I just had my first appointment with them and it was such a very lovely experience. The doctor was very kind and explained everything to me to make sure I understood what makes a healthy eye. I love it when doctors take the time to explain things to you, not just write a prescription and leave. Anyways, the doctor was wonderful and all of the staff were super lovely.

We were visiting from out of town and my stepson had problems that required an urgent care visit. The doctor had given us a referral to another eye doctor and we were told they would see us right away. We got to that eye doctor and was told they couldn't see us until 4:15. They really are great here. The staff is warm, friendly and accommodating and Dr. Musgrove is knowledgeable and direct. The difference from the last office a was at is night and day. Not to mention the rates here are way more reasonable than other offices in town. If you are looking for an opt in steamboat (and i know you are). This is where you want to go.

I reserve 5 stars for very rare 5 star quality. That said, I found that Mountain Eyeworks is definitely a great place to get your eyes checked out; they provide great service. I messed up with my insurance and they were very helpful helping me correct that. I will be staying with them for the long term and look forward to it. I found my last eye doctor via an emergency that they graciously barely charged me for. I miss that doc, but Mountain Eyeworks was a great find now that I am in Steamboat Springs.

Upon arrival at Mountain Eyeworks I was greeted by a very friendly front desk receptionist that made me feel comfortable instantly. The reception area was very clean and upbeat with several types of eyewear displayed to spark my interest in new eyewear. The initial staff eye examination was very thorough and everything was explained prior to performing the tests. The entire office was very clean and proffessional. Then I met Dr. Cutter (and Dr. Nate) for a detailed eye examination which was very thorough and informative. I felt very comfortable, safe and well taken care of through the entire process of my eye examination. This is a first class operation with above average staff and fantastic doctors. Evidently I am an anomaly! I definitely got my "moneys worth" out of my contact fitting fee. In the past, Lou suggested a contact brand/lens/power, I tried them out and all was well. This time, the contacts weren't floating well on my eyes and my vision was impacted. Lou and his young intern tried 3 or 4 different lenses before we finally found something that worked. It took almost 90 minutes and I never felt rushed (I was the last patient of the day, so that helped!). Mountain Eye Works professionals and staff are great and go the extra step to make sure your vision is as good as it can be and the patient is happy.

Terrible business and very sketchy practice. My wife needed her RX while traveling and they would not give it to her because she didn't "finalize" her prescription. We already paid them and they want us to pay again for the prescription we already paid for. And it cost us our free annual eye exam also. Will not be returning nor recommending this highly unprofessional "business".
