This clinic is great! My 15 year old daughter had an emergency and had a contact stuck in her right eye. Dr. Pasquali was so kind and so patient with her. He tried for at least 60 minutes to help her get it out and she was in so much pain she wouldn't allow him to get it. He spoke so nicely to her in order to keep her calm which I truly appreciated. In the end she had to be sedated in order to get it removed and the surgical staff was just as amazing. They all spoke to her very sweetly as she was scared to death. They talked her though the IV and made her feel extremely comfortable in a very stressful situation. I highly recommend this clinic and appreciate their kindness in a very scary situation for my daughter.

Dr. Hartman worked a miracle on my left eye. Due to cancer treatment I had become legally blind in that eye. My lens was sticking to my cornea. Not an easy surgery and I'm a super tentorial patient, which means not a calm patient. Dr. Carl assured me he could handle it and he did, superbly. All members of the staff were so sweet and kind to me. Very grateful for the experience.

A truly first time amazing experience . I was concerned because the office looked big and there were eight ophthalmologist there +3 optometrist . I was also nervous about having the cataracts in my eyes looked at . The front desk was warm and welcoming and sweet and made me feel so comfortable . After a short 10 minute wait for my appointment time I got called into a room . Tim the ophthalmologist technician made me feel so comfortable he performed all the tests that needed to be done spent plenty of time chatting with me reassuring me that everything was good so far . Then Dr. Ling came in and continued with my eye exam looked at my cataracts and told me at this point they were mild to moderate I’d be able to pass my eye exam for my drivers license and not to worry until I had some symptoms and that he’d see me next year . He also was kind and informative and took the time to make me feel comfortable . I’ll be back thank you

The high degree of education and certification of the doctors and assistants was impressive. The large number of styles of glasses gave me a good set of choices of a pair for myself. Dr. Carl Hartman gave me a wonderful gift on March 25, 2014. It was the gift of clear vision by performing an amazing 12-minute cataract surgery. After the surgery I went out to dinner with my husband! Besides his skill, one of the reasons it was amazing is because he gave me "mono vision" so I do not have to use reading glasses anymore! Now I can clearly see when reading books, computers, menus, art work, sculpting, and looking at labels for the best products! And I am writing this review the day after surgery! He said it will get better over the next three weeks. Not only that but I wish I had learned about him two years ago and had him correct my left eye cataract because I know I would have had better results. He is skilled, professional, and enjoyable. Two weeks before my right eye surgery he performed a laser treatment in my left eye. Now I can see so clearly that I sincerely feel like it's a miracle. I should mention that while waiting for my surgery the people next to me came all the way from San Joaquin Valley (300 miles away) to have Dr. Carl Hartman do their surgery. Impressive!

Dr. Carl Hartman did my cataract surgery in July 2013. I had a bad experience with a different Dr., not in this Group, when I had cataract surgery done and I had let my left eye untreated until I could no longer be fit for glasses because of the cataract in my left eye. My Optometrist refereed me to Dr. Hartman. My surgery went very well, no problems like I had before, and Dr. Hartman did such a good job matching the implant to my right eye I no longer have to wear glasses. I would refer anyone I knew to Dr. Hartman. I returned in February 2015 because I was having discomfort in my eyes and thought it was eye strain. Dr. Hartman examined my eyes and diagnosed Conjunctivitis and gave me a prescription and other recommendations to cure it. Again satisfied.

Dr. Carl Hartman is a miracle worker.One month ago he implanted a lense in my left eye (cataract surgery),changed my distance vision from very poor to an outstanding 20/25,almost a perfect 20/20,beyond my wildest expectations; i had been very nearsighted all my life;imagine my unending elation for being glasses or contact lenses-free at this advanced stage of my life. He also worked around scars on my cornea that intensive RK had produced almost 30 years ago; and also,decided against using a more expensive type of lense (for which i would have paid myself),the results proving him absolutely right.I had suspected that the results were going to very good,given the massive pre-surgery preparations that i went trough.My eternal gratitude to you,Dr. Carl, and to everybody in your beautiful staff. I had a peel with Dr. Clay. I went for a peel at SoCal Eye because I was so impressed with my experience with Dr. Hartman for cataract surgery. I did not sign up for a second peel with Dr. Clay because that experience was the total opposite. She did not even look closely at my skin and ask about several areas. She did not ask what GTA Forte was for (medication). She did not suggest anything for the dryness during the peel. She was very unconcerned about ME. She did not counsel me about the best plan for my face. Very lackadaisical attitude. She did not appear to know about Sun Precautions sun care. Also, I asked for a 3:00 app. and it was switched to 11:45. Not the best time for a peel. They did give me a $50 discount when I complained about being switched.

I've been a patient at Lakewood Eye Physicians since 1990. From my 1st visit to my appointment last week, I've been treated like I'm truly special. Dr Ronald Hartman is my physician, he's super nice, very knowledgeable & funny. He's been treating my glaucoma since 1990 & told me I'm making him work too hard, with contagious laughter, because it's taken many combination of medications to keep my eye pressure at bay. The staff is so nice. They go the extra mile to make sure everything is understood & I don't usually wait very long in the examination room, which I so appreciate. If you don't have an eye doctor, I strongly recommend Lakewood Eye Physicians, newly named Southern California Eye Physicians & Associates. I love these people!

Recently, I underwent two cataract surgeries, one on each eye, at SoCal Eye Lakewood. Before the first surgery I was beyond scared. The nurses, the Anesthesiologist, and Dr. Emma Clay all helped to alleviate my fears. They were all professional, skilled, kind - a great team. I was referred to SoCal Eye by my Optometrist. I needed cataract surgery in both eyes. All the procedures at Los Alamitos went smoothly, including the pre- and post-op appointments. The technicians are skilled and each one took time to answer my many questions. Dr Emma Clay, my surgeon, as well as Dr Bovy who examined my eyes the day after each surgery were superb. I felt comfortable and confident that I was in expert care. The outcome of the surgeries was much better than I could have hoped. The implants I have are the Symphony multi-focal, astigmatism-correcting lens in both eyes. I went from seeing blurry, dim, grayed-out objects and surroundings to clear, bright, colors, and distinct objects and people. My first reaction when driving at night (something I no longer did because I could not see the road lane markers anymore) was, "Who turned on the lights?"!!! I am 63 years and have been wearing glasses since I was only 8. Now I get along very well without glasses; even for reading. My husband thinks it is especially funny when, soon after the first surgery, I looked in my dresser and said, "I didn't know I had purple underwear!" Colors are more vibrant, and I now see things that before surgery were simply not there. SoCal Eye, Los Alamitos is an excellent, up-to-date facility. Dr. Emma Clay is exceptionally skilled and personable. Dr. Bovy is excellent and personable. Both Drs took as much time as needed to answer both my questions and my husbands; and we had many. Two thumbs up!!

When ever I visited SoCal Eye clinic in Los Alamitos CA, I had a pleasant experience. I always reach 15 to 20 minutes before my appointment time and I get called in before or on my appointment time. The staff is very efficient and helpful. I find Dr Nhu to be very knowledgeable and experienced. I have already recommended patients and will have no problem doing so again.

I saw Dr. T. Pasquali regarding a second cataract removal and couldn't have been happier with his professionalism, skill and efficiency. This experience was the complete opposite of what I experienced with the first surgery in another office. Not only is it obvious Dr. Pasquali is interested in providing great service to his patients, he is part of an office staff that is also professional, caring and efficient. The length of time in the both the waiting room and doctor's office is very acceptable. I would highly recommend Dr. Pasquali and the Los Alamitos office, which is the only SoCalEye office I've been involved with. Thank you for being out there.

I just recently had cataract surgery performed by Dr. Carl Hartman. I was and am still amazed how much better my vision is now. There was no pain or even discomfort. Colors are much more vivid now. Very inefficient office. They have you check in to one office, provide all info every time, wait, then move you over to another lobby, wait, screen you, ask the same questions every time, then move you over to the other side to wait for the doctor. What should be a 15 minute visit take 2 hours. Sad. Staff other then lobby people are very nice and qualified.

This past Friday, Good Friday, I arrived at SoCal Eye first thing (10 minutes before they opened) because of some strange floaters in my right eye. Giselle, the receptionist, was so sweet, welcoming and so helpful. Even though I didn't have an appointment she was able to get me in to the exam room by 9 a.m. That seems to be a miracle to me. The assistant that helped me and did a comprehensive preliminary exam was totally terrific, very personable with a good sense of humor. Made me feel very comfortable as I was concerned about my eye. They made me feel that it was the right thing to do to go to them with the eye troubles that I was having. I was the emergency patient of the morning. Dr. Nhu was totally terrific. She examined my eye and told me directly what was going on with my right eye. She pretty much made me feel that coming to see them was the right thing to do. My husband walked to the office (we live about a mile away) so that he could drive me home and they welcomed him into the exam room which I very much appreciated as he has a better memory of the doctor's diagnosis than I do. I plan to only go to them for my eye exams in the future. What a relief to have such a positive experience especially on the Good Friday holiday.

I couldnt beleive that when i sat up from my lasik/prk i could read the clock on the wall and at home seeing stars at night with my own eyes so quickly after surgery i was so happy. My daughter and I had eye surgeries on the same days with Dr. Clay being our surgeon. I had cataract surgery with a previous vision of a -14 and my daughter had lens replacement as her vision was a -18, very extremely myopic! Dr. Clay refers to us as the "infamous mother/daughter team". She is very proud that our surgeries went so smoothly and so well, and we are too. She did a fabulous job on our eyes and we are both ecstatic. We no longer have to take our rigid contacts out of our tired eyes at night and can SEE when we open our eyes in the morning!! Fabulous! Dr. Clay and her staff, in Los Alamitos and Lakewood surgery center, were wonderful, kind, helpful, and very professional. When I had some concerns shortly after my one eye surgery, Dr. Hartman saw me and checked my eye and eased my concerns. I now continue to see Dr. Clay for my glaucoma issues and her and her staff are just wonderful. Thank you, Dr. Clay and staff!

Although I thought the frames were toast, she was able to effect an excellent repair, plus adjust another 5 pair of glasses for me. My Husband Ernie Was a truck driver for 51 years and his eyes developed cataracts over the last 15 or more of those years. He used glasses to read and some distance but his problem was the cataracts. Finally Ernie retired and the cataracts became a bigger issue. He couldn’t read the NASCAR stats on the TV and he couldn’t see clearly at night because the lights were blinding, so he went to SoCalEye, they did his procedure on the first eye, and he was amazed at how clear the world looked! He couldn’t wait for the second surgery and now he says he see things in full bright color and he knows the meaning of High Definition!
