Everyone was cheerful, friendly, helpful, very attentive, and compassionate. Such a welcome and very much appreciated change from where I have been going for my eye care needs! I have been suffering from an eye injury for almost a month and it was so encouraging and such a huge relief to be treated in a calm, professional, and knowledgeable manner by the surgical team. There are other reasons I like EyeSight Hawaii but these are the best.

I had laser procedure called peripheral iridotomy, due to a higher than normal pressure in my eyes, which can cause problems. Dr. Catherine Makin, D.O. was so great explaining everything so well and everyone there was professional, welcoming, and helpful. Everyone made me feel at ease. I was taken on an emergency basis, and was seen and treated immediately. Dr. Makin and her staff were friendly, accommodating, thorough, and completely professional. On another (emergency) visit the following day, she actually came back into the office after hours to see me. I live in New York, and was seen by a renowned retinal specialist there on my return, and he was extremely impressed by her work. Maui is tremendously fortunate to have her and her team.

Dr. Makin is an excellent surgeon, very gentle which translates to speedy recovery. I'm 78 and hearing impaired so eyesight is very important to me. I had cataract removed from both eyes and also ptherigium prior to surgery, total of 3 procedures. Her staff is excellent and so was that of the surgery center. I was fortunate to avail myself of such an excellent and gentle surgeon. Also Dr. Gapsis is excellent and provides excellent treat meant for glaucoma . My wife was amazed at my rapid recovery and for she had the same procedure done at another center and will not go back to that center!! I have and will continue to recommend Dr Makin.
