Dr Rothstein has been treating my glaucoma for 8 years plus. He is very knowledgeable, thoughtful and compassionate. I had Express shunts done several years ago and recently had cataract surgery and lenses. Actually done 2 days ago and I am seeing better then ever! He has given me back my quality of life and vision! I would highly recommend him! The staff at both ECCONC and their new surgery center are awesome as well!

From out of town and had to make an emergency visit to the eye center. Was very impressed with being able to get in immediately. Dr. Manry was very thorough and explained the issue with my eye. The optical department is within the center and while they may not have the exact frame you want, they order anything you need before you buy so you can try it on. I had PRK done 5 years ago at this clinic and came back for an enhancement. All of the staff and doctors are great. They answered all my questions and concerns. Dr Verner performed the enhancement. She explained step by step during the surgery and made sure I was okay. She called me that night to check up on me and made sure I was okay. Just got home from this place. I arrived at 1:10 for my 1:30 appointment. At 1:50 I go to the desk to see what is going on. They inform me that they are running behind. No body said ANYTHING about running late when I checked in. THEN the receptionist tells me I should be out of there by 4pm.. WHAT !>!>! "Well yes, your appointment will last 1 1/2 hours for your " informational CLASS" . Nobody told me anything about a "class". I don't need a class I need to know the doctors credentials, how many times she has done this surgery and what her success rate is. I was then told well you should have been told about this when you made your appointment. I WAS NOT TOLD any of this, plus the girl making the reservation spoke barely above a whisper ( most people looking for cataract surgery are above 60 years of age and mo st likely have age related hearing loss) and she had a very thick accent. Had I been advised of the 1 1/2 hour appointment I would have made an appointment for an early morning visit. So n ow I am back at square on looking for an eye surgeon to take care of my cataracts.

The Center has several experienced doctors with different expertise. Be prepared to wait to see some of the doctors, but it's worth the wait. The doctors that I've seen are knowledgeable and have solutions to my eye issues, where other offices in the past have not. I would recommend the Eye Care Center.

My only complaint would be the length of waiting time , but I just always tell myself they are being really thorough with other patients or have an emergency, and I usually find someone nice to talk to. I have had to be treated by other doctors there also for particular problems and would recommend any of them with no hesitation.

Was a bit disappointed. I made an effort to have my records from my former ophthalmologist sent ahead of me, the doctor didn't behave like she had read through any of them. I realize the docs are busy, but there was plenty of time between when my appt was and when the records were sent to have at least reviewed, since I have an extensive history. Then, after my examination, she announced that they weren't qualified to look at my retina. That I need to go to a retinal specialist in order to get a true picture of my eyes. The ophthalmologist I went to for years, who treated my vetrial tear, my lattice degeneration, and the subsequent examinations, without another appt to see a specialist. And while examining my eyes, she talked to the medical assistant, in words that were unrecognizable to me. Then didn't explain any of her findings to me in common terms. She just said I needed to see a specialist. I will probably make a point to go to my old doctor when I can make it back. And I certainly wouldn't have cataract surgery through this practice!

If translation is needed they have to call someone from another department to “translate” making their job harder. It would be nice to see more bilingual medical assistants/ specialists to accommodate those who speak Spanish. Longmont has a high Spanish speaking population & it is necessary to have more Spanish speakers available.

The wait lately to get in to see the Doctor has been very long. Had a 10:30am appointment and then didn't get seen till after 12:30pm and didn't actually leave till 1:30. Three hours for a simple follow up is kinda ridiculous. Other than that the staff is very kind and consistently apologizing for the wait and I really enjoy Dr. Verner. She is always smiling and very pleasant and extremely competent doctor probably the only reason I'll sit and wait 2 hours to see her.

Been coming here for years. Great doctors but be prepared to wait extended periods of time with no communication, explanation or apology. I routinely wait 45 minutes to an hour to be seen by doctor for 3 minutes. Even compared to other specialists, the wait time here is the worst. Again, fantastic doctors and I will continue to return. However, scheduling is next level bad and they don't seem to care at all.

Scheduled for simple follow-up exam that ended up 2 hours long. Not the first time. Eye Care Center gets you reasonably quickly from the main waiting room into the stations for diagnostic measurements by tech staff. At the dilation step, you go to a different internal waiting area. This is where the problems start. During dilation, the tech is busy and may leave you there for longer than needed. Then has to wait in line to get back to the original machine to finish the diagnostics - it has to be that machine even if there are other identical ones sitting around unused. Then back to the internal waiting area, which is now crowded with people both in dilation stages and waiting to see the doctors. Several new people may be in front of you who started later but were randomly lucky at getting through the diagnostics. A follow up with no complications may only take 5-10 minutes, but I've ended up in internal waiting area queues with 6-8 more people in front of me. More time. Suggestions: Get rid of the internal waiting area, make diagnostic equipment more flexible for quicker use, return patients to exam rooms where they don't get lost in the crowd. Feels like an overbooked flight every time I'm there.

To start my doctor is the greatest I have ever seen. I have been with this doctor for ten years. She is friendly, smart and informative. But, the center its self is a horrible. The time to get to your actual appointments are to long and require you to move constantly. Details: the center its self is a pain. you have to wait to check in (10 minutes). Then you wait in the waiting room (10 minutes). Then you get a pre-doctor eye exam (5 minutes.) Then you get yours eyes checked after being dilated. then you move to another waiting area (5-10 Minute wait) then you finally see your actual doctor. Once i remove my contacts (which you remove at the pre-doctor exam) I can not see and it gives me a headache to look around with blurred vision.

Scheduled for simple follow-up exam that ended up 2 hours long. Not the first time. Eye Care Center gets you reasonably quickly from the main waiting room into the stations for diagnostic measurements by tech staff. At the dilation step, you go to a different internal waiting area. This is where the problems start. During dilation, the tech is busy and may leave you there for longer than needed. Then has to wait in line to get back to the original machine to finish the diagnostics - it has to be that machine even if there are other identical ones sitting around unused. Then back to the internal waiting area, which is now crowded with people both in dilation stages and waiting to see the doctors. Several new people may be in front of you who started later but were randomly lucky at getting through the diagnostics. A follow up with no complications may only take 5-10 minutes, but I've ended up in internal waiting area queues with 6-8 more people in front of me. More time. Suggestions: Get rid of the internal waiting area, make diagnostic equipment more flexible for quicker use, return patients to exam rooms where they don't get lost in the crowd. Feels like an overbooked flight every time I'm there.

The pre testing for cataracts was impressive. My options of having mono vision done was a go! There was a month wait for me to get in for the first appointment for the exam, viewing the required video and consulting with the surgeon. I made my appointment right after my optometrist recommended cataracts needed removing. I next went to scheduling and was told first surgical opening was a month & a half out! I was very disappointed as I had been told the month before that once doing the tests & seeing surgeon I’d be in, in a couple of weeks not 6 weeks later. This would make 3+ months from calling to first eye actually operated on. Spoke with doctor when scheduler said no alternatives, no chance of anything sooner. Wonderfully doctor did something and I have both eyes scheduled for the 2nd & 4th week! I have had first eye operated on and it feels great! Great team at onsite surgical clinic and Dr. Sheth is a perfectionist! Exactly what you want in an eye surgeon!

I had a bad eye infection. After a very long wait, I saw the doctor and he prescribed an eye ointment. He said to call if my eye got worse. The next day, it was so much worse. I called first thing in the morning, and then at lunch time. No response. TWO DAYS LATER I got a call. The doctor’s assistant said it hadn’t sounded like an emergency to her. She was very casual. I asked to have an oral antibiotic prescribed. She said I would have to come in again (another charge and 2 1/2 hours away from work). I declined in disgust and will NEVER go back there.

(each wait 10 min and the last one she sent me away to wait more so she could help someone that had just come in behind me, unbelievable!) I have been to Lafayette and their office staff, including the front desk are very personable and have no problems with our insurance so wondering why Longmont is sooo different?

Eye Care Center is a highly professional and capable organization. Their staff is stable, which is of interest to me -- I like that when I go back for my recurrent annual exam, I find the same ophthalmologists going retina to retina with me. (You do understand, don't you, that that's what's happening when an eye surgeon looks into your eye? Your retinas are imaged one onto the other?) I appreciate that there's no pressure to use their optician shop to implement your prescription as glasses, although that shop is also capable and well run. As an engineer (I work in a different optical field than ophthalmology, but there's an appreciable amount of overlap), I also appreciate that the professionals will indulge me with technical explanations of what's going on, both medically and optically. I've been using this group for years and will continue to do so. --------------------- Not until after writing that review did I read other reviews of Eye Care Center, preferring to write my own thoughts uninfluenced by others. Negative comments have been with respect to front-office staff, not with the medical competence of the MDs and optometrists and opticians. True, a business should present a good face to the public. However, to begin with, I have always been given impeccable service by front-office staff. And further, in the end it is the medical staff who determine the real quality of care, not the (usually) woman checking you into your appointment.

It certainly could be that there was simply nothing to help me, or nothing that I could do to help myself, but it would be nice to have more information. Overall, felt rushed, no time for questions and answers. Left with more questions than when I came in.

My experience was top-notch! Each step of the process was explained to me and Wanda the prep nurse warned me about what I might feel when the eye drops went in and the IV. She was willing to answer any question and was very reassuring. She explained that both doctors would speak to me before the procedure so I knew exactly what to expect. Dr. Pavlik, my anesthesia provider was upbeat, knowledgeable and patient in answering my questions. Dr. Rothstein is a gem.
