Dr. Evans and the surgical safe were awesome. I was so nervous about my cataract surgery and they all made me feel at ease. The surgery was quick and painless. Thank you!!

The staff has been most courteous with every interaction.

Absolutely amazing surgeon! 20-25 vision right out the hospital door. Best in the State as far as I am concerned. Dr. Dong is as good as they get.

The Elberton office is Awful. You go in for one service and then charged for something else and then have to pay for a prescription. Beware. Talk to them up front before seeing the doctor.

Sadia Hoque

Not a long waiting time and I was treated kindly.

Dr. Dong seems to be a very competent doctor. He doesn't spend much time with patients, but listens carefully to questions and provides good answers. He will answer all your questions. He diagnosed my condition accurately and provided effective treatment. He doesn't spend much time with each patient, but he seems sharp and I think he does a good job. He and his staff provide the needed follow-up. His staff is courteous. (Only one nurse there did procedures to me without telling me what she was doing - very annoying, especially when you can't see! Medical people, please don't do that!) They've had quite a back log of patients the 3 times I've been there. I've waited an average of 1.25 hours to see the doctor, which seems too long. BUT, when it's been an emergency, they have fitted me in at short notice, for which I'm eternally grateful. It's a much better wait than at the ER! I think the wait is more annoying when you're going in for a routine check-up.

The most thorough eye exam I have ever had. Staff was friendly and professional. Did not have a long wait.

So this place takes various insurances, I suppose they're generous in some way to take low income insurances when it is so hard to find medical care, but I am quite frankly astonished that this place is able to afford the rent on such an attractive street in Athens with the sort of service they provide. Perhaps it is just that they give a less quality service to lower income families? My son had an eye exam with them on a Tuesday afternoon. After the exam, we asked about picking out glasses, and the nurse that saw us gave us the impression that the selection of glasses they have for people with low income insurance is so mighty, so grand, that they have to have people only come by on Tuesday MORNING and Thursday morning of every week, because it's just so much work and space to pull it all out. So we came back to the office on Thursday to pick out glasses, and they literally pull six plastic trays of glasses from under a table, that takes up zero room at all, for us to pick from. I have never in my life been to an optometrist, even mall level, that doesn't fit us for and sell us glasses, conveniently, in the same visit, but apparently this small collection of frames takes up one table top's worth of room and can be easily moved back and forth to it's storage space when needed is soooooo inconvenient for this space that they have to make people come BACK for a second visit. In spite of how well we filled out our forms, they misspelled my son's very basic name, and added a whole new word to our address on the printed prescription that they gave us. Told me that we would have our glasses within four weeks, which was the longest time that I've ever heard of to get glasses, and I've been getting them since the early eighties. Five weeks later, I hadn't gotten a phone call, I call in, and the receptionist tells me that they don't fill prescriptions for the doctor that my son saw, that the girl that we worked with doesn't work there anymore, and they have nothing else to offer me, not even an apology. I mean, I guess if you're just desperate to waste a lot of your time, come here? I'll drive out of the county to find another eye doctor first.

Lissy Mae

They were very understanding and very concerned about my eyes to get the strength I need in my glasses since my last check up.

Megan Powell

I had a kertoacanthoma on my lower eyelid and Dr. Evans removed it. The scarring has been so minor and I can't believe how quickly it healed and how good it looks. The bottom right photo is 12 days after I had it removed.

Brianna Stephens

Instead of going to target or vision works to get my eyes checked, I decided to go to have a more personal experience. I went in for a routine eye appointment and got stuck with a 300$ bill for an appointment that should have cost me $20. In the end, he decided to not even update my prescription. He had the nurses run a whole bunch of tests only to find that there was nothing seriously wrong with my eyes. They didn't tell if the tests were covered or how much it would cost. The doctor was very condescending at times and didn't even spend that much time with me. I won't ever be going back to them again.

Dr. Dong is a good doctor, it's the nurses who see you before you see him that I have a problem with. Some of them like to tell you their opinions of what they see in an exam, and are pessimistic about it. Stick to the medical and keep your opinions of what you "think" something looks like and your grimaces to yourselves. Oftentimes Dr. Dong will say it is something that can be cured and not be pessimistic like the nurses.

Emily Parker

My son was seen here. The doctor was nice. However, the receptionist was extremely rude. We won't be back.

Elsa Shaw

Had a wonderful experience with our daughter here the first time, they were kind and gentle and really good with kids. We happily scheduled a second appointment, months out because they are always always booked up months in advance. Less than a week before our appointment we got a letter in the mail saying that they would no longer be accepting any Peachcare or Medicaid insurance plans as of the day before our appointment. I called and asked if they could fit us in before that cut off date since we had been waiting months already and they hadn't informed us when we scheduled our appointment. No, sorry, they said. There is literally no other ophthalmologist in Athens that accepts Care Source outside of Walmart. So disappointed.

Rhonda Cliett

Very long waiting time but considering what these people do it is well worth it. They have a lot of patients so you need to have a lot of patience. I have heard Dr. Dong is one of the best opthamologist and he is in high demand. I am seeing Dr. Evans who is young and new to the practice. He tells me he's good so I have to believe him. I really love this place and everyone is so very nice.

Dr. Evans performed the best vision examination that I have ever experienced. Now, after my LASIK procedure, I see perfectly and am finally free of contacts.
