Have been seeing Dr. Scott Willeford for years. He is THE BEST!! Concern about your eye health is very important to him! Husband and I make appointment to see him together and our visit is punctual, informative and comfortable. Don't feel rushed in any way. Staff is also friendly and helpful! I brought my 7 and 5 year old boys here and found out what an excellent place Ritz & Johnson is for children. Dr. "GG" and staff, went out of their way to make the kids feel very comfortable. One of my son's needed glasses and the other didn't, which shows me they are honest and are not just trying to sell everyone glasses like the last eye doctor I previously visited. Highly recommend, especially for children.

The staff is pleasant but a little frantic. When calling expect to be on hold for at least 5 min. Place always seems to be busy and while in the lobby the phone seemed to ring nonstop. It is worth the extra hassle has the Docs are very knowledgeable and they do have a great selection of frames.

They may be a little pricey but what is the price for your eyesight? Dr Willeford pretty much saved my eyesight. It took 5 yrs and 3 other eye doctor's before I finally found someone who cared enough to figure it out. B12 deficiency does affect your eyesight!!! I will never go anywhere else. I have had issues with my eyes my whole life. I started wearing glasses full time a couple years ago and I bought my 2nd pair of glasses here last year and this year I decided to get contacts. Dr Menjivar made my appointments very easy and comfortable to be able to ask any questions needed. I have done a lot of research on the type of eye diagnosis I have and I feel the Dr made it really easy to understand what my options were. I appreciate not only the Dr but the staff as a whole to making my appointment to bringing me to the back and doing the small steps before Dr Menjivar comes in. I would recommend this office to any of my friends and family.

I have used these eye doctors for over 49 years and always had super service. Today I had a different eye problem and the had two new high tech machines that I had never seen before. They printed out the results and went over all the results. Then the did need to refer me to a specialist who the called and set up an appointment right then. I’ve used both Dr. Glatter-Götz and Dr. Willeford and have had great experiences with them. I was referred to Ritz Johnson by a local optometrist as being the place to go for hard to fit contact lenses. I contacted RJ, had my records sent to the office and scheduled an appointment a couple of weeks out. The day before my exam, I recieved an email asking me to confirm, which I did. I was actually looking forward to having my vision improved. I then drove 70 miles (each way) only to be told that the Dr. had found something else to do and was not in the office. The woman at the front desk told me that someone should have called me since everyone but me knew the Dr wasn't keeping appointments that day. She offered to re schedule, and when I told her it was a fairly long drive, all I got was a lukewarm " Well I'm sorry". In my opinion, unless you're willing to gamble on whether or not a Dr. will be keeping the appointment, look into another, more professional eye care provider.

I want to be as honest as I possibly can and I do not want negative comments because this was my personal experience regardless of how many other people have had a wonderful one. I went to Ritz and Johnson mid April and made my purchase through them on 4/29/19. I purchased Ray Ban Havana Glasses and made my decision of how I wanted them to be and look. They stated that my lenses will be there around "10 business days". Around the 15th business day I called and they stated that it usually takes "10-14 days". On 5/17/19, which was my 16th day, I was told that they were ready. I come in and am told that my lenses were ready, but they had to give me temporary frames because the color I ordered had not arrived and that they would arrive approximately 5 more days. On 5/21/19, I received a text message that my frames had arrived. Excitedly, I went in thinking that the hassle of purchasing frames was completely over. Upon waiting, the rep came over and mentioned that the lenses did not fit the frames and that they needed to order new lenses. I just do not see how these people make any profit with all the minor mistakes that they are making. I'm not sure how much longer my new lenses will take or how much longer this problem will persist. Walmart has always been my "Go to" eye doctor and because my insurance did not cover my glasses I decided to go to Ritz. I've never came across this issue before. I am beside myself. When they finally get my order right what will they do with the current glasses I am wearing now? throw them away? toss them aside? what a waste. For all this hassle they should just give me what I ordered and this pair included. I will update my full experience and re-evaluate my review once I receive the glasses I actually purchased.

I had such an amazing experience with Ritz! After an attempt to walk resulted in a scratched eye for my 9 month old, we knew we needed to see an eye doctor pretty quickly. I called the Front Desk and they were so sweet and understanding. Not only did they calm me down by listening and agreeing to work me in that day, they went out of their way to make sure we could be seen as soon as possible. There wasn't a long wait at all and the technician was thorough with our work up. We ended up seeing Dr. Aida Glatter-Gotz who was an absolute pleasure. She was great with my son, extremely meticulous with her exam, and spent so much time explaining what we needed to do to ensure his eye could heal as fast as possible. I will definitely recommend this practice to friends and family, as well as bring my family back again to see their providers. I also found their text appointment reminders super helpful, you can find your appointment forms online so they are prefilled out when you get there, and the entire staff has a friendly-welcoming personality that isn't often found at other offices.

Went for my first visit there this morning. I have worn contacts for 25 years, and I felt that this exam was the most thorough I have ever had. Dr. Willeford is very personable, the staff I interacted with were all very professional, and I thought the prices were reasonable. This is a private group practice, not a corporate one, and I think that makes a huge difference. It seemed like they used the latest tech in comparison to other places I've previously been to. I was also impressed that they had the correct contact lenses in stock for me to try immediately (again, something I have never had before as I have very strong astigmatism). Dr. Willeford regularly lectures to other professionals, and I met him at a lecture he was giving to a local group of dentists on eye health. This guy definitely knows his stuff and I appreciate that he takes the time to educate the community on eye health- something he is obviously very passionate about. Dr. Willeford took the time to talk to me, and to double and triple check that I had the absolutely best prescription match for my eyes- nobody has ever done that before. Thanks Dr. Willeford!

I have to choose my eye care professionals very carefully as my remaining eyesight is in jeopardy. Having lost sight in one eye, and needing monthly treatment in the other, something as simple as needing new glasses isn’t simple at all. I need all the help I can get. I chose Ritz Johnson on the recommendations of others, and I wasn’t disappointed. I found Dr. Menjivar and his assistant Lisa to be warm and very thorough in assessing my needs. I was anxious, but they put me at ease, and I look forward to a long association with them. I don’t have my new glasses yet, but I expect they’ll be perfect, but if not, I feel sure they will work with me to resolve any issues. I like this center very much.

Ritz Johnson saw me this morning for an Emergency visit. The visit was only $80. I don't know why I expected $300- $400. I have a corneal abrasion right below my pupil. He prescribed me medicine that was $246. He sent me to the pharmacy with a "discount card", and it came to $60 even. So for a total of $140 I was seen and got my meds. Very quick service and very very nice doctor who genuinely seemed concerned.

I had a problem with my right eye as long as ten years ago that no matter what test was done no one could tell me what the problem was caused by. This doctor listen and performed a simple test ($60) that took a picture of the inside of my eyes and he was able to identify the cause and make recommendations. I paid over $750 ten years ago and never got an answer . I will go back to this doctor every time

I’ve gone to Dr. Johnson for almost 45 years while dealing with a lazy eye. When he announced he was retiring I felt vey leery about trusting someone else with my vision. Today I met with Dr. Aida Glatter-Götz and she was GREAT. She was very nice, while very professional. She really took her time to explain everything that was going on with my eyes so now my concerns are gone. Hopefully she will be my Dr. for the next 45 years

Dr. Menjivar's staff fought/worked with my insurance company to get me taken care of. Been w the same employer for years, but apparently this year the vision portion of our insurance was changed, no one was notified. So when I came to my appointment I found out I was out of network. Having had a cornea transplant years ago, my eyes are not easy to fit with contacts. I drive to Ocala because of how awesome Dr. Menjavar is with specialty lenses and fitting them.

What a beautiful person overall; she has a way of making you feel as beautiful is she is on the outside. They do have a fairly large selection of glasses available, although I've seen larger, but felt the selection was comparable to cost and quality of the larger chain stores. At this visit for my eye exam, I had doctor Glatter-Götz, she was wonderful. She did not rush me she took time to answer all of my questions and make me feel comfortable about everything. This is extremely important to me because my vision is really really bad. They gave me my contact lens prescription and glasses prescription as well a discount for the contact lenses and a trial pair of contact lenses with a flight size saline. I usually go into an eye exam with some amount of anxiety; Not looking forward to the discomfort and the OMG your vision is sooo bad! This time neither were true, very happy to say

I wasted 4 hours of my PTO because this clinic failed to tell me I HAD to have my eyes dialated even though I told them I was allergic to the dye and it gives me a headache. I have been to over 8 eye doctors all over the country and they NEVER required me to have my eyes dialated. So, I tried to just order new lenses for 3 pairs of glasses and the girl at front desk was so unfriendly, I just decided to take my business elsewhere! Their loss of at least $1000 and a bad review!

Ritz + Johnson is an AMAZING optometrist. I am from Georgia and came down to see my best friend for a Disney trip. The morning of our trip I woke up with the worst eye pain and complete loss of visibility and my best friend had called all over Ocala for an emergency check in. Ritz + Johnson had squeezed me in and when I got there I was in the waiting room for all of 10 mins and they called me back. They did everything to fix my eye and I wound up have an cornea abrasion from contact fishing syndrome. They then numbed my eyes and gave me some antibiotics to heal it and a nonprescription contact lens that acts as a band aid for it. Today was my check up and everything was well and again got in to a room 10 mins and was seen by the Dr. in no time. Best optometrist experience I’ve had. Wish I lived down here.
