Unfortunately, I HAVE to spend a lot of time at Chesco Eye Care to deal with my aging eyes and vision issues. It is always a good experience with Drs. Arena and Ward and the caring staff. There are occasional visits when the offices are VERY busy which translates to extended time there, but that is understandable and OK by me.

Upon arrival I was greeted with a professional friendly face. My healthcare provider(s) was very informative and professional. My doctor was great and her supportive staff during the exam were confident and knowledgeable. Upon discharge, I found the front desk person, with whom I used to check out, was rude, uninterested and bothered by my presence in front of her. I am in the medical service industry, and I know how fundamentally important it is to deliver the best experience possible to our patients. The check-out personnel needs retrained on how to deal with the public. This staff member needs to be reminded that she is also part of the experience, check out is just as important as check-in.

On August 13, 2019 I underwent a laser treatment to remove floaters from one eye (the 2nd eye is scheduled in 2 weeks). The procedure was a little stressful, having to keep my head relatively still for an extended period of time (maybe 20 minutes?), but it went very well. I was kept well informed both before & during the procedure. My vision improved once the drops wore off, and other than about an hour of fatigue after the procedure due to the tension of the procedure (I assume most people would tense up while the procedure is conducted), there were no lingering effects - just improved vision.

Excellent experience at both visits. The office is well run, with not too much waiting, and everyone I came in contact with was pleasant and professional. I can't say enough good things about Dr. DeStafeno, who I would recommend to anyone considering cataract surgery.

Time is money. After completing the paperwork with two children we had to wait 35 minutes to be seen. Nothing special or friendly about this place. I typically go to Dr. Taylor who has the best bedside manner and is so worth the 30 minute drive versus the 30 min wait. Front desk was a bit abrupt in tone but quickly caught the vibe that the communication style would not work with me.

Not enough negative things can be said about this establishment -- save for the receptionists who have have always been nothing but courteous and understanding. As for the doctors, I have never encountered such abrupt rudeness and incompetence. I was in for an eye infection and was seen shortly before being rushed out without even an explanation of what my eye infection was and a prescription for eye drops which I later suffered a horrible allergic reaction to (and did nothing to resolve my infection). Two weeks later at my follow up, I was seen by a different doctor and any hope of improvement from my last appointment was thoroughly crushed by the rudeness I was met with. I tried explaining my situation and my symptoms, but was expertly ignored, corrected, and looked at like a complete idiot. Even after telling her my vision had gotten blurry since the start of the infection, she insisted it was due to another symptom which had developed AFTER the blurriness did! How can one ailment cause another without even having existed yet?! At one point, I was even told, "You need to be wearing your glasses for your stigmatism; you should be right now." Promptly after I had just told her I have never even owned glasses. Needless to say, it looks like I will be leaving with even more issues than what I originally went in for. Never again will I return to this place, and if I could give them zero stars, I would.

This place is just wants your money I''ve been going here for about 5 years and I'm done. They have zero interest in customer service or satisfaction. Zero compassion for their patients. The wait times are always long, they never answer the phone, they shuffle you in and rush your appointment then bill you 2x as much as you paid the year before. "Sorry your COMPLETE eye exam doesn't cover your eye exam. That costs extra." "No I won't give you the rebate coupon unless you buy from our high priced supplier." I'm an easy patient who simply needs contact lenses each year. Maybe they're all as bad as this place but I'm ready to try a new one.

As a family, we've been seeing Dr. Chu of Chester County Eye Care for about 5 years now. We're really, really pleased with the services of Dr. Chu and her staff. She does a thorough job of tracking the health of your eyes. Read that again. This place is not just for getting your prescription -- they track the health of your eyes over time. And Dr. Chu discusses her conclusions during every visit. Of all your senses, seeing is -- arguably -- the most important. When we switched from visiting the optometrist once a year to get an eyeglass prescription to having Dr. Chu examine our eyes, the most important change is the emphasis on the health of the eye. I have also seen one of Dr. Chu's ophthalmologist colleagues for an issue that I thought was related to my eyesight. Within 5 seconds of walking into his office he said, "I need to tell you that this issue is not related to your eyesight." Of course, he then proceeded to check my eyes out anyway and reported that everything was fine. He was kinda' blunt but sometimes bluntness is what is required. That prompted me to abandon my assumptions and led me to identify (and address) the real issue. These guys (and gals) are a great local resource...I cannot possibly recommend them more highly!
