Dr.Ivie is amazing. He is always learning about the newest products to help his patients. My daughter has been begging for contacts. So we went to Dr.Ivie and he hooked us up with a hard contact she wears at night. This contact correct the shape of the eye therefor correcting her vision to 20/20 for 24 hrs. So durning the day she is free of glasses and contacts!! There are many other positive benefits to this for children. So thanks Dr.Ivie for taking the time to help my daughter!!

The most incompetent reception staff I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. My wife called to make an appointment and provided vision insurance info to be sure they excepted it before taking 2 hours off work to make the 3 hour round trip drive. They confirmed they did in fact take Federal Blue Cross insurance. Upon arrival my wife was informed that they apparently don't take all federal blue cross and it's apparently the customer's responsibility to know which ones they do and don't take. Needless to say, trying to explain how unacceptable that was only gets thrown back as being your fault that you don't know which Federal Blue Cross vision plans they actually accept. I can only hope their doctors are more competent. Be careful INL, you may not have the correct Blue Cross either. I feel sorry for anybody that will, no doubt, go through this here. And don't forget, it's your fault that you don't know what insurance they take!!! One star is way to gracious!

Dr. Ivie is AMAZING! My kids think going to the eye doctor is fun. He is very kind and patient and you can tell he truly cares. My previous eye doctor seemed frustrated and impatient when I didn't like my contacts, but Dr. Ivie is willing to change my contacts and try to find something that works and is comfortable- he helped me to find contacts that work great for my picky eyes.

We had an emergency referral from our regular doctor to see Dr. Ivie at Family Vision. They took us in the same morning without fuss. Dr. Ivie was excellent at his exam, explanations and in-office treatment. We've found our regular optometrist now for future glasses and other eye needs.

The only reason we are even giving one star is because we weren't given a choice to leave none. My husband called in and spoke to the receptionist on the phone when he made the appointment, he told her his insurance provider and was told there wouldn't be any fee, his insurance would cover it all. So we made the appointment, paid $30 for a babysitter for our kids for the day so he could make it in, and he drove down from Blackfoot. Once he got there the receptionist told him that some policies had changed with his insurance in January and there was normally a $120.00 fee he would have to pay, but since they had told him on the phone it would be free she was going to apply some discounts to lower it to a $20 copay, plus the fee for his contacts, he agreed with that and signed the forms for his insurance. After the appointment they charged him $80 and he still has to pay for his contacts. I called the office to talk to the lady to try and work something out they lied to me and told me my husband was fully aware of the fees and signed a form, but as I previously stated, he was told she was going to only charge him the $20 copay and took her word. I am super disappointed in this office, we thought the awesome reviews and "Family" name meant they were a reputable company, but we will not be returning and in our opinion it is a waste of time to go there. I did not appreciate the way the receptionist treated me in our call either, she was rude and accused my husband of being a liar. We had priced out other offices and would have chosen one more affordable had we known this was how we would be treated.

I love going to see Dr Ivie. He is very friendly, professional and answers every question that I have. I had Lasik surgery in March 2016 and he was so great with all my follow up/after care. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Highly recommend Family Vision Associates to anyone!

I ansolutely *love* Dr. Ivie at Family Vision Associates in Idaho Falls. I have somewhat of a complicated case, but he has been so dedicated to finding the right course for me. As an uninsured person I was pleasantly surprised with how affordable it was given how many times I had to be seen. The front office was also really sweet and helped me learn to apply my new contact with patience and helpful tips. They are always very prompt and return calls quickly. We love this place. The entire staff is really friendly and very helpful. They are very knowledgeable about different insurance plans and can intelligently discuss covered elligibilities as well as realistic financial options. The doctor we worked with is amazing and makes you feel like family. I had a laundry list of what were probably considered silly or obvious questions about contacts for kids and they took the time with me over the phone to explain it. Ive never felt connected to any optometrist practice but this is truly a Family Vision Center.

I moved into town and I was looking for a new place. When I called the front staff was super nice and found a time that worked well for me. Upon arrival, again the staff was friendly and answered all my questions and made me feel welcomed. Dr. Ivie has a great bedside manner and you can tell he is very knowledgeable and enjoys educating during his exam. He recommended the best contacts for me since they don't carry the ones I had previously. I'm so happy I found such a great place and I highly recommend FVA!!!!

UPDATE: I went there again for another appointment and another lady was hired that was so nice and that lady that was rude before was much nicer. Still love Dr. Ivie. Great doctor! I'm only giving 2 stars because Dr. Ivie is such a wonderful doctor, however, the blonde woman that does all the glasses ordering and fitting is rude and acts like she hates her job and dealing with people in general. That was my experience and I called back and spoke to the office manager and she apologized and told me that she would speak to the woman about it and that the woman was stressed out, but that is no excuse. I went back when I was called to pick up my son's glasses that came in and the office manager fitted my son in his new glasses at the receptionist counter. Did not even take us into the glasses section to properly fit him into his new glasses and we left with his glasses still crooked on his face. The tension in that office was so uncomfortable and that blonde heavyset woman who was so nasty to us was with customers but was peering at us. Terrible customer service! So embarrassing for Dr. Ivie! I will not be going there anymore!

My kids and I have been going to Dr. Ivie for years. I have always liked him as a doctor. I have had issues with billing but it has been taken care of. I have never gotten glasses there because of their prices. When I saw the new doctor Dr. Oswald, he suggested I change my prescription. I looked at some glasses and got a quote for the cost. I told her I would compare pricing at other places. A week later I went in to get a brochure on a new eye drop and looked again at glasses. I picked the same ones I picked the first time. I told her I would go ahead and order them. the amount came to be almost 25.00 more but she said she couldn't figure out why. I called them back less than 24 hours later to cancel and was told I couldn't cancel. At no point was I ever told there were NO cancellations. The only thing I was told is it takes 7-10 business days. When I called the office manager she told me too bad so sad. I was responsible for the full amount regardless. Not too happy about the customer service. while writing this, i got a voicemail saying they were able to cancel my order. Funny how when you tell them you are not going to pay for them they find a way to cancel. The doctors on the other hand are great!

I have been wearing glasses for 30 years, and have been to many eye doctors. Family Vision is EASILY the most friendly office I have ever set foot in - starting with the person who answered the phone when I called to make an appointment, continuing with the pre-exam tests, the eye doctor himself, the (immensely patient) person who helped me pick frames - just every single person in the office is friendly. You can also tell that they know what they're doing, and that they take the time to make sure they do it right - AND they make sure that you as a patient understand what they're doing as well. After several offices that missed parts of my vision that I knew needed help, and that just wanted me back out their doors as soon as possible, Family Vision was an incredibly refreshing experience. I will definitely be going back to them for all of my optometry needs!
