I never write reviews... but this experience...it think people need to know about... After calling 3 times, to be put on hold for 12 to 15 minutes each time... the receptionist was extremely rude...and hung up the phone in my face...when i asked her for her name. Cowardly and unprofessional. She was so inhumane, i'm in awe! I will say however, that dr. Diana Shechtman was amazing and one of the kindest dr. i have ever met. I actually looked forward to a follow up appointment with her before i cancelled it. However, with that kind of treatment from the receptionist, i will never return; and would rather start the whole process from scratch with a different dr. even if i have to pay out of network . No one deserves to feel at the mercy of people when there are so many other healthcare professionals who actually value their patients and genuinely want to help.

I have been to several retina Dr's I would say a lot ,and I have really had several of them be very rude and nasty to their employees and patients,once I stepped foot to the RMSM office all the offices it was like day and night compared to where I have been,the whole staff very nice and professional specially the technicians that this organization has and starting with Dr Levy all the way to Dr Lara they are all very caring to their staff and patients and very compationate. If you want good retinal specialists call RETINA MACULA SPECIALIST OF MIAMI.

Dr. Levy is the most compassionate, dedicated experienced Retina specialist in Florida and international that I have ever met. On Monday 15 Feb, my wife, Deborah, who has Macular Degeneration, had an app't Scheduled to see Dr Levy. We are from Michigan vacationing in the Keys. Her doctor in Mich suggested that she continue her therapy while down here as he sees her an a monthly basis. He recommended Dr Levy to do so .While in Mich, early January, she called this office to set one up. Ist question asked by the scheduler was, do we have insurance, she replied yes" BCBS of Mich." She provided all the pertinent info from her card. She was put on hold for a minute, the scheduler came back and said no problem, so they set up the App't so she would not miss a treatment. Monday we drove up from Marathon, 125 miles away 2 1/2 hr trip. We waited in the office for 45 minutes, Debbie was called to the desk and informed that they do not take BCBS form anywhere else but Florida. She told them that they said over the phone a month ago that there was no problem. Shrugged shoulders,No apology given. So, we wasted roughly 7 hours and 250 miles of driving for nothing. The office staff dropped the ball big time on this one. But the bigger issue is that she missed a therapy session with nothing to show for it. NO RATING can be assessed.
