They are more than twice as expensive as Costco or a similar place. However, they appear to be very knowledgeable at their profession. The retail side is very expensive - which is relative. I paid less than half at Costco for better glasses.

Dr Aigner and Dr Perez are both very easy to talk to and they do a good job at attending to all my concerns and questions regarding my eye health. I appreciate that they have digital retinal scanning tech that saves me the hassle of dilated eyes. I just started Accutane and Dr Aigner was able to provide me with all the information I need to look out and prevent damage to some glands in my eyes (I forget the name of) while taking it. Their location always has plenty of parking and it's easy to access since they aren't on any busy streets. All the staff here are very knowledgable and attentive.

My experience with this facility was almost perfect. The staff was very friendly and helpful and they carry a good selection of glasses that I like. My only issue was that it took over an hour for my checkup. From the time they called me back to the time I actually left to purchase my glasses was longer than an hour, with at least 25 minutes of me sitting in the room doing nothing.. Other than this the visit was perfect and I would definitely go again.

I can't believe the amount of times I called without a single return call from Dr. Mary Ann Murphy. The front office staff is a mess, and I really thought it was just a clerical issue but they dealing with Dr. Murphy was far worse. Claims submitted for a full year of contacts to my insurance, which I never asked for, and when I asked to have it removed, Dr. Murphy said more than once she would remove the claim and never did. I eventually had to have my insurance company do an investigation to get the claim finally removed. All the month's of hassle and having no contacts could have been resolved if Dr. Murphy could have taken the time to return a single call to clear up the miscommunication between herself and her staff. Don't put yourself through such a bad experience. I really enjoyed Dr. Murphy's expertise in eye care but the service just isn't worth it.

First, I want to make clear that the doctor I saw, Marisa Perez, is excellent. I have loved going to her for the past three years. However, I do not love the office staff and I am actually not going to return because of them. My eye insurance did not cover my most recent annual checkup because it was actually two days less than a full 12-months after my previous checkup with them. And no one in the office checked or asked me if this would be a problem when I scheduled the appointment. I had no idea that my eye insurance had different coverage rules than my health insurance -- they are both through Anthem and my health insurance does not have a 12-month requirement (it operates on a plan year basis, so as long as it's a new plan year everything is covered). So it came as a complete surprise to me when, months later, I received a bill for $150 (on top of the $96 I already paid at the time of service). I immediately called the office and began a month-long back and forth with a number of the office staff as well as the office manager. During this time, I never received a single call back whenever someone promised me that the office manager or someone else would call me back once they had more information. I had to initiate every phone call. Eventually, the office manager told me that they had checked with the third-party company, EyeMed, who actually provided the insurance and that they would not bend their 12-month requirement at all. The office manager apologized but refused to take any responsibility at all for my appointment being scheduled too early to be covered by insurance and she would not discount the $150 charge at all. And this is not the first problem I have had with the office staff either -- I have always found it difficult to get someone to answer the office phone when I call to make an appointment. Oftentimes the phone goes straight to voicemail, which has a recording saying that I must have called during off-hours (but I didn't). Also, twice in the past the office staff has mistakenly billed my health insurance instead of my vision insurance, which led to more phone calls on my part in an effort to fix the billing errors. But having to pay an extra $150 for my annual checkup, an amount which totally negates the benefit I get from my eye insurance, is simply the last straw. You can't expect to make so many mistakes and then be completely unwilling to make it right and still retain customers.

This place will use forceful sales tactics to increase their bottom line. I just wanted an exam for new glasses. I asked on the phone if they gave the prescription. I was told yes. Appt scheduled, showed up, asked the receptionist the same thing before signing anything. Was told yea. Waited 10 min past appt time. Was then told a full exam was required. I didnt want to do that as I need my eyes at this time of the day so dilation is a no go. Asked just for the refraction exam. Was then told they have to ask the doctor as they don't usually give the prescription. I walked out. Not worth wasting energy on a business that lost the skill to listen.

The doctors here are very nice, although they weren’t able to resolve my eye problem and I had to see another one. The medical side treatments were not covered by any insurance an ultra sound machine (a heated hand wand they roll over your eye for 15-20 minutes) and the doctor knew that and didn’t tell me I’d be paying out of pocket for it, it wasn’t until the second doctor warned me before the treatment it wasn’t covered ever by insurance (thank you for telling me so I knew not to get more because I couldn’t afford them). I got a bill for $500 dollars in the mail and tried calling/reaching out (4x) and writing a letter to work out a financial agreement with not a single response back. I will not go back here.

Ordered sunglasses. They said they would have them for me in about a week and would call when they came in. Week came and went I assumed they had a supply problem and would call when it was ready. Waited a few weeks before I called in to ask what the issue was. They said they had received them in shortly after I had ordered them but didn't call. I asked them why and they said it was my fault I wasn't notified as I had asked for no email notices. Wrote them a letter expressing how I was unhappy with the situation and they ignored it. It's a shame as they do have good service in the doctor's side of the office, but the front of house is a problem and soured me on the practice as a whole.

I haven't seen an eye doctor in about 12 years and decided on FR Eye Associates because our good friend is Dr Aigner. I must say Dr Aigner was amazing! Very efficient, explained things is terms I could understand. I give her 5 stars. I gave them 1 star because the eye glass part of the business needs serious help. I wonder if they have a office manager that keeps tabs on the customer experience? I spent $900 in two pairs of glasses. The transitions were ready in a couple weeks, very acceptable, but the single power sunglasses took nearly two months, and every week I called for a status update I got a different story. The office seemed very busy but if you watch the employees they don't seem busy at all and you have to flag someone down to get help. They desperately need to re-invent the customer experience on the eye glass side. People have sooo many options now days, no one is going to put up with a bad experience. I hope Dr Murphy reads these reviews and puts some time into re-inventing the eye glass section.

I've been going here for 2 years now and always recommended it to others (Even went out of my way 20 minutes to get here because I liked it so much). Unfortunately, will now sadly have to go elsewhere. The past few times I've been here I've had to wait 20+ minutes to get any help in the glasses area, even when I'm checked in. (And I'M the one who has to get their attention!) Every time I've gone in and waited Daniel sits at his computer in the back the WHOLE time while people are obviously walking around behind him waiting for help. Been going here for a while. But now they seem to busy. I missed an appointment due to work complications. Got Monday off to make sure I didn't miss my next appointment. They sent me an email saying my request didn't not go through cause someone else scheduled an appointment for the same time and date. I called was placed on hold for 25 mins. They said whoever I talked to made a mistake and could get me in the 3rd week of August. No thank you horrible customer service. Ill just go somewhere else.

I just fired these guys. Been going here for four years. Doctors are great! Office staff is shaky at best. Always a new face every time I go there. Went in today for 2 o'clock appointment got there around quarter after and was told that I had to reschedule. These folks used to be better than they are currently. My son had an eye appointment at a practice that shares space with Front Range Eye Associates, and since I was in the market for new frames, I took the opportunity to look around. I found some great frames at a good price and I particularly appreciated the time Daniel, Amy, and everyone on staff took to help me figure out my insurance coverage. They spent about 45 minutes total on the phone with my (very unhelpful) insurance company, and they were friendly, experienced, and competent. I'm thrilled with my new frames. I wish I lived closer (this was about a thirty-minute drive for me) because I would love to come back here. Great service, good selection, wonderful people.

I bought some glasses there about 1 yr ago and recently went in to have them adjusted. I mentioned that my lenses had a few small scratches on them and without hesitation (after confirming that they were still under warrranty) they ordered new lenses. I walked in yesterday and the popped out the old, popped on the new ones and I was on my way in two minutes. No charge no fuss. They have a great selection and are VERY helpful, take many insurances and always take care of you. My whole family goes there and we all love them.

I've been seeing Dr. Aigner at FREA for over two years now. She and the office staff are wonderful. In the past I've gotten headaches with prescription changes, and when I brought up the eye dominance concerns with Dr. Aigner, she took them into account and made an adjustment to my new prescription to ensure that didn't happen. I regularly order contacts and recently ordered two pairs of glasses through FREA. The vision insurance I have wasn't the best and was complicated to understand, but they worked with me to find the best deal between their in-house discounts and insurance to save me the most money on my glasses and contacts this year. The staff are pleasant and friendly, and I've had no scheduling issues or lengthy wait times like other reviewers have described.

I was terrified of getting an eye exam and glasses because I don't like anyone near my eyes. But Mandy, the tech who performed my initial screening was so cheerful and comforting, I had no anxiety until the glaucoma test. Dr. Pipkin performed the main portion of my exam, including the glaucoma test. She put me so much at ease that I am no longer terrified to have the tests done. Maybe one day, they'll be able to work me up to contacts! Wonderful, wonderful staff and a great environment.

Really good experience. Dr. Pipkin and Ashley made my 6 year visit very enjoyable. Yes, it had been 6 years since I had an eye exam plus I have a family history of eye medical issues. I knew I would need new prescription but it was the other needed exams I was a bit worried about (I am at that age). From the beginning Dr. Pipkin and Ashley made me feel very comfortable during the testing. After the tests Dr. Pipkin explained each of the results in a very professional and friendly manner that put me at ease. I was very impressed with her knowledge; she explained why each test was needed; the results; and a plan for my annual visits to monitor my eye health. I feel very confident that I know my eye health (no medical issues) because of her explanations. A final comment – I do not like any test were an instruments will touch my eye; I needed such a test. Dr. Pipkin explained what the test was for; why it was needed. She then conducted the test in such a manner, which I was put at ease throughout the exam. so ill begin by saying that i have been going here for over 15 years. Over the last several years the service has not been at the same level as in past years. They appear to be growing to fast and miss the mark on providing a client a positive customer experience. Scripts that are off and recently just had my eye exam and new script and had issues with new glasses bought elsewhere and yet they did find i had a slightly different script on the re-exam and afterwards charged me for a visit.... wont be going back and will no longer recommend.

Leaving some advice here that I wish was found before visiting Front Range Eye Associates: Make sure you are clear and have confirmed with the doctor EXACTLY how much you'll be charged before you let anyone treat you. Long gone are the days you can trust healthcare professionals and Front Range Eye Associates like many others are in the business of making money. In my particular case it was an annual eye exam which is covered under Medicaid/Medicare. According to them this exam was supposed to cost just my copay and I was clear when making the appointment my particular coverage and that I just wanted this specific eye exam. It has been about 20 years since I've had my eyes checked. Everyone was nice and my appointment started promptly. I was given the option to pay an extra $40 (not covered by Medicaid) to skip eye dilation and use some imaging system which I kindly declined. Doctor checked out my eyes and confirmed I had 20/20 vision. There was just a small amount of astigmatism that If I needed glasses it would really make no difference. Great to hear and I was happy walking out to pay my $2 copay until I was given a $47 bill. The additional $45 was for a "Refraction" test which basically means they decided to find out if I needed glasses despite knowing I had 20/20 vision. They knew this test wasn't covered by Medicaid/Medicare and at no time from the beginning to the end of my appointment was this mentioned to me nor was I given a choice to decline this unnecessary test. Simply put they were looking at making some money any way possible and what better way to do it than after they perform the test and I'm walking out the door. At that point they can charge whatever they want and there's no option for me to decline. Moral of the story don't trust these people. They may be nice but to them you are just profit. If you are on Medicaid/Medicare you probably don't have a lot of money so get used to asking these people to the point where it might be annoying exactly how much this will cost or if this is covered under your plan. Don't let their professionalism and kindness fool you any more than a used car salesman in a lot. It would also not hurt to remind them often you will not pay more than what is specified under your health plan. Hopefully someday these people will be accountable for their shady business practices. Until then stay sharp.
