Dr Bordenca is the BEST!! My son had double Strabismus eye surgery with zero post op issues! Dr Bordencas bed side manner was very comforting and he is very thorough. I cannot wait to see him on our post office visit to thank him! He did a great job! I highly recommend Dr Bordenca for your child's care. You will be glad you did!

This office was a big disappointment. I waited with my one year old for over an hour in a tiny waiting room that was packed with other people who were also waiting forever. The receptionist was nice to me but she was very rude to other people who were checking in that had special circumstances and made everyone uncomfortable in the waiting room. When we were finally seen, the assistant didn’t explain anything she was doing to me while she dilated my son’s eyes (which I figured out was what she was doing way after the fact), then we waited another half hour to see the doctor, who came in and also didn’t explain anything he was doing while he did it. He proceeded to tell me my son needed glasses and was very far sighted, didn’t explain anything about glasses or how to handle them to me and walked out. He was seriously in there for about 2 minutes. Then another assistant came in and told me about the glasses, but I was trying to figure out what to do since my son also wears a helmet. She was very unhelpful and didn’t know how I would be able to have my son wear both but still wanted me to choose which glasses to order (meanwhile my son is screaming because his eyes are hurting). Finally after about ten minutes of me telling her that I’d have to check with my son’s other doctor about his helmet before ordering glasses, she told me in a very annoyed tone that my son was probably crying because his eyes hurt from being dilated (mind you I had no idea why he was freaking out this whole time). I’ve never had glasses and neither has my husband, so I had no idea what they were doing and no one explained to me. I would NOT recommend this office at all.

It was ok and a clean place but the eye doctors literally rushed the whole process it was like they had to hurry up and get to lunch or something my son was only in the examine room for 2 mins then the doctor said, “he’ll need glasses in 2 years, see you then” and that was it, I was like what the heck? I didn't even get to ask 1 question they were rushing me back out to the exit. I drove 40 mins to this facility because I thought it would be a good office to go to, I do not think I’ll be returning, I’ll try another location.

My daughter was seen in the Lawrenceville office today. From check in to check out, the process went smoothly. Dr. Bordenca and his assistant worked well with my 5 yr old. My child is shy but his assistant had her talking and doing all test she required. So impressed with the practice and the knowledge of all staff!

They made my little 3 year old now 4 feel comfortable. They explained her eye condition which is serious I a way that I understood. They are very kid friendly. They seem to be a very busy office but I've never had to wait to long.

My review is based on customer service when you’re not physically standing inside of the doctor’s office. If you need to call about anything, GOOD LUCK! It’s almost impossible to get them in the phone, anyone to return a call, or answer an email. I called at 4:15pm to have a prescription called in because I was out-of-town and I left my child’s medication at home. I got the answering service that not only informed me they could not relay a message but they were not allowed to bother the staff for refills. Remind you...the office is supposed to be OPEN until 4:30pm. This is my second time running into a prescription issue, the first time it was never called in after I was verbally told it was. We had to wait until Monday to get it straightened out. Very unprofessional, I would not recommend the Lawrenceville location or the other if they have the same staff. I don’t know who is responsible for processes and protocol but as a medical provider, they need to act more urgently on behalf of their paying customers.

Dr B is very nice and professional but the costumer service is below standard. I called to make an appointment for my son and their first available was end of August. Dr B himself has told me several times “ call me and we will work your son in since he has a recurring issue”. I don’t see how this is “working a patient in “ when you don’t have access to care. I even asked to be seen by another provider and it was the same issue.

Unfortunately, my poor experience with this office started when I called to make the initial appointment. The person on the phone helping me book our first visit made it very clear that taking my information and helping me schedule something was possibly the last thing she wanted to do. Her disinterest was palpable on my end of the phone. That's fine, people have bad mornings. I arrived at the appointment 15 minute early as specified in the email and waited...and waited...and waited...for 2 hours. When finally another patient's mother ( because there were many like me) and I approached the desk to find out what was going on, we where met with hostility and told that he was squeezing in a lot of people that day. We conveyed that it would have been nice to have received a heads up about the wait time but we're literally told that they were too busy to come tell patients that they were running behind. Finally made it back for the doctor, who we were with for less than 45 seconds, to flash a flash light across my son's eyes and tell me he looked great. Happy that he claims my son has no issues but concerened that we were rushed out and he didn't receive a proper exam. Frankly shocked by the number of good reviews this office has.

The front desk is always nice and attitudeless. Dr. B has a smile and is very patient with my child. He seems to remember is from year to year and even if that's not three case he familiarizes himself with my child's file before we are called back. I love the professionals associated with CHOA.
