Absolutely abysmal experience. My wife had an appointment at 3:15 and sat in a room for over an hour before being seen, at one point having to leave in order find someone. Apparently the doctor had to tend to some "emergencies", but no one relayed this information to the other patients? When everything was said and done it had been nearly TWO HOURS for what should have been a 30 minute appointment. Poor communication and lack of attention to detail. I do not recommend this place and will not be going back.

If you're looking to get LASIK surgery, look no further. This is the only place you should go. I did my research and went to 7 different clinics for LASIK consults before I found Hines Sight. The initial visit was with Dr. Cushing and he is absolutely INCREDIBLE. He was so knowledgeable, I had a lot of questions and he took the time to sit with me and answer every single one of them. The next 2 visits including the surgery were with Dr. Coco the new ophthalmologist at Hines Sight. He is amazing. He is so friendly and attentive to patient care. THIS PLACE IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST!

My experience with Hines Sight ended in disappointment. I attended an extensive pre-LASIK screening with Dr. Cushing and was informed I was a great candidate for LASIK. I had done prior research into the different LASIK procedures and gathered questions to ask Dr. Cushing and Dr. Hines during the pre-screening. Unfortunately, I was unable to meet with Dr. Hines because I was told he generally does not meet with LASIK patients outside of the surgery unless it is requested by the patient. During the pre-screening, I began going through the questions with Dr. Cushing and he informed me that he did not have time to go through each one of them at that time. We agreed to allow he and Dr. Hines to send me the answers through email sometime in the next few days. This was reasonable since I had a significant number of questions for him regarding the LASIK process. (I wanted to be sure I understood the process and the risks involved to be able to make an informed decision about my eyes). Time went by and I never heard back so I called the LASIK coordinator to check the status and she informed me that Dr. Hines did not plan to provide answers to all of my questions because he was too busy, but she would send me the partially completed answers. One week later and I still had not received anything, so I called again. This time the LASIK coordinator informed me that they would not be sending me answers and that Dr. Hines decided that I was not a good candidate for LASIK. I was surprised at this response because I was being told that I was not a good candidate for LASIK because I was asking questions about the procedure itself, the risks involved, and the success rates that the doctor had experienced. This was a disappointment because prior to Dr. Hines refusing to provide answers to my questions, I had all but decided to allow Hines Sight to perform my LASIK surgery due to my good experience with the staff and thoroughness experienced during the pre-screening. However, because Dr. Hines would not answer my questions, the staff became unresponsive, and I was told I was no longer a good candidate for LASIK without ever even having the chance to speak with Dr. Hines, I am choosing to take my business to a different LASIK surgeon in Denver who is willing to spend more time with his patients. I do not generally write reviews, but in this case I felt I should share my experience to inform those individuals, like me, who would like to be well informed of the LASIK process and have easy access to the actual surgeon for questions, that Hines Sight may not be the best choice. Dr. Hines’ success rates are good (just like any good LASIK surgeon) and I’m sure I was referred to him by another eye surgeon for a reason; however, the Hines Sight office seems to lean towards catering to a higher volume of patients which limits the surgeon’s availability to the patient. Overall, I’m disappointed with my experience with Hines Sight and felt the situation could have been handled in a much more professional manner.

I went in for a simple eye exam and got contacts that were great. But I was also given information of PRK surgery that would fix my vision long term. I felt very confident with Dr. Coco and decided to go ahead with prk surgery. Let me tell you, IT WAS THE BEST DECISION I HAVE EVER MADE. I wont have to mess with putting contacts in my eyes every morning or wearing glasses. THIS IS AMAZING. Thank you very much Dr. Coco, Dr. Cushing and the entire Hines Sight staff, YOU GUYS ROCK!~

This place may be what some people need or are looking for so I won't say they are awful. The tech did all these tests I have never done before (at first I thought this was neat and later not so much)and the doctor came in at the end to basically sign off and to tell me I can't get a contact lense prescription day of. I've never had to wait to get a contact lens prescription. I couldn't leave with glasses since they are apparently upstairs and expensive and my eyes got dilated. I was grateful they took some off my bill because it was never made clear to me what to expect or what I could or could not receive.

I went here for a regular eye exam to get some new contacts. The staff and the Doctor seemed primarily only interested in their sales pitch for Lasik. When I received my new contact prescription, it was very blurry. I compared the prescription to my old prescription and the Doctor had mistakenly swapped the right and left eye. I won't be back here, and no way I'd go here for Lasik. My expectations are for Doctors to know their Left from their Right.

Currently in Hines sight exam room with plenty of time to write a poor review. It’s 5:33PM. My original appointment was at 3:00PM. The office staff called me at 2:15 to tell me they were running an hour behind and nobody would be able to see me until 4PM. I showed up at 3:45 to fill out paperwork didn’t get called back to an exam room until 4:30. Then a technician not a doctor brought me back and did what felt to be the eye exam with the lens switching and 1 or 2 drill. The technician had me remove my contact lenses and dialated my eyes. He then told me to go wait in a waiting room instead of the exam room I had been in “for my eyes to dialate some more”. I waited there from 4:45PM until now when some other techs walked by and whispered “OMG he’s still waiting”. The “head of medical something” then came and proctored a less than half sincere apology and an excuse stating that trauma surgeries had them behind. Still waiting. Now 5:45PM. Different technician told me I’d still be waiting 15 minutes after bringing me back to this exam room. Entire office and exam room feels very antiquated. Has a spinning text ala windows 95 screen saver on their computer screen. Have a pretty bad headache forming from not having my contacts in for so long now. Just left the office 6:15.

I have been with Dr. Hines and Cushing since 2000. They have been terrific. Dr. Hines did lasik surgery for me as well as two free corrections. In May 2017, I went for an annual checkup and found that I had cataracts. Since Dr. Hines was retiring, I chose Dr. Coco to remove them. The left eye went well. For the right eye, I used laser surgery because of the previous lasik surgeries. Two weeks after surgery, my distance vision was five steps worse than before surgery. The wrong strength of lens was used. I had an appointment with Dr Coco at two weeks after surgery and again at four weeks. The information and advice given at the two were inconsistent, but basically, he refused to remove and replace the lens, but suggested YAG procedure and lasik. I sought a second opinion from three more experienced doctors who said that lasik was very risky because of the previous surgeries and that the lens should have been replaced at two weeks after surgery. Also, the YAG procedure would not correct five steps of vision. At this point, I do not feel confident enough to have lasik surgery with Dr. Coco. My husband and I will not be returning . This experience was not good in too many ways to list here. We are sad that what has been such a reputable office is no longer what it was.

I had the BEST experience with Hines Sight. I had a LASIK procedure done in January 2015 and the doctors/facility/staff are TOP NOTCH. Dr. Hines was very attentive and made me as comfortable as possible while I was having the procedure done. Dr. Cushing provided spectacular follow-up/post-op care. I highly recommend Hines Sight! I have had many friends that have had lasik from different places and most of them have had to have their eyes re-done. I was skeptical because of their results, but a couple of different people recommended me to Hines Sight because they loved their experience so much. From the first phone call I knew this was the place that I would have lasik. The staff is wonderful and very helpfull. They went out of their way to make sure my experience was superior! Dr Hines was very patient and wonderful in surgery. He and his staff made my experience an amazing one!! I would recommend anyone thinking about having lasik to call Hines Sight for a consultation! I am so glad I had lasik and even more glad that I chose Hines Sight!

Dr. Hines recently performed Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) for me. There were many steps that had to be taken before surgery including; a comprehensive eye exam, working with my insurance company, scheduling, etc. and the staff did an excellent job. They were friendly, professional and efficient. Dr. Hines is a kind, professional, compassionate doctor, and you can throw in a good sense of humor to top it off. I had read the horror stories on the internet about the things that can go wrong with this type of surgery including not being able to close your eyes completely (the most scary for me). The surgery went extremely well and I am very happy with the results. If you are considering this surgery, there is no need to worry, Dr. Hines does excellent work. I just moved here for school and needed to find a reliable eye doctor. I saw Dr. Cushing earlier this week and he is the best eye doctor ive ever had. He is so sweet and knowledgeable. He really took the time when looking at my eyes and recommended I try a new pair of contacts. and they are PERFECT. The whole staff is very attentive. The tech that did the tests before you see Dr Cushing answered all the questions I had and when she couldn't answer them, she told me to ask Dr. Cushing. Dr Cushing sat there and answered every question I had.. THIS OFFICE IS THE BEST. EVERY DU STUDENT SHOULD COME HERE

Hines Sight got me set up for surgery at their facility, and everything was so smooth and easy! It isn't fun to get cataracts early, but it is even worse when you can't even use your insurance. My incredible experience, that culminated with today's awesome Catarac surgery, started with Bernadette Resch's assistance from meeting Thursday @ 8am with my new provider (Dr Macari w/Swedish Family) before a 2nd apt that afternoon @ 2:20 w/Dr Cushing (that both had to be done before pre-OP Friday @1pm with Dr Coco)! Bernadette has walked me thru this entire process, I'm overwhelmed with her service, today's surgery with Dr Coco & insurance/a Physician for the first time in 3 years that all started by a "fishing" phone call returned by Bernadette! Thank you Hines Sight staff & Drs, I would & I will recommend Hines Sight to anyone in need of quality health services, equipment and qualified staff!

First of all, I will say I won't be going back. There were a few oddities about this place. One, the doctor himself, while sweet and nice, did very little when it came to the exam. The tech did everything, down to going through the motions leading up to the written prescription. She did irritate me in forcing me to have a scan done, because I wasn't interested in having my eyes dilated this year (I did it last and it's always highly recommended, not required). She told me it was the only alternative to not having my eyes dilated, but missed the step they'd be charging an additional $50 that my insurance doesn't cover. Fast forward to being charged for this...I argue it and the front desk girl cops and attitude and says she hears every conversation and knows that it was mentioned, but was willing to bring the tech up to verify that she had done so. I'm sorry, what? I said, so it doesn't matter, right? Regardless I will still have to pay. She said yes. So it was basically a formality to try to publicly shame and make you feel crazy, when they never mentioned it to begin with. Had I known it was extra money, I would have canceled the appointment and gone somewhere else. When it came to the Dr. the only thing he did was review what tech had done and sign off of the documents. Then proceeded to offer lasik as an option even though my eyes are still changing and have consistently every year of my adult life. Last I checked you needed two years of consistency to even be looked at for lasik. I did mention that and he said that was a wiser decision. But told me he had two options, $1300/eye or $3500/eye for some permanent contact. I am so annoyed by this situation, I had to share in hopes no one else would be left blind sided in hines sight.

The front office was extremely friendly and welcoming, unfortunately, I did not go in to make friends, I went to get Lasiks. I highly suggest seeking out a different Optometrist if these are the services you are looking for. This office seemed like it had decent ratings and was moderately priced. I did not want to go to a super cheap place because after all, this is a voluntary surgery. After the surgery, I had my right eye (dominant) go completely bloody and blurry, while my left healed rather quickly. I called and they said it was normal and that I'll see them for a follow up appointment. My eye was still 90% bruised about 2 weeks later when I went in again, and again, I was assured everything was fine. I had another follow up two weeks later and they tested my vision. My eyes were off. My left eye now has a better vision than my right and they even tried to convince me that they were the same, that explained the headaches. After like 3 follow up visits Dr. Coco finally accepted that yes, my eyes were off and if it were him he would get the other eye "touched up" this means going back into surgery and taking the super goopy eye drops were everyone stares at you for another two weeks in one eye. They said they would call with a follow up appointment and they never did. Also, one thing to note, on my 3rd follow up they left me in an exam room for an hour and fifteen minutes with no contact or check-ins whatsoever. I thought they actually closed and went home while I was in there and had to look under the door crack to make sure the lights were still on. When Dr. Coco finally came in he apologized and said they are a bit busy, looked at my eye for about 4 minutes said, we should schedule another follow up appointment and left. Please please look into going to a different optometrist other than Dr. Coco unless you want to go through the headaches (literally) of having a sub par at best procedure. I’ve been a patient here for over twenty years. I cannot remember a time when I was seen at my scheduled appointment time. Often I have waited significant amounts of time before my exam begins. Today I wanted for about 30 minutes before I was seen by a technician. While waiting in the patient area after getting my eyes dilated I saw another patient coming out from an exam with dr Cushing and she arrived at least 20 minutes after I did. I left the practice for a few years because I was frustrated and came back because I thought it would be better than going to Walmart. This office certainly hasn’t changed. I don’t think they value my time and in the future I will need to schedule my vision exam elsewhere. It’s too bad. I really like dr Cushing

Warning do not go to Hines sight! I had LASIK done a year ago. Worst experience of my life. Starts with the office staff and managers who won't return calls. Then I had to have an enhancement after 3 months and was told that would take care of everything. It didn't now a year later they are telling me I need a third LASIK surgery!!!! Of course now what I paid for is not covered and they want $1800 to do another enhancement. I got a second opinion. Turns out LASIK won't fix the problem. The second opinion doctor says I have cataracts!!! In both eyes which after a two hour appointment Dr Cushing didn't even notice. The Office Manager Charlie informed me that Dr Cushing wasn't looking for cataracts only an enhancement!!! OMG seriously. They would of taken the extra $1800 dollars plus the $4000 I already paid and I still would of not been able to see. The second opinion doctor said do not do LASIK again and to have a third surgery is unheard of and unsafe. So, after paying all that money I am back in glasses. This place is a total scam!!! Then to find out Dr Hines retired and no one said a word. He also retired abruptly I was told by both managers. That should tell you something. Please don't go to this place they truly will rip you off and they aren't even taking any responsibility for it. I'm talking to an attorney now.

The staff from top to bottom was incredible. They are so warm and welcoming. They get you in fast and listen to every word you, as the patient, says. 10/10 !!!

I've had lasik surgery years ago and recently had cataract surgery on both eyes. I wish I could give Dr. Hines six stars! Besides myself, he's done surgery on my daughter (lasik) and my grandson (lasik) and we all think of him like family. We're not, but that's the way he treated us. Because of him, I've never had to wear glasses. That's not because of great genes, but because of his skills. I was first impressed with him because he'd done a lot of work for the Colorado Avalanche hockey players. So glad I found him. I highly recommend him!

I found communication to be an issue with staff and dr to help me answer questions. If you expect or need customer service, I'd go to an office that has time for their patients. These people are either too busy, or unwilling to help. .. I was asked to go to someone who was willing to decipher test results for me. My insurance company and I both paid for 3 visits to this office and now I need to go pay another office for results on tests. Unfortunate unhappy customer -

In December, 2013, I elected to have PRK surgery performed at Hines Sight. My intended profession requires 20/20 vision, and also a good chance of healing if there should be blunt trauma to the eye. Without question, one the the best decisions I have ever made. The surgery changed my life in a matter of minutes. At first, I was very skeptical about getting laser correction but after seeing what Hines Sight had to offer, my concerns went away. Dr. Cushing and Dr. Hines are both respectful individuals that are very passionate about their field and I clearly saw this in the my interactions with them . A professional environment and pleasant staff who went the extra mile to accommodate my concerns/needs. I will gladly recommend anyone to get their procedure done here.

My son went in for double vision in one eye. Dr. Coco could not figure out what the problem was. He asked if my son was trying to "get out of something", within earshot of my son, so my son knew the Dr thought he was lying. The Dr was visibly exasperated which made us feel stupid. They were thorough but he had double in one eye still. I took him to Dr. Manning which is one floor up. Guess what? She figured it out. He needed prism lenses due to how light was refracting in his eye. So Hines Sight sucks. If I did give 10 negative stars I would. My son is 16. I'm sure he could come up with a million other "excuses" to get out of something other than double vision. I wish you could have seen the look on his face when it dawned on him that they thought he was lying. Shame on you Dr. Coco. There was legitimate concern and you let a patient walk out because you couldnt figure it out. I would never set foot in this practice. EVER.
