I visited Stanton Optical 2 yrs ago. As far as eye exam and customer service was excellent, however, I have had issues with the lens. I had to come back within first year because of the protective film was spotting and peeling off. I have been wearing glasses since 8 years old. I am now having the same issue and i paid over $500 for 2 pair also the frames are peeling off. I love the frames very comfortable and stylish but not happy with the overall issues with the lense and frames. I will be contacting the store to see if something can been done.

Joseph at the Little Rock location was the best. They were busy but they were still engaging with customers while we waited. I had an eye emergency and ended finding out I had 2 ulcers starting to form and one was starting to make a hole! But before I found that out I didn’t know why my eye was swollen and extremely red! I called a little bit before I had to go to work and use my eyes and be around customers! I told Vanessa who was the sweetest that I needed to be seen soon and I had to go to work! She said even though they were booked up, if I could come right then she would get me to a dr! She was the sweetest the whole time! So was Dr Echols! She thoroughly checked everything and fast! I was scared to hear what was going on with my eye but she said the drops should help and she wanted to see me in a week. I’m so glad to get such kind and quick help! Also, in the frame shop, Brian meet me with the same compassion and expertise and got me set up with wonderful frames. He took the time to help and explain the process and made sure I was taken care of. I felt appreciated as a customer. I cannot wait for my follow up visit to say hello to the staff! I’ll definitely be bringing my business here and letting others know! Thank you!

Dr. was very professional, appointment was at 12:15, but got in an hour later. By the time my husband and I walked out it was about 3:00. We were pressured to buy glasses to the point we just had to walk away. I ordered contacts at a later date. Did I forget to say the appointment was the last weekend of May. Today, June 24th, I call about my contacts. I am told they called one time on the 13th of June, but couldn't leave a voice mail. Now this is uncalled for. If the person mails the contacts today, I might receive them by Friday. That is poor service! Will not return.

worst quality Ive ever seen in an eyeglass company!! Bought two pair on their "special deal"....neither of them lasted a year. AR coating went bad REAL quick, then it was every imaginable problem after that. Was no better as far as durability even after they made new ones. Stay Away!

Will not do business with again. Have not delivered on a single promise. Supposed to have glasses in one week. So they respond with an email like they are going to help. Emailed them, no response. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks and no glasses! UPDATE: After 2 weeks, I get a call, saying one pair of my glasses are ready. Drive to store, no glasses. Told they will not be in until Monday. The message clearly said, one pair ready for pick, up. Don't do business with this store. I am a tractor trailer driver. I really needed to have my glasses. I could have gotten them sooner elsewhere. UPDATE 2: Really needing glasses, I went to Eyemart Express. My glasses were done in less than 1 hour! This means that the fast talking saleman, deprived me of glass for 2 weeks!

Online they say they take our insurance. We talked to them on the phone and asked them if they took our insurance. They said yes they did take our insurance. After they did the eye exam and got his glasses is when they informed him they did not take our insurance. We are on fixed income. This was so wrong. I'm calling and complaining to Better Busness, and the Health Services. And anyone else who will listen. If you didn't take our insurance you need to take it off of your list and don't tell people you do

My husband and I paid $90 after the eye exam, frames ($29, $19, $19 and $29), and still we paid $278 for the glasses and had to wait 7-10 working day for them to get back. The doctor was great and the staff was great just not what it said the price was.

This place is so awesome! I called and got an appointment the same day! The eye doctor for 10/12 was amazing. The girl and guy at the front that evening were so kind and very good at multi tasking. She even told me to think positive because we don’t know what will happen...it had been 7 years since my last eye exam so you can imagine how I was feeling (only need glasses for the computer and my eyesight is fine). There were two women working where you go pick your glasses, one was amber and I can’t think of the other lady’s name but they were phenomenal. There were so many people, but they helped every single one! They were fast, and they were having to work with more than one client at a time, but if anyone can do it they can! They are genuine people, and they made my experience very memeorable. They do need extra help, and if that could be provided I know that would help them a lot, but none of them break under pressure! Their attitudes were inviting and never changed the whole time! Everyone was greeted with a smile and left with them still smiling from the ladies in the back and the girl and guy working the front desk. I even got both pairs of glasses the same day, and once I picked the ones I wanted it took less than 30 minutes for them to be ready. This is a wonderful place and I will continue to come here! Long waiting times... False adverts( 2 pair and eye exam for under $100)... But those with insurance get charged ridiculous prices. Lenses never in stock so be prepared to return for your eyewear. Definitely not a place to consider if you don't live in close proximity to LR.

I purchased glasses here a few months ago and the experience was fine. They were even ready before the date I’d been given which was wonderful. The issues came several months later. The lens kept popping out of one pair (I’d purchased a 2 pair deal). I’d not dropped them or anything so this came as a surprise. Since I’m extremely busy like most people I just popped the lens back in UNTIL the frame broke. My only choice was to take them back to Stanton and since I’d purchased the warranty I didn’t anticipate any problems. I dropped them off on 10/12/18 and was told they’d be repaired and I’d receive a call within no more than 10 days telling me when to pick them up. That call never came at the start of November, I called them and spoke with Kendrick, the manager. Based on his questions I could tell he had no clue what was going on. He asked if I still had the frame (I’d left the entire pair of glasses when I dropped them off). He also had no clue about where the glasses were or the status of the repair but assured me he would find out and call me back quickly. Fast forward to the week after Thanksgiving and I realize he never called me back so once again I called him. To my surprise and disappointment he asked me the same questions. Did I have the frame? Etc. The longer I spoke with him the more upset I became. It’s been nearly two months and all he can say is he’ll “try” to expedite the repair. What the heck???? How about taking responsibility for a major screw up and assuring me I’d have my glasses back by Wed which is 5 days from now. If you purchase glasses here, (1) know that the quality is not the best but it’s a trade off for the low price and (2) don’t even think about not getting the warranty (3) lower your expectations where service is concerned.

Consistently awful - the old adage 'fool me once, shame on you. fool me twice shame on me.' is probably apt here. I've purchased several pair of prescription sunglasses, lenses for regular glasses and my wife's purchased two pairs as well. From the sound of that, one would naturally conclude that I should be pleased. Let's just say that I chose price over both performance and customer service. Both pair of sunglasses are falling apart and this is probably due to the 'non brand/lesser-known brand' with low price attached so I suppose that's reason enough. Not good but whatever. On the lenses I had on my Oakley frames (purchased elsewhere as they don't carry them at Stanton) after about 5 months, the anti-reflective coating started to erode on both lenses. After another few months, it was so bad I took them back and was told I needed to have them recoated. Unfortunately, I had to pay for that and was told they'd be ready later in the day. After two different calls and around 5 hours all in, it turned out they weren't ready. I was told they'd be ready the following week and drove in on the day given only to be informed (after driving half hour) that they weren't ready. I ended up having to get the ones that weren't anti-scratch as I was told it would take much longer. When I ended up complaining about this to the manager, he told me that they would make me a pair with anti-scratch and anti glare for no extra charge. That part was good. However, I called last week to ask about them and the young lady who looked up my records told me 'yes, they are here' and when I went in a week later, was told that they were not there and probably sent back because they sat there too long. Granted it was months later on my end but I made yet another half hour trip to get them and yet again, no joy. Lessons learned: a) don't go low price when it comes to glasses and b) after one bad experience, a repeat is your own fault.

Staff is terrible at greeting customers. Black lady (no name tag) who “greeted” me was yelling at me across the floor asking what I needed when I walked in. As I tried to explain, she said she couldn’t here me. I asked if she could come from behind the counter so that she could hear me. She said no. So I, the customer, suggested maybe we should wait until she’s finished with her customer. Ridiculous. In the mean time I was able to get one of the technicians to help me.

They give you false information, they do not call to inform you of when glasses are ready. They you put on hold, then the phone hangs up, but do they call you back, double NO. The first time I ordered glasses and was told 7-10 days, it was almost 20 days in which they blamed it on hurricane Harvey so I gave them the benefit despite my doubt and went back a year later only to have my glasses come in shy of 30 days and was given a number of idiotic excuses. Four months later my frames broke and I was forced to return back to that store, UGH shame on me. I went on January 14, and was told 5-7 days for my frames to return. After no call as of January 28, I called, put on hold, then the phone rung and rolled over to the voicemail saying no call can be accepted at this number. You would think I would've gotten a return call, TRIPLE NO, I had to call back only to be told that the frames were discontinued, my lucky day!!! I then was told that I have to come in to pick out another frame for more glasses. I wonder just how long its going to take to get them?!? Oh, did I mention, I wear progressive lenses......my patients have exalted with this company!

Had to return my glasses because they were not properly done initially. Looked online to get the store hours and days of operation. I live 70 miles away and made a blank trip on Sunday to be greeted by a locked door. Door sign had Closed on Sundays...website as of today has 12-5 on Sundays. This place is a joke. There is no actual doctor there. You see some one on a tv screen. I went in on a Saturday and the computers shutdown. Then they rescheduled me. So I came back on a Monday. After waiting 30 minutes for my prescription they come and tell me I can’t have it. I said why. They said you have dry eyes and must see an actual doctor. WTH is this place anyways. Plus during a test a lady almost put a light in my eyes. I said stop I have seizure disorder. Did you not read my chart? I made them refund my money and left.

I won’t be returning. The only good thing about this place was the Doctor that did my exam. When it was time to pick out glasses none of the specials were offered to me and I paid way too much for lenses (nearly $250), then to wait nearly 2 weeks for glasses is just ridiculous. I called customer service they verified the day I ordered my glasses but haven’t gotten to them yet which was over a week ago. So yea I won’t be returning. The employees were incredibly straight forward and understanding of my situation. Brian Powers, in particular made me getting glasses happen. Edited a previous positive review based on follow up- so the first pair of glasses arrived as promised. The second pair however failed miserably. I was notified by a robocall from an out of state number which I almost didn’t answer thinking it was spam. The glasses that were supposed to shipped to our home 70 miles away were apparently just sitting in the office. I called in and was told they would ship out Monday. Still no glasses on Wednesday. After getting hung up on 2 times, I finally was able to get a tracking number for me to go investigate. Whoever mailed them didn’t put a house number in the address just a street name and city. Wasn’t able to get anyone to correct same day so I signed up for a ups account and paid to have them delivered to my address. Never again will I use them. Absolute lack of professionalism and no communication unless you really keep digging them. No No No. just say no... Old review below. Employees were great. Prices were good. The new prescription has my son with better vision than he’s ever had. A+++

The doctors office there is great. My husband and I were in there and both had eye exams. Very friendly and professional. On the other side of the store was not so pleasant. We looked and looked for frames, and could not find anything that we liked. And the frames felt cheap. We were on our way out the door with our prescriptions, when we were stopped by the manager. She asked why we were leaving, we told her we did not see anything we liked. She then took the prescriptions out of my hand and said that she could make our lenses for $20.00 that day. That's fine and dandy, but we didn't like the frames. And my husband script always gets sent out. She was being very aggressive at trying to make us stay and purchase something that we didn't want. I would not recommend that place for purchase for glasses.

When I first went to purchase my first pair of glasses ever they were very helpful less than 4 months later my sunglasses started to falling apart and about the second time around the guy said well I am going to put it in the computer so if you come back in we will warranty them out well 6 times later I got tried of fooling with them when they fell apart this last time I bent them up thinking maybe this time they will warranty them out well no they once again didn't look in the system nor pur me in as conning in and said we will just straight them out and there you go so needless to say I won't be going back because they don't care about their customers and Wal-Mart sold me a pair of 5 dollar sunglasses that seamen hold a hole lot better and those experiences prescription sunglasses are broke and on the shelf with more than a year left on warranty so you want a good cheap pair that may or may not hold up good place to go I just wish someone told me don't expect much if they don't

Took some Nike frames here to have lenses put in. Was supposed to receive glasses on 6/14...still waiting as of 6/22 and they are giving us the runaround. No one can tell us where the glasses are, and they keep blaming UPS for the delay. Seriously have been saying it's their fault for over a week. Corporate offices are zero help, as they keep sending messages saying the glasses are in, but they are not there. They sent us an empty case one week after we ordered, so we are wondering if our Nike frames have been lost. We have returned to the store 4 times and it's the same story each time. Will update this review if the glasses are in tomorrow as promised AGAIN, but for now, avoid this place like a plague. UPDATE 6/23: Still no glasses and once again blamed UPS.

My and my 2 boys went here to get our eye exams for the first time in Jan 2018 , my 16 yr old who has worn glasses all of his life refused to wear glasses said they weren't right sent him back they said glasses were fine, took him to his regular eye doctor and glasses were not right because the prescription was wrong written by eye Dr well I got glasses too for the first time my prescription was wrong as well so I checked youngest son and his prescription is wrong too!!!! I don't know who the people are that gave 5 stars to this place but they may want to go elsewhere and get a new eye exam!!! So approximately $600 WASTED!!!!!

5 stars for the staff of Stanton Optical in Ridgeland. I started with an eye exam, where sweet Tamika broke my insurance down for me to understand my cheapest options. While waiting for the optometrist, I searched for eye wear options where I was assisted by Amber. She helped me pick out several glasses and held them for me upon completion of my eye exam. Once I completed my exam, Kendrick helped finalize my eye wear purchase. He explained the different lens options and which would be best suited for my day to day lifestyle. We just walked out. I set an appointment two days ago via telephone for 9:15 for my daughter to get contact lenses. I received a confirmation voicemail confirmation of 9:15. We got to the store a bit early and when we checked in we were told the appointment time was 9:30. Then they tile me they wouldn't be able to do the appointment until 10:00 due to staffing. When we were finally called forward to pay the desk associate told me they didn't have the know about the promotion and didn't have any of the lenses specific to the promotion we set the appointment for. Three mistakes in one appointment is just too many. I was not willing to entrust my daughter's vision to this disorganized store, so we left and went elsewhere.

Worst experience ever. Went in for exam and picked frames, and paid the last week of June... First week in October, finally got my glasses. No real dr for the exam, was telemedicine and the connection kept cutting out. Never mentioned needing bifocals, mistakenly thought old pair of glasses had progressive bifocals, choice of frames limited to the exact pair on the shelves, if you want a different color frame in the same style, they have to guess at the color number when ordering. Did not order correct frames for Rx sunglasses. Flippant workers wanted to argue with me about where to wear my glasses on my nose, guy that cut lenses told the dude to make the nose feet flatter. I had to raise my voice to say "NO! That's not how I wear my glasses!" Was told that they would remake both sets of glasses as bifocals, but my 2nd set were Rx sunglasses, offered me an extra set of regular bifocals to keep from having to do the work to make Rx bifocal sunglasses - said the extra pair were for my troubles. First pair of bifocals, inset lens are not cut straight so they aren't even. Robo calls when glasses are ready, but better answer your phone, the robo call doesn't leave a message... and then they say they've been trying to call you! Absolutely BS! Save your time! Save your worry! Save your patience! Spend the extra money to go to a REAL eyeglass dr and dispensary. Go someplace else - ANY place else besides Stanton Optical (Ridgeland, MS) !!! Will NEVER go back to any branch of Stanton Optical and will constantly warn others away from them!

Went by Stanton to ask if they could repair frames I purchased from them in March. The nose piece on one side of the frame had come off. They suggested replacing both nose pieces with a style that customers have found to be more comfortable. This was done promptly and at no charge. Well, this place is a rip off. I saw an add for 59.99 for 2 pair of glasses and an eye exam, they tell me the frames for that offer aren’t available to me, and wouldn’t work for me, and show me some other frames to pick out, and I found some, they told me they would help with the costs. I’m a disabled veteran on a limited income. When all was said and done, the 59.99 to get me in the door turned in to $476.00.... I had accidentally left my wallet at home, which I’m glad I did, I had the money to pay that much at that time in cash at home. Do not fall for this bait and switch. I’m glad I didn’t go with them at that time. This was all before the exam, the doctor wasn’t even there, i don’t know how they can provide services without a doctor present. They wanted me to come back the next day. I talked to some friends and family and they told me that the cost was way too much.

Stay as far away from this business as possible! They were happy to take my $533 but the prescription was wrong and I still do not have two sets of glasses I ordered 8 months later. I contacted them countless times by physical visits, phone calls and sent certified letters to the Jackson store and the national folks (this is a franchise, y'all) Our Attorney General of Mississippi contacted them for resolution and......they refused to respond to any of it. No refund. No glasses. Just a major scam. This is happening in other Stanton Optical stores as well - they are being sued by AGs for: customers waited months to receive their glasses after paying for them; received glasses with incorrect prescriptions; or did not receive refunds they were owed. Find a real optometrist. Don't get burned by Stanton Optical.

General manager was fantastic. The other woman not so much. She was handing me glasses left and right after i told her what i style i liked/didn’t like. Rolled her eyes at me and just walked off after i told her i didn’t what she had picked out. After the “package” review for my lenses and such she was getting irritated with me after i told her i didn’t plan on spending that much money. And she said “what you don’t have a budget then what can you spend then? How can you not have an idea.” While smacking her lips and banging on a calculator. At that time the GM walked by up and the other employee proceeded to continue with her attitude that i was having a hard time trying to figure out how i could afford $300. The GM helped me out with some more coupons and made sure i was satisfied. If you think racism doesn’t exist against certain white people you’re wrong. She treated the other customers who were not my race like royalty. I won’t be back, sadly. But major kudos to the GM.
