Was referred to Dr. Frenkel by my doctor at May Clinic since I'm complicated and have macular deneneration and glaucoma and need specialized treatment. Apparently he's the only ophthalmologist near Stuart with a national reputation. Office is on the water and beautiful and clean, staff is excellent and very knowledgeable. Dr. Frenkel was compassionate, very thorough and completely in agreement with my Mayo doctor. My treatment was highly successful.

My wife was referred to him by Johns Hopkins after having been seen by several ophthalmologists in Florida regarding her complaint of decreased vision. No one could find the cause and she was told to use artificial tears. Dr. Frenkel did a number of tests (the Institute is superbly equipped) and a serious problem was identified on a scan that he ordered. She was treated and has fortunately regained vision. Dr. Frenkel is extremely bright (Harvard trained), and has a thoughtful, caring, and comprehensive approach to patients. He doesn’t let things fall through the cracks and he really gets to the bottom of things. A number of our friends have had excellent cataract surgery by him and have also gotten the added benefit of his glaucoma and retina expertise. He is the consummate physician!
