Dr Jon Portis & the staff at Sugiki Portis Eye Center are the best! Every time I've had a problem (scratches, inflamation, etc) they've always been so accommodating and able to fit me into their busy schedule. They're very professional, courteous, compassionate & provide excellent patient care to myself & my family. In my case, I have a unique condition and I value that my physician finds ways to provide me the best sight I can possibly achieve, research options & new innovations, give me feedback on the benefits of his research & actually shares what he thinks would be the best for me. I had LASIK done from Dr. Portis on 6/23/16 and the result is extraordinary! I am still in shock that I can see so well! My eyes were really, really bad. I wore glasses since the 1st grade. Remember the glasses with the really thick frames AND lens, I had those! Dr. Portis makes you feel so comfortable and is very informative from start, during, to finish. The procedure itself doesn't take very long, and like I said, I am truly amazed at the results. I highly recommend Dr. Portis for LASIK or any other eye care needs.

I had been wearing glasses since I was in Kindergarten and I really wanted to get Lasik eye surgery. I was very hesitant because of the fear of what could go wrong. Many friends and colleagues kept encouraging me to do it. It took my boss, who is a surgeon, to finally convince me that it was safe and worth at least a consultation. He recommended Dr. Portis because he is very meticulous and will check your eyes to make sure you are a candidate for the surgery. I am 4 months post-surgery and have 20/20 vision in both eyes. I can wake up, open my eyes and see clearly. I am so glad I was able to muster up the courage to go through with the surgery. Best decision ever!

I was recommended to Dr. Portis by a family member who spoke very highly of him after undergoing LASIK surgery in his care years ago. Dr. Portis was indeed greatly informative and patient, answering any questions that I had in mind and being very friendly throughout. I recently decided that it was my turn to get LASIK with him, and the procedure was as quick and easy as the recovery afterwards. I can say with personal confidence that Dr. Portis and his team are not only incredibly pleasant to work with, but also extremely skilled. Waking up in the morning and now being able to see the time on my clock without the use of contacts or glasses is a little thing in life, but it gives me a smile every time.

I picked Dr. Portis after quite a bit of research in to eye doctors on the island knowing I wanted to see if I could get lasik. After consulting with Dr. Portis he recommended PRK eye surgery as opposed to lasik for a variety of reasons he clearly described. I got PRK surgery yesterday to correct my near sideness and already I can see better than before the surgery. When deciding between PRK and lasik lots of people make PRK sound scary but it was a really easy, painless process. Dr. Portis does a very complete pre-op to make sure you understand everything that is going to happen and is very patient with questions and nervousness. Would highly recommend to anyone considering it.

I recently went to Sugiki Portis Eye Center to see Dr. Michael Yim about my glaucoma symptoms. He is new there but was very professional in his diagnosis and was very thorough on every test that we did and explained what the test was for. Rather than just telling me what the end result of the tests were he went over each part to explain what specifics can cause glaucoma and how my results were compared to that of a person that doesn't have glaucoma. I felt very comfortable going to see Dr. Michael Yim and would highly recommend seeing him.

I was very pleased with my experience at Sugiki Portis Eye Center. My visits and treatments with Dr. Jon Portis were a world away from previous experiences elsewhere. It was good to be treated with professionalism, compassion, and care. Dr. Portis and his staff made me feel that I was in safe hands. Dr. Portis spent extra time with me to methodically and accurately diagnose my eye condition. He was the only doctor who listened to me and was able to resolve my vision issues. He gave me hope! The front office, technicians, and surgery center staff members were so friendly and caring, and always made me feel welcome and at ease. This was the best team of medical staff I have been around. The appointment and insurance coordinators were so efficient from presenting treatment plans to scheduling procedures with pre and post-op appointments. It was apparent they all work together well. The waiting and examination rooms were impeccable. Dr. Portis is an avid photographer, and the walls were maticulously decorated with stunning pictures of amazing animals from all parts of the world. I am so grateful for Dr. Jon Portis and his great team. I highly recommend this office.

I wouldn't recommend Dr. Portis. He is very judgmental towards to disability patients. He only met a patient for 10 minutes and made decisions based on only ten minutes of his visit. This reeks of discrimination. Highly not to recommend for any patients.
