I have felt that the staff was rude to and short with patients.

Patty Watson

Just finished Cataract Surgery with Dr. Radar and staff. While I was nervous about someone doing things to my eyes that I didn't want to know any details about, it turned out to be a very pleasant experience. His staff were awesome and made me feel totally comfortable having this surgery. They explained everything as it would happen and were very attentive to my needs. They said I would feel no pain and they were correct, no pain at all. Got my good eyesight back and then some. I recommend them to everyone now. They are the best! Dr. Radar your staff ROCKS!

Donald Martin

I took my mom to this clinic recently. It seemed to be well organized. It was very busy too. It almost seemed to be too busy. There were quite a few patients in the waiting room. The wait was a bit long, but doable since our schedule allowed the extra time. The staff seemed friendly enough.

These two girls came up and ask if they could make adjustment to and clean my glasses while I was waiting for the eye doctor to come in. So they took them and when I got them back I can't see out of them cause the coating is a big blur. I have two insurance and the lady helping me never mentioned if one would cover anything or even tried to save me money. I'm not very happy about how I was just rushed along and not shown different less expensive frames.

Vartika Gupta

Courteous. Dr. Rader and Ms Sue C are great!!! They were wonderful with my Father's treatment.

I had pretty much given up driving at night due to overlapping starbursts from lights and difficulty seeing black roads, especially in rain. I was nervous about cataract extraction. Then this summer I started having difficulty seeing through my camera well enough to determine if subjects were in focus. Photography is my favorite leisure activity so I made an appointment with Dr. Rader. As I suspected, a new prescription wouldn't help. I decided to have both cataracts removed. The procedures were simple, to my amazement, and everyone treated me wonderfully. I had worn strong glasses for 60 years. Today I see 20/20 without correction at distance and inexpensive reading glasses work well at computer and reading distances. I am thrilled! Thank you, Dr. Rader.

Marty Law

On Tuesday, July 30th, I had cataract surgery with Dr. Radar. I was very impressed with the whole process and the efficiency of the nurses and the surgery and the timing. I felt they certainly knew what they were doing. Thus far I am very satisfied with the results. My vision is so much clearer. It is great being able to read road signs again.

I never made it to the doctor appointment... So, this review is for the staff. Maggie took all of my information to schedule me for a month later appointment. Nobody wants to give all of their personal details to only find out that they cannot be attended till the next month! No respect for anyone's time! Then, she made me feel uncomfortable about my insurance. She said I will have to call my insurance provider to see if my insurance works with them. I gave her exact name and I had my Insurance Card in front of me. I even said that on the website of my insurance it says it does. She didn't care to check. It is almost like if they would double charge me that would be my problem. Don't you think employee should know insurance providers they work with? Specially big names like Anthem Blue Vision. Or at least say, let me check that for you and call back later. To give you a different perspective, later on I called HERKERT FAMILY EYE CARE. I spoke with Alexis there. Everything was smooth and painless. She took all of my insurance info and confirmed that they work with my plan. She asked me to bring various items with me to make sure I had a good experience. She even asked me if I know how to get to their office. Now, this is the service anyone would feel happy about. Bottom line, when I'm nice and polite I cannot stand rude customer service!

They do testing and treat conditions that can only be done by specialists. They are very professional and never make you feel rushed or pressured in any way. They present you with your options and answer your questions. I have been with them for over thirty years and I've never considered going anywhere else. The shop that sells glasses in the building has a limited selection and having your glasses made there is pricey. There are good quality and yet cheaper places available.

My husband has been a patient of the Indiana Eye Clinic since 2001. He recently had another surgery that prompted this review. Appointments were easily scheduled and promptly addressed. Dr. McCormick is a thorough, detail-oriented professional. We have great confidence and trust with the caring and conscientious eye care at the Indiana Eye Clinic. Thank you Dr. McCormick!

Kathy Burks

Had surgery with Dr. Radar and staff, wait time is what was expected. I was told it would be up to 2 hours from check in to finish and it was (with both eyes). Minimal pain, great vision results. Staff kind, helpful and attentive. I called with a concern postop and was immediately put at ease, Dr. Radar himself called me back to check in. Highly recommend. Could not be happier.

I went there to see about getting contacts to replace my reading glasses sometimes. So, I go through the exam, and get fitted for some , and they give me samples to wear. I tell them in my up visit that the contacts make my distance vision blurry. I get a slightly different prescription and, again try to get use to them. I go in for my final visit and tell the doctor that my vision is still blurry and at night, it it really distracting because the way light retracts. He says, well that is just the way the contacts are when you are wearing only one for reading. I'm like so, it will always be like this? He says yes. Believe me if they had told me up front what he told me on my last visit, I would not have spent hundreds of dollars and wasted all my time. You would think that they could at least give you a realistic idea, but I guess then they wouldn't have your money.

Horrible customer service. Waits are incredibly long. We've been here for 50 minute this time and still sitting here waiting to see someone. We have tried for two years here and nothing but frustration with them so we are going elsewhere. If you have the patience to wait for hours then this is the place for you.

I ordered glass's which cost me over 160$. This was over a month ago. I have yet to receive them. I gave up calling them because they have no answers. I have had people say they will find out and then call me back, which they never do. The Desk staff has been rude, and while the Staff who helped me pick out glass's were nice, they are now at the mercy of their inept lab. Seriously, how can you screw up single vision glass's 4 times in a row, and now its 5 weeks since I placed the order *5 WEEKS!* They offered me a 25% discount, but that was last week, and it has not even been posted to my account... I doubt this will even happen. Not sure what to do now, besides cancel my order.

I have been very impressed with the Indiana Eye Clinic for many years. Dr. Radar did RK surgery on my eyes, years ago, with complete success! I am older now and have recently gone back and Dr. Radar for cataract surgery. He is an excellent surgeon with a great staff on individuals who are great at what they do. If you're looking for a short visit with a quick fix, I wouldn't go there. They take the time to do it right with great success! Monica

Tanner Stout

The customer service is absolutely terrible. I was in the process of requesting medical records for employment purposes. I made it clear that the records were for employment reasons at the beginning of the whole process. Every other place I requested records from retrieved the records with in 24 hours and at no cost. The Indiana eye clinic, however, took half a month or 10 business days to get the records. They only got them because I went in on the 10th business day. The day they said they would have them by. When I went in the first time that day, they told me they would have them by the end of the day and said they would call. 30 minutes before close came around and no call. So I went in and they had the records but never called and I didn't believe that they were ever going to. Then they mentioned for the first time through the entire process that I would be charged $20 for the records that took over half a month to receive. Extremely thankful that was the last time I would have to deal with this particular clinic.

Doreen Rich

The doctors and staff are THE BEST ... they are miracle workers! Sometimes the waiting is a bit longer than I would like, but how can one put a price on vision? It annoys me when people complain about waiting to see the people who can restore their vision or prevent them from losing it. "I opened two gifts this morning ... my eyes!" Thank you Indiana Eye Clinic and they have the BEST coffee machine and wifi

Showed up on time for an appointment, waited an hour, and left. No heads up on delay, explanation, or apology.

I love IEC! Friendly and knowledgeable staff, and the technicians are highly skilled and very thorough. All of the doctors are great and caring. Would definitely recommend this practice to anyone looking for eye care in the Greenwood area.

Excellent care. Excellent service. If you are thinking of having cataract surgery, this is the place to go. I was very nervous about having to have cataract surgery on both eyes and was pleasantly surprised at how painless and simple it was. Thanks to Dr. Hopen, it was literally one of the easiest things I've done. I went from feeling like I was going blind to having the best vision ever in two weeks time. I can't recommend them highly enough.

The physicians and staff of Indiana Eye Clinic of Greenwood provide excellent patient care. I received a life-altering diagnosis in late 2017. Treatments, medications, and medical side effects led me to the experts at Indiana Eye Clinic with little notice and a shortened time frame. With careful consideration of my evolving circumstances and my allergies, the physicians offered effective treatments for the chronic conditions of my eyes. As a patient with a severe chronic health condition, I am very grateful for the extra level of care I received from the physicians and staff at Indiana Eye Clinic of Greenwood.

Had my annual exam today, Dr. Hopen found some scar tissue from cataract surgery last year. Within 2 minutes he had removed it via laser. I left totally satisfied, drove back to work and stared at a computer screen the rest of the day. Couldn't ask for better eye care. Thanks, everyone at the Indiana Eye Clinic and Surgery Center. 5 Stars!

The clinic is very slow. The surgery center seems to be run much better and right on time. These comments are about the clinic. 1. Very slow service. If your appointment is at 1:00 you won’t be seen until at least 1:45. We have experienced this with 2 family member on numerous visits. 2. Once you are brought to a room you will likely wait at least 30-45 more minutes. 3. The front desk is very rude at the clinic. They are probably so crabby because everyone is pestering them about waiting so long. 4. There are plenty of employees but the clinic is just so slow. 5. The surgery center is much better organized and staff who does procedures are very kind. 4/10/18 Note- we returned for another visit today. This is our 5th visit in 3 years. Things seemed much different. Very organized. We saw Dr Terry and he was so informative.
