Knowledgeable doctor on top of his eye game. Seriously knowledgeable and very patient and very informative. Got a correct script which is not easy at all considering my eye complications. Highly recommend this doctor eith his expertise and his skills. Zach got me a great pair of glasses. However, being a Medicare/Medicaid patient, Zach's insurance knowledge is lacking. Refused to file a prior authorization for my medically necessary lenses which is what Medicaid needs to cover my lenses. Charged me a co pay which is against medicaid/Medicare policies/contracts for dual eligible patients and it is not just a medical billing error- it is illegal double billing. I'm sure it's not malicious or intentional- just a lacking of knowledge but I explained it to him and he refused to he educated and informed on the law/billing policies of Medicaid and Medicare. For an office that states it is charitable towards those in need- it's a little disappointing. So, if you have Medicaid and Medicare, go else where as this office refuses to do the right thing and follow the laws for dual eligible patients. We're so not 'their kind'. Update: Zach states Medicaid denied eye exam and glasses. States a PA was filed on the day of my appt. I also have a recorded conversation that transpired a week after my appt and Zach said a Medicaid PA hadn't been filed and wont be until I get a denial from my Medicare insurance provider. Medicaid states never recieved a PA and when they issue a denial- a patient receives a letter of denial of coverage explaining why the service was denied- never recieved one. Medicaid states one was never issued because they didn't receive a PA. I really like my script and if I weren't poor- I'd go back to Dr. Turner. I'm in a very unique medical situation where I cant go elsewhere due a rare genetic disease that effects my eyes/serious eye complications and get an accurate script. It's very unfortunate.

OMG I must say this was the best eye exam I've ever had! When Dr. Turner's assistant asked me the routine questions about what concerns I was having with my eyes, I totally forgot to mention how my right eye had been bothering me when I'm on the computer or reading. So when Dr Turner was conducting my eye exam he told me he noticed my right eye will need a stronger prescription. That's when I remembered I forgot to tell his assistant! Dr Turner is uniquely talented and gifted. I will be recommending Acuity Eyecare to everyone I know!

This has been by far my best experience going to the eye doctor! I have a medical condition that destroys the cornea and has all but blinded me in my right eye. Going to the eye doctor has never been a good experience for me because they always poke and stick things in my eyes but not here! They have the most high tech equipment available which allows them to service their patients without all the extra stabbing and jabbing. My faith is restored in having a good eye doctor! This was my second visit to Acuity Eyecare & Eyewear. The staff is very professional and Dr. Turner conducts the most thorough eye exams I’ve ever had. I followed his instructions for treatment of dry eye over the past year and saw an improvement in my vision as a result. He takes the time to explain all details of eye health and makes sure you have a clear understanding. He and his staff also take the time to make sure that all of your questions are answered. Best eye doctor I’ve ever encountered. He’s extremely thorough, well educated, and the most personable eye doctor I’ve ever met. He truly listens to his patients and gets to know them, which makes for a very comfortable & personalized experience each visit. He caught my kiddo’s “lazy eye” at 5yo, was “aggressive” with treatment, and it has since gotten no worse in the past 3 years thanks to Dr. Turner! So thankful! He’s truly amazing with kids — my kiddo loves his eye doctor appointments! The office staff is always amazing (we’ve been going for about 3 years, so there have been some changes in staffing, especially with the growth of his practice!), so helpful, and professional. I've only been once, to get an eye exam for glasses. Nice facility, clean, the spot where it is at downtown is not super busy and you usually get parking right in front of the building, even during the week. Timely, friendly, professional, and the glasses I got, I've had them for over a year and a half, and they are still in great shape. They call to remind you of your due date for yearly exam. Cool place.

He is very well versed in the latest advances in eye care, and has advanced equipment to scan your eyes to monitor their health. I never feel rushed during my annual appointments. Had an appointment, and they called me 2 hours before to say they had no doctor available and told me to reschedule. If you have no doctor available then why do you have slots open on your web site for people to sign up with? If I called 2 hours before and asked to cancel I'm sure that wouldn't be accepted. Poor business practices. Do not recommend this place. I think some of these 5 star reviews may be fake as well. EDIT: To the owners of this practice and to the public reading this review, sorry no I have left a review for the correct practice. If your doctor is always in then I think some imposter is answering your phones and telling people that the doctor is not in and they need to reschedule their appointment. Sometimes peoples' Google accounts are their nicknames and not their legal names FYI.

Dr. Turner is a fantastic Ophthalmologist. Obviously he is educated (beyond his profession would mandate), but he was also vibrant & enthusiastic about sharing info w/me. He uses the most state of the art, leading-edge equipment I have experienced. Among other positives, I was impressed he was able to identify a 13 year old injury along the perimeter of my retina, long since healed. The waiting area & interior overall is contemporary w/a Zen-like feel; sleek, calm & comfortable. Staff was pleasant, friendly & courteous. It's surprisingly accessible in a very convenient downtown location on Delaware JUST southeast of Banker’s Life & north of Hotel Alexander (South St). Parking was absolutely no issue. Whether or not you live or work downtown, he is worth every bit of the drive. (Thank you Dr. Turner!)
