Friday will be four weeks since I first ordered my glasses ...... no word yet on when I will receive them...... when order was supposedly placed it actually was not placed at all.... they simply took out the lab fee and did not order the glasses..... friendliness...... maybe a 5 however they just do not conduct their business professionly......

I have seen Dr. Kittle all my life, and I could not ask for a better optometrist (though, from what I have seen and heard, all of the other doctors at PECC are excellent, as well). They seem to have a wide selection of frames. I have seen some pretty nice brands there, such as Maui Jim and Ray-Ban. Tanner was quite helpful when I picked out my glasses. You are sure to get a very thorough examination, should you take your business there, which is something I definitely recommend. I know my vision care is in capable hands.

Jazmine Ruvolo

I had an appointment at the same time as my children. The staff was very friendly helping with my 2 children and their appointments. Most of the doctors are friendly and very informative. Front desk people have never been rude. There should be more seating, but overall it's a nice place.

Erin B

The staff and Dr. Kittle made my daughter's very first eye exam an enjoyable experience. Hard to get in, but worth the wait!

Kim G

First bad experience with them. Husband told over the phone to come early before having eyes dilated and he could pick out glasses. Got here an hour early and was not called before his appt, even after inquiring at the desk if they understood he needed to pick out glasses. We'll take his prescription somewhere else at this point. Let someone else who cares to provide service earn the profit. Maybe Saturday appointments are a bad idea here...

Staff is rude and unprofessional. Also, the prices are very high and the sales people are very pushy. Plus, they will not warranty lenses or stand behind their work unless you buy frames from them. All eyeglasses have to be sent out to have the lenses fit, so if you need your glasses all the time you have to buy new frames when you get a new prescription. My imression is that it is more about raking in money than helping the patients. Will be taking my bisiness elsewhere.

The doctor was terrific, very helpful. So was the person before her doing the initial exam stuff. The sales person was terrible. i was looking for 15-20 minutes and didn't ask me what i was looking for or anything. i had to go up to her with the glasses i didn't even really like, for her to even begin to help me. I will go back because of the doctors but will not be buying anymore frames from there ever again.

It's been a month, and i still haven't got my glasses. I call, and leave voice messages, and they never call me back.. real professional.. smh

Made me feel like i was the only one in office. Was in and out no waiting and Dr Hill was awesome such a nice man will always come back .

Penny Fox

Always a good experience. Dr. Kittle is a miracle worker with contacts! No one can get me seeing better.

George Mays

My latest Eye Examine went as expected. Careful procedures and Recommendations to help prevent other problems as I age. Excellent service for picking out Frames and lenses.

Victor Trujillo

The staff there was AMAZING!!! Everyone was so helpful and very professional. The opticians are so knowledgeable and will go out of their way to make sure you have everything you want and need. I did not find anything in the office that I liked, so the optician I was working with ordered me several frames in styles and colors that was looking for. I found the perfect pair of glasses for me!! Some of the things they have can be a little pricey, but you get what you pay for and they have the good stuff!! 10/10 would recommend!!

Had I received this email a week ago to leave a review I would have had very little if anything positive to say. I know most won't read a long review so let me just say this. Judi is wonderful as is Dr. Hill. Now for my review. I scheduled an eye exam with them because they took my insurance. Dr. Hill was very thorough, but the technicians that assisted me were rude and anything but helpful. I picked out regular frames and ordered lenses to go in my sunglass frames I already had. I waited the 2 weeks for my glasses to come in. They broke my sunglass frames and did offer to replace them. I picked a new frame out and again waited for the lenses. When I got the call they were ready, I came in and those frames had been stretched out so much that they couldn't bend them back to fit me and expected me to be ok with it. I took them anyways after a few days of them popping off my ears I called back saying these frames would not work. Again the technician and the manager were both short and rude. I ended up buying frames out of pocket. After wearing the glasses and trying to adjust to the new script, I noticed that something was off. I kept telling them something was off and they wouldn't do anything. Finally I went to another eye center and paid again out of pocket for an exam. To learn that indeed the script was wrong. I go back to Edgebook about to lose my mind. And I got Judi....Judi is amazing she listened and she got me in to see Dr. Hill to make the needed adjustments. I am now waiting on these glasses to come in and am very hopeful that they will be right. Dr. Hill is great and Judi saved the day by taking time out to listen and help me. I felt she sincerely cared about my eyes. Thank you Judi. I hope you see this!

We use Edgebrook Primary Eye Care for all our vision related healthcare. The Doctors and Clinical Staff are very careful and thorough. They are very willing to answer questions or discuss my eye related issues. I have never felt rushed at any appointment. Technically they are very up to date with procedures and equipment. We feel like we get the best vision care that we've ever had at Edgebrook Primary Eye Care. We would recommend them highly.

We have been patients here for years because we like the doctors. That's where it ends. Frames are ungodly expensive even with good insurance. We order contacts every year with the price match guarantee. Sounds great except every year we order and at pick up they try and up the price. We then have to haggle to get the price that was agreed to at ordering. They are ordered with one price agreed to by associate at ordering and then at pick up they say they are $20-30 more a box. Their excuse today "they didn't have the authority to price match because they (employee who agreed)weren't the manager". What a horrible way to do business. Classic bait and switch! I agree to order based on price and they change it after order. How is this good business? Its NOT! I hope people wake up to this and stop using them. I'm sure I can find a good doctor somewhere else.

We came in close to closing so I could tell the front desk were not very happy, BUT the tech that handled us named ATAVIA was AMAZING!!! She was soo sweet and VERY PROFESSIONAL. She used words like yes sir, yes mam etc. She was so nice and when the front desk staff TURNED OFF THE LIGHTS while my husband was still trying on frames she even went and turned them back on for the area we were in, and didn't even seem bothered by the fact that we were there so close to closing. She literally gave me the BEST service then ANY PLACE I have been to in Rockford! Honestly! Her professionalism is in a way that has become RARE! SHE MADE THIS EXPERIENCE THE BEST FOR US! Hope this place realizes what they have in her.. A GEM! :)

Danielle Thompson

Not impressed. Took father here and waited for over 2 hours. They were also very rude at the front desk. Will never bring him back here

Christina Mosby

There is an awesome Optometrist here, his name is Dr. Roger H. Hill!!! He is accurate, swift, kind, and professional! I haven't had an eye Dr. who got my prescription so accurate that I WANT to wear my glasses everyday!!! I don't feel like the ground is moving, and I don't have that dizzy feeling when I'm wearing my glasses!!! He takes his time with you even though he's really quick! It's weird how you feel like you got in and out of there so fast, but you also feel like he took his time!!! He explains what's going on with your eyes, and he has I don't know what you call her but it's the girl who does like the x-rays and things on your eyes before the doctor comes in to see you!!! She is awesome as well I don't remember if she's the same girl I had last year but her name is Ericka and she's awesome as well! A million thanks to Ericka and Dr. Hill for all you do to keep your customers happy!!! I gave them 4 stars because the clerks at the front desk can be rude but PLEASE DON'T LET THEM STOP YOU FROM SEEING DR. HILL!!! He is the best in Rockford 5 Star Dr. Fat 2 1/2 front desk!!! #HappyToSeeAnotherYear #IllBeBack

I've seen Dr Hillman since moving to Rockford almost 8 years ago. He has always given me a very thorough exam with professionalism and courteous attention. He recommended a surgeon for cataract surgery which also was a positive experience. I just saw Dr Hillman this past Wednesday and as usual, it was a very complete and through exam. He is a pleasure to work with and I feel very confident in his abilities and my ongoing eye care.

The workers are very rude not only to me as a parent but also to my son as well. They have zero patients with toddlers with disabilities. They made me feel very much so out of place there considering the insurance I have for my son as if I was less important. The vert first time I got my son prescription done and got them back the glasses were so strong that he was physically ill from wearing them I took them back and the man that helped me told that I was crazy his prescription was not off by that much and I was over exaggerating about how my son had reacted.... I would rate them a negative 10 if I could

I am here right now waiting to be seen for my 11:30 appointment and it is 12:15. Expect to wait 45 min to an hour for your appointment. Who knows, I guess I am still waiting! Maybe it will be more! Had to go to the desk 3 times to ask when I would be taken back by a technician. and was told I was next.

Alan Shaw

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I had the choice whether I wanted the atropine dilation. Knowing I would be staring at a setting sun all the way home, I chose not to this time and they were fine with the decision. The technician did a great job adjusting my nose pad lining up my bifocals better. As one in the health care profession, I know how important treating the client as a partner in patient health can be. You all did a great job! Keep up the good work!

Debra Dover

Dr.Hill was excellent.I have not seen this well in years.thanks so much.

Evan

I went in to have my frames adjusted. The opticians and other staff were very helpful and pleasant. Waiting time was short.

Ken Berger

I have been going here for years. Great eye care center, with caring, professional staff. Some staff are better than others at adjusting glasses and prices are up there on the good stuff, but they do have a wide variety to choose from.

PC Tech2U

Had a great visit from the techs to the doctors everyone was on time and very quick but thorough, picked out my glass measured me and off I went such a great experience. Thanks.

I have gone her for over a year now for myself, and two oldest girls. We love Edgebrook Eye Care- they are patient and friendly with the children. I feel their examinations are thorough and I can trust the information they give me. I will continue to keep them as our eye care specialist and would recommend them to friends.

I came to Edgebrook Primary Eye Care (EBPEC) when I learned that my long-time doc (Dr. Kittle) was practicing again here. I had great expectations since I had always thought of Dr Kittle as very thorough and considerate in his practice and recommendations. So now I've had 4-5 visits over a couple of years and I have to say - Very pleased I have the opportunity to have Dr Kittle again for my eye care . . . but as for the rest of the experience at EBPEC I'd have to say that they seem a bit unorganized, and even unknowledgeable depending who you are dealing with and on what day. This is a large practice by my assessment . . . . I've referred to them as a "Costco of Eye Care" to some people I've spoken with about my experiences; and Costco not necessarily in the good way, as very good products at great prices. But in that this place is always extremely busy when dozens of employees running about. In the couple of visits I've had the first visit resulted in being over billed by ~$100 for my visit and contact lenses which after a little work with Sarah was cleared up, but from my own experience and listening to the technicians that actually sell you your glasses/lenses when I've been WAITING, it seems like they are almost working on commission with a tendency to guide you toward higher cost products and add-ons (can you say "money-maker".) On another visit (I wear rigid gas perm contacts) I returned to have one of the lenses "remarked" (a small "black" dot applied to the edge of one lens) so that they can be differentiated between right/left; a practice that I have always had with my lenses (over 25 yrs.) In my experience the "marking" usually lasted 1-2 yrs before becoming almost too light to see. When I explained to the office staff/receptionist what I wanted she seemed like she had never heard of the process, but she took my lens and moved to the back room to have a discussion about what I wanted with a group of techs that were gathered there; I could see and hear their discussions. Eventually one of the techs indicated that she "knew how to do it" and disappeared with my lens for about 15 minutes. When my lens was returned it had a nice dark "dot", great . . . . not so great, the "dot" was completely gone after one wearing; just one WEARING and no cleaning. This resulted in the need for a follow up visit where my issue ('marking" my lens) was handled by the office mgr. Again for whatever reason the marking does not seem to be nearly as "permanent" as I am used too and is disappearing after 5-6 weeks. The office mgr indicated I should get two different colored lenses to differentiate; I've never had an issue with the "marking" in 25+ years . . . . . . In closing, the only reason I'm personally with EBPEC is for Dr Kittle. If I could I would give 5-stars for Dr Kittle and 2-stars for the EBPEC operation.

I've been coming here for the past two years for routing eye exams and fittings. The doctors are good, but the staff is horrible - not knowledgeable about health care providers, difficult to deal with and terrible attitudes. Regardless of how basic your needs are, they will require you to come in for a visit (charge you) and they will not work with insurance companies on your behalf. I have decided to leave and go to another facility due to the incompetence and rudeness of their staff.

Was able to walk in first thing in the morning and get help with picking out new glasses and sunglasses. The staff member who helped me was super helpful and had good suggestions for which glasses to pick. Also gave me extra copies of receipts for insurance and personal use.

Regina K

Been coming to this office for years. I don't know what has changed. But now it is very disorganized. Not knowledgeable about the product or insurance plans. And now I have glasses, which I have had for 4 months and they give me severe eye strain headaches. With the out of pocket that I paid (since the insurance wasn't applied correctly and got tired of trying to explain it), these should be right. I will be going somewhere else in the future.

Theanna Lopez

Very rude when I called to ask a simple question. The lady who answered the phone was rude and had an attitude..

Mary Jo Nelson

There are always friendly people at the front desk to wait on you,. I always enjoy the girls who start out the exam process before I see the doctor. They are happy and make you comfortable. My doctor is Irina Rutkowski, and I really like her. She is very thorough and helpful. A great place to get a full eye exam!

Het Patel

Don't go this place because I am not satisfied with this location.if you want to stuck with this people your choice

Dr. Anderson is the best. Very thorough. I like these guys

Went to Edgebrook today for an eye exam and had Dr. Hill. First and foremost he completely skipped the contact portion of the exam despite it being part of what will be billed to my insurance. In addition, it was disclosed after the fact that insurance wouldn't cover the contact portion of my exam. The tech who did the pre-exam tried to diagnose me and tell me I didn't need glasses despite the fact he was not at all qualified to do so. Once it came time to pick out frames I was told the frames I selected were sold and I would have to wait 3 weeks. 10 minutes later I was told those frames were available for me. When breaking down the costs to me I was told that the frames were a $120 cost to me, meaning the frames were being sold for $300. I found the same frames online without insurance discount for $125. I feel like Edgebrook has been deceptive and more in the business of making money than caring for patients. Choose a place that doesn't herd people around like cattle.

Best eye doctor I've ever been to.

Jessica Irons

In general, I really like my doctor - she is smart, knowledgeable, helpful, etc. The various technicians and people who work the front desk are not. Especially when I call the office, the front desk staff seems to be unaware that they work in an eye care office, don't do a good job of leaving messages for doctors, seem to struggle with basics. I keep coming back, though, because it is a nice office, I like my doctor, and I feel I have had pretty good service. I do wish there were more women's frames to choose from.

Kylie Williams

Primary Eye Care is hands down the BEST privately owned optometrist office my family and myself have ever been to. The front desk ladies and gentleman are extremely welcoming and friendly. They walked me through the entire process from start to finish. Every question I had pertaining to the services I was going to receive, along with insurance questions, were all answered. Not only was the facility very clean, the doctors and technicians were very knowledgeable and thorough. After my appointment, I needed glasses and the wait time for an available optician was little to no time. I was made aware that if I didn't see what glasses I wanted, they would order in frames to try on with zero obligation. That kind of attentiveness, you can find no where else in northern Illinois. The entire staff was very accommodating. If you want your glasses made right, and and a full comprehensive eye exam for the whole family, you will not regret giving Primary Eye Care your business!!!

John Le

Let me preface this review has nothing to do with the in-office care. I called in and needed a prescription faxed to the pharmacy or myself. The receptionist answered and told me all the technicians were busy and they would give me a call back. Two days later, no call back. So I decided to call them again. This time a technician was available and said she would fax me the prescription. I called back at the end of the day because I still hadn't receive the prescription. The reception answered again and told me they thought I wanted them to fax the prescription to the pharmacy and I told her faxing it to me or the pharmacy would work. She told me she would tell the technician. Another day later, still no prescription. I called back AGAIN the next day to remind them and the receptionist told me the technicians were on break and that they would give me a call back once they were done. This time (to my surprise) I actually received a call back, only to hear that I would have to come in to the office I order to receive my prescription. Why couldn't they have told me that the first time I talked to them? Needless to say, their over-the-phone customer service is horrible. However, I never had a problem with them in-office.

I accidentally bent my eyeglass frame, and I took it to Edgebrook Primary where I had purchased it, for an evaluation. The young lady who waited on me took great pains to adjust my frame so I could wear my glasses until my replacement frame arrives. I was lucky that the frame was still under warranty, so I get a new one for free. Thanks for the help!

Meg Hafer

My eye doctor was terrific. Did the most thorough exam I have ever had. Asked me tons of questions and just really took the time most doctors do not do now. In terms of the sales staff (I believe separate company) they try to up-sell for things not needed. The non glare coating for instance- several price points and she was pushing me to go high even though my awesome eye doctor said not necessary. I appreciated his honesty. I will go back.
