I’ve been here for an updated eye exam and had a great experience. However, today I ruined my last good contact before leaving town tomorrow! I’m going to be driving and in a wedding, so I did not want to wear my “coke-bottle” glasses. Kelsey and Stephanie at the front desk were amazing!! I did not have enough time to order and receive new contacts...they took my new order and gave me a new pair for my trip! Absolute life savers! Consistent great customer service from this place!!

Dr. Guice is phenomenal and I highly recommend him. He checks everything to do with eyes and eyesight. I have complete confidence in his recommendations and advice. He allows plenty of time during my exam and following to make sure I leave with no questions unanswered!

I really enjoyed going to this doctor. I usually go the one of the large chain stores where they will take a walk-in/make glasses in an hour, but I plan to stick with Dr. Guise/KEC from now in. They fit me in within an hour of calling and my appointment was less expensive than at the chain. I also felt like I was seeing a Dr and not a salesperson. When I called to order my contacts, I assumed I would have to ask if they price-matched, but their contacts were more than competitively priced. I always assumed you had to choose between quality and price, am really glad I found somewhere that can do both.

I went to Kavanaugh eye dr to get a pair of COMPUTER glasses. He examined me, gave me a prescription then sent me out to the girls to pick my frames. When my glasses came in, I could not even read with them. The girls insisted that I take them home for the weekend and wear them. Like that would magically make them work. I brought them back the next week. I explained again that I wanted COMPUTER glasses. The girls told me there is no such thing. Hmmm, wonder how I am writing this now then? So, the dr redid my glasses. When they were ready I picked them up. They were still not right. They were more like everyday glasses but I still couldn't read with them. Then one day the lenses both popped out. I had to take them back in to get them fixed. After that they pretty much just sat in a drawer. So today I get them out just to try them again and while I was cleaning a lens it fell out AGAIN. I emailed one of the girls and said I wanted a refund. She called me back and said because my year ended in June of 2018 I can't be refunded and they will not fix my glasses. So I am just stuck with a pair of glasses that I paid $400 for and never could use. I will make sure that this never happens to any of my friends or family.

This place RULES!!! I know that's clichéd, but I can't think of a more concise superlative for everyone that works there. First, there's the actual optometrist - Dr Brian Guice, who I have been seeing for my eye exams ever since I returned to Little Rock (EVERYONE should get and eye exam EVERY YEAR, whether you wear glasses or not). This annual visit, however, turned out a little different (and shows why you should go every year), as his battery of tests resulted in his immediately getting me to go to an ophthalmologist, where I was diagnosed with advanced glaucoma and cataracts - and I never knew. In the week that it took me to be able to see the ophthalmologist, I had already suffered enough nerve damage in one eye to slightly & permanently blur the lower portion of that eye. I ended up having both glaucoma and cataract surgery, but if Dr Guice had not caught it and acted quickly it would have been much worse. So, I am eternally grateful to him. Now, on to the positive stuff. As a result of all the surgeries, my last prescription (trifocals) were no longer good for much of anything. I have some antique round frames that took me forever to find (online) for my giant watermelon-sized head, and so wanted to keep those (even though their selection of frames runs the gamut from simple to wild). My eyes are also more light-sensitive now, so I opted for getting some Transitions lenses (which have VASTLY improved since they first came out many years ago). The actual "model" of lens I chose, after working extensively with Kelsey (didn't mind that at all) was the Xtractive series they offer. The basic Transitions are normally completely clear, but take some time to change to shade and back. And the one major thing they DON'T do is darken when you're driving a car. The Xtractive Kelsey recommended not only turn darker while inside a car (or facing an open window, etc), or just outside, but they turn SUPER FAST - both ways. I sound like an advert for Transitions (and if they want to pay me, I am happy to accept cash, check, or PayPal). So, needless to say, they got the new prescription exactly right, thanks to Dr Guice's work (I CAN SEE AGAIN!!). And the turnaround time was even faster than they promised (I think Kelsey has connections), so I was able to get them back in time to be able to read, watch TV, and work on a computer before I become a hermit for many weeks as a result of upcoming hip replacement surgery (I am old). And the entire rest of the staff, including Stephanie and Tina (did I mention Kelsey?), are extremely professional and friendly. Glasses are never a minor expense (if you get good ones), and so trusting the people who put them all together for you is vital (unlike going into some mall stores or "big box" optical shops - 2 PAIRS FOR $59!! - that usually suck, and often have salespeople who barely understand how your eyes work, let alone getting you the perfect fit and prescription - most were flipping burgers last week). I could go on and on - wait, I think I already have - but if you live anywhere in Central Arkansas, and are looking for a great optometrist, as well as a wide selection of frames, and staff that know how to fit you just right, you cannot do better than Kavanaugh Eye Care. Thanks guy and gals!

The doctor, and employees are so helpful, and kind. I drive across town just to go to this location. Also a very nice selection of designer frames!

I have been to several eye care providers here in Little Rock and this is by far the best! The office is super nice, they have top-notch technology and service. Their frame selection is also great! I especially appreciate how they were able to fit me in for an appointment with such short notice.

Paul Feller

Dr. Guice, Dana, and staff are the best. You get real care, explanations during the exam, and their eyewear is unlike any I've found in the Little Rock area. Some may think it is a little higher priced, but the customer service and dedication by the staff is well worth the cost to me. This is an optical office for those who want the highest quality in eye exams and customer care.

This is the best eye doctor I've ever been to, hands down. I had been to multiple eye doctors trying to figure out a brand/type of contacts that would work for me as my eyes would not seem to take any. Dr. Guice spent time with me and tried a few types of contacts that he thought would work for my eyes. Sure enough, the second type worked and I've been wearing contacts ever since! If his exceptional knowledge and ability to figure out my contact problem wasn't enough, he went out of his way on social media to find me another eye doctor he thought would do a great job when we moved from Little Rock to Amarillo. This practice is fantastic! 6 stars!

This was my first visit to KEC. The staff greeted me with an upbeat, we can’t wait to help you, attitude. The frame selection was better than I’ve ever seen. Dr Guice didn't rush the exam. He was very detailed and thorough. I couldn’t decide on which frames to buy, so I bought two!

Scott Peeler

I’ve found my new eye doctor! Extremely thorough and took the time to explain cause and effect to home eye care practices that I’ve never known. I incorrectly assumed I’ve heard everything worth knowing about eye care. On my first visit to KEC, I left my contacts and solution with no way to get back before closing and one of the staff delivered it to my house on her way home. It’s hard to find that level of service. Highly recommend them.

Leigh Keener

Dr. Guice and his staff are all wonderful! My astigmatisms makes things a little tricky but he and his staff made sure it was right and I never felt rushed. Thank you for doing what you do so well!

Kat

Dr. Guice and Dana are extremely affable and quickly put their clients at ease. Kavanaugh Eye Care is outfitted with the latest exam equipment and also carries fashionable, though expensive, European eyewear. While I liked their selection of frames, I found them to be a bit expensive. The pair I liked was $900, including lenses but not tax. I ordered the identical frames online for $600, including high index 1.74 lenses and free shipping. Naturally, there's no sales tax for an online purchase. Normally, I wouldn't go through the trouble to save $100-200, but even I won't pay an extra $300-400 for the exact same pair of glasses just because the vendor is local. That said, I will continue to use Kavanaugh Eye Care for my eye care needs.

I had such a great experience with this place. The two girls at the front, Kelsey and Allie, were SO sweet. They both gave me feedback when I was having trouble picking out frames (I had a stack of at least 10 I liked), AND they were super patient with my indecisiveness. Then Dr. Guice took time to answer my questions, and he was very accommodating as well! I will absolutely be coming back here every year to get new frames!!

I'm new to the area and I was in need of local eye care. From the moment I contacted them to set up an appointment I received above and beyond service. They accomadated my schedule so well. Also Dr. Guice was very attentive and helpful when it came to treating my chronic dry eye. Highly recommend!
