I had an amazing time. I decided to stop my vision insurance due to always going to an out of network provider. This year I decided to try America’s Best. I had never been here before and I didn’t know what to expect. I loved the service from everyone. It was easy to schedule my appointment and I got everything I needed completed in a timely manner and no different than going to an expensive eye doctor. I was impressed with my service and cost. I will definitely go back.

America's Best literally saved my life and my fiance's eyesight from degrading and corrected his issue. I have nothing but positive things to say about this location, from the manager Alma Isirov and her wonderful team, I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. I went in around June for new glasses, and decided to splurge and get 3 pairs and 1 pair of sunglasses. Everything went great and the whole team had me out the door smiling! And then, about a month and a half later, my eyesight became blurry,. So I immediately though maybe my script was off, so I called them and they had me come in immediately. When seeing me, Alma personally worked with me, had me take another eye exam without an appt, and the doctor there saw the change and immediately told me to get a blood test with my physician and they were so graceful to do it at no second cost to me. Also, at this same time, they checked my fiance's eyes, and discovered he had the incorrect script (from another eye doctor) for years in his one eye and immediately sent in for new glasses. So, I go to my doctor asap the following week and low and behold, I was two steps from going into a diabetic coma (I didn't even know I had diabetes). Thankfully because of Alma and her teams experience (Alma said she had seen this with other patients) with this and recommendations to see the doctor, I was able to receive emergency treatment, and now my vision is better than before! After all was said and done, within two weeks, we got the call that my fiance's eyeglasses were ready, so we were able to go in and give the excellent update to the team in person, and omg, they were so supportive, gracious and amazing! Because of them, I literally avoided death, my blood sugar dropped almost to normal within two weeks, I can see again and my fiance teared up because now he could actually see correctly and is now able to walk without tripping and can see the details in everything, etc. So to this team, we just cannot thank you all enough! Because you cared, took the time and went way above and beyond anything that was ever expected, you gave two patients our vision back and my health back, (I'm now learning to love Keto! :)). After a declining experience with Cermak Plaza Lenscrafters, this America's Best is a breath of fresh air. Unlike Lenscrafters, their location doesn't look like a big empty dump. Bright and clean, with a ton of inventory, they get you in and out fast, while being informative and friendly. Goodbye, Crapscrafters!

Don’t waste your time here!!! Pitiful. Poor customer service. Poor knowledge of our warranty. Long wait, and still were never helped. The 4 visible people appeared to be avoiding customers and acting busy with other things. The glasses on the wall were all sticky and dirty. I had to ask for them to be cleaned before trying them on, but each pair were the same and the guy acted annoyed to be asked to wipe the next pair. We left this location and went to the Annapolis location with a COMPLETELY different experience. Professional, immediately identified our warranty, filed the order, and we were on our way in 15 minutes or less. What a contrast.

I came here on a Sunday morning to get my husband's glasses repaired. We were driving around and just happen to come across this America's Best. I was greeted by Michelle at the front desk. She was so helpful and she was able to fix my husband's glasses in less than 10 minutes. You can tell when someone has a good spirit. Michelle is an angel. You all need to hire more employees like Michelle. If employees everywhere else were like Michelle, I would have no issues. I give this location five stars solely because of her.

I have been a customer for several years and have had nothing but great experiences at this location. So far the same doctor has seen me each time. She is professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. Is addition, the techs that complete the initial routine eye tests are always friendly. They work with my insurance to make sure I receive the best deal around. For those who wear glasses and change their frames often, the eye club program is also a great option.

My exam was quick easy in easy out, I got the 2 glasses deal but because I wanted polycarbonate it was extra(nothing I didn't expect), I waited all in all I waited 11 days for glasses, which was early!!! So far I'm still getting use to them, but great customer service and fast service!!!

This place has to be the worse place to go to get eyeglasses and contacts. Staff make mistakes left and right. My twin sister and I happen to be customers for many years, but a couple of years ago they mixed up our files, and completely screwed up our prescriptions. Nobody was able to fix the problem, in fact they kept making the same mistakes. I decided to get my business somewhere else after they offered me a trial pair of contacts that I waited for over 3 weeks and never got, just for them to accuse me of picking them up when I never did. They had the nerve to tell me they will go over the surveillance cameras because my twin sister probably picked them up!!! Please, do yourself a favor a do not go to this place! Take your money some place else! I would give zero stars if that was an option!

I have been a customer of America's Best since 2013, and I typically get good service and that's why I have been a customer for as long as I have. This is the first review that I have EVER done, for this company or any other company. I had the absolute BEST service that I've EVER experienced as a customer of America's Best. If you have not visited the Bowie, Md location, I highly recommend that you do so. Don't take my word for it. You can judge for yourself. WORST SERVICE POSSIBLE. ON 3/25 I ORDERED CONTACTS FROM JESUS WHEN I GOT HOME I NOTICED HE PUT THE WRONG ADDRESS ON THE RECEIPT. I CALLED BACK THE NEXT DAY TO CHANGE THAT AND HE GOT IT WRONG AGAIN. The new receptionist Jamie was so nice and sweet & it was pretty busy today but as we walked in she greeted us with a smile & ready take care of us asap. 2 hours to get a eye exam, I just felt like a number. Was wearing Air Optix contacts which I had no problems with Doctor switched me to their brand which is Breathables without informing me. Do not get those contacts, would not recommend those to anybody. Had to go back to get a re-exam took another hour. Doctor recommended another pair of contacts Acuvue Oasys said they where better than Air Optix turns out not even close had to go back for another re-exam another hour. Doctor tried recommending another pair so had to put my foot down and tell her I want Air Optix they didn't have those in stock had to order them had to wait another 10 days to receive them, by the way never called to tell me contacts had arrived I had to call them. When those came they ordered the wrong ones of course. Been wearing contacts for 20 years and been to several places none as bad as this one. Doctor is a robot doesn't seem like she takes pride in her work just doing what her program tells her to do. Go to a smaller more family oriented optometrist. Trust Me

Good customer service from Rafael, he really helped me out a lot and made the experience over all really well. Had some issues with the prescription, and other folks. But he made it all right. If you go there, ask for Rafael's help, he's really good and will help you the whole way through.

Front desk staff was cordial. I have been coming here for years and I've never had an issue. It's nice to go to a place and it feels like they know me. Gabby and Teresa were really nice and friendly, greeted me soon as I walked in. Larra did my prescreening and it was nice and fast as well. Very personable lady. Following that I saw Dr. Simone and she was able to answer all of medical questions. I felt a lot of confidence in her and she is very kind. Toni was super nice and gave me her honest opinion about some frames I was on the fence about and the entire process was very smooth. I do recommend going in the morning time, because it seems that's when I have the quickest appointments ever.

I have purchased their plan for free eye exams and have a couple years left. So I get my exams here and get my contacts else where (because they are out of network for my insurance) and don't want to pay out of pocket to be reimbursed a portion of the amount when I can take my prescription somewhere else and they just run my insurance at no cost to me. So everytime I go the employees are very short with me the exams are less than 5 min (flipped the lens for each eye twice) and I am rushed out the door with no trials because I ask for a copy of my exam and don't order through them. Sorry, I did not pay you today but I have paid for this "awesome" service that you promote to be treated like trash when I don't buy the add on products or am not going to be getting contacts from them. Fake nice and rushed to the point that I am insulted that they think I am so naive to not see how I am being treated. So fake and not genuine at all. When walking in it is like "stepford people" and it is a show all in its own. I understand business and to understand business you need to know how to treat the people that are in the store.

My whole family works with this office and have been pleased with the pricing and quality of work. Special kudos to the eye doctor who is patient and polite and very good at explaining issues. Even though I still can't conquer the contacts despite a 30 minute training session! I gave it a 2 for customer service only because on one visit a supervisor was berating an employee in the main area and I felt that was most inappropriate and uncomfortable.

I went in for my yearly contact exam (in the eye care club) and was schedule for 9:30. Arrived a few min early, was the only customer there that I could tell. Was called back at 9:45 and that's only because the lady didn't get there until 9:40...she was pleasant enough and I understand running late; it happens to all of us at least once. Dr. Simone was wonderful as usual, never a complaint with her. Tim and Laura were working the front and Tim is also who scheduled me over the phone earlier this week too. Very friendly guy. Laura seemed to be having a bad day (already) but wasn't rude or anything with me. Candy helped me get checked out after it all and was nice and quick. Overall I have yet to have a bad experience, thank goodness, considering so many others have.

I should've read the reviews before I came here. The doctor is good, but the staff in the front is awful. Everything is disorganized with customers standing around waiting but never being acknowledged while the staff argues with each other and puts customers on hold. I also didn't like being forced to try a new cheap brand of their contacts and return for a followup even though I have been wearing the same brand of contacts for years without issue. I just needed the prescription which would not be released to me unless I came to the followup.

I was very disappointed with this place. I love the doctors but the saleslady, Yeny, was so pushy and insulting that I left so devastated and disappointed. I have been here for years but today I wanted to cry from this very irritating and pushy girl. Last year, they put the wrong prescription on my glasses which the doctor showed me on a machine. I was never able to use them. Today I was wanting to redo through insurance but Yeny kept insisting I should get a different pair and pay extra to correct the ones THEY made wrong. I am a very peaceful person but it got to the point I asked her to get me an English speaker. Since she wouldn’t, I left so upset. What a terrible experience.

It’s been a nightmare this people. I order 2 pair of lenses less than a year ago. the lens leg detached. They change one lens and order a new one (2 months ago)... I came today: December 3. To see is my new order of lenses arrived and the answer is negative. They never reorder it. And the other lens they change me two months ago, the leg detached again.... the quality of the lenses they sell is extremely poor. Look, how the leg is now... wrap with black tape... POOR QUALITY

I had an appointment at 6 pm and arrive at 6:10 pm because I got caught in the Miami traffic coming from my job in Coral Gables . I called them to let them know they I was on my way they said "ok." ,,Mind you they had called me several times prior to my appointment to confirm that i was going. .. anyway I showed up and they refuse to see me because according to them I had to get there by 6:10 pm and I did and they still refused to see me . They never ever in any of there calls informed that i needed to arrive before 6:10 pm... Very unprofessional and not courteous to patients.. that so call rule is not posted on there website or anywhere in the store and they never informed me when they called me to confirm.

Bad choice when I decided to try this place out, waste of time! I called prior to going to verify my insurance was in network and participating, I was told yes it was. My husband and I both get there for our apptmnts, gave insurance info at front desk to two young girls that really should look more appropriate for front desk, nothing said then we proceed to pick out frames while waiting to see Dr. for exam. While husband getting exam and I pick out three high dollar frames as my coverage has a high dollar frame allowance, when I ask a lady to hold them, she just looks at me as though really? Then proceeds to tell me my frame allowance is only $70 as if I don't have money to pay. I stated uh no, my allowance is $150.00 +, she stated not for preferred out of network. Really? Took prescriptions and went to Visionworks with vast amount of choice other than the locked down frames they have, yes I said locked down, so to try them on you have to ask to have them unlocked. This place is a very low class place and has the same with workers and glasses.

I had a couple of very poor experience in this place. The first time I purchased glasses here was about a year ago. There was a rude person helping me that left helping me to help another customer and never returned or asked another co-worker to help me. I was left standing for about 30 mins. Today, I came in. One of the pairs I bought had became damaged. I did not receive help at all, but I did receive sales for more product instead of the issue. As people that wear glasses, we can keep a pair of frames too long. These were barely a year old and just need a screw. I got no help. I don't recommend this place to anyone.

My fiancé visited this place last month. I have not had the time to write review since we work very hard everyday. Her experience with Dr. Hollins was without a doubt unprofessional and inappropriate. Dr. Hollins repeatedly made ‘friendly’ comments about my fiancé and her charming personality. Instead of keeping the focus on the eye care visit, his flirtatious comments were inexcusable. I recommend people visit someplace professional and tasteful, not here!

They don't even deserve a star!, after I bought an overly priced pair of Ray ban Justins just avoid waiting for shipping at ray an official page, they took the glasses because I needed the as eyeglasses so I told the guy working there that usually they don't need the lenses and they had taken them off and given to me on previous purchases, the guy told me they needed them to get the correct measurements so I just went along I tought maybe he was new, well when I finally got them (two weeks after) the dark lenses weren't in the bag! The guy told me he would do something and call the company to see if they had them, long story short he had me going back several times on the next three months when I asked to talk to his supervisor he told me he was the supervisor I just got so mad and I walked away from the store to avoid confrontation which clearly was what this guy was expecting, I never felt so ripped off and disrespected at any other place, save your self the humiliation and go to any other place, I'm sure you'd be treated better.

Total rip off, bait and switch. Advertised 2 pairs of glasses plus free appointment for $69 --- then charged more than $300. Try EyeMart Express on Mall Road for legitimate deals. You get what they advertise! Even Walmart is a better deal. Evidently bait and switch is how they pay for all those TV commercials. Don't believe them or go to them if you're on a budget. Dishonest!

The eye doctor and staff was nice HOWEVER I was told America's Best took CareCredit. After the appointment and picking out my glasses I was told, oh we don't take CareCredit unless it's a mastercard version. Like what? Don't you think that was important to say BEFORE my appointment. If I knew that I definitely wouldn't have picked America's "Best."

Paid $79 for an eye exam to get fitted for contacts. After getting my exam on Wednesday I had to return on Friday for my "class" to learn how to put in and take out my trial contacts. Upon putting my contacts in I couldn't see. I wasn't able to see more than 3 feet in front of my face. I asked the lady teaching the so called class if that was normal she told me yes it can take up to 20 minutes for my eyes to adjust. Staff was rude and short with me the whole time. Never having contacts before I didn't know better. I couldn't drive myself home I had to have my boyfriend drive since I didn't feel safe doing so. Took the contacts out when I got home. Put them in the next day for an hour ended up getting a horrible headache, switched out the contacts for my glasses. Called the store I was told it could take 5 days for my eyes to adjust and that it was normal that I couldn't see 3 feet in front of my face. Not seeming right I called other places everywhere told me no that's not right 20 minutes at most for my eyes to adjust and it shouldn't be that blurry. Called the store since the contacts were of no use I wanted a refund so I could go somewhere else. I was told that would be fine I would have to go in and sign off to get the refund. After fighting with the store manager who was no help for 20 minutes he gave me the customer service number. The store manager said he couldn't give me a refund he could only replace the contacts I had been given to try out. I told him no I don't want to have you guys anywhere near my eyes since you messed it up so bad the first time I just want my money back. Left angry to say the least. Called customer service after about a 7 minute hold a very sweet lady picked up I explained what happened she took down my info and called the store to speak to the store manager. No more than 20 minutes later she called me back and was able to get me my refund. Only good thing about this place is the sweet lady I got when I had to call customer service number. I will never use this place again.

A really bad experience with the O.D. Luis P. If you are going there ask for any other O.D. Otherwise you may get educational lessons about how stupid drivers we are in Miami. I don’t understand why if he has that bad feeling about Miami he doesn’t go back to wherever he came from. All other staff in there is very nice and pleasant

By far the absolute worst location I've ever been to. Paid for 2 pair of glasses back in late March/early April and as of today, I STILL don't have my second pair. More run around than a track and field competition. Staff has not been honest about where my glasses are even at. And I've had to initiate every communication as they have yet to call me to do any type of follow up. My next call will be to their corporate offices... I only gave them one star because the system won't allow me to score them any lower than this.

There's been nothing but delays, 7-10 days to get a TRIAL pair of contact lenses. And if those turn out to be a poor fit then another 7-10 day delay. You're stuck without contact lenses until you go through the whole ordeal. And after you get a proper fit then more waiting time to get your contact lens order. The worse part... NO ATTEMPT at CUSTOMER SERVICE from the staff at all. In fact THEY COULDN'T MAKE IT MORE CLEAR that they don't give a rat's rear. Who's managing these employees????

Everything went smoothly for me including replacement with warranty. The ONLY issue I had was when I broke my pair - they didnt have that specific frame available anymore. They let me pick my replacement and gave me them under the warranty plan at no additional cost.

WOW. I can’t say enough good things about my experience here today. Not only were they able to squeeze me in last minute, they were happy to help me with my 10 month old. Sonya? (I’m sorry if that’s the wrong name, I am horrible with names) scooped my baby up as soon as I walked in so I could fill out my paperwork and then she held him and played with him the entire time. He was almost sleeping when I came out of the appointment. It was such a relief and everyone else was so nice and understanding. My doctor (female, I’m sorry again about not knowing names) found out I was over corrected by .50! And then on top of that, the exam was only $79. What a relief. And just thank you all so so much.

Terrible experience. I usually go to the location in Mays landing but this location was closer so I made an appointment here. The staff up front was very nice. I had to wait a long time even though I had an appointment but that was ok because I could see they were understaffed. When I finally got back to the doctor, she showed me a chart and asked me to read it. I told her that I could not see any of it and she responded with " I find it hard to believe you can't read any of it". She seemed very annoyed with me and rushed through my exam. It was so bad I requested another doctor and had to schedule a new appointment for days later. But now after reading the other reviews I'm just gonna skip going here altogether. The way I was treated by the doctor was terrible and she made it seem like I was lying about what I could see. As if that would get me anywhere. Obviously I wouldn't lie if I want the right prescription. I will never go to this location again.

Don't like that for contacts they have you come back every week until its perfect. How about give me what you think i need or what I request, and I'll come back if I have issues? My daughter visited this location for the first time last week. She saw Dr Hollins for her eye exam. Dr Hollins is unprofessional and does not listen to the patient. He appeared high as his eyes were red, he flirted with my daughter and his breathe smelled like residue smoke. Not sure where this place finds their doctors but I was extremely disappointed and upset with the situation. Beware of Dr Hollins, go some place else.

When exiting the doctors room on of the ladies said loudly in front of public "Do you have an eye infection? If so we need to wipe everything down!" For one, that was very rude and confidential if I did have an infection??? For two, shouldn't everything be wiped down between each customer anyways??? One lady here was very kind I think she is the manager. But the rest of the techs are rude and not welcoming. My advice, steer clear.

Appointment went fairly well, on time and finished in a little over an hour for both of us. It wasn't until 10 days later when I went to pick up my glasses that I even knew there was a problem. I will agree with the other person who said the staff is very unorganized. They ordered the wrong frames; I'm now another 10 days into waiting and they're still "in the lab". Save your time, and your money; I guarantee unless your over the age of 50 you wont want their 2 for $70 frames and their contact lenses are at least $20 more than 1800-CONTACTS even with the "Membership". ** Update** I wanna say that Nancy and the District Manager did a wonderful job at promptly responding to and correcting the mistake.- I have updated the review to reflect this.

I put off getting reading glasses all my life, but for two pairs, a free exam and a low price I quit procrastinating. Last year I went in and the staff was great. It was no hassle and quick. The new glasses has been wonderful with no more headaches or eyestrain. This year I went back to get a stronger pair, for special circumstances, and to replace some scratched lenses. I am conflicted on how to write a review. There were good and bad about this place. The doctor was thorough and friendly, and the deal on the Eyecare Club and contacts was amazing. But, there were a few negatives to this location. First of all, I got a call to confirm my appointment 20 minutes before the scheduled time, when I was already driving there. Seems like a call the day before might be a better idea. Also, the assistant was friendly but had NO idea what she was doing. She asked me if I was wearing contacts, and I said yes. She conducted the screening exams. The doctor said they all had to be done without contacts, so I had to go back and re-do them all. And even then she had trouble and tried a few different times before having someone else come in to assist. So overall, I love the deals but will NOT be returning to this location.

I've been going to America's Best since I was young, but I stopped going there for a few years because of various reasons. When I returned a year ago, I planned on getting the 2 eyeglasses for $60 deal. I got my eye exam done and go pick the frames I want. When I talk to the person who is suppose to assist me, she says that my prescription was "too strong" so I couldn't get the deal. I ended up having to pay for the exam and without any glasses.

My 50 year old mom has terminal brain cancer and said she wished she could see better. So, we made a 5:40 p.m., appointment and these lovely people were open until 7:00 p.m. We had a few complications with the wheelchair and I was running a few minutes late, so I called at 5:45 p.m., to let them know. The girl was less than pleasant and asked, “well, just how late will you be?”. I said I’m right around the corner. We parked, got the wheelchair out and wheeled in at exactly 5:50 p.m. the girl said, “well, I’m going to have to see if we can keep your appointment now”. She came back with another lady who said we will have to reschedule, he is doing his last test for the night. My mom decided to speak up and try to offer more money for the appointment and say that she tried so hard to get there. All we got were blank stares. I politely thanked them and left. I sat in the parking lot attempting to call anyone open and looked up to see the Doc walk out of the exam room at 6:01 p.m....They definitely know how to go the extra mile for their customers. I hope Karma sees fit to return the same in kind.

No one at the Chesterfield store could repair my new glasses, which they had broken trying to reinsert a new screw. My wife was told I would have to take them somewhere else to have them repaired! I returned to the Chesterfield store myself on 5-2 and was assisted by Asyntha Sandberg, who was visiting from the St. Peter's store. Asyntha not only was very sympathetic but also was able to repair the glasses by using a self tapping screw. The eye exam was quick and painless and everyone I talked to from the front desk to the woman who did the eye measurements to the doctor was very kind and helpful. I almost left as an angry customer because of a miscommunication between myself and a new employee about pricing. This was my first time there and I had stated that several times and asked questions several times and they wouldn’t explain there process or fees. This location is terrible. The Dr's here are lazy and don't even care about if you have an issue with your eyes. This time I went in because I've been having issues with my contacts I didn't even get to talk to a dr. One of the employees just said we ordered you trials, you're good to go... I had called this location twice this morning, first time was about 10 minutes after they had opened and was told all consultants were busy and they had taken my name and number to call back when someone was available. Well, no one had called me for an hour, and I was in quite of an emergency for needing a box of contacts, so I called again. This time the male receptionist had told me they were all still busy and made sure to make it clear they would call me (as in I didn't need to keep calling). They did call me back, however my phone never rang (not their fault), so I called back and gave them my work number as an alternative. This was about 11 am, and it is now 6:07 pm, and I have not had a call back. I eventually called the St Paul location and the receptionist had helped me buy a box of contacts within 10 minutes and I had my boyfriend pick them up for me.... I do not see why the person who answered the phone could not have helped me. I just needed to buy a box of contact, or see if they even had my prescription in stock or if they needed to be ordered.

The African American guy with the locs, did my initial exams. He was polite, professional and informative. They didn't give me a pair of contacts to use while my other ones were being ordered. It's been over a wk now and every time I call, they say my contacts still have not come in and they will call me when they arrive. They also told me if would only take 5-7 business days... This is unacceptable. I will not recommend this place to anyone. Not to mention, I've been calling them all day today and the phone rings so long that it gives the busy signal after a while. I don't know how and why this place is still open, but I will be going back to Pearle Express.

There is a Doctor there you must ask for, Dr. Nicole. She provides the level of service you would normally get at a private doctor's office, not a strip mall. I have the best insurance. I've been to several eye doctors and none of them noticed I had a tennis ball sized tumor pushing on my eye. Dr. Nicole immediately noticed and sent me to experts for further review. Months later I had brain surgery to remove the very large tumor. Ask for Dr. Nicole. She is a practicing professional and a cut above the rest!

Went for an eye exam for glasses and contacts. didn't even come close to getting my prescription right. They put no astigmatism in my right eye, even went back two other times to have it adjusted, still not correct and have been walking around half blind since then. Had to go to another eye doctor and spend another $100 so I can finally see. Don't waste your time or money. Wish I could get a refund on paying for the 3 years worth of eye exams, I was advised to never go back.

i have been a loyal customer of Americas best since i was 18 and in every state i lived in ,but the one at mall rd. in Louisville KY is the reason i will never come back. the girl at the front desk was rude i drove all the way from downtown granted i was a few minuets late but told me they double booked so i cant be seen for the next two weeks. after asking why wasn't i informed she became argumentative when i asked to speak with someone else she continued arguing with me till i got angry and walked out. i still have two years on my eye club but because of this ghetto experience i wont be back i have no patience for such ignorance.

I've been a patient here for 2 years now. All previous experiences have been great until today. My boyfriend went in to pick up my contacts bc I was unable. He was told I needed to put an order in, which I did yesterday evening but they said they didn't have it. So after a slightly lengthy wait the doctor (a black male) tells the person selling him the contacts, that I need two different boxes/prescriptions for each eye. Yes, I have an astigmatism, but the doctor who's usually there has ALWAYS told me it's not severe enough to need that and I've never had to buy them like that. They then proceed to make him buy 2 boxes of the exact same contacts/prescription to him telling him they're different and I need both. I will be taking my businesses elsewhere from now on.

I was in on Dec 22, 2017, the support staff was great, friendly, and very professional towards me. The eye doctor was in a rush and she made it very evident she wanted to get out the door. The actual experience was nice if not rather dull and bland. Little personality exist in that place however the staff did their job except for processing my refund correctly when I canceled my order. Wanted to try this place since it's close to where I live and the doctor I've been going for years is pretty far but it was a waste of time. I have been going to America’s Best for about 7 years now. I have always had a pleasant experience. However, this specific location has been trouble. All I needed was for them transfer my prescription to another location while I was out of state. Personally, on my end, it was urgent and because they held my prescription they were the only one who could release it. The employee named Janet at this location was extremely rude, she literally kept hanging up the phone when I called saying she could not help. It wasn’t until two days later, after multiple calls, did I finally get the help I needed from another employee. And of course, the very thing that Janet was unwilling to do, the other manager did without a problem. The eye care/wear industry is extremely sensitive to the health of its customers. The training and customer experience should be taken more seriously on the company’s part. And unfortunately after 7 years of loyalty I will not be returning because this last experience. Good luck!

Bought two pairs of glasses here. 6 months later the clear wire that holds the glass in broke. I use the other pair and the next day that one broke. I took them back and they said I didn't purchase the insurance. I told them nobody told me about insurance. They only used one pair. 1 month later the scratch resistan coating started to peel off. I asked could I have my prescription so I could go somewhere else, they said they couldn't give it to me. I will never go back here.

Take it from me, this place is appalling. Don't bother unless you want you time wasted, order misplaced, and customer service that is a joke. Original rating: This place is the most unorganized place I've ever been too. They dropped the ball and didn't order my glasses for almost a month and a half. Even though I called within that time frame to check on why it was taking so long, they didn't notice my glasses hadn't even been ordered. And instead of them being proactive in any way, I had to initiate call. Then, no one ever returned a call they said they were going to. After dealing with no less than 3 people I was told if I wanted to speak to the manager I would need to call back the next day. .not that he would call me, which he never has, even though he was the one that actually dropped the ball...I would expect if an error was made they would contact me to make it right, but that never happened. I have lived in a place with no America's Best and was so excited to move back to a city that had one...what a disappointment!

The absolute WORST experience. The doctor thinks he knows everything, extremely rude and condescending and truly doesn’t give a sh*t about your opinion. He gave me an EXTREMELY outdated prescription, one in which I haven’t had since I was 12 years old. Had an answer for everything, doesn’t care if you express concerns. He was awful. Spoke with Jamie about my glasses that took more than two weeks to arrive. Not only did she hang up on me two times she also had the nerve to be very short and unprofessional when she finally found my glasses that may have been there for over a week. She then proceeded to say "you can pick them up tomorrow" and immediately hung up before I could even ask another question. Everyone listen up. This place is just so unorganized and the staff don't know what they are doing. The first time I ordered contacts they messed up the order. They said they would order again and once again they messed it up. It's been a few weeks and I still haven't gotten the correct order of contacts. And that's not the worst part. I recently went in for a follow up on my contacts. I get there on time and they told me to wait. Another staff member asked again why I was there. She took my information and I went in to wait again. Then another staff comes and asks me if i was here for a class. I asked what class she was talking about and she looked at me like I was dumb. She said "it's called a class." I had to tell her that I was there for follow up. Again I was told to sit down and wait. Anyway the rest of my appointment was meeting a new staff and being told to wait again. I waited for more than 2 hours. Finally they sent me to see the supervisor and she was helping another client. She told me that once she finished with that client she would help me next. So she finished with that one client, looked at my stuff and moved on to another client. I just grabbed my contacts that still weren't the correct ones and walked out the door! The staff saw me and said nothing. Oh and I also received a call and an email from them once I was already seeing the eye doctor and they said that I missed the appointment and asked if I wanted to set up another one

I had a great experience. Didn't have to wait long to be seen even though there where a lot of customers there. I was pretested by larra, she was great, made me feel comfortable, very knowledgeable. Dr. Simone was great. They even had my contacts in stock. I have told all my friends about you. I am definitely going back and am a member of the eye care club. I live in Lee's summit and still go up north there instead of driving to the independence branch, which would be closer because of the staff at the Barry road location.

Drove two hours from where I live to my appointment. My insurance doesn't cover vision and nobody around my area would take me, even though I offered to pay out of pocket. My glasses are being held on both sides with tape plus I needed a check up. I walked in and was greeted with friendly service. They were honest about the prices and helped me pick the best options. I bought two pairs of glasses, free eye exam, and had a additional exam that did cost but under $20. I paid under $90 bucks and was impressed. Definitely will make the drive again.

I always needed glasses but neglected grabbing a set since my first overpriced (total cost of hundreds of $) pair in 7th grade and another pair years later I got outside the country that made me dizzy. I never wore both. Well, many many years later of a glasses-less lifestyle and being in my late 20's with worsening vision, I decided it's finally time to correct my vision. Saw America's Best's deal of 2 pairs plus a free eye exam for $69. I thought that was unreal! So I scheduled myself and walked in for the eye exam. I agreed to the additional eye test for $15, to check for any underlying eye problems like glaucoma and stuff. They offered anti-glare, anti-scratch, and a whole bunch of other options that would substantially increase the price. I refused the options and they didn't argue. Gave me exactly what I wanted and told me to stop by for my glasses two weeks later. Amazing deal for perfect vision @ ~$85 + tax for two pairs. I wear them everyday I'm outside, what a difference!

I have never been the type of person to go out of my way to write a bad review on anything or any review for that matter.This is my first one and I do believe it is well deserved.I went here for years because I did not have vision insurance and did not know any better, but do NOT make my same mistake. My boyfriend just had a horrible experience with them and it brought back memories. I never had a problem with the people who actually evaluated my vision (although we just found out that they had been giving him the wrong RX for years). I did have a problem with most of the women who worked the front desk. There is one woman in particular that he and I strongly agree has a consistently rude and condescending attitude towards everyone in person and on the phone. If you hate your job and dealing with people that much please move on to a different profession. Shame on America's Best for keeping people like this employed year after year. If you are uninsured or on a budget and are not sure where else to go try Walmart Vision Center. Our experience there was 100% better than what we were used to at America's Best.

I recently graduated with my masters degree & moved across the country for my new job, so I tried for TWO WEEKS to get the Barry Road in KCMO to fax my prescription chart to another America’s best (that I would be transferring to). All I wanted was to get reflective lenses in my current prescription so that I could keep my current frames. They said they wouldn't do it without doing an eye exam (which is fine). So I do that, and they give me glasses that are harder to see out of, and make me instantly nauseous. I tell them the issue, and they say that they'll fix it (which is good). I come back when I get the call saying that they're done, and I'm given glasses that don't have reflective lenses, and still have the worse prescription. They say they can give me a refund on the reflective lenses, or if I want, just a refund on the glasses, and they'll put the old lenses back in. So I tell them I want them old lenses, to which they wouldn't do without a doctors note. The situation was just getting too complicated for just wanting my money back, so I took the refund on the reflective lenses and left. Overall, just a bad experience for just wanting reflective lenses. I will not go back there.

The Dr that works out of this office is great. The store itself is garbage. The staff is very sub par. Waited around forever, was ignored, only when I said I was leaving did they scramble to help me. My wife bought contacts there and it took twice as long to get them. She went into the store and they literally ripped the label off some other patient's order and gave them to her. Again the Dr is really good, but skip the store. The selection is crap anyway.

After reading the reviews I have to put in my two cents. I have only gotten contacts here, never glasses. The only reason is because I have insurance that pays for everything but a $10 co-pay on the contact lens exam (compared to other places that charge me the $10 plus the additional cost of the contact lens exam vs. glasses) and then I get four boxes of contact for a $25 co-pay. I may end up buying two more boxes during the year but I have my prescription and can go online or to anyone else. My total for one box of Acuvue Oasys is $38.91. My only real issue is that they typically sell a cheap brand and that is all they have in stock so it takes a couple of days to get them. My exam was fine. I scheduled it the day of online and was seen quickly. Not as quickly as when I went to VisionWorks, but pretty quick. No one went in ahead of me, so I wasn't irritated. Got through the exam fairly fast and got my order placed for my boxes. They were not going to give me a pair of contacts to walk out in until I asked for them. Of course they were the cheap pair, but I didn't care, I only needed them for a week. There was one rude lady at the counter, but I didn't have to deal with her until the end. She actually seemed to be the manager, because everyone seemed to defer to her. Boy was she rude. I have worked in customer service my whole life and this gal broke every rule in the book. I wanted to smack her. She didn't say five words to me but sat there laughing it up with a co-worker about (inappropriate) personal stuff as I sat two feet in front of her in the back office...She was chomping on her gum like a cow chewing cud. I wish I could remember her name... Anyway, long story but I had no big issues, just some irritations. I can't say I would recommend them for glasses, but for contacts I would. They were much cheaper, even paying cash for the exam, than going anywhere else.

Dr. Saint Louis at a glance was thorough and personable, the associate John was very helpful and knowledgeable, they have a decent selection of glasses, but that is all I really have to say that is GOOD about them. I was in the store while they were getting ready to close and one of the associates who was walking around cleaning the mirrors, decided it would be okay to clean the mirror on the table I was sitting at. I was engulfed by the ammonia smell from the Windex causing me to have a migraine. The atmosphere was rather unprofessional with front desk representatives fishing for compliments from male employees. The worst part of my experience was when I received the itemized list of what my charges were going to be. When I was being examined by Dr. Saint Louis, she asked if I was interested in contacts. I expressed that I didn't want them since I haven't had the best experiences with soft or hard versions of them. She told me she would give me a free pair of soft contacts that may work for me for me to try out. That was great, but what wasn't was when I noticed that I had to pay for $79 dollars for the contacts examination. At no point was I told exactly when it was that I was being examined for contacts, and I was not advised that I would be charged something separate, but I was slammed for that service anyways. I don't want the contacts, I didn't want them to begin with. When I am called in to pick up the trial pair along with my glasses, I will reject the contacts. The only other time I will be walking into this store is if I have an issue with my glasses. I will not being doing business with this company again...I don't wish to be forced to throw money away due to false pretenses.

AMERICAS BEST? What? It sure isn't the employees. I made an attempt to get an eye exam and purchase glasses earlier this year, 2018, at the Bowie location. I tried to get information for the type of glasses I wanted from the lady at the desk and all I got is "the glasses are over there". She didn't greet me when I came in, never got up from her chair, never showed me anything, just sat there looking down at something. The store wasn't busy, in fact I was the only one there at the time. I got about as much information from her as if I was talking to the wall. So I left. I still need glasses so I'll have to try somewhere else.

Went there for the first time because my glasses broke and its been 3 years since I had an eye exam. I knew I was going to pay more walking into it because I needed the thinner lenses and the anti glare. The 2 for 69.95 deal is for people who doesnt have that bad eyesight. But it was quick and easy. I did pay 300 dollars for 2 pairs but anywhere else was charging me 250 for just 1 pair. So even though it was expensive it was still better than most places especially since I didnt have insurance. I found 2 pairs I liked but the only reason why I gave it 4 stars was because they didn't have a huge selection of the kind of frames I like for the less expensive ones. But the overall experiance was great.

This place is so ghetto. I've been here 3 times. The manager is extremely unprofessional. The first visit, she is openly speaking negatively about other employees with people working. The second time I was there she was bragging out loud how her stores growth is one of the companies best, and arrogantly praising herself in front of guests and employees. I've had interactions with her 3 times, and every time has been negative. Customer service is definitely a skill she lacks. I've only experienced one positive interaction with an employee the first time I went. My guess is the manager doesn't really know how to assemble a team focused around customer service because she lacks it completely. I promise you, I am not one to right a negative review unless completely warranted. Yes, their prices are great. But remember there are many other locations around the twin cities you can shop at. If you are going to spend over an hour in a store I advise choosing a location that doesn't give off such a negative vibe. I went to the Roseville store and the difference is night and day. I’ve never had contacts, and the woman helping me put them in, told me “I don’t really have time so we have to be quick.” Though on the phone they told me the class was thirty minutes. She kept telling me you just have to do it this way, which was not helpful. I understood what she was saying but it was difficult and rushed. They had a bit of trouble pulling up my prescription on file from another location, but one of the opticions worked with me on looking for the perfect frame while they had someone at the front desk keep working on get the prescription to pull up in their system. I had multiple glasses that I saved in my favorites on their website & the opticion grabbed every frame that i wanted to try. She took note of what works on my previous frames & what doesn't & she found a pair that I didn't even have saved as a favorite! I ended up purchasing the 1st pair that she selected & nixing all my favorites! Once I selected my frames the prescription issue was fixed! So I technically didn't have to wait! I did have an appointment and I do take my time trying on glasses, but she worked with me the entire time & I didn't feel rushed! I walked in thinking I was going to buy one of my favorites & then i walked out excited about a completey different pair! I told her my buget & w my ins plan she said that i could try every frame in the store & be w/in my buget! She was right!

Customer service is extremely poor at this location. The staff is very unfriendly and not helpful. They make you feel like you are a bothersome to them. I am currently still waiting for my glasses. Just called to check on the tracking and received NO guidance whatsoever.

However, the lady that did my eye exam for me and my son had no personality and was very dry and almost rude to a point. This was my son's first ever eye exam and he was a little nervous, she didn't take the time out to explain to him what she was doing or what a certain test was for. As for the young ladies in the front, no one asked me if I needed help picking out a pair of frames or explained to me how the prices worked, they kept talking while I was sitting there waiting to be assisted and were talking badly about another co worker at that! I went there because the deal was good, but because of the customer service, I'll probably take my business elsewhere.

Will never, ever be returning here, sent an email to customer service I'm so livid. I'm (unfortunately) an EyeCare Club member and having always bought my glasses through them. I wanted to get contacts again but wanted to try Hubble while continuing my business with them for eye exams and glasses. Their eye doctor was pushy, rude and dishonest. She attempted to lie to me to discourage me from buying Hubble contacts by saying things like, "they buy old contacts to sell" or "they're not daily, you're supposed to wear them for 2-weeks to a month". After debating with her on how Hubble works (I did a lot of research before I opted for them) she said that she was willing to write me a prescription for Hubble, but only if I provided the ingredients and what-not for their contacts. With that, I ordered a trial pair that she recommended and left. When I received the contacts, they did not fit well, and honestly caused a lot of pain to the point that I couldn't keep my eyes open, and when I could, they fell out. I stopped trying to wear the trails until my actual appointment and on the way to my appointment, one fell out. Annoyed because my eye was red, irritated and painful, I checked in with the dislodged contact in my hand. The manager then asked why I was there and when she heard I was there for a follow-up contacts appointment, she asked if I had them in. I told her that no they weren't since one had fallen out and I was only seeing out of one eye properly and that I simply didn't want to put the contact back in since I didn't want to continue with something that hurt my eyes so badly and couldn't even stay in. After ignoring everything I said, she ordered me to the back room with mirrors and contact solution so that I could put a dirty contacts lens back in my eye. After I sat in the lobby for a short time, I was ushered into an exam room by the eye doctor I had seen before. When I let her know I didn't like the contacts she had given me, she seemed understanding and helpful but as soon as I showed her that I had brought Hubble's Professional Fitting Guide (which SHE requested) her demeanor became rude and annoyed. She argued with me again over the facts that were proven wrong on her part by the paperwork I gave her and said that the information she needed wasn't provided, shortly before quieting down because she found it was included (which is because the papers I had printed out were for eye doctors specifically to fit patients with more than enough information). Even though she clearly was unhappy with my choice to try Hubble, she suggested I come in with the Hubble contacts so that she could see how I liked them and I agreed saying if they didn't work, I would then order contacts through them at that follow-up. After that uncomfortable situation of arguing over information she had right in front of her, she relented to scribble my prescription down on a sticky note and tell me to go to the lobby. After we got out there, the staff couldn't read the doctors handwriting and asked us to take a seat and wait. After waiting for about 5 minutes, the manager approached us with an extremely annoyed look on her face. Very aggressively she starts questioning me about what the heck I'm doing cause she "doesn't deal with stuff like this". I explained Hubble and that I was wanting to schedule a follow-up for them with my eye doctor and she WOULDN'T allow me to since they "only do follow-ups with contacts that THEY sell" (even though the doctor had suggested it) and proceeded to not only tell me to leave, but FOLLOWED US TO THE DOOR. She literally kicked us out and chased behind us. I've never, ever had this kind of disrespect and I've emailed the customer care group. I regret becoming an eye care member and if you can, go somewhere else. Unbelievably rude and hurtful. I wish I could give negative stars for how not only the eye doctor treated me, but how the MANAGER treated me.

I bought 2 pair of glasses and they sold me their cleaning solution and rag. I used it on one pair of my glasses and within 3 months the glasses where ruined. They had swirls and they were hazed. These are iridescent lenses and the glasses cost me about $350 and they wont fix them cause i waited to long.

First I want to start out by saying how easy it was to make an appointment, very flexible with my crazy work hours, and how amazing most of the staff was. The receptionist, tech (named Jana), and everyone except for one person made our experience very enjoyable. That one person made me decide on not renewing my membership (family of 4) and going elsewhere from now on. I have had the same interaction with the same doctor both times, causing this decision and also prompting me to make this review. Both times seeing this particular doctor I felt rushed, like I was just one more annoyance in his life. He snapped at my 3 year old for touching the door stop, and also one of the employees in front of myself and other customers which in my opinion was extremely unprofessional. Honestly if it wasnt for my daughter already picking out her new pair of glasses and being very excited about it, I would have walked out. I understand people have bad days, but once again this was not the first time I personally have witnessed his poor attitude. It is very unfortunate this one person has caused us to never utilize their services. I could barely stand to be around him for less than 10 minutes, let alone work with him all day.

I wanted to take this opportunity to give Dr. Julie Anna Shaefer and the front desk staff a shout out. I was not in my best mood this morning as my "to-do list" kept on getting longer and longer. Julie picked up on my stress and urgency. While I definitely needed to renew my contact prescription, I also needed to get to my office ASAP to put out some fires. The staff at the Forest Park location is very unprofessional and need major customer service training. I took my teenage son there three years in a role. The 1st and 3rd time were absolutely horrible. The 2nd year taking him for glasses the young lady that helped him was great. The young lady that helped us this year acted as if she didn't like her job and didn't want to be at work. She didn't even attempt help my son find eye glasses instead she asked him if he wanted two of the same pair of glasses. I will be picking up his glasses tomorrow and if they do not fit properly they can refund me my money. When my family was searching for a decent glasses store, we'd make appointments and we would be in those waiting rooms for at least 2 hours. (Once it got close to to 3 hours we just left altogether.) We came to the appointments at exactly the designated time, there was absolutely nobody in the store, yet we still had to wait for ridiculous lengths of time. Then our last try was America's best. I was able to get tested, choose my glasses, and walk happily out the door with a waiting time of about 15 minutes. The staff wasn't very friendly, but they were professional and straight to the point--which is what I would prefer. I don't want to be holed up in some office. Just give me what I'm paying for, then I'll leave.

I am not quite sure how to describe my experience. The first incident to start it off in a negative way was actually my fault. I arrived to my appointment a little under ten minutes late. I drove over an hour, and I just misjudged the traffic. That is my fault. However, please be aware that if you are late to your appointment, they will not see you. The lady behind the front desk was not the friendliest and made no apologies about this. Another lady did come out front and explained that they were busy, but she would see if they could work me in. She was extremely nice, but was unable to do so. Being late was my fault, but I do feel that they need to stress to you when you make your appointment that you must be on time or you will lose your appointment slot. Aside from this experience, the atmosphere shapped the rest of my opinion. After driving over an hour, I had to use the restroom. I opened the door only to see a large woman standing up half naked in an unlocked bathroom. I would like to point out the bathroom did have a lock, but apparently she did not understand how one works. The rest of people in the waiting room were on par with this particular woman, or they looked like straight up heroine addicts. While I was in the bathroom (once it was clear), my husband said that they told another woman that she would have to leave and come back later, because they didn't have time for her to sort out her insurance.I suppose if you're needing cheap glasses, it might be worth putting up with everything. Please be aware, however, that they do expect herd to you through like cattle. Thankfully, I was able to go across the shopping center and pay $30 for an eye exam. I walked in off the street and was met with a friendly person at the front counter. The doctor was wonderful, and the staff was great. I had my new prescription in less than an hour. I think that I really dodged a bullet by being late to my appointment.

My experience at this location was overwhelmingly pleasant. The manager Mallori was courteous and fast to answer any questions. The whole please looked clean and respectable, my exam done by Toni (I believe) was done pretty fast and also answered all my questions I had. There was hardly any wait time for when Dr. Simone did her part of the exam as well. Jenni and Gerri were very helpful when figuring out what kind of glasses were best for me and my budget and Gabby (Hipster Receptionist) had great input into the newest styles and trends. It was quite refreshing to see someone like Gabby go out of their way to give her honest opinion on how certain frames are better suited for the contour of my face. She rocks! By far one of the BEST experiences I've had at Americas Best!

Very disappointed with my experience. Really felt like I was being rushed through by a staff that belonged working in a fast food check out line rather than working with something as important as my vision. I really did not appreciate the up-sells and the bait and switch when the time came to choose frames, lenses and options. I find it insulting as a consumer to have prices all over the store saying "Two pairs of glasses for $XXX.00 and your exam is free" only to have the bill be more than double that. I'd rather a business post no pricing and I be surprised than to have misleading prices on the walls. The way they do business left me with the sour feeling of being a sucker for buying anything. Finally two out of the four employees I encountered were just plain not professional enough to be dealing with something as important as your vision. I want to feel the same level of competence I'd expect in a good doctor's office. Both of these employees would be much better suited to work in the fast food field. If your vision is important to you these folks are clearly not who you want to be going to. I gave a rating of one star only because zero stars was not an option but zero stars better represents my experience.

I'll start with the good - They have a nice selection and the front staff was nice. The doctor rushed my exam and barely let me answer his questions and decided to answer for me. I tried correcting him when he started answering for me, but i guess he felt he knew what I was seeing. He ultimately gave me the wrong prescription. I went in with -1.5 prescription and the doctor said my sight got worse to -2.50. I didn't believe it got that bad, but continued he was the doctor RIGHT?!? So I decided to order my glasses through them. When I got them they looked like coke bottle lenses. I took them home and right away and felt like the floor was miles away and they gave me a headache. I went in the next day and they said that my eyes need to adjust and to keep them for at least a week. I tried them maybe two days, but it was almost impossible to drive. My depth of perception was off. After the third day I went back to my old glasses and forgot about the new ones and passed the 30 days return policy. So hundreds down the drain. I got my eyes checked by another doctor yesterday (almost a year later) and my new prescription is -1.75 and 2.00. Not 2.5!! They even had me try the prescription and its much clearer and not straining my eyes. I like the lenses I got last year from them, so maybe I'll try and get them changed with my new prescription. I do not recommend anyone going here for their exam until they change the doctor.

Complete SCAM. Most people are going in for the advertised free exam with two glasses for $69.99... Completly false. They will charge you another $100 if you want contacts. Then just anout any pair of glasses you pick up is not included in the "scam so called deal" they direct you to look at the sign in the store and in tiny print it says on lenses up to 59.99 which is like 1 or 2 basoc black pair. The exam was so basic my kids could have done it. If you want most of the things normally done on an exam you have to pay for each thing individually. They would not give me a scrip for contacts unless I paid them amother 100something dollars. So all I got was two pretty basic glasses amd spent $140. False advertising at it's best. My girlfriend was there on Tuesday 1-31-17. They promised her 2 pairs of glasses and a free eye exam. She had the poly carbonate lenses cause she has ONLY one eye. For 2 pairs was $199.99 that is just ridiculous. They said she can't have plastic lenses cause her eye exam needed poly carbonate lenses!!!! The eye exam was $45.00. You guys are a ripoff!!! So I packed up the kids and drive 40 minutes to her appointment just to find out that they don't examine anyone under 5. Hi Haven't been to this location yet typically review past customers experiences to give me a better idea. Everything seems OK some bad experiences with the staff here & there. I really liked that this office responds to every review. Thats important as well! But I'm reading to many complaints regarding the staff. Sure there is a response to a complaint but I keep reading again & again The Staff Sucks. Not sure what the problem is but it doesn't show sincerity when the owner keeps apologizing for the same complaints. But in fairness its not a one sided issue there were many positive reviews as well. Sadly though the bad reviews are unfortunately the ones that stand out. Hopefully this location can turn around the negative to positive in the near future. Oh in case your wondering we always go to our normal eye doctor. But we recently found out that our insurance is out of network at her office. That is why we were shopping around for other options within our network. I visited the Somers Point store yesterday to pick out some glasses and I must say that the staff there has to be some of the most unprofessional people America's Best has hired. I entered the store around 6 pm walked to a desk where a female was sitting to inform her that I had my exam completed about 2 weeks in the Mays Landing location and that I was there to pick out glasses. The lady looked my information up and told me that my chart wasn't there and that she would need to contact them. I walked away to start looking at glasses while she contacted the other store. Approximately, 15 mins into shopping the lady yelled across the room to inform me that she had my chart but never came over to assist me with anything. At this time, I already had about 10 pair of glasses in my hands. I continued browsing until I had about 15 pair of glasses. I pulled a chair from an empty desk and sat in front of a mirror trying on glasses for about 15 to 20 mins, still no one has come over to ask if I needed any help. I asked the employee that had been sitting at a desk not far from where I was trying on my glasses what time they closed and she informed me at 7p. It was about 645p at this time and I informed her that I needed to run to my car and would be right back. I came back and continued going through the glasses until I narrowed my selection down to 8 pair. I put a few pair of the glasses back in the wall and left about 5 or so on the counter where I had been trying on the glasses. I went to the front of the store and the lady who called the other store earlier asked the employee who had been sitting there the whole time doing nothing as far as helping customers (because she did answer her phone at one point informing someone that she got off at 730p) if she "wanted" to ring me up. The employee finally came over and asked if I wanted poly on my glasses as if I knew what that meant, I told her no and she informed me that I actually only needed it on 1 of the 8 pair that I had. She went through ringing up my purchase and she gave me a total of $815. I informed her that I had a coupon and I showed her which one, it was the 50% off 1 transaction coupon. She looked at the lady from earlier and by this time (I'm assuming she was a manager because she had extra keys around her arm and I had overheard her earlier calling another store to finish work schedules) and told me that my coupon was only valid on 1 pair of glasses. I told her that was odd because I had purchased 3 pair last year ( I'm not new to using this coupon) and received 50% off my whole transaction. Once again, she looked at the other lady and said no only on one pair but that I would be able to use my insurance. The employee said she would save my items and I told them I would come back on Friday to finalize my order. I have to go to the Mays Landing location to pick up my contacts so I'm 100% sure that I'll just stick to that location because everyone there is so pleasant, knowledgeable and professional.

Horrible experience. If you have the option to go somewhere else, absolutely take it. I had to go in this location 4 times from the date of my first contact exam. The 1st time the employee didn't write my prescription correctly and when I tried to order online my order was canceled because I had a "astigmatism". I called and talked to a manager and they let me go back so they could write my correct prescription and try to fit me for contacts that fit. The ones I wanted had to be ordered, so I waited three weeks for a phone call and never got one. I called home office and demanded and refund because after 2 months I had no contacts and was going to have spend money elsewhere for another exam. She told me they didn't give refunds, but could schedule me another appointment with a different doctor. This time the doctor was nice and way more knowledgeable than the first doctor. She once again recommended a brand they didn't carry and ordered them for me. I never received a call to pick them up and at this point don't care. Very unprofessional and just a waste of time and a big headache, don't do it to yourself.

This place is absolutely a joke. Last year (7/19/17) I came in the day I put in a new pair of contacts because one was torn and I had gotten my deposit on my flex card so I was picking up a year of contacts as well since that was my last pair. I brought the contact in with me that was torn in the package I had opened and the manager there said don't worry you are getting a year supply today. Umm yeah that I'm paying for but I wasn't in the mood to argue so I let it go. One of my boxes for the year had yet another torn contact in January this year and I didn't call in because I wasn't treated very well last time. Today I put in my contacts and drove to work. The entire trip to work my contact was bugging me. I took it out and it had a tear right in the middle of it. I work at a desk so of course I tried to work with one eye with no success. I took the other one out and I don't carry my case with me. So they are both junk. I called in and explained the situation since this was the third time it had happened and was told a manager would call me back in just a little bit. Two hours had passed and no phone call. I then call again and she explains after transferring me that they can order a trial pair. I asked about the second pair that was torn she said well you still could use the other contact. The first time I tossed them both because what am I going to do with the last contact in the box without a pair. This time I'm at work and what am I going to do with the contact that is fine.... She didn't care. She explained again and again I can give you a trial pair since only two were damaged. She ended up telling me they have a trial pair that I can get tonight so that was nice at least. I'm going to pick up my trial pair and my perscription and find somewhere else to go. I have been going to this place for over 5 years and buy all my contacts and glasses there. It isn't my fault that the last year I have had three torn contacts.... I bought them from America's best and would think it wouldn't be such a hassle to be reimbursed.

I have used America's Best for several years for my children's contact lens needs, and have used this location for about a year and a half with no issues. However, this evening I was very disappointed. My daughter had a 5:30 pm appointment for an exam. We left in plenty of time to make it for her appointment, but we got held up in some slowed traffic. I called the store about 10 minutes before the appointment time to let them know that we would apparently be a few minutes late due to the traffic hold-up. I was informed then that if we were more than 8 minutes late then I would have to reschedule. I explained that we had been driving for over an hour as it was to get to their location, but they insisted that we couldn't be more than 8 minutes late. We proceeded to the location, trying to make it on time. We arrived 9 minutes late and was told as we walked in the store that we would have to reschedule. I stated at that time that I had called before the appointment time to let them know that we had been held up in traffic and that we had driven an hour and a half to get there, but to no avail. So I calmly and nicely asked for my daughter's records, and we walked out the door. TOTALLY RIDICULOUS!!!

I'm absolutely shocked at the reviews for America's Best on Google so I decided to leave my two cents. This is the absolute best place I've found to get new glasses. I've had corrective lenses since I was a child, and as a fairly wreckless adult I've needed more than my fair share of new lenses. I've shopped around quite a bit and I haven't found any place that's as affordable as America's Best. The selection is great, the service is tremendous, and my orders have always come on time or early! As an added bonus, I've never shopped there before that there wasn't a bonus for buying two pair. As someone who's needed a spare pair on more than one occasion this is an incredible deal! I don't work for America's Best, I haven't even bought glasses in a while, but I stumbled across these other reviews and was mortified. Don't let the bad stars fool you, this place is awesome.

The lenses seemed to smudge much more than other glasses and within 6 months they are so scratched I can hardly see through them! I took care to use proper cleansing techniques and have since bought glasses from bjs which were TRULY 2/99 and do not smudge nearly as easily and NO SCRATCHES! Americas best is a rip off!

This place is a meet factory. Churn people in out as quickly as possible. My first visit was for an eye exam. The doctors are great, however the staff is terrible. When I asked for my contacts prescription they said they would not give it to me until I try on the trial pair. They did not have my prescription so I had to wait 7-10 days to get them. Considering how bad my prescription is this was totally understandable. Finally my contacts come in, I go in try them on and see the Dr to make sure they are good. I asked for my prescription again and was told I had to wait in another line to speak to one of the staff to get this. Fine, an hour and half later still haven't been seen so I left because I've already spent 2 hours in the middle of a week day. I call the next day and explain to them what happened and if I could please have them give me my prescription over the phone. The first lady after I told her put me on hold, I preceded to tell my story to 5 different people who all put me on hold finally the last person told me "oh we don't do that over the phone, you have to come in" and then hung up on me. Also the trial pair contacts are of very poor quality. Haven't worn contacts since my visit cause you know I don't know my prescription. Save yourself time and money, do not even bother with this place

I went into the Barry Road Location in Kansas City, MO to pick up a box of contacts and get a pair of glasses adjusted. When I walked in, the woman at the front seemed upset that another customer had walked in. She let me know in a very rude manner that the woman over at the counter where they adjusted glasses could help me. I walk over and I begin to let the woman know what issues I was having. She grabbed my glasses from me, turned around and just looked at them and wiggles them a touch and handed them back. She exclaimed that she had fixed them. I put them on and said well they are still slightly crooked. She claims that she thinks the frames are too big for my face. So at that point I’m irritated and I ask if I can get a box of contacts now so I can just get out of the building. She directs me to the front desk woman I spoke to before. So I walk over and let her know that the woman sent me back to her to retrieve my box of contacts I needed. She then tells that she will get to me when she can. She tells me to sit which is about 20 minutes of waiting which is a bit ridiculous. I could’ve retrieved my contacts and paid for them in less than 5 minutes. She was rude and made me feel like I was putting her out for doing her job. I understand being short staffed, but with a total of 3 people waiting and 3 people at the front and who knows In the back, there should have been no excuses. I WILL NOT be doing business with this location any longer or even the company as a whole. It’s not like what it used to be a couple years ago.

Upon my first visit I was taken care of accordingly and everything seemed to go smoothly. When it got to the part of selecting my contacts that is when things got complicated. I normally wear Air Optix and have been doing so for years so when the optometrist told me they do not have them in stock I knew I was going to have to wait. She gave me a trial pair of Biomedics to wear for the week and assured me that she was going to order my Air Optix and they would call me when they arrived. They never called! Over two weeks go by and I called them to see what is going on with my contacts to my surprise the optometrist never ordered my contacts. Instead they kept on insisting that there was no record of the optometrist making such order and to order them now would take another week or so.They kept pushing for me to buy the Biomedics because it is cheaper and easier for them when all I asked for was to have my brand ordered. I proceeded to order my contacts online elsewhere and they arrived in 3 days. Never again will I trust them to manage my orders!

Went there as a news patient and it was okay, the receptionist was nice even the man that did my initial testing but towards the end it was bad. The optometrist wasn't professional, making little dude comments about my vision and not being able to see in front of me. The lady receptionist was little help. The front desk girls are very nice and helpful but I had such a poor experience with Dr. Mengarelli. I saw him for a follow up visit from an eye infection his colleague initially treated (Dr. Tran). He would not listen to my questions or attempt to provide me with information. He was quite annoyed when I said I had a question. I felt like he did not want to be bothered with me. On top of this he was an hour late for the appointment and the lady behind me actually left because he was so behind. He was also an hour late in December when he did my eye exam. I know when you see a doctor you have to wait at times, but 2 appointments both an hour late? I went last time to have the RX sunglasses and had very bad experience . Since it was RX sunglasses and i wanted have the same color (look and feel) of RX lenses what i looked at the time of purchase. I bought what they suggested me to have the same appearance of lens but it did not have same color when i went back to collect. On top it they were not able to adjust the RX sunglasses as per my face and start getting irritated. I got very disappointed and decided to find some other place next time.

Very good for a discount store: But there was a little pressure to up-sell, and asking for real glass brought out the frowns There is seemed to be a Big Push to buy bifocals and progressive lens even with out any medical need for the same--- As an out-of doors on scaffolding construction worker, bifocals and progressive lenses are hazards to ones continued breathing and spinal health.... The advertised prices were just a fraction of what I paid for garden variety Plastic Lenses with some generic coating, but it adds a year of replacement time when the sands of time damage my lenses. If your a cover girl or Metro-sexual keep looking, other wise O-Kay, but be ready to say NO, several times. The Exam was quick but the scrip was an improvement on my old iron, The Doctor willing answered several questions some even on schools of medical thought he disagreed with politely.

Never has it been this difficult of a visit. I ordered glasses and contacts. I was told my contacts would take 5-7 business days and glasses would take 7-10. On the 5th day I called to see if my order came. It didn't, and I called two more days to get a no. I was all out of contacts and really need them as I was working long shift at my job. My mother had to go into the store to find out what was going on. Seeing as it had been 8 days without any info given to me about the whereabouts of my order. Only to find out they didn't even have our information in correctly. A phone number that never belonged to anyone in our family had been stored under my name. Now today I finally get glasses but no contacts. Despite being told they'd arrive first. They said that it should come by the end of the week. And call them then. I don't understand why I have to activity pursue them in order to receive what I paid nearly $300 for!

So far after having spent $246.47 to join the eye club, if I didn't it would have cost more like $352.95 for my two glasses and the exam., I had my eyes checked and got two pair of glasses and trial pair of contacts, I thought everything went well, but when I got my glasses within a week of having them one pair broke, very cheap frames, now I have to call and ask for new frames, plus I have now noticed my head hurting from the new glasses, I don't think the so called eye Dr. here gave me the right test for my eyes, My old eye Dr. use to dilate my eyes to really see in your eye for any problems, they didn't do this at America's Best. Plus, the so called Dr. looked like a young lady just out of school with a Dr. coat on, which I think she is just more of person who flips the glass and just asks you A or B, which one can you see better, and not a real eye Dr. Now I have to go get my eye rechecked to make sure they gave me the right prescription for my glasses and contacts. Don't get sucked in with the Free exam plus 2 pairs for $69.95. It's just to get you to come in. you will walk out paying much more.

I've never had a defect free eyeglass purchase ever anywhere. This place no exception. After a week I am told my glasses are in. Yay! I got them home and realized only one lense had the requested and paid for coatings. The other, nothing. Now I have to spend my time taking them back, if I can get there during business hours, and wait another week to have the lense corrected. Business hours not listed on Google and no recorded message at phone number stating hours as per standard business practice. Sigh. Staff is friendly enough. Doctor was great. Just a huge pain to have to chase down another eyeglass purchase problem. *sigh*

I had an eye exam today and they asked me if I was interested in contact lenses. I told them I didn't know. I had the eye exam and even after asking the Dr. to explain more clearly about my vision I still left the exam room confused. I was fitted with a contact lense for a trial period. While looking at glasses they kept trying to sell me bi-focals which I did not need. When asked about the price of the exam I was told I needed to pay for a contact fitting exam (which I never asked for). I ended up walking out feeling as if they tried to sell me bifocals I didn't need and wanting to charge me extra for an exam I never asked for.

My son needed his 2 pair of eyeglasses adjusted. We walked in on Wednesday at 10 am. There wasn't a wait at the reception and we were directed to sit at one of the 3 optical stations. There was 1 customer picking up new glasses and she seemed happy with them. After a few minutes, the associate attended to us. He took the 2 pair of glasses and did the adjustments with several attempts to the 1 pair. He was attentive and professional to make sure my son's glasses fit comfortably. We were out 15 minutes.

I called to ask if they have my prescription in stock. The girl who answered the phone Good said no we don't carry your type. I told her I have always gotten my contacts there. She rudely interrupted me to tell me my prescription was too high and they no longer will be carrying it and I will need to order online but it will take 7-10 business days. Honestly, we came here for an appointment at 12:30 they called us in ok, it was fine, but then after the pre-exam they told us to wait in the waiting section cause they would call us SHORTLY, we waited outside for like 1 hour and they hadn’t called us, we still waited and then they called us, they told us we had to wait for them to call us for options for the glasses and the payment and we had to wait 1 hour and 30 minuets. Joseph gave horrible customer service when ordering a pair of trial lenses. He acted like he hates his job. When I went in to finalize my prescription I went to order them and Zach offered the most awkward service as well, even at one point pulling his phone out to check it. This whole process took almost an hour, Zach was obviously new and had no idea what he was doing and had more interest in his coworkers than his patient. Further wasting my time was that I found out that they can’t price match or offer me the 10% Eye Care Club savings which is popularized all throughout their marketing when combined with an insurance benefit. So I had an exam done here about 7 years ago. Everything went fine to my knowledge so my spouse started to become worried about their eyesight as well. So we go back to America's best about a year or two ago. Everyone was decently nice, and maybe it's a "you get what you pay for kind of thing" but the exam was EXTREMELY basic and oddly inaccurate. My spouse's eye prescription was a bit surprising because they said that nothing was wrong with their eyesight on a regular basis but with computers it's a bit limited. No big deal. So we get the glasses in a timely fashion and my spouse can not see in their glasses. Like at all. I was convinced that maybe it was just an adjustment issue. Turns out they got the eye prescriptions switched so what would have done best for one eye was given to the other. I was severly confused. Just went to Wing Eyecare last week and they told my spouse that they may appear to have glaucoma. Honestly we wasted a lot of money and time on America's Best. I'm not saying they're the worst. They're DEFINITELY not the best though.

Be prepared to stand at the front stand for a long time while all the staff pretends not to see you. One of the older employees in there pretended not to see me so she doesn’t have to help. If you don’t want to help, they don’t come to work. I’ve only cared to come here for my eye exam. That’s it. I changed the review to 1 star.

I have been going to the Barry Rd. location for 3 years. I’m really impressed Dr. Simone and the staff. Tina, who gives the initial eye assessment is very kind and professional. I appreciate their speedy service and great customer service. I have been here on busy days and these girls work hard to make sure we get in and out in a timely manner. I recommend going here if you're looking for a new eye doctor even without having eye insurance. It’s extremely affordable especially if you join the contact club as I got two free eye exams by doing this. You don’t have to get your contacts or glasses there if you wish to take your prescription somewhere else :)

*****UPDATE TO RESPOND TO OWNER****** I posted this review on the specific Google Listing on Lincoln in Chicago. The lack of professionalisim apparently isn't limited to this location. It doesn't take much to actually look at the review to see which location I was referring to. I'll send an email, but I'm not exactly sure how that will help me. I've written this review to help others make a better choice than to visit this clinic. --------------------- I booked my appointment online. I was suprised to be greeted with a very overwhelmed and pushy staffer who checked me in by first saying... NAME? I give her my name and she's like... "Oh baby you're new, you should have arrived at least 15 mintues early." Mind you I had arrived 10 minutes early while i waited to be addressed as there were a few people ahead of me trying to address a broken eye glass problem. So I say, well my email confirmation didn't say to arrive early when I booked online. She was like, "Well we would have told you that when you called, cause IDK she has had me cancel and reschedule appointments already today (meanining the rude optometrist, but I'll get to her later). Another staffer much more calm said was he beyound his grace period, she confirmed he was and the other staffer said, well that is why. She isn't going to turn this patient away when she arrived early. So I see the doctor and she is breif and rude. She rushes through my exam, I ask her for a written copy of my Rx and she said that the next person would get it for me and walked out. So I'm like... Okay. I get to the next lady who tells me to either pick frames or check out (not rude). I decided to just check out and ask for a copy of my Rx, she was like why didn't you ask the doctor for it? I'm like, I did. She said the next person would give it to me. She was like... Well that's not correct. I'll have to go and ask her for it now and she may not actually have time to get to you. WTF????? I will never visit this place again. P.S. I did get the copy of the Rx.

I needed to renew my contact prescription since I had been overseas for so long for work and traveling. I choose to come here because of the glasses deal, since I figured I might as well pick up a couple pairs of them while I'm at it. I set up the appointment online and arrived a few minutes early for my appointment. I had some new customer forms to fill out which only took a few minutes but then waited around for about another 15-20 minutes, which I thought was a little excessive, but fine, I guess. While I waited I watched the staff. Let's say they were professional-lite. Everything was fairly cordial, but their were a few frustrating patients. One kid came in to order contacts but his prescription had expired. It was clear to everyone and to me that he was aware of this but was trying to get around paying for a new exam and just trying to reorder, even escalating it by asking for a manger. By the time I was called up the staff was a little short, understandably but they really should not let that impact other patients/customers experience. The optometrist was nice and quick. My vision hasn't changed in like 15 years and she confirmed that, signed it and I was done in about 10 minutes. Less than my waiting time. It took about 5-10 minutes of me standing in the glasses section staring at the staff for one of them to come over to help. I had already tried on a few frames and the selection was decent. Some very classic (maybe dated) frames and a several more modern ones. The staff member helped me choose between two I couldn't decide on. I paid and left. I had no issues ordering new contacts online and got my glasses about a week later. The fitting was pretty quick and pleasant and I was done. This place caters to price conscious customers and while they don't go out of their way to excel at customer service, they provide a service at a good price.

I had previously purchased my eye glasses /from the Bowie, Maryland store. My frame broke on Sunday. I went to the Bowie, Maryland store on Monday evening after work. The clerks in the store were not courtesy at all. I was avoided and wasn't waited on in a timely manner. When the clerk finally recognized me he said he had two customer waiting in the back for him. He was rushing me and didn't have time to wait on me. I stood there at the counter to get waited on and everyone that came in the store was addressed except me. i'm writing this review after having not only one, (which most did NOT even have appointments) but FOUR people have gone ahead of me with a scheduled appointment. not only is this happening today, but it has happened previously about 2 other times where we've waited even for up to an hour WITH AN APPOINTMENT. i've had no problems with the actual work at this location and the doctors and staff are all very good and very helpful, but this is ridiculous and absolutely unprofessional. it hasn't happened every time we've come by MIRACLE- each time this happens we've had to ask staff why my chart wasn't even on the wall and they had to look for it so they could even CALL ME! unacceptable.

The manager is completely rude, unprofessional and is NOT customer service oriented. When I originally went in last year I made it crystal clear to the DOCTOR which brand of contacts I prefer (they do not carry my brand and apparently don't want you to have that brand???!! They try and pitch their knock off brand). Their cheap brand caused an eye infection so I got online at 1-800-CONTACTS and ordered the brand I've used for YEARS that WORKS. My last eye appointment was 11 months ago - I've ordered 2 times from 1-800 and they've sent them right out. This time America's Best won't 'APPROVE' my RX therefore 1-800 isn't allowed to send them and AB wants me to come in for another eye exam however, they've pretty much told me over the phone they won't approve my brand until they order a 2 week trial (remember they don't carry this brand WHICH IS THE MOST POPULAR ONE ON THE MARKET) so I'll have to wait a week just for the trial, "try" the ones I know work... go in for a follow up appointment and then wait again.... and THIS is how they scam you with being an EYECARE CLUB member. So disappointed. I made an appointment to take my 68 year old mother with many health problems to get an eye exam and new glasses. I chose America’s Best because I had been there several times and even took my daughter several times. Unfortunately, getting my mother there turned out to be a pretty difficult task and we ended up 13 minutes later or her 3:40 appointment. The girl at the front desk said we would have to reschedule. I explained that I lived in Indiana and my mom in Kentucky and that it was quite difficult to get her there. I asked if it was possible to wait to see if someone cancelled or if they would have time to fit us in. She explained that she couldn’t promise they would be able to get her in, but we were welcome to wait and see. While sitting there, we heard a customer call in and cancel. We also witnessed a customer who arrived for a 5:40 appointment at 4:43. By 5:13 this customer finished their exam, ordered glasses and left. Knowing that one person cancelled and they were finished with the 5:40 appointment at 5:13, we thought for sure they would be able to see her. We waited unt 5:30 before asking. At this point, the front desk employee was away from the desk and Vanessa (unwilling to give her last name) sat at the desk with a smug grin and said she would not be able to be seen. I asked if we could speak to the doctor and she said probably not, but she would check. She returned to say the doctor was busy talking to people. We knew there were no customers in the store , so I walked back to ask the doctor if she was too busy to talk to a customer. She very rudely said, “I absolutely am.” She was chatting, not business related, to two other employees. I again asked if they could do the exam since the 540 appointment was finished and it was now only 530. She said no, you were 16 minutes late (it was only 13) and I have another appoint at 5:50. I get it, we were late, it was out of my control. I was more than willing to wait. However, they were there from 513 until 550 with no customers and made no effort to do her exam. Where is the compassion and understanding? Why couldn’t they just do the exam. The lack of understanding and compassion is unbelievable. I find it sad that doctors can behave this way.

Just tried them for the first time. From the minute I walked in the door they were helpful and courteous. They helped me pick out glasses that I liked that best fit my needs and my glasses were back in 4 days even though I have to have no line bifocals. Transitions. Antiglare and pretty much every option you can get. They took their time fitting my glasses to my face and didn't get frustrated with my question. Slight adjustments and my very rambunctious 2 yr old that is my constant companion. Alix, Hayley, and Ron went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. And the doctor was phenomenal and thorough. All off this for half of what I paid last time at another place for bad service and my glasses being remade 3 times. Americas best nailed it first time out of the gate. I'll never go anywhere else again.

I’ve been coming to this location for years and have noticed the customer service get progressively worse. I will not be coming back here again. The doctor was pleasant but all of the support staff are unprofessional to the point they don’t even try to hide how bored they are (lounging around, busy texting on their phone, joking around on the floor). What should have taken 15-20 min (came in to pick up contacts) took over an hour. The blue jackets don’t cut it. Why can only one person ring up the order? Management please look into this and consider hiring more professional staff.

They pretend to be your friend, but they just want your money. Every time i have dealt with them has been a hassle. I have never been so frustrated in my entire life. I get eye exams very frequently and every time i come back home from college i have to always get another one to get more contacts because they never have me under file (which is bs). And now they cant fill me into a appointment so i have to go back to my college house and miss thanksgiving so i can see. Thank you guys for letting me "see" my family. You "see" what i did there. The doctor that works here needs to find a job with the DMV since they like dealing with bs so much. Never buying contacts from them again. From one angry college student who has to miss thanksgiving because i cant get an appointment to get the same contacts i always get. Thank you guys from the bottom of my heart.

My fiance went in to get contacts. They don't accept his insurance so he paid for the exam. They gave him trial contacts and told him to return when he was done with them. He went in and they ordered his prescription contacts WITHOUT A FOLLOW UP at all. His contacts came in and upon using the first pack he noticed on the 2nd day he couldn't see properly. He thought maybe it was the lens so he opened the 2nd month pack to try those out. Same issue instantly. We called and returned for a follow up and he was told it was HIS FAULT for selecting the strongest prescription during that ONE exam. They then told him they WOULD NOT RETURN OR REFUND the other 4 packs he paid for. They told him if he wants he could PAY to get the RIGHT CONTACTS due to their return policy on opened products. Will never go to Americas Best after this.

I took my two young children to America's Best Boothwyn location. All of the employee's were very helpful. The pricing was just right for my budget. The employee Tanya W. who spent hours helping me was outstanding. I made an error with my insurance coverage and had to return to the store to have my entire order of 4 pairs of glasses plus all of the services my children had received redone. Tanya took extremely great care of my order,my issues and was knowledgeable in all aspects of the business. She answered every question and concern that I had.

My Dad has Alzheimer's and broke his glasses at his care facility where he lives 4 hours from me. Everyone everywhere I had been or places I called had told me no that I couldn't get my Dad glasses. Not Lindsay at the Ankeny location of America's Best. She sat with me and listened to what my situation was and even with the limitations of not being able to bring my Dad in for a fitting, she got it done. Literally, she saved me. At one point I just sat and cried in the chair. Sometimes in the lowest of times, you come across someone who just takes the time to make things better. Lindsay did that for me. My Dad loved his new glasses we picked out and I couldn't be more appreciative. Thank you, Lindsay!

Well, if u dont have vision insurance this is the place to go. Yes glasses are cheap but upgades on them are pricey. Eveyone is very friendly. My son loves his glasses. Exam is very quick. Dont go there if u think you have a health problems with eyes. This is just a vision exam.

I will never step foot in America's Best, of worst, Contacts & Eyeglasses again. I used to go to Ankeny because it was closer to my home in Altoona. Since I recently moved to West Des Moines, I chose the location near Waterfront Restaurant. I had a student knock my glasses off my face and crush them. Without my glasses, I have been very sick and dizzy. So, I went to America's Best to get a copy of my prescription so I could do a one hour somewhere else. I arrived at 5:15pm, 45 minutes before closing. When I requested my prescription, I was told it was expired, which is my fault. I get it. Anyway, I asked for an exam. I was told the doctor left early and that I would have to make an appointment, but not until Monday, two days later. I cannot wait that long as I am very dizzy and have a lots of college work to do. Anyway, I asked if they had any suggestions because, well, I just can't wait that long. The response was, "Well, don't know what to tell you. Should have come in earlier." Excuse me for not knowing that your doctor left early. When someone is open until 6, I expect them to ACTUALLY be open until 6. The comment was rude and not neccessary. I will NEVER return.

01.24.2019 Great prices. Poor quality (Not durable). Poorly structured warranties. Poorly trained staff. The price is not worth the the time and frustration. Ordered my 13 year old 2 pairs of eyeglasses last year. Both eyeglasses broke and had to be replaced. The warranty can only be used once even if there's an issue with the frames. Called to check the status of a replacement pair - after going back and forth and on and off of hold for 20 minutes, I'm finally told that the frames were on back order and that someone was going to call me and that he was sorry about that, however, they are no longer on back order and they were able to order them and they'll be here in 5-7 business days. I asked, "are you saying that you literally just placed the order?" He says, yes and apolizes. I thanked him for his time and knew in that moment that my family of four would no longer be able to patronize that America's Best again. They've lost our business.

I went in to pick up my glasses, and it took less than 5 minutes to get them, and adjust them. The employees were all smiling, and all wished me to have a good day. It only took 9 days to get my glasses, which was awesome, especially given what I paid to have them made. I will be recommending this place to my friends, and will be there when its time for a new pair.

Didn't have a good experience here, I thought I was getting the cheapest glasses they sold but later found out they sold me more expensive lenses, I even asked for the cheapest ones cause I normally wear contacts. So the glasses I got the lenses kept falling out of them, they had to send them back to have them remade, but when I got them back the case was covered in something that smelled like WD-40, it was all over it, even inside was really bad and the oil kept getting on the glasses when I would put them away, so I trash it. I think next time I'm going back to Walmart.

I visited another eyeglass store but it seemed very unorganized and was also not pleased with the selection, but to their defense it was a Saturday morning with more traffic. My daughter was getting an eye exam for contact lenses . She has worn Accuvue 2 lenses for years. They fit well and she has never had a problem with that type. I understand that these lenses are going to be discontinued in about a year but they are still on the market now. The eye doctor there gave her a different type which did not fit well and they caused discomfort. She went back the next week and told the doctor there that they were not comfortable and she wanted a script for the accuvue 2's. The doctor said no I cannot do that , please try a different type. My daughter said the doctor kept trying to push another type on her. In my opinion she was trying to up sell a higher priced lense. I know they do this.My daughter said the doctor was very rude and annoyed but eventually gave her the script for what my daughter wanted. I really don't think it is good business to treat the customer in that manner , especially after the my daughter just spent $319. On apair of glasses there. On another note , the staff up front was very courteous and helpful .

I am very shocked at all the negative reviews because my experience was far from negative. My appointment was at 11:00 AM, I arrived early and I was greeted by Ashley who was very polite, nice, and very accommodating. They even managed to get me in early by 30 minutes. The Doctor was outstanding, very understanding and caring. Christina was helpful, polite, was very engaging. She listened to what I asked for, she helped with my frames, and was a joy to talk to. I will definitely be back. I have deducted one star because they are spamming my inbox with emails I didn’t request.

Staff is mostly friendly however their products and eye exams are of poor quality. I have gone there for 10 years and my prescription gets better, then worse, then better again. I feel like the Dr.s there are not very knowledgeable. I worked in an ER so I know what a competent exam is. The last two years the contacts are cheap and fall out of my eyes or roll in the back of my eyes constantly and the frames of the glasses easily break. After giving them 10 years of hundreds of dollars, I think I am going to go somewhere that takes a little bit more time with me and has better quality items.

They love to lie about waiting times regarding frame delivery and I feel like the optometrist is highly unqualified for the job. Dr Donahue was horrible. My pretesting was terrific. The lady was knowledgable, easy to talk to, and overall a great experience. The sales associate was patient, understanding, and knowledgable. Thanks to her I avoided a huge trigger for my migraines. Unfortunately when it came time to see the doctor, I was in the room less than 10 minutes, probably less than 5. I have migraines and he didn't ask if my vision was compromised when I get them. He basically told me I was getting older, and I was lucky it was 1-3 years past when most people need glasses and that I needed bifocals, or could do reading, even though I specifically described that I need them at work for computer and fine print. He blew it off, didn't enter prescription information for the computer section, and was out of the store, within 2 minutes of me leaving the exam room. A horrible experience with the doctor, and great with the pretest and then sales associate. So the doctor gets no stars, and the women who helped me get 5 stars.

I occasionally have pain in my eyes, which had normally gone away in the past, but one day it lasted for days. So I scheduled an appointment with an optometrist at America's Best. A few days later I had a followup exam with Dr Donahue, who was awesome! Both doctors were good, but Dr Donahue really gave me a great explanation of my situation and options for short-term and long-term options. He gave me all the information I needed to make good decisions for myself, in a clear way, in which I really understood. The original doctor was also good, but left me less clear than Dr Donahue, and I left my first appointment with some questions and uncertainty. I really appreciated Dr Donahue's 5 star treatment. Overall America's Best seems much better than a 2/5 rating it currently has. I'm giving it a 4 just because the options/styles for glasses are less abundant than other places (but I didn't have a problem finding options for my preferences). The administration of the store is variable (sometime staff is friendly, sometimes they seem to be having bad days), but overall I think it's much better than the current ratings suggest.

I booked appointments for myself, my hubby, and our freshly crowned, emerging adult son. Both my son & hubby have worn glasses for years. This is my first go at it, but learned a lot from my family's experience. I really wish there was a way I could not only review the staff, but also the company I'm with. Oh, Norma, I am so sorry I brought my hubby there at 9:30, without feeding him breakfast. After 30 years of marriage, you'd think I'd know the signs of a bacon, egg, hashbrown, toast deficency meltdown. I failed. My bad. You perfectly defended & explained time and time again, the difference between the advertised $69.95 pair vs. the high end frames with premium lenses. Now is where I'm supposed to defend my hubby as he kept saying, "This is BS, I'm NOT spending more! False advertising!!" You, my dear, handled his hangriness with grace & professionalism. I owe you some homemade chocolate chip cookies or a luxury vehicle. He was such a tyrant! In case you didn't notice, our son & I chose to stand outside in the rain as opposed to being witness to him trying to change his order to 1 glasses being sunglasses. Hats off to you Norma!!!! You were so patient with him . Backstory: he just lost his father.

americas worst customer service. My daughter could not find glasses she liked and they are giving us the run around on getting her prescription. With excuses ranging from we dont have the capability to print them from the computer, to the dr does not have any prescription pads to write them on. Its a Saturday afternoon and they have a waiting room full of future appointments so i guess none of them gets their prescription. Never again will my family do business there.

I went there once and never again! Free eye exam. I bought two pairs of glasses and had the free eye exam. When the glasses came back, I wore them for 2 weeks, but my eyes would not adjust to the prescription. I've never had that problem before. The doctor goes from your last prescription and clicks a couple times from that reading. Not good! Had to return the glasses and even though the prescription they gave me was wrong, they kept my money for an incorrect free eye exam. I went to Eye Care of Iowa to find out that they prescription they gave me was wrong. NOT a nice place at all! Never will go back or recommend them to a friend that I care about.

The eye exam was done on a hurry! I knew it couldn't be accurate. It seemed like a normal everyday pace of work for the staff. I came back a couple weeks later complaining about the graduation of my glasses. Their response was " don't worry, your eyes will adjust to them" ( your eye will loose sharpness until it matches that of the lense). I couldn't use the glasses more than an hr before my eyes got tired. SOLUTION: went to family dollar and bought 2 pairs of $6 dollar glasses that I tried on before paying for, they fit very comfortable and I can wear them all the time I want. Why paying $75 for a pair o glasses when you can get them for $6 each. The quality of the material is sometimes not very important when you keep loosing your glasses all the time or break them frequently.

Made a last min online appointment this afternoon (Sunday) for 3:45pm. Arrived right on time, only to be bluntly told by the receptionist that the doc "just left". No reasoning, no explanation. I live downtown and needed a last min prescription renewal for contacts, so that was a complete waste of a 35 min drive plus time and convenience--simply because the doctor was too lazy to stick around & do his job. Btw, I'm pretty sure when I waked back to use the restroom that the doc was sitting in the room chatting away and laughing on his cell phone. Very professional, America's Best. I’ve been wearing contacts or glasses since I was 7 years old and I’m now 28. In the more than 2 decades of getting eye care and going for exams (with the exception of last year) on a yearly basis I would say this was absolutely the WORST eye care center I’ve ever been to. It’s set up like some sort of cluttered meat market. You go in an see the eye doctor and then I assume you’re supposed to sit down with a sales representative and potentially discuss options. Except that isn’t at all what happened. I expressed several times I would have my insurance cover my contacts as it would be cheaper that route and I would pay out of pocket for my glasses and I wanted to discuss my options there. NOT order anything yet. Just discuss my options. Before getting there I contacted my insurance company who told me the only thing I’d pay that day was the $10 co-pay. So I sit down with the sales rep Kelsie. I again explain to her what I want to discuss. She says my bill due is $80. She never asks anything more about glasses. She doesn’t explain what the bill is for. Just says that’s my bill. I’m obviously very confused as again, my insurance company told me I’d only pay for the co-pay today. I explain to Kelsie I don’t have $80 to give her right at that moment. That I get paid next week and could take care of the balance that day. I start trying to explain I was only told I’d only pay co-pay before Kelsie says “can you at least pay your co-pay today?” I say okay. Give me a second. This “second” involves me moving money from my bank account onto my Venmo card. This process takes not even a minute. While doing so Kelsie gets up and walks across the room and LOUDLY says to another rep “She can’t pay.” And is rolling her eyes and just overall looking very annoyed by this as if this has never happened before. A customer coming back and paying for their products later. Then she comes back and another customer comes up and is seemingly doing exactly THIS. Ordering her contacts AFTER she’s been in for her initial visit. Kelsie decides that I, who was already being helped by her and was ready have to now wait for her to help this other customer. Even though there are 3 other reps standing at the counter who could have easily come over and help. So I sit and wait for this woman to make a phone call to her job because her HSA card is declined. I have to sit here for probably five minutes waiting for this before finally Kelsie comes back to me to take my payment: While she’s taking my payment she is again LOUDLY discussing with others sales reps there that “if” I don’t come back after a month this will happen and that will happen and just overall being completely insulting, rude, condescending and outright belittling. She NEVER tried to discuss options with me for glasses. She never even asked about that further as if she wrote me off as some broke person who couldn’t afford to pay her bill. Turns out the bill was $80 because they were adding on the cost of contacts to be ordered. Now again, I’ve been going to eye doctors for 2 DECADES. I know for a fact if you can’t afford to order whatever product that you want they will work with you and not order said thing until the bill can be paid. Fast forward to today, I call the office to be absolutely sure that there is no bill I need to pay. They all act shocked that I’m even calling because they can’t find an outstanding bill for me. And I clarify again so I assume the $80 was because Kelsie was trying to order my contacts that I stated I just needed to wait a week to order? The woman I spoke with confirms, yes. So basically Kelsie made this big scene over absolutely nothing and pretty much talked herself out of a sale because she was SO rude. I recommend no one go here. I went here on a referral myself and if this is there customer service I seriously rate this place as trash and y’all shouldn’t go.

I first went to America's Best at the Des Moines location and the staff there was so rude. Even who I assume was the manager seemed to have an attitude. I decided to go to the Ankeny location when I had a problem with my glasses and I was met with understanding and compassion. They let me take as much time as I needed to make a decision how to proceed with the refund or replacement. When I picked up my replacement glasses, again I was met with prompt service and professionalism. She even suggested that I go to my car and get my sunglasses so she could adjust them as she noticed they were leaving a mark on my ear. Ankeny is the place to go! Great staff and great prices!

This is my third time calling in two weeks. The first time, I was put on hold for over 20 minutes, and asked if I could leave a message for them to call me back. I gave them my information and said I needed to know if my contacts were in stock. They never called me back. The second time I called, I waited on hold after the phone rang about 20 times, and was disconnected. I've now been waiting for almost 10 minutes on hold, again. I leave for a trip in a week and I need to be able to see. If I go in and tell them I need to pick up contacts without calling, they get huffy and say "you should've called" WELL GUESS WHAT. I've called 3 times. THREE. **EDIT** The woman working the desk was the one I spoke with on the phone the final time, and she was very nice. She had already gotten my contacts for me so they were at the desk with my name taped to them when I came in, which I appreciated. They are still obviously understaffed, as the 3 people working were helping people and the phone kept ringing. I think if the staffing issue was addressed at this location, things would improve immensely there.

Every time I call, I'm on hold for 30 minutes and multiple times they hang up while I'm on hold. I showed up 5 min early for my appt and waited for 40 minutes until they called me. I watched 2 people come in late and go before me. None of the staff apologized or offered a reason why they ran so late. When I was finally taken back the staff barely talked to me or asked questions. When I asked if this was the test that puffs air in your eye (so I could be aware) they said no. Then for the next test I didn't get an explaination or warning and it was the test that puffs air in your eye! A warning would have been appreciated! I give this 2 stars because the Dr was so incredibly sweet and instantly lifted my mood with her smile. However the staff was disrespectful and terrible.

I second the first review. These people do not care about you or your eye health or your wallet in the least. I went last week and the experience was terrible. What I witnessed was a bunch of unprofessional teenagers running the front desk area, not explaining anything about anything. I called ahead to see if they accepted my insurance and was told on the phone that they did - then went through the entire exam and picked out frames and everything - was there for a good hour or so and then at time of payment was told they don't accept my insurance. The way this misunderstanding was handled was incredibly rude and without care. I'm thankful that I didn't have to pay for anything, but I was very unhappy with the service that I got there and will never go back or refer anyone to this location or any other America's Best location.

One of THE worst and painful experiences in purchasing contacts. Customer service was absolutely terrible, slow and rude. When I came in for my eye exam, the entire staff was in the center of the store conversing, while I stood at the front desk waiting to be serviced and checked in. Not to mention their attitude when you request something, and they do not follow up at all with what they say they will (in my case, insurance). I don't go online to criticize and write reviews on my experience, but this place absolutely deserves all of the negative reviews it can get. When I'm dishing out $500+ on contacts, I expect at least some sort of customer service when trying to order them.

I've had nothing but problems with glasses I had purchased last year. It all started with the company putting antiglare on only one lease then the frames not fitting me right. After a month of wear the plastic started to peel. I didn't report it because I thought I'd just live with it. It's not even a year yet and my arm just completely broke off. I'm very upset. Not sure what to do but I guess I have to go back in.... Hopefully these get replaced free of charge. I take good care of my glasses, this shouldn't happen!!!!!

My first visit to the Town & Country (now The Palms) location was effortless. I walked in and saw the doctor in 30mins, ordered my contacts and was on my way. However, I scheduled an appointment recently and the day of I needed to reschedule. The staff did not answer on 3 seperate attempts to call. I called back today to reschedule only to be placed on hold for 15 minutes. After which, I called back and was asked to be placed again on hold, to which I said no. The young lady named Kelsey then proceeded with all the attitude she could muster to reschedule my appointment. Very disappointed at the unprofessionalism from the staff. After this visit (which was paid for at my last visit) I will be taking my business elsewhere. The most troubling part is that this seems to be a regular occurrence and has not been rectified by management. I’d be ashamed to manage this business.

Its so crazy how Americas Best (made in China) glasses Facebook page doesn’t let anyone leave reviews... Im sure they would look like the ones they have on Google, which are embarrassing for a business like them to have. My nightmarish experience started a month and a half ago when I went to take my 1st eye exam with my wife who was renewing her vision. Her experience was a completely different disaster. Up until i paid for everything it was the smoothest process I had ever seen. But once the money changes hands you open up a huge can of worms. It took almost 2 weeks to get 1 pair of the 2 pairs I had paid for, ok il make due, even though I was told prior to paying it would take less than 1 week. Throughout the next 3 weeks I continued receiving phone calls telling me the glasses were ready and I would go to the store just for them to tell me they don’t know why Im getting calls saying they are ready when in fact they are not ready. I still get calls saying the same thing today, almost 2 months later, go figure. Anyway 3 weeks of b.s phone calls I finally go to pick up the 2nd pair. After putting them on they are hurting my ears (made in china) so I I would like to exchange them. They said fine great, give us a week. Knowing how ridiculous and disorganized they are I give them 3 weeks before calling to find out whats going on. I couldn’t get a straight answer from any of the employees there so I drove to the store. I go in last Saturday to pick up the new pair and the employee hands me the same exact pair I left them 3 weeks prior. I lost my sh**. I gave them back and walked out saying I would bring the other pair and return everything, I just want my money back. They can keep both pairs. Truth is I need glasses, I never knew my vision was as blurry as I learned. What I don’t need is the headaches and frustrations that come with dealing with such a ridiculous company. Or my wife to receive a horrible attitude from customer service when calling to resolve my issue. I DO NOT RECOMMEND Americas Best (made in China) and I am extremely unhappy with the poor poor service from both store clerks and phone customer service. This company should be ashamed of the ridiculous service it provides their customers. And I would evaluate my business plan if I was the owner because this company will not last long providing this type of service.

Less than a year can pass by between getting new contacts and seemingly every time I've gone in I have to join the eyecare club again....when I brought that up to one of the ladies working there, she laughed and said "no comment". Funny but I think she knows what's up because it's probably a gimmick pulled on everyone. They also never, ever, ever call to tell you when your contacts are ready. This was my first and last experience with Americas Best. I was completly dissatisfied with my purchase. I paid extra for a digivue elite lens that was promised to be noticably thinner than my current lenses and I also paid an additional $46 for an anti glare coating that was advertised to reduce glare and "halo effect", neither of which lived up to expectations. The lenses were the same thickness as my current lenses and the anti glare coating made no noticeable difference when compared with my current eyeglasses. The quality of the frame was also less than average and not what I would of expected from a pair of eyeglasses that totaled $354.95. I did receive a prompt refund.

BUYER BEWARE! This was the worst experience I have had with a healthcare provider, ever. I was suspect when the optometrist wanted me to pay almost $200 to have a procedure done for my dry eyes without offering any other alternatives. Also, my prescription was WAY stronger, and my eyesight is pretty stable. So, I went to an ophthalmologist (MD). First, the prescription the optometrist wrote was off by over a point. Also, my tear ducts were not even the reason for my dry eyes. It was allergies, which he specifically said wasn't the cause. My conclusion: if this practitioner is not a quack, he's not far from it. I WOULD STAY AWAY!

Waited way too long after exam so I left very mad before even completing my check out process. Insurance coverage valid and verified but was told it wasn’t. This store is very unorganized, the manager Marquita was so rude,she had such a bad attitude when they were the reason i couldn't find my prescription,she was walking around huffing and puffing and said some very nasty comments under her breath...when i asked her to repeat herself she said "if i wanted you to hear me i would have spoken louder,or if i was talking to you you would know it" i asked to speak to her manager but she told me i needed to wait til they were less busy...eventually i got too upset to continue to be disrespected by her and had to leave,after i was told the manager shantae would call me but she never did....never again will i go to that store...she is so very unprofessional and has absolutely no social skills at all...how is it she is still employed when i see so many people complaining about her...i should have read the reviews before i put myself through that emotional test!

Yesterday my daughter called me(I was out of town) to tell me her eye was killing her, she did not know how she had injured it but she was in a fair amount of pain. She had an appointment for contacts at America's Best Contacts on Friday but was leaving work (Thursday) to go early to see if they could give her different contacts to ease the pain to her eye. She arrived at the store and the doctor, Dr. Beyers was off duty and leaving for the day, however when he saw her come into the store, even though he was off duty and leaving, he stopped and took the time to look at her, examine her eyes, prescribe antibiotics, tell her not to use her contacts and schedule a follow up return appointment for her with him tomorrow. That is OUTSTANDING HEALTH CARE. I would like to thank Dr. Beyers for taking such great care of my daughter. We have been to America's best two years in a row for contacts for two of my daughters and have not had a bad experience. After the outstanding care my daughter received yesterday, we will continue to use America's Best for our eye care needs. Thank you for caring about your patients.

I noticed a couple things. Some good not all bad. The first time I walked in no body helped me or even said hello....maybe they are just busy, but then everyone else who walked in after me was greeted and helps with the quickness and enthusiasm. I thought maybe they just missed me but that continued for 15 minutes while I wondered around waiting for help. It wasnt until after I gave some looks that someone helped me. The second time I came back later that day most of the staff acted as if I was an inconvenience for asking to try on some sunglasses...so that was rude. Like I said not all bad the girl that ended up helping was super kind and went out of her way to get me the different price quotes I needed, helped walk me through what options I made and helped me get squared away The actual prices are VERY fair. I went to several places around town that week and America's best is in the top 3 for pricing!

I researched a new place for eye exams and new glasses online. I have been having some issues and needed desparately to have my eyes checked and get new glasses. This place had very good reviews so I decided to pop in and check them out in person. Everyone in the entire office is so nice, friendly and helpful from the moment I walked in the door through my entire process. They were very informative with everything as well. I even drove 30 minutes there and had forgotten my wallet at home. They allowed me to call my information in as soon as I got back home so that my order could be placed. They really met up to my expectations and beyond. They have now gained a new customer. I can't wait to get my glasses which by the way, the whole overall cost was very reasonable. I will make sure to let others know so they can get the same experience instead the hastles other places tend to give. I LOVE y'all. Definite 5 stars and 2 thumbs up!

Place is a joke. Doctor asked me what eye conditions I have because he was busy. I have no idea man that’s why I’m here. Quickly shoved me out the door and sold me some contacts that immediately tore in my eye and gave me vision problems. Also told me I was buying name brand then shipped me generic brand. When I told them that I tried the first pair and they weren’t right the lady on the phone cut me off, made me wait another 15 min on hold and then got back on like she had no recollection of the conversation. She then said I couldn’t return anything because the box was opened even though I had to open them to realize the doctor messed up. It is hard to say anything nice about this place because every experience has been horrible. It gets worse and worse every time. I'll suggest the following: Verify Insurance before the appointment (so that yall don't waste your customers time). Make sure your employee's know who is in the building (because I received a phone call while sitting in the waiting area to make sure I was coming in for the appointment). I dislike this location and the only reason I came in was because it was near my home. I went in on Wednesday July 10, 2019 for a eye appointment and to purchase eyeglasses, the associate Joyce that worked with me gets 5 stars. I asked to see a doctor but, had to get an appointment for the next day. When I came in I said I needed to see the doctor for my dry eyes the previous doctor knew of my issue and knew me. So I told them that I was in the Eye club, so the next day, I'm asked how will I pay, so the staff dosen't make notations when making appointments for eye club membership . Ive been coming here and renewing my membership since 2011. The service on my appointment date was horrible, the doctor looked at my eye, I explained my previous issues and that I've been coming here since 2011 and in the eye club. He never gave me a prescription for my dry eyes thats called Erthromycin to help with the dryness something that the previous doctors would prescribe for me, he looked at my eyes for one minute and then and begin telling me how I wash my face affects my eyes, never listening to the fact of me trying to tell him, I know why my eyes are dry, I wanted him as a doctor to tell me when it was best to resume wearing my contacts as the previous doctors that worked here had did and they were always right and I followed what they prescribed and the eye care regime it works perfectly then and now. He never did, I explained to him I was concerned that my eyes were dry 2 weeks before and now on that Tuesday July 8th again, he begins to tell me its the brand I'm wearing, not listening to the patient, I know its not the brand, but then he tells me to wear uncolored contacts, I said sir thats not the issue, they checked to make sure I could wear color before prescribing them to me 3 years ago, my eye were dry befire that, so this isnt the issue, my dry eyes come from being a long time wearer, but I'm very well aware of that, he continued telling me how to wash my face when thats not the issue either, I had a flareup with my dry eyes and need the doctor to look at my dry eyes and make a decision based on that, not look at my eyes for a minute and tell me how to wash my face. Thats not how they became dry, and I don't wear makeup anyway only liner and, he didn't listen to that either, so as a eye club member he did nothing to help me, my eyes are still dry and red its the ointment that I needed, point blank. He then ask me again was I in the eye club and I said Ive been coming here for a while and in the eye care club more than once, to him, not listening to me as a patient period, So I left not knowing when I can resume wearing my contacts or what could of caused this flare up, or treatment for the dryness. Not professional as a clinic at all. Forest park American's Best didn't use to be this way. I know because, I get my eyes examined every year.

I originally was pretty pleased with this place. They have fair pricing and accept my insurance that I have through my work. However, lately I haven’t been very impressed with them. My last two encounters were unsatisfactory. The first incident was when I called to schedule an appointment because I was due for more contacts and wanted to speak with the optometrist about headaches that I was getting while wearing my current contacts. I got in right away but after sitting for 20 minutes in the waiting room I had an employee come up to me and said that because of my insurance they can’t see me today and that I won’t be able to get more contacts for another month. This of course made me furious because I took time off of work to come in and speak with them and instead of telling me over the phone when I initially made my appointment about not being able to be seen at this time they had me drive clear across town to tell me in person. The second encounter was a month after the first and I called again to make a new appointment. The lady I was speaking to on the phone told me how I actually could have been seen the upon my previous visit and that she had no idea why her co-worker (the first lady I spoke with on the phone) told me I couldn’t be seen. Then I go in for my appointment again and wait in the waiting room for 15 minutes and then the eye doctor finally saw me. He looked at my eyes very quickly and I felt very rushed. He told me that the reason for my headaches is because I have different prescriptions in each eye where my old contacts have the same prescription for each eye. This confused me though because he was the one who initially gave me my old contacts.. So I’m completely annoyed and go to checkout where I’m seated at a desk area. The lady that was helping me was extremely rude and pushy. I had just gotten married and so my insurance card had my maiden name on it. She mentioned several times how I “really should get that changed”. Even though I informed her each time that it was something that I was working on. She kept nagging about it until finally I had to tell her to drop it because she was treating me like a child and I was getting angry. I then left their office angry and annoyed for all of the inconvenience that they had caused me. I will say that I do still go to this eye doctor because like I mentioned they have fair pricing and accept my insurance but if I find something better I definitely will be taking my business elsewhere.

Originally got my exam done at the Philadelphia location. They were very nice at the Philadelphia location but unfortunately had come up with the wrong prescription. My husband and I had back-to-back eye exams scheduled at 5:30 and 5:45... we weren't seen until 6 PM. We were then rushed through our exams and neither the doctor nor assistant seemed to care much about us as people or our concerns, they only seemed to care about getting the exam done as quickly as possible so they could leave because it was the end of the day. Also, do not recommend the Field Test...not worth the additional $15 and my husband and I both had a hard time focusing our eyes during the test and the assistant thought we were crazy. And I'm glad we looked for frames before our exam because the doctor instructed us to look for frames after the exam, when our eyes were blurry from the dilation...I wouldn't have been able to see clearly enough to choose my frames then! Was very grateful for Massiel who didn't rush our final purchases and talked us through all of our options for lenses, and listened to our needs and concerns. Did feel like we were charged more than we should have been based on the co-pays listed on our insurance cards, but maybe that's more of an issue with the insurance company.

Got upset when i said i didnt want to buy contacts through them; became rude and dismissive the rest of the time. I have worn glasses for 45 years and this is the first time nothing was checked when I was given the glasses the staff did not even sit down. Did not check placement, straight, or behind my ears. Everything else was done normally. Not having any adjustments at all and then I was told I can come back any time for an adjustment.

Walked in picked out a pair of frames right away. The lady at the front desk was super friendly and helped me look at my insurance and get my information in the system. She told me to come back in a half hour for an exam. I came back and she wasn't there, instead it was an exteremly rude woman who for some reason got an attitude with me right off the bat, I'm still trying to figure out why. It was unbelievable, I don't know how she would expect people to want to do business with her. She vaguely told me thy wouldn't get me in and there was a "whole bunch of other people so they don't know when they could see me but it will be awhile". Learn customer service. I'd much rather start the process over then give my money to these people.

Came in to pick up my glasses the first time. I ordered two frames. One arrived damaged, and neither had the correct prescription. Came back a week later for a second eye exam and new scrip. The second doctor took her time in the exam, unlike the first (which lasted maybe 5 minutes). Came back again to pick up my glasses. Only one of them had arrived, and the vision was much much worse than before. Very disappointing outcome, but the staff were very courteous and gave me no hassle when I asked for a refund.

We first came here in September 2016. All of the staff my husband and I have been in contact with at this location have been nothing, but friendly, professional, and helpful. The service has been prompt and timely. There was a minor issue with a name change, but it was an easy fix. My husband had never worn contacts before, but they graciously provided advice and guidance without judgement. When we were ready to invest in new glasses, it took a couple visits to make a decision. Each time we went in, we were never pressured to make any purchases and had consistent service. When the glasses were ready to pick up, we got an automated phone call, which was really nice and convenient. When I went to go pick up a pair that came in today, the GM Rena, took her time to make sure eveeyrhing was perfect. Another employee also took the time to tighten the screws on the pair I was wearing at the time. I'd recommend this specific place to get exams and purchase contacts/eyeglasses.

I went there to get my glasses fixed a couple weeks back and they were so rude. Told me my eye brows were uneven and that's why the glasses looked weird but actually the glasses needed adjusted. On top of that i could hear the employees arguing and being very unprofessional and rude to each other which inturn made the experience even more awkward. You guys need to learn customer service skills. I'm taking my business elsewhere

I’m not sure where to even begin. Wishing there was an option for a zero...the wait time was long even with an appointment- had to listen to the employees complain about another employee calling off work that day- there was misinformation given about the type of contacts available, the prices were inflated since my last visit, the “club” prices were misleading due to lack of explanation and the receptionist was walking around the store in dirty grey socks with no shoes. I have been to this store in Chesterfield before and it was an acceptable experience but the store has lost my trust and business. I would say I’d never go back but do not have a choice because I have to wait 2 weeks for them to order a pair of trial contacts...that I already paid for...before they will give me my script to go elsewhere. Very dissatisfied.

Came in to get my mother an eye exam and glasses. The first issue was with the exam. The girl barely tried to explain the procedure to my mother and looked to me to do her job. I paid extra for an elective exam which yielded no results and was told "oh well try again next time". The second issue was the doctor. He looked at my mothers name and uttered "oh jesus" with an audible frustration. We were the only people waiting at that time. During the doctor exam he wouldnt speak in full sentences like my mother was stupid and then got frustrated and kept telling me "she doesnt want a prescription in that eye" like my mother doesnt want to see clearly. I would use your services again but not that doctor. Completely unprofessional. The only saving grace were the associates at the front of house. They were kind and genuinely interested in helping me. My final concern lies with the final product. Im afraid she will receive glasses that make things worse or not getting a refund if thats the case.

When I made my appointment with them they failed to tell me that they had moved locations. When I got to the new location, they had lost my chart and requested I fill out another. After I asked "how could they lose my file"? She did a more through search and found it was misplaced. Then asked me to have a seat while they saw 3 patients in front of me! I went in last wednesday to have both of my pairs adjusted. The lens were completely fine, it was just the frames that were a bit crooked. I have had other bad experiences with this location in the past but had no choice but to return to this location since it is the closest to me. I walk in, explain my reason for the visit and they promptly send me to the customer service area. Everything is fine up until this point. I explained my situation of the glasses to the associate and she proceeds to adjust them. As i try the first pair on, i see multiple scratches right in my line of sight on both the left and right side. I try to clean them and the scratches do not come off. She hands me my second pair and again scratches on the both lens that did not come off after cleaning it. I asked her what she used to clean them that would've caused this because i did not bring them in like that at all. She said that everything they used is meant for proper maintenance of glasses. I told her that i understood but that i DID NOT bring my glasses like this. She said she is not sure what it could've been. I asked her if she was supposed to remove the lens from the frame (lens have anti-reflective coating) before applying heat because she didn't remove the lenses to make the adjustment and she just said again that everything is meant for them. I asked another associate if there is anything they have that can remove this and he said no that this is damage most likely caused from leaving glasses out too long outside in the sun cause of the HEAT! I was extremely upset as i now have two pairs with scratches right in my line of sight. The associate never wanted to admit that she was the reason for this and even had the audacity to ask me if they bother me that much! Really!? Its like wearing a dirt pair of lenses and not seeing clear. I was so upset that i just left! They didn't even offer a solution of any kind. Spent over $360 for these glasses to only have a bad experience from day 1 and im not even mentioning the previous problems I've had with this location. I recommend everyone that is considering this company and location to go somewhere else. I'am a very understanding person but this was just too much. ****(Update)**** Corporate office has contacted me and offered to resolve the issue. Very happy and pleased that they were able to make it right. Changed the star rating.

If I could give a -1 I would. My wife brought my daughter in today early for appointment at 3:15, they said my insurance was not accepted there. My wife said yes it is, can you call # on card to verify. She said no. So my wife called and after 20 min on phone the insurance said yes we are covered. My wife asked ins to call them and tell them 1st hand that we r covered. So my wife went back in at 3:25 and asked if ins called. She said yes but now its past your appointment time by 10 min or so , so we can not see you today. It was your fault ,not my wife's and you want us to reschedule!!!!! No thank you. We will see professional doctors and receptionists elsewhere.

I have never had an eye exam in my life, and went here because it was close to home. I now realize I took this store for granted. The staff are knowledgeable when it comes to purchasing glasses and assisted in finding a pair that was both practical and stylish. The doctor was very friendly during the exam and provided great assistance during my first ever eye exam. The selection of frames, accessories, cleaning products, and lens options was overwhelming. However, the associates made the buying experience relatively less stressful than it seemed. I was overall satisfied with the staff and merchandise with this store and look forward to continue receiving great customer service in the future.

I was referred from a family member in 2010..all smiles..i went thru the whole process to get fitted for contacts and glasses.at the end I decided to just get glasses 2 for $69..great deal..the bad part is one of the pair obviously wasn't my script..she doubled checked it and she says that it was my script..my argument was I CANNOT see out of these..I put the other pair on and I could see..she allowed me to walk away an unhappy customer..I eventually gave those pair away to someone in need..I am now a club member tomorrow I will be picking up a pair if glasses (my own frame) and I pray that i don't have that same e experience and if I do I will NOT leave until I know that it's right!! I do like you guys but I have been stung!!

Need to have system of take a number. My first trip to do a simple return the place was so busy. I waited about 10 min decided to come back during the week. On my second return I was also told to take a seat (need manager for return) several people came in after me, they took a seat, but began being helped before me. The recepcionist was very very rude, not even looked at us while speaking. My wife and I got there with our 9 months old baby and 5 minutes past the time of the schedule they didn’t want to assist us. Literally, five minutes past the schedule time and the woman said that the doctor would be able to assist us. We told her that we were leaving then and, still without raising her eyes to look at us, just said “OK”. I’m so sorprised that in the US we still have these kind of businesses, specially when we have tons of better options around and we decided to give them a try. My recommendation: go to any other place if you want a better treatment and not to go with the hurry that they won’t assist you if you get 5 minutes late in the parking lot.

It was the worst eye exam experience in my 20 plus years of wearing glasses and contacts. The eye exam was quick and painless, but picking my glasses up was a nightmare. It starts with me coming in to pick up my glasses.I was told to wait in a certain area until it was my turn...I did. I then notice people coming in after me being helped before me for the same service. Instead of saying something I just left. Later I returned to pick my glasses up for the second time in one day. Still horrible service. The techs got an attitude because the glasses didn't fit like the displays did and I had her adjust them several times...the tech then calls a co worker to assist her. They finally got my glasses to fit. The tech then asked me if I got my other pair and I replied yes. She tosses my eye glass case on the desk and walks off without saying thank you for your business or anything in that regards. She was better off telling me to kiss her ass. Well I guess it was me being a non white male. I can tell you one good thing about that store " They will never have to worry about seeing my BLACK ASS in there again!!!!!"

This is in regards to the West Des Moines, IA location. Customer service was hit and miss depending on who's helping you (as with anywhere). I had an OK experience with the exam and getting fitted for glasses. There aren't great price options if you only want a single pair of glasses with a high Rx but that's an issue with the company. I went in to pick up my glasses and worked with Laura; she was amazing and obviously knew her stuff. I went out to my car then notices an issue with my 2ND pair of glasses so I went back in. A different girl was there, Christina- assistant manager of contact lenses. I told her my issue and she very deadpan and unsympathetically told me that's just the way they are without even trying to think of a solution. I almost left but Laura walked by (clocked out, on her lunch break) and stopped to see what the issue was. She tried to manually fix it but that didn't work, so she immediately said they would send them back so the lenses could get recut. I'm so happy there are some people who take pride in what they do and understand that the customer should get what they pay for! 5 stars for Laura, outstanding customer service. 1 star for the assistant manager of contact lenses, Christina.

First I ordered glasses back in January today is the end of February and if I hadn’t gone I would still be waiting on them to tell me my glasses were in . While waiting on my follow up after and half and half of waiting I go to ask where I am in wait time they hadn’t even put my folder to see the DR. At this point I’m in rush cuz I went in at 3:30 it was already 5:15 and had places to be when I did my first appt I told them I use biofinity . Now looking at me receipt I see they order Softmed contacts instead of the biofinity no where did the lady ordering Elliette tell me she was changing my brand of contacts !!!!!! I’m hoping they will cancel my order so I can just go elsewhere since I’ve been on hold for 25 minutes for them to ‘check’ about changing it to biofinity . They also didn’t use my insurance when purchasing the contacts. Vision works is across and not as big of a pain to go to . The staff seems to just want to chat and your left waiting forever to get any question answered. Except they didn’t give me my printed prescription so again to waste my time for them to do anything. Considering sending a letter to BBB this is just ridiculous.

I had a terrible experience today. Went in for a contact exam which I specifically stfed multiple times. I got all the way done with and found out the forgot to do the contact piece of the exam. I then go back to waiting. A few minutes later someone comes to get me saying the doctor “has to keep moving on” and that she’ll “figure it out later”. I was then still suppose to pay for the contact exam even though it never happened. They lady was getting mad and almost yelling at me when I said I wanted to just have my glasses prescription and to leave. She continued to argue with me that she never said they didn’t have time until I was literally out the door. Will never go back or spend any more money here again.

This location is the best in the Twin Cities. Do not let the location discourage you from giving them your business. The staff is friendly, fun, and above all, there in your best interest. I went in late June for contacts. When I went back for my fitting check up APPOINTMENT a week later. Doctor had been called out on an emergency 2 hours before I arrived and no one was there to do follow up. The did not bother to contact me. I told them I was not driving 45 minutes to an hour back there for check up. contacts were fine. They gave me another pair of contacts but would not sell me more. I told them I was not making a third trip there and was leaving for 2 weeks for vacation in 3 days. They said they would mail prescriptions. Never mailed them. Fast forward to Feb 1st. I called on that day and contact manager agreed to send prescription. It is now feb 12 and still do not have prescription. waiting for the contact manager or dr to call me back. what a joke. I guess I paid $70 for 2 pairs of contacts. never again/ rip off and poor customer service

We bought glasses for my grandson here. Within a month, the side that goes behind your ear just fell off. We took them into the store right away. They immediately said they would do nothing to fix them since we had not bought the insurance. I explained that this clearly was a manufacturer problem. You could see that nothing had broken. She told me to take them to a jeweler with a small welder and have them weld them. This is all within one month of buying the glasses, and he had never had problems with any other pair he wore. We will NEVER buy from here again. Buyer BEWARE.

The service needs improvement- bottom line. There should always be someone at the front GREETING customers and we should not wait and guess as to when or if someone will help us. I stood at the front and just watched an observed while the phone rang at least 6 times. UNACCEPTABLE!! At this point I had to say something, I asked what is the system for serving people here??????? Im told to have a seat.... more waiting. Then, after I waited 20 minutes for the employee to tell me that my contacts were available. That is totally ridulous! I dont mind waiting for a few minutes but they are totally understaffed and disorganized!!!!!!!! If you go there, prepare to spend at least an hour to handle your business! To be honest I’m a little confused about this location, by being “America’s best” eyeglasses is not close enough to best and far away from professional. I have been waiting for my prescription to be mailed for over 3 weeks, every time I call and ask about the status I’m being told they don’t have any mail stamps and that there is no manager at this location. Not sure what business is this without any mail stamps it sounds pretty ridiculous to me. I was advised every other patient that did business with them is also waiting for the stamps. I called the 800 number to try to get answers but that was no help. Never received a call back from anyone, called again today I was placed on hold for over 5 minutes no one came back in the line. Stay away from this location they are not professional and they will make you wait on your paperwork for weeks! 1 star is too good for the score.

This place is under new management and has a new doctor as well. This place was awesome. The staff greeted me as soon as I walked into the door. They were so helpful also. The doctor was amazing. She is really good at what she does and she was so friendly. This place offers a free eye exam with the purchase of 2 pairs of glasses. I got two pairs of really cute glasses with glare resistant and scratch proof resistant added to them but originally the price was only 69.95 for two pairs and I paid 153.89 after tax for both but that is because I thought to myself wow I should just go ahead and pay the extra 25 to make them better than ever. I could afford to do that due to the free eye exam and both glasses only originally being 69.95 plus tax. I got one heck of a deal! I'm excited to see my new glasses when they come in! I will definitely come back to this place.

Great doctors and deals. Recently, I ordered contacts and asked if the receipt would be in the box (insurance purposes)...in which they said yes. However, when the box arrived there was only an order form. I called, they said they could not fax/email and I had to pick up the receipt. I picked it up, but never recieved "sorry for the inconvenience or sorry we provided the incorrect information originally". Disappointed because I have been a loyal customer for over 4 years.

It was fine. The front desk staff and the person who did the pre-exam were very pleasant and seemed eager to help, but everyone else seemed preoccupied with other tasks. It felt like people only half-registered that I was there. The exam was rushed and I left without any idea of how good or bad my vision was. The salesperson pointed me to the frames and went back to work on something, then had little to say when we wrapped up the order. When I picked up, the gentleman gave me my glasses and said to ask him if I needed any adjustments, then turned to work on something else. It's not that anyone was rude, they just seemed too busy to bother giving any individual attention. This was my first time at an Amerca's Best, so probably this is just how they do things--discount prices, get people in and out, employees overloaded with work. This was my first-ever pair of glasses, so I wish I had gone to a place that would have taken more time with me, but I'd definitely use them again if I wasnt looking for much guidence or help.

The reviews are true about this place. Stay away. Although the Dr. was very nice, everyone else here acts in an unprofessional manner. I have ended up cancelling my order and my husbands order. I seriously couldn't even get any help to PAY for glasses or contacts. As in, they couldn't even put forth the effort to take my money. I sent an e-mail on the contact page of the website regarding my issues and received no response. That registered at zero on the surprise scale. My advise to anyone considering going here - DON'T! A company seriously has to try to perform this poorly. If my employees acted in this manner there would be a housecleaning, yesterday.

This was the first and last time i will ever go to this store. i have been using America's best for a very long time. Everyone but the doctor was rude and seemed like we were inconveniencing the staff. I was told my glasses would be in by September 15 but usually they are in sooner. So, at 4pm on September 15 which was a Friday, I called the store beings the next day was Saturday. Tim answered and I had said i was wondering if you could help me, my glasses were supposed to be in by the 15th if you could check on them to see if they are in. He proceeded to tell me it was the 14th and i stated I know exactly what the date was but tomorrow is Saturday and did not know if you'd get a shipment in on the weekend, he stumbled his words and said possibly but let me check. He got back on the phone and stated that they were there and I said oh but its the 14th and I hung up. Seriously, this store needs to close or get new workers with all the negative comments I've read. NEVER WILL BE BACK AGAIN!

I didn't even have to walk into the store to experience the inclination of the representative I spoke to on the phone. I made an appointment and all I was trying to do was verify my insurance; TWO of my family members just went to the same place, and did exactly what I was trying to do, which was renew a prescription. Not only did she patronize me by trying to tell me that they went to a different place WHEN she had prior information ON FILE, she put me on hold multiple times, she was extremely uncivil in the way she dealt with me. Furthermore, when trying to explain to her what I was trying to do several times, and getting brushed off and treated with disdain, I cancelled my appointment. I refuse to deal with such substandard customer service and after dealing with all that i did JUST over the phone, I will be taking my service elsewhere. It would be selfish of me not to write this review for others to know what they're getting into before they do.

Not sure how to review here.... Had an appointment a few months back, things were awkward. The person who did my exam was rude and frustrated when I didn't respond in less than a second when asking which was "better"... I then began to answer quickly because she was unkind about the situation. Ordered my glasses and bought in to their 3 years of exams scam. I was told my insurance would cover the initial $79.00 billed by them since it was for a contact exam, however insurance did not cover it because it was shown as waived on my final receipt. I was then left owing my insurance $99.00 for something I thought I would owe $20 on. Now I need to order contacts and am hoping they have no objections to me wanting a new eye exam first as the contacts they provided after the exam don't seem to be the right prescription.... I will post if I return to this location. I may try the Maple Grove location first?

Brooklyn Center, Shingle Creek location: Employees are friendly at best. I took my mother here for an over do I exam. When she saw the Optometrist the exam wasn't very long. The came out and the optometrist told me he can't prescribe glasses because she had cataracts and then pushed us off, no explanation nothing. Oh wait he did say he would give a us a referral for a clinic and surgeon. The person who took our money for the exam didn't have any clue about a referral. We talked to someone else at the counter she took my phone number and email address. We obviously walked out without any referral information. I called the next day and the woman apologized profusely and said she will send out by EOD. I waited a week and nothing. So I called again and I explained everything to the man that answered and he assured me that it would be sent out that day. Guess what? 3 weeks later still no referral. I will never go to this location or ANY America's Best, nor would I recommend this place. If I could rate this place with NO STARS I would. I only trust my eyes to my Opthamologist at my Medical Clinic, now my mother does to. What about you?

I was shocked to see how the sale person in that store was acting. She was chewing gum, looking to the side while listening or talking and didn't show any interest to help. I am waiting to receive my glasses because I really need them, but in the future planing to go any other place to avoid dealing with this rudeness.

This was the worst experience I have ever had in a healthcare office. They were condensing, rude, dismissive, untruthful and unprofessional. The front desk person behaves like a bully and she does whatever she wants to the customers and gets away with it bc everyone including the doctor seems to be afraid of her. How ridiculous that they allow this to continue. I understand a company as large as AB can't keep a strict eye on every employee and every office, but as you can see from the myriad of reviews that this location has been a problem for quite some time and Americas Best is fully aware of the situation as evidenced by their replies to the negative reviews and they do nothing. This is a healthcare facility and to allow this to continue seems incredibly negligent and perhaps the health department should look into what is going on at the Somers point location. If you want to go to Americas Best please don't go here. Go to Mayslanding. It was night and day. They are wonderful there. (PS: notice no response from the company and check out the BBB reviews (1 star).

Americas best has great deals but this location is by far the worst. Their employees are rude and didn't even bother to call when my contacts arrived. I'll still use Americas Best Contacts and Eyeglasses but I'll be taking my business to a different store.

Waited over 2 hours for a basic eye exam and glasses. This was on a Monday morning. Staff was friendly but were very unorganized. Avoid. Just came back a week and half later with my wife (1/28). Another disaster, still waiting an hour later after getting here at 10:45. Plan at least 2 hours for each of your visits; 5 minutes of actually getting helped and 115 minutes of waiting.

This store has some of the worst customer service. The location in town and country in Kendall is terrible. I had ordered a pair of contact lenses for trial and hadn't gotten them for 2 weeks. So I decided to call them to see what was going on and they had told me that they haven't even placed the order yet. The store has terrible service and they can care less about the customer and how they feel. Never going here again for anything.

If I could give zero stars I would. My first visit was great. Scheduled my follow up for my contacts. (I’ve worn contacts for years joust wanted a new brand w updated prescription as things were a little blurry) Prescription is not correct. I told the lady this when I first came in but she said u need to put the contacts in I went into the room and put them in told her and tried to tell the dr(a different one from the 1st) that it’s super blurry and I can’t wear them. I sat down in the dr chair he asked how the contacts were I said not right, it’s blurry and I can’t see. he practically pushed me out of the office, didn’t explain anything, didn’t answer of my questions. Super rushed. Said he’s going to put the prescription back to my old one ( the one I came into update because I wasn’t seeing as well) I said what was the point then if it doesn’t fix anything and I was rushed out the door. The lady Laura was super rude. Also didn’t answer any questions told me they do that all the time. I said what was the point of having to put the contacts in if he wasn’t even gonna look at them or have me test anything. She didn’t know. Told me the price of the contacts I asked if the price was w my club discount she said yes. Rings me up and I notice there was no discount applied. These people have no idea what customer service is. Rude, rushed and overall very disappointing. Idc that I still have 2 years left of my eye club thing, I’m taking my family and I to a new eye dr. One who can spend more than 30 seconds on our appointments and actually listens to what I have to say. Save yourself $ and frustration and wasting your time here. It’s a joke.

I am also shocked at the reviews on here... this is by far the best place I've ever gotten glasses. The staff is super helpful and nice and the glasses are good quality and budget friendly. I absolutely recommend America's Best if you are looking for glasses that won't break the bank.

I don't know why folks are puzzled over their costs. Just read the receipt. Lmao I did go for the 2 pairs for $69.95 with a free eye exam and I got that. However I did pay extra $20 for the medical eye exam and even more for special coating on both lenses. Total came to about $400 but two pairs with transition and anti-glare on each for only $200 is a deal. My old pairs were covered partially with insurance but I still had to pay $300 extra for anti-glare coating. The $69.95 only goes towards glasses that aren't getting anything special added to them. Will update this review as needed.

The eye exam was fine. I did choose upgrades for my son's glasses. Paid $370 for 2 pairs of glasses with transition lens. I also purchase the 1 yrs warranty. I asked about cleaning cloth and spray for the new glasses. I was told they ran out of cleaning cloths and the spray needed to be purchased. I was told I could purchase a cloth if more came in. Wow... how classy. You spend $370 and can't even receive the free cleaning cloth. Tacky and Cheap. I will not shop here again.

Figured I would try this out since they had the three-year for $99 exam deal including contact lenses. The prescription was off I had to had have them redo it but after I told them the prescription I wanted I got three pairs of really nice frameless drill mount glasses for what I would pay for just one anywhere else. Probably the WORST customer service skills of any place I have visited. Especially the contact manager, Teresa. She thinks she can be rude and short with everyone. I would highly recommend NOT going there and their staff receive more training on how to work in the customer service industry.

My wife saw Dr. Hollins during her visit here. She said his eye care was distrusting and sketchy. He was quick and to the point while not seeming to really care about my wife’s eye care needs. She has been using glasses for years as she had a fear of putting in contact lenses. He did not show her or recommend the contact lenses for her as we were hoping our eye doctor would provide. Very disappointing seeing we pay for eye insurance and are regulars at America’s Best. Not anymore.

It was time to upgrade my perscription, so I visited a nearby America's Best to explore eyewear and prices. It was very busy, crowded and the staff was juggling to service customers. I spent an hour there taking pictures, but there was no opportunity for a true consultation other than being told they were booked for 2 weeks. While dining in Bowie I went online and found I was 3 blocks away from this location and I was able to book an appointment online for 45 minutes later. Upon arrival I was told that the Dr. had and emergency and I rescheduled my appointment. I did receive a call from an unknown number but I didn't answer and it was from the store. That let me know that they check their online appointment schedule frequently. I was surprised to find options at this location that were not on display at the other store. I returned for a 1015am appointment a week later, filled out paperwork, was in with the technician, then the Dr. all within an hour. The tech was pleasant, answered any questions and made me feel comfortable. Dr. Mau, a very efficient Asian woman was excellent. She was gentle, very pleasant and offered suggestions. The store manager, Mr. Harris was pleasant, patient, and very knowledgeable. He made this a very positive experience. He took his time and made sure I and others before me received the best service possible. The other staff members went out of their way to make customers feel comfortable and their time well spent. Wirh my order complete I look forward to my new eyewear and returning to this location in the future.

I went on on March 10, 2014 for routine eye exam and new glasses. I was told that my glasses would be back in approximately 2 weeks. 3 weeks later I hadn't heard from anyone so I called them. I was told my glasses weren't in yet and they didn't know how long it would take. A week later I called again. I was told that 1 pair of my glasses were there but the other one wasn't. Again, they didn't know how long it would take for them to come. On April 23, 2014 I called AGAIN. My second pair of glasses were in but they had no idea why no one called to tell me they were in. Poor service. I won't go back again.

Probably the worst customer service I've ever had, constantly interrupts you while trying to ask questions. takest your money then refuse to give you your prescription after you've paid for it. Ended up having my appointment moved to another branch because there techs were so bad. Won't be giving that branch another dime ever again.

We were rushed and the lady at the front desk didn’t want to do the work to call and verify my insurance even tho I had coverage, she said if I want my daughter to be seen I’m just gonna have to pay out of pocket and deal with my insurance myself for a refund! (As she shoved the card on the counter pushing my wallet while I had my had out to grab it) I came to this location because it is closer to home but will not return after this experience. Yes I paid out of pocket because my daughter needed new glasses but such horrible customer service. Everyone acted like they didn’t want to be there!

By far one of the worst customer experiences I've ever had with a business. The lack of communication, transparency and willing to help address issues is one of the reasons why brick & mortar companies like these fail. Note: This was not a single instance. Unfortunately, I've had multiple issues with this facility submitting orders, processing claims and scheduling exams. I would not recommend them in the future.

I stopped there yesterday to buy a new set of glasses . Two young ladies were busy restocking and kept doing their thing. I looked a glass samples for a while and no one asked if I needed help. I left and went to Vision 4/less and got good service. They just lost a customer.

I have been coming to this location for three years . The ordering of contacts and glasses are horrible at this location. I just left there and the Dr. prescribed a sample with stigmatism for my daughters contacts . It see the associate William and get tells me they don't have it in stock but he will give her another sample prescription. I told him he can't give her another prescription, she needs what the DR prescribed. He brushed me off over talked me which I've seen him do to others and gave me those anyway. On another occasion it took them 4 months to order and recieve my glasses. Then 7 months I got a call to pick up contacts that they already have me but I go and see .They don't understand why I got that call . Unacceptable

Went in for contacts. They charged for an exam. Then told me I couldn't have the contacts until I have a class for them. The last time for the class is 4:30. They already knew I couldn't come in for that because my appointment was for 6. That's the earliest I can make because of work. Now I'm out the cash and no contacts. Thought I was buying 2 pairs of glasses. Came in to pick them up after spending $250. With insurance and my frames were tagged $69 & $79. So I was already thinking my rear 2 pairs of glasses for $79. This is so not true. But when I went in to get them they said I only ordered 1 pair! So I of course wanted my money back. My vision isn’t even that bad. The guy said I had the most expensive lenses. I just can’t believe it cost that much for 1 pair of glasses. So I asked for my prescription and then I left. I then went over to JCPenney‘s and got glasses. When I went to pick them up they were the wrong prescription. So now I’m fighting with America’s best to give me back my money to from my insurance company so I can get another I exam. The old prescription from my old eye Dr was still good. I only wanted glasses because my old ones were scratched. So I asked penny’s to compare the 2 prescriptions and they gave me some crazy prescription with a stigmatism. So then I had to go back in America’s best and try and get another I exam. And they didn’t want to deal anything with me. So they said they would refund my money to my insurance company. That I have yet to see. Do not use these people they’re awful !!!! Customer service is terrible and you don’t get 2 pairs of glasses for $79. Or whatever the commercial says. Fraud!
