REVIEWS OF Florida Eye Clinic IN Florida

Alex Rhea

Wonderful experience. Every staff member was friendly and wanted to make sure I was happy. The doctor was phenomenal. She spent the time needed to find out what was wrong with me after two other doctors just gave me glasses that did not clear up my vision issue. Very well educated doctors! Will definitely recommend to others.

Karl Salisbury

Dr. Terrill and her staff were excellent. Very friendly and efficient.

Jorge Monterde

Week I come to the Surgical Ambulatory Clinic with Dr. Parks, and all the staff is outstanding everyone deserve a huge recognition for the professional care the provide special kudos to Tammy excellent nurse she provide before and after surgery clear instructions and compassionate care to all the patients.

Purchased my glasses on 7/29/2019. Today is 8/13/2019 and still no call to pick them up. Went yesterday and was told it could take 7-10 days to get them, I told her yesterday was 10 days. She said it could take 2 more days but she wasn’t sure, it might take more. I call them and it sends me to a answering machine. Terrible customer service! Thinking I might call my insurance to get the money back and get my glasses made at some other place.

Tae-Jun Ko

Dr. Terrill and her staff were very friendly and helpful.

Jeff Bridges

Professional, personal and very informative. Dr. Hyman and her staff rock! I've been to a few different optometrists over the last 3 years and Kerry is amazing. I highly recommend her and her staff!

Lourdez Gonzalez

Los empleados no son Cortes con la visita, pero en general todo bien

After awhile your treated like a number.

Great service! Dr. Hyman took her time in examining my eyes, and was very patient with my concerns. I was seen within 10 minutes after arrival. Was very impressed with the staff in obtaining my medical history. When I saw the doctor, everything was set. Dr. Hyman was careful to make sure my questions were answered, and was very patient with me when deciding which test lens was best to correct my vision. Dr. Hyman noticed that I sometimes have dry eyes, and gave me the name of the best eye drops for me. Sure enough, they did the trick. When I got my new glasses, I was very pleased on how much my vision improved. Thanks Dr. Hyman!

We made the right choice coming here Dr Catherine Wang is my husband's surgeon who removed his cataracts. She was very clear, professional and patient with him from the start answering all his questions and giving him her advise on choices between laser and knife and whether to get enhanced or standard lens. She was always right on target and the results are the proof. We could not have asked for a better doctor and a more supporting staff. She has earned our trust.

OEG Productions

Staff is friendly, but the Oftalmologist - Dr. Ricardo Alonso (Floor 201) doesn't have any tact or is very bored to deal with patients. No human interaction, no passion about his job, completely careless... you can see it on his expressions. Not even a human touch or interaction with patients. If a Dr does not treat humans with consideration; I think he should consider another career. Not coming back!

I was expecting the worst, and was extremely pleasantly surprised. As a new patient I arrived 30minutes prior to my 10 AM appointment to fill out paperwork. I was seen promptly by 10:05am. Two wonderful techs (Allison and Mark, I believe), performed several visual tests for a routine eye exam and glaucoma screening, and Dr. Gruenberg saw me after all results were forwarded to him. From the receptionist to the techs and opthalmologist, each staff member was courteous, patient, and respectful. The techs and doctor took their time to explain the results of the exam, and I was done by 11:30am! I never felt rushed or just a number, and they have a very efficient system. I will certainly be returning here.

shamaria davis

Facility nice but some of the nurses are incompetent. I called the day prior to ask will I have a co-pay and they said no. The day of my appointment their hand was out asking for a co-pay. Luckily I had it on me but this could not have been the case for another patient.

Trusting these people is a huge mistake. Needed surgery to fix a dislocated lens, was told it would be a simple thing. 6 months later the surgery never worked and then they try and tell me contact would work and then they couldn't fill that prescription for 2 months. When they finally get the lenses in, they only ordered one pair and it got lost there in the office. Was told I would have to wait another 2 to 4 weeks. Bunch of clowns.

Suzanne Hirst

*extremely long wait time *helpful and friendly office staff *beware the no-show policy

John Barbero

There's a lot of waiting at this place. While most of the service was acceptable, they did a pupil dilatation after I said I've never done that before. What they failed to mention was that I'd not be able to see much for following 4 hours, which as it turns out doesn't work great if you need to drive to your job as a computer programmer... I also wasn't able to see my face when trying out frames, so will probably just go somewhere else to get the glasses. Would not even recommend this place to my arch nemesis.

Lillian Wilson

I went to Florida Eye Clinic with a retinal detachment in my left eye and saw Dr Samantha Xavier. She and the practice went above and beyond trying to get my surgery scheduled as the anesthesiologists wouldn’t clear me due to a recent heart attack in October. Because of that I was finally able to get my surgery on 5/17/18 and just one week out am very pleased with my results. The staff was very kind and helpful and Dr Xavier was fantastic! It is a very busy practice and sometimes you need to wait to be seen but it is well worth the wait as they are excellent with their care. A+++!

Joan Bender

They did not submit my insurance correctly...and it cost me. Had cataract surgery and now I have more "floaters" than before. When I ordered glasses after the surgery they didn't even call me to tell me if They Were in...I couldn't get through on the phone so I had to go in person. The glasses had not been ordered after two weeks and my contacts were sitting on their shelf for a week.

julie maring

Clean facility but getting staff to call back is very challenging

Anna Scroggs

The doctors are amazing. The billing staff is great. The front desk workers are rude and disrespectful. They made me feel dumb for asking easy questions. Such as, what time is best for an annual exam. I've been going to Dr. Anan for 13 years. I've considered changing because of how I was treated at check out.

Dawn Johnson

Daniel Hallaert

Scam. If you are military look out for this place. They phish for information, even saying that I called the m and made an appointment. Never did. DO NOT TRUST.

Krissy Tuck

I had been going here for three years. It wasn't awful but each year I had a different doctor. So there wasn't consistency. The prices are quite high even with insurance. This year I made my appointment a month in advance and they cancelled on the day of due to the doctor not taking my insurance. They claim they called me that morning but there was no phone call. This should have been taken care of when the appointment was made. I took off work to be there. Very frustrating.

On 4/12, I had a stye removed my eye lid by Jochum. The very next day, the injection site puckered and I developed an infection. Of course the office was closed on weekends, so i went to another doctor. I was prescribed antibiotics and referred back to the specialist)Jochum. I contacted the office and spoke w/Terry, RN who wanted me to come back to the Orange City location but I explained that it was a 45-60 min drive and b/c my eye was swollen shut I couldn't drive that far out. She then made arrangements for me to see another MD at the Altamonte Springs office for 4/19. When i checked in, the office staff advised that i had to pay my copay. I was surprised b/c Terry didn't advised that I had too. This visit was due to complications from the procedure but i complied. I just wanted to make sure my eye will be ok. The MD who saw me basically advised that I needed to see Jochum and that there wasn't anything he could do. He also stated that Jochum would be at the altamonte location on 4/22. Upon check out, the staff told me that he was not going to be in on 4/22 but will call me to schedule the first avail. At this point, there wasn't anything else I could do. When i was contacted Dora advised that the next avail appt at the Altamonte location was 5/13. I was upset . I explained that my eye was still swollen despite the infection clearing up and sore, Once again, there wasn't anything else I was able to do. I also ask Dora if I would be responsible for the copay for the 5/13. She stated that she couldn't make that decision and will have the issue looked into. This was on 4/22... fast forward to 5/9, Dora contacted me for my appt reminder. I asked about the copay situation since no one followed up with me. She indicated that she noted it and that the MD will advise. Now here is the day of my appt. I checked in on time and still waited 30 mins for them to call me up to collect my copay. So now I find myself explaining myself a third time b/c all that was noted on my chart is that I didn't want to pay the copay. Needless to say, the woman a t the desk was clueless on what to do so she spoke to a supervisor and informed me that I still had to pay. Total and complete waste of time. No one spoke to me, no one expressed any genuine concern so I left! The experience has been horrible at that office w/ his staff. I had a stye removal done before and never experience such disregard of patient care after they bill the insurance and collect their copay.

Brieanna Vasquez

If I could give 0 stars I would. I called to make a new patient appointment. This office was the first one on my list of providers and my insurance company recommend them. The girl who answered was extremely rude and raised her voice with me when when I questioned her on why they don't accept my insurance. I called my insurance company back who called this office for me to clarify that they DO accept my insurance. I obviously didn't make an appointment after that.

Lorraine Garcia

My experience was wonderful the staff was very professional and sweet the doctor was amazing

KEVIN LEWALLEN

This is for the Florida eye clinic in Orange City Florida. The office workers there leave a lot to be desired. The office is running very chaotic and most of the workers if they're on a phone and don't have someone in front of them are very rude. I've had better action from part-time McDonald's employees. Because of their unprofessionalism I went ahead and found a different eye clinic. Its truly distressing to Ser a staff in that position act so completely unprofessional, indifferent, and have no interpersonal communication skills whatsoever.

Paid for glasses 1 month ago. Still have not received them. No one will talk to me about a refund.

Very professional, careful and knowledgable.

My husband had laser surgery on right eye and everything went smooth sailing. Going for second surgery today on left eye.

Although I was very pleased with my first appointment, they do not accept retired military tri-care for life. All of my other medical facilities do.

Matthew Blood

Horribly slow service requires 3 hours for a basic eye exam and new prescription. I've been going here for three years and it has been consistently bad. I'm moving on to something new.

Arrived here with my 90 yr old dad for an appointment at 10:30A. Almost 4 hours later and he is just seeing a doctor. (Only because I stood in the hallway and continued to ask, what is going on?”) Would not be so upset if this were the first time but, unfortunately it is not!

Excellent service right from the phonecall scheduling my appointment. Convenient location and professional staff! You can tell it's an older building, but everything inside was clean and comfortable. Dr. Feldman made me feel very comfortable and was informative of what he was doing, or testing for, during the entire process. Definitely will recommend this office to my friends, family and associates, and will be sure they will be treated as well as I was

I brought my 5 year old son there because the doctor was supposed to specialize in Pediatrics. He was unfriendly and spoke directly and only to me. Using only medical terminology. The place was dark, dirty and outdated. We had to wait about an hour to be seen by the doctor and were left in a "childs" waiting area. Which was dark and had a very old video playing that kept skipping and the volume was so low that we could not hear it. A total afterthought. In fact think it is safe to say, they are NOT a good place to bring children. I do NOT recommend the Altamonte location unless you are a retiree needing surgery. That is what they specialize in treating.

Charlie Levine

I went to the Michigan office for an eye exam. The Doctor, Ricardo Alonso, was a nice guy and I believe he gave me a thorough exam. My issues all stemmed with the optical department. I am farsighted and I told the woman working in the optical dept that in the past i always needed High Index lenses. She talked me into getting Polycarbonate lenses saying they would be fine and also cheaper. Two weeks later when the glasses finally came in, they were not right. Because of the polycarbonate, I had this strange warping on the edge of the lens and my peripheral vision was blurred. When I told this to the woman (the same one who ordered them) she told me I would "get used to that." I said I didn't want to get used to it, I wanted to see clearly. She gave me attitude and claimed she only ordered "what I told her to." No apology, no nothing. She sent the glasses back in. Two weeks later they come back -- a month has now gone by and I was still without new glasses. I go in and the lenses, now High Index, are fine but the glasses are too loose. She made one adjustment and they were still loose. So, rather than trying to fix them, she said I needed different frame arms. I said 'what? can't you try to adjust them?' She refused to do any more adjustments and ordered new frame arms. She said it'd only take a day. So, when I called the next day to see if the glasses were in I was shocked to learn it would be another two weeks! I told her that I'd never had such difficulty getting a pair of glasses in my life and she hung up on me! I was insensed! I've never ever been treated so poorly. I had to call the office manager, who had to speak to the doctor, and I am now awaiting a refund. Unreal. I've never been treated like this. I would not recommend this office to anyone.

David Forthuber

Have been a client for 12 years, but now cannot even get an appointment despite three calls. Big problems, apparently, on the admin or customer service end.

Are you people for real? Some of the negative comments left here are a joke. One woman fainted on the way home because of her condition and complains that they "let her drive home". Give me a break! As an adult, you need to be responsible for yourself and have someone take you and drive you home if you don''t feel you will be up to it. How is this Florida Eye Clinics fault? Should they have detained you? Grow up. Another genius says that the techs and opticians should have their licenses revoked. Those are Ophthalmologists not Opticians, and you should talk about them being clueless? Get a grip! People complaining about having to wait. Yes you will wait, just like you will in any other doctors office, get over it and thank God that we live in a country where we have the resources available to us for treatment. This is a good Practice with a great staff. Don't be fooled by the nonsense reviews you see here. Florida is full of whiners and complainers and it is exhausting to listen to their negativity.

GOD AWFUL - AVOID AT ALL COST IF YOU’RE LOOKING FOR COMPETENT STAFF THAT ARE ACTUALLY ATTENTIVE TO YOUR NEEDS.

If your wanting to spend you entire afternoon waiting for your appointment even tho you had one scheduled, go right ahead and book an appointment here, or at any other location for florida eye clinic

danielle shepherd

If you have Tricare....DO NOT go to this facility!! They claim they need a referral and after verifying WITH Tricare, they still refused service!! The lady, Debra, sat and argued with me after I verified TWICE with Tricare. AVOID THEM, they do not want to help those with Tricare! PERIOD!!!

Roger Leahey

The best you can get! Dr. Pappas performed laser cataract surgery on both my eyes which included Bausch and Lomb lens implants. I can state that you cannot get a better doctor for this procedure. Dr. Pappas is a perfectionist who will provide you with the best of care. He remains my family’s eye surgeon and we are so happy to have him! If you have not yet had cataract surgery and are wondering what it’s like, it’s a piece of cake. Rest assured that I found it far less stressful than going to the dentist. The laser procedure takes 20 seconds, and the implants only a few seconds more. The amount of discomfort I felt during the procedure was zero. You will be assigned to a team of medical professionals prior to seeing Dr. Pappas who will provide expert anesthesiology to ensure your comfort. I believe most of this anesthesiology is to treat patient apprehension, an apprehension which is actually not warranted. Modern medicine is truly a miracle.

Marie Amaro

Horrible experience straight from the beginning. Extremely rude staff that doesn’t care about their patients. They are always rushing and never call back. I can say with all honesty my eye sight is a lot worse now after all their overpriced “treatments”. If you really care about your eyes and health DO NOT COME HERE.

Donna Winters

High quality! I was really nervous about having cataract surgery. I am also claustrophobic. Dr. Bradley Shoss and his team were so friendly, personable, caring, and understanding. As well as knowledgeable and professional. I go to the Clermont office. Surgery was in Altamonte.

Xavier Andrade

Terriblenservice starting with the Operator to the girl who makes apointments. Or seemed more like didnt want to help schedule anything, dont recomend you try to get help here..... try any other location instead.

Brianna Nicole

I brought my sister here for a simple eye pressure check. We were here for 4 hours. The nurses do nothing but gossip in the hall ways, and they must have very bad communication because we had to see 3 different nurses for some reason and they had no idea why we were there and almost diolated my sister twice. And when they did diolate my sister, the nurse told her there was only one in his posession and it was the strongest. He could've just gone to another room and got a weaker one but he did not. This place is very unorganized, depressing, and a waste of time.

Mattie Sullivan

Dr. Michelle Cho was excellent both when my husband was hospitalized and when she did follow up care for my husband. I highly recommend her to meet any medical problems you have with you eyes. Her colleague, Dr. Natalie Noble is excellent as well. She does a thorough examination which begins with one of her techs and ends with Dr. Noble. The prescription my husband and I received has enabled us to see well at all distances.

My First visit was a great experience, Dr. Nair was Great, all the staff great service. Very Satisfied. Thank you all. God Bless

Very busy office and usual wait for 20-40 minutes but for good cause. Dr. Jochum saved my eye! Very professional and responsive. The wait is just part of the package when you’re good.

I took my mom here for her regular appointment. Maybe I am spoiled by my eye doctor, but this place is really slow. We signed in and sat in the waiting room. They called us and took us to another waiting room in the back, where we waited for a bit. They called my mom, took her into a room where they had her read a chart and checked with various lens variations, and also looked at her eyes. Then we went back out to the waiting room. After a while, someone else called her, took her into another room where they took pics of her eye and optic nerve. Then, back out to the waiting room. The doctor called us, took us into a room, but then he left. We waited there for at least 15 more minutes before he came back and reviewed all the findings and looked at her eyes. Total trip was about 2 hrs. My eye doctor place would have done the whole thing, plus a vision field test for 30 to 45 minutes.

Michelle Moody

Awesome place! Dr. Yokum is very knowledgeable. He's a good surgeon and is kind and patient. The entire office runs very efficiently. Highly recommended.

My wife and I went for exam and glasses. I knew that I was done with progressives and did not want bifocals. I knew this from almost 40 years of experience and knowing my habits, but i was weak upon facing Sal, Master Optician. When he stood up, waving his arms and shaking his head saying, "No, no, no!" I caved and accepted the bifocals he insisted on. After 4 days of wearing the bifocals and succumbing to taking them off to read easier in all close up situations, I finally went back to my old progressives and played phone tag with Sal for 5 days until I left for vacation. Was really hoping to have new glasses with my wife for those amazing views. Got back from vacation and went down to the Florida Eye Clinic to meet with Sal. It was busy, but Sal stepped over to inquire of my needs, between customers. After reminding him, as if he couldn't remember all the angry, but polite, messages from me, he tried to tell me that my wife was pushing me to get bifocals if remembers correctly. I explained that he is way off base there because I lost a small fraction of my wife's respect that day for caving the way I did. Then he tried to give another excuse for why he pushed me in that direction, he saw I wasn't buying it and took my name and number to call me later. So I told him that I will keep the first set for ONE situation where those glasses come in handy, while writing on my laptop. Due to neck issues, the only way I can spend long periods of time writing is to stand with my laptop on top of the entertainment center. THAT is the only time that those glasses work for me because it's at a comfortable distance for the lenses to work. I said I would keep that pair for that purpose, but I want order another pair that I would wear the rest of the time. Two pairs of glasses, progressives for my wife and bifocals for me came to just under $400. Great deal, I agree, but half of that is just under $200 and I just want distance view only, no bifocals, so I'm expecting it to be around $125-$150 even if Sal doesn't add a discount for refusing to provide what I wanted and taking away from my vacation Wich we timed for wearing new glasses. No, the total was over $400. He proudly applied a 20% discount to bring down to just under $400. Standing up to the Master Optician, I re-capped the story of our relationship and said that there's got to be something better he can do for me. He said that I can put the new lenses in the frames I bought from him over a month ago and it would be free. I said that will work. Over all, the situation was resolved. I had my hopes up for a pair of writing glasses that I was still willing to pay for, but not almost $400. Sal's a nice guy, just be prepared to insist on what YOU want.

I am glad I have chosen different clinic after this experience. First time I scheduled appointment I had to call back to reschedule. Appointment scheduler was so rude. Asked me if I want to reschedule and why. I started to explain the reason to reschedule and all she said is " Whatever" and hung up on me. I cannot believe how unprofessional they are. If staff behaves like that they have no control over their employees behavior and I truly do not trust them with my health. This was on 4/24/14

Carmen Affrunti

Had both eyes done in an efficient and professional manner. Dr. James was carving and did a great job, his entire staff was most helpful, kind and efficient as well. I would recommend this facility and staff for cataract surgery. Thank you for a job well done !

Called to try to get an appointment and the attitude was terrible, as if they wish not get more work. Very disappointed.

Second eye surgery today for my dad, nice and clean waiting and bathroom. The staff is very friendly and helpful!! Also a big screen TV to watch while you wait.

Stephanie Fazioli

I have been a patient with Dr. Isler since 1999. He has successfully performed cornea transplants in both of my eyes. Helen, his assistant, is a SUPER GREAT Lady! She cared for me with loving arms, the best medicine and stayed with me for hours and hours. She communicated to my family throughout the entire surgery process. Dr. Isler and his staff are the BEST...I would not trust these old, tired eyes to anyone else!

I will n would recommend this place!! Positive posative expeance

Dr. Feldman did me wrong. He went out of his way to sell me a multi focal lens ($3250.00 out of pocket) for my cateract surgery after a retina detachment. None of it worked and today my eye is blind. Then they said I couldn't sit still for the procedure and wanted to charge me more for it. I think they were more about the money than trying to save my eye. Beware of Dr. Feldman. Although after I paid him that money he did get to go on a nice Malaysian vacation .

Lyle Fors

Arrived for 10:45am appointment for father in law...still no surgery at 2:51pm...something very wrong here...dr. feldman are you in the building???

I am a senior citizen and have seen (LOL) many eye clinics. My experience with Dr. Aloneo was terrific. He completed a very professional eye exam, and he did interact well with good feedback about care of my eyes. The day I was examined was a high volumes day for the office, but all his staff was friendly to me.

On about January 2016 I came to the Florida eye clinic to see Dr. Peter GRUENBERG in order to have an eye exam. After a complete I examined by the Dr. I had received the prescription for my glasses which was determined that it was lacking some important information. Prior to the examination I provided to the Dr. with the results of another eye exam that was done few days before which had the correct prescription. For over a year I sustain headaches and blurry vision due to the fact that I had prepared and made new glasses based on the prescription that I received from the Dr. in which he did not specify the stigmatism. On January 2017 I advised Florida eye clinic about the mistake that they had made and was told that it was a clerical error and an oversight by the Dr. I was also told that the nurse that had written the prescription is no longer with Florida eye and they have no idea where she moved to. It was the responsibility over the Dr. to oversee that the correct prescription will be prescribed. I filed a complaint with Florida Department of Health and was advised by them that the wrong prescription was given due to a clerical error and oversight by the Dr. I also filed a complaint with Florida Department of agriculture and consumer services and was advised that Florida eye clinic chose not to respond to my allegations and to the department. I will never recommend to anyone that facility.

Abby Classens

I have been using Florida Eye Clinic for my annual eye exams since I moved to Orlando three years ago at the recommendation of my PCP. Recently I had to have a laser assisted cataract operation in my right eye. The care and attention I received every step of the way was extraordinary. My surgeon, Dr. Ross Parks, performed my surgery with great skill. I am extremely pleased with this clinic and its staff

I M VERY HAPPY WITH DR PAPPAS AND WITH CLINIC BUT LAST YEAR DR PHILIPS FLORIDA EYE CLINIC CHARGED ME $45.- ALTHOUGH I HAVE MEDICARE AND UNITED HEALTH CARE INSURANCE. IS IT POSSIBLE TO GET INVOICE TO SEND MEDICARE MAY BE THEY CAN PAY TO ME. THANK YOU.

When I first went in the person helped me sign in but on two screens there was an accept and a decline to which she accepted both before I had time to go over them. Red flag there. The nurse that looked me over was amazing and spent well other an hour making sure my eyes didn't have any other problems then the medical one of a stye. I really liked her but the experience went down hill with Doctor Cho. She came in with another lady and who didn't introduce themself. Soon other person came in didn't introduce themselves let alone knock or acknowledge the patient . The smallest room is now over crowded with way too many people. I am uncomfortable. The doctor then touchs my eyes with bares hands! After the exam she shakes my hand and my guests before washing them! In fact she didn't wash them before she left and most likely before she even touched my eye, which have been draining the pass few days. Cho also didn't properly explain any of the medicine she wants me to take even after I asked questions. When she left the lady asked me right away if I want to schedule the surgery. No follow up? Just right to that? Is there no faith that all the medicine you are going to have me take is going to cure it? Rude and super unprofessional. If you get an eye infection after being there you know why now.

Timothy Weessies

Called up and made a new patient appointment. Showed up expecting a bit of a wait but even after filling out all the paperwork it was an hour before I got taken to the back, and another hour on top of that because in the back was another waiting room. Both waiting rooms were nearly full of people waiting to be seen. But then a Tech came and I actually got shown to a room and she was quite pleasant and very professionally on point. After I was done with the tech she had me wait in the 2nd waiting room but that didn't take long because I didn't even have time to sit down before I was whisked into another room where the Doctor himself showed up.

Stephanie Zdeb

I have been coming here to see Dr. Feldman for over 3 years, and if you were to make an appointment for this place, remove everything from your schedule. You will be waiting in this place for hours, watching all the nurses gossip and slack on the job. Half of the day is spent seeing the nurses do nothing in the hallways (the nurse who takes photos of your eyes is the only one who does her job well). The longest I have been waiting was for 4-5 hours just to be seen, and when I finally see Dr.Fieldman, he is very rude and not clear enough to what is wrong with my eye. It is simply ridiculous.

Harriett Bentley

Great staff. Friendly staff! Great experience. Doctors explained everything so that I could understand it.

Luis Alvarez

Had 4 surgeries and received excellent attention and resultas.
