Two visits. Dr. Stottlemyer is great and I really liked him. My daughter as well. Very happy. Recent visit this month made a few weeks before and yet they scheduled it as emergency. Appointment at 9. Someone else went through all my testing, told me the changes were minor and not to worry. By 11 I was asking when I'd see Dr. Stottlemyer... Dr. Seidenberg took over, was very aggressive from go. Stated my changes were severe, I have to pursue surgery etc. Not a candidate for those surgeries and though trying to calmly explain he persisted. Told me the eye glass prescription was a waste of money. Though if the atmosphere was relaxed enough I could of explained my glasses being broken... Not a waste. They cancelled an appointment for a week later without telling me. Claim they sent me a letter. Even so services are to be continued by any doctor for 30 days. Absolutely terrible appointment. Terrible experience and vastly different than the 1st visit. I really can't recommend going there with this situation even for Dr. Stottlemyer.

Me, my wife and our 2 kids have been going to Seidenberg Protzko Eye Associates for at least 6 years for an eye exam every two years. My last visit in 2014, I felt was rushed and I was only seen by a student. My prescription was off and I suffered with it for the two year, so this year I went to Dr Lavenburg just up Rt 40 from Seidenberg Protzko Eye Associates, by the MVA. I had a much better eye exam and the total cost was $0.00. My wife and Kids still went to Seidenberg Protzko Eye Associates and I received a bill for $20.36 for my wife and $20.36 for my son. Turns out Seidenberg Protzko Eye Associates was coding the eye exams as a medical visit, not as a routine every two year eye exam. They billed my medical insurance, not my eye insurance which would have been $0.00. I did not realize they were doing this until I went to Dr. Lavernburg and was informed that my eye insurance eye exam was free every two years. The best is when I caught the error and called my insurance companies they confirmed and instructed Seidenberg Protzko Eye Associates to re code the visit as an eye exam. They would not change the code. So I called and spoke to several people in billing they still would not change the code saying that it was a medical eye exam because two years ago the doctor asked your wife and son to return for a follow up in two years. I said what? We come every two years for an eye exam anyway. They said yes but since the doctor asked them to return it is medical not a routine eye exam. Obviously they make more money billing the medical side of your insurance and the patient is stuck with the medical deductible and unused eye exam insurance that was also paid for. I always pay my bills so I reluctantly paid the two $20.36 charges however the entire family will be going to Dr. Lavenburg for our next visit. I would avoid Seidenberg Protzko Eye Associates. Not the best eye exam and questionable billing practices.

Why aren't ALL doctors like this guy? Like the other reviewer, I have no insurance but to make matters worse, I have no job. Just a small pension. I put off going to a doctor for six months after some kind of object got embedded in my eye causing blurred vision. "No money, Too expensive" was my excuse. I finally broke down and went. In the chair in 10 minutes, 10 minutes later the object had been removed and I'm out a lousy $170. They had to repeat that to me a couple of times. I fired a cardiologist because he charged me $560 for 30 seconds of his time. This guy was poking around in my eye for five minutes and only charged me $170. I almost can't wait for something else to fly into my eye so I can go back and see this guy and NOT get ripped off. You got a vision problem and don't go see these guys, you are nuts.

I am one of those people...you know the ones...without insurance and has a terrible job that doesn't pay well, no matter how hard they make you work. Usually, when I say this to people in any medical profession, I get that look that says, "You are too poor for me to deal with...maybe you should try the local doc who got his degree from the local community colleges online." This was not the case here. I walk in, and the place is immaculate...nicely decorated, clean, and welcoming. They have an optical area, too...so no going to another place to find your glasses! Then, I get greeted very warmly by the receptionist who was training another girl. I was signed in and ready to go. After filling out the paperwork, which did not take forever, I was almost immediately sent to the back rooms to get started on the exam. The girl that did the initial part of it was very friendly, and intelligent. Then it was time to see the doctor. I saw Dr. Trottini. If you want to see an excellent opthomologist, look no further than this gentleman. He was kind, gentle, and very understanding of my lack of insurance and funds. He never made me feel like a poor person, or that he was too good to deal with the likes of me, like so many doctors I have met in the past. It was so refreshing to be treated like a human being. Not only was he very kind, but he was also very good at what he does. He figured out the main source of my problem quickly, gave me some prescriptions to get (which he called in online, so no waiting for hours at the pharmacy!), and even made my low budget an easier pill to swallow. I was so impressed that I felt I had to come home and write this review. I normally do not do that when I see a medical professional. I would not only recommend this place to anyone I meet, but I will not be going anywhere else for any of my eye issues from now on. I love this place, and I am absolutely positive that you will, too.

Great service! Sottelmeyer is the best! I have many issues & he is on top of them all. His staff are so diligent & customer oriented.

I am sorry to see the negative review here because we have had very good experiences. My daughter has special needs and the staff (receptionist, medical profs, doctors, all of them!) have been very accommodating. Dr. Nuetze and her associate (Jan, maybe?) are a dream come true. Thoughtful, professional, intelligent and efficient. I don’t hesitate to recommend them.
