Everyone on staff always tried to answer my questions and meet my needs. Scheduling was easy and done on first visit. Just be prepared for a couple of lengthy (hour to hour and a half) visits Pre Op and then the one-month post-op. I really feel that I have a new lease on life. I've had slow growth cataracts for 20 or so years, and finally it was like looking through Saran Wrap....couldn't see the golf ball laying in the fairway 30 yards away from me. Dr. Matt Kruger checked them out - offered some options, and I went with the extended focal range lens he offers. One eye on a Wednesday, the next eye the following week, and just two weeks into this, vision is 20/20 distance and 20/25 close. Dr. Kruger is the consummate professional - a real nit-picker around the surgery center. Just the kind of guy I like and want. Staff is professional and courteous - I could not recommend him more highly.

Credit where credit is due, I have been contacted by this business multiple times (they even asked for me to update my review) to make things right, which I appreciate. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I have no idea how this place has so many great reviews. I have been incorrectly billed multiple times, the front staff is rude, the email on their website doesn't work and the phone line has been busy multiple times when i've tried to call. The last time I bought contacts from them they tried to bill me for the full purchase without even checking to see if my insurance covered it (which it did) - sketchy. The only reason I continued to go here is their location, which is convenient - but even thats not worth it now. Terrible experience - go somewhere else.

I just completed my second cataract surgery with Matthew Kruger MD. To say that surgery is a pleasant experience seems like a paradox; however, I really did have an extraordinary experience. As a nurse practitioner, I am particular about who provides my health care and the type provided. Dr. Kruger was very professional but not aloft. He was thorough in his presentation of the assessment; treatment options; risks, benefits and side effects of treatment options. I did not want to have anesthesia and wished to have the procedure under local anesthetic. The surgical center near his office refused. Dr. Kruger then willing became an advocate for me and found a surgical center where I could have the type of treatment that I preferred. He was available and even called me the first evening to see how I was doing. When I suggested that I have both eyes done at the same time, he told me of the risk of that thus resulting in my being able to make a more informed decision. After completing the surgery, I see that he was correct and the second lens was adjusted to help by close up vision. I have no need for glasses now but I may need a face lift to look like the 20 year old eyes that I now have. Without any reservation, I would recommend Dr. Kruger. He is an upcoming ophthalmologist who bodes well for our future health care. Thank you much

I can't speak more highly Dr. Frankel or the experience as a whole. The whole process was smooth and easy and the best decision of my life. Before getting LASIK, I couldn't go anywhere without my glasses or contacts, but after the surgery it was like the world has been turned into HD. The recovery time took me about a day or so and after that I have yet to run into any issues. Do yourself a favor, drop whatever you're doing and get this surgery now, it will change your life.

Best Doc ever! The Vail Medical Center Emergency Room referred me to Denver Opthalmologist Dr. Matthew Kruger when a corneal ulcer developed in my eye. If left untreated this infection would surely have caused loss of the eye. What a stroke of good fortune in an otherwise dire situation. I was on vacation and here were no ophthalmologists in the Vail Valley. Dr. Kruger met me at his Denver office on Sunday night, diagnosed the problem and had a prescription formulary custom made for me at Rose Hospital. He followed up with me by phone, text, e-mail and in person several times before I returned to home to Virginia ten days later. It was well worth six trips from Vail to Denver (250 miles round trip) to be treated by such an excellent doctor. Dr. Kruger is professional, friendly, accessible and most importantly an outstanding and extremely well qualified ophthalmologist. He is without doubt the best doctor I have ever seen. Thank you Dr. Kruger, you saved my eye.

I went to see Dr Frankel for corrective eye surgery. I was not eligible for Lasik, so had to get PRK. While the PRK recovery is rough, my experience with Dr Frankel was great. I was able to schedule the surgery near a weekend, so I missed less work, and all my follow-up appointments were efficient and easy. Once my eyes finally "settled" in, my vision was better than 20/20. Bonus: the procedure was more reasonably priced than some of the other places I considered. I got my surgery in 2013, and my vision is still great. If you are considering Lasik or PRK, go see him.

Dr. Kruger performed cataract surgery on both eyes two years ago. He used multi-focal lenses and adjusted them so that I can read books, work on the computer and see distance perfectly. He gave me references of others he had given multi-focal lenses, so that I could decide whether I wanted them. The others were pleased, so I went ahead. Dr. Kruger was so easy to communicate with during this process. He even repeated testing my eyes to make sure he got the correct measurements before surgery. I couldn't be more pleased with Dr Kruger and his staff throughout the whole process! I contacted him 2 years later, after moving to another state, asking for a recommendation for an ophthalmologists in my new home. Dr Kruger promptly responded with several names of ophthalmologists in my area!

I had a great experience working with Dr. Kruger. I am 64 years old and had an episode where I had a lost vision in the bottom of my right eye for a day. It returned to normal. At my appointment I told him about this. He said the current protocol was to go to the ER as soon as something like this happens for an MRI to make sure you are not having a stroke. He immediately called in an order for a MRI and CT Scan. I got to Rose and they were waiting for me. I had the MRI and CT Scan and luckily I was OK. He followed up with a phone call to me later as well. He went out of his way to stress the importance that I follow the protocol. I recommend him.

I am 78 tomorrow. I had my 1 week post op check today with Dr. Matthew Kruger and I am thrilled with the results of both surgeries to remove my cataracts and to implant multifocal lenses. These also corrected an astigmatism in each eye. I can now see crystal clearly at a distance and read quite well in most situations. This has virtually freed me from glasses as only the smallest print needs magnification (1.5x). That of course is the best part of the story but my entire experience was wonderful with the very professional but still comfortably friendly atmosphere at "Associates in Eyecare, P.C. I needed a new optometrist/ophthalmologist after my last one was just not communicative and I ended up skipping a year because of life and just forgetting. Associates in Eyecare was able to see me basically as soon as I called, but I scheduled for a couple weeks out. Checking in was easy, detailed, and comprehensive, and the front desk staff were kind and knowledgeable about my insurance benefits. The optician was fantastic and took her time with me, but was able to identify some things quite quickly--she even found that I had an astigmatism in my right eye that no other doctor has told me about, and she got me a 5 day supply of sample lenses to try out, and now I finally have 20/20 in that eye! The ophthalmologist I saw, Dr. Matt Kruger, is board-certified and gave me all of the information I needed, and took his time with me, as well. Afterwards, the front staff was able to give me information on a place they work with who can replace the lenses in my glasses for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend them, and I'm happy I found this office!

I was nervous during the consultation and he reassured me about the number of successful procedures he’s done and the number of years he’s been doing it. I had cataract surgery on both eyes with a lens implant in each eye. Since I had worn contact lenses for 20 years with mono vision correction, I chose to have mono vision with the lens implant. I had surgery on my left eye with a lens implant for close in vision. The surgical procedure was uneventful. The day after surgery, I read the entire newspaper with unbelievable clarity. No more glasses!!! I resumed all of my normal activities. Six weeks later, I had cataract surgery on my right eye with a lens implant for distance vision and correction of my astigmatism. Again the surgery was uneventful. The day after surgery, I could watch TV and clearly read the information trailers running at the bottom of the screen, as well as other small print on a TV that is mounted on a bedroom wall. Additionally, my night vision has improved significantly. No more rings around the lights. The day after surgery I again resumed normal activities. I attribute the success of my surgery to the expertise and skill of Dr. Matthew Kruger. Thanks to him, I now have perfect vision without glasses or contact lenses. I have a lot of confidence in Dr. Kruger and highly recommend him for any type of vision problems that require surgery.

Paid out of pocket (as Medicare wouldn't cover) but still found the price worth every dollar. Based upon my lifestyle and goals, Dr. Kruger recommended the latest IOL from Technis, called Symfony.
