Beware of a lack of transparency regarding the FREE consultation. I had the consultation done about a month ago. It is basically a full eye exam where they do everything including dilation. I asked up front why the consult was free. I even asked if there was a catch or something I should know. They assured me no...So a month later...I have decided to get a single contact to try out the mono vision they said I was a candidate for by getting a contact to see how that feels before deciding on the Lasic surgery. I called to get my records, thinking maybe I could use their prescription diagnosis for the contacts or another pair of Warby Parker eyeglasses. My consultation contact said to just come in and fill out a medical release form. I did that and then got a call from the consultation coordinator and one of the doctors who sat in on the call (they obviously guessed I wouldn't be too happy). They told me that she had made a newbie mistake in telling me to come in and fill out the form and that I couldn't get the records of the exam. The Dr. said that at this stage, pre-surgery, they were "consultation" records. Only AFTER surgery (and $2200) were they considered medical records. So if I proceeded with surgery, they'd be happy to release the records. Of course this was all written in the fine print of the paperwork I signed. For the record, I would have gladly paid up front for the exam had I known I wouldn't have had access to it if it was "free". That is what I meant when I asked them UP FRONT was there a catch to the FREE consultation. Now, I may have to get my eyes dilated again, which is pretty uncomfortable and made driving and being outside difficult for 2 days). I understand that they are probably trying to protect themselves from being taken advantage of and people using their exam results for other purposes - that is all fine but they should TELL PEOPLE UP FRONT! BE TRANSPARENT! Say, "You will not have access to the results of this consultation unless you proceed with surgery". It's that simple! Based on this experience, I will not be considering Lasic with Hodges Eye Care.

Terrible customer service. I broke a pair of eye glasses while out of town. I called the office to have a prescription called in to a local eye glass shop. Later that day I stopped by the eye glass shop. They still had not received the prescription. I went to the shop the next afternoon and was shocked that they still had not received the prescription. During my third day sans glasses, I called Hodges, they unfortunately informed me that they still had not sent the prescription, and it was waiting in line to be signed by a doctor. Give me a break, a signature isn't exactly labor intensive, particularly when your so called 'patient' is without eye wear. Perhaps if this occurred on the weekend, I could give them a pass, but this happened in the middle of the week. My initial visit was pleasant, clean, professional. But every subsequent visit I have encountered a new doctor. I think the turnover is fairly high at this place. On top of that they aggressively try and sell Lasik surgery. The lack of urgency or care during my time of need was the icing on the cake, I am now in the market for a new optometrist.

Receptionis said "I can't go to all the insurance web to look for your information," "It's getting late," etc. Consequently, I left. There is nothing I can say about the whole medical service they provide, but my initial experience was enough to decide to take my business to other ophthalmologist.

If there were a million stars, I would not hesitate to employ them. I'm basing my review on the horror shows I experienced at the hands of two other Optomitrists. I will interject ar this point that the thought of having surgery performed on my eyes frightens me to death. This fear was put to rest by the kind, caring professionals who staff Dr.Hodges office. From the beaitiful soul who greeted me and guided me through the paper work. To the profesional staff members who performed the various procedures determining the specific neccesary resolve regarding my broken eyesight. As well, Dr. Hodges equipment far surpasses the previous two eye doctors offices. In our solar system there exist 2 Trillion plus galaxies. Dr. Hodges is that distance plus above and beyond the other Optomitrists practices that I had the mis fortune of dealing with. Thanks Guys and Gals. You Rock. Had an excellent experience at Hodges for LASIK in Feb 2016. Met with Angie for my consult and other pre-procedure appointments, she was professional and personable. Met with Dr. Hodges before my procedure and he took the time to answer all my questions and make sure I was comfortable with the procedure. The procedure went very smoothly with no complications. I have seen Dr. Z and the other Dr. Hodges for my follow up appointments and they were also very professional, answered questions and personable. The only somewhat negative thing I have to say is sometimes you can wait a while for your apt; however, know the doctors will take the time to explain/answer your questions while meeting with them (which is apart of the reason for the delay). I have recommended Hodges to other people since my procedure and they have reported similar experiences to me too.

I just can not say enough about this eye center. I had cataracts and such a bad experience at another place. Hodges saved my life. They got me in in a week. Did both my eyes in one week. And did not rip me off for any additional charges like the other place I was going to. The Staff were the nicest people I have ever experienced in a Doctor's office. The Doctor is amazing. I wouldn't recommend this for an ordinary eye problem visit. This place is definitely a patient mill. You'll probably wait 1.5-2 hours for 5 minutes with the doc. The staff was nice but clearly trying to get as many people in and out as possible. Doctor was extremely brief felt like a whirlwind.

It's been a little over a month since Dr. Hodges performed the SMILE procedure on both my eyes, and I have to say that I'm so happy with the results. The staff does a wonderful job of minimizing your anxiety and preparing you for the procedure. When I arrived the day of we went over some final paperwork, I downed a small dose of Xanax and had a final vision check before being taken back to the laser suite. The whole procedure took about 20-25 minutes for both eyes. I was directed to stare at the green light and remain still (no talking) while the laser was engaged. The whole laser bit was extremely quick. As I stared at the green light, my vision slowly went foggy and eventually clouded over. Dr. Hodges then went to work removing the lenticule, and BAM. Done. I went home and slept for several hours and awoke to mostly clear vision. All in all, my healing time was a little over one week to have perfect 20/20 vision in both eyes. The staff checked in on me via phone after the surgery as well, just to make sure everything was healing properly. I'm still stunned with my clear vision. It's as clear as my vision with glasses. I would highly recommend Dr. Hodges and his team for vision correction surgery. 10/10

I recently had LASIK surgery with Dr. Hodges and it is hands down one of the best decisions I've ever made! For years I had been told by other doctors/practices that surgery would be out of the picture due to the severity of my astigmatism, until Hodges Eye Care and Surgical Center did their testing and confirmed that I was in fact a candidate for the LASIK surgery. I went to Hodges Eye Care to see if multi-focal lens would work for me so I could get rid of prescription glasses. I don't have cataracts so this would be an elective surgery and expensive. I was very excited about the possibility, but in the end I am not a good candidate. I gave Hodges 5 Stars because I felt they really tried to make it work for me. They brought me in 3 times to retest my eyes, but finally I met with Dr. Hodges who told me the reason a multi-focal lens would not work for me. He was patient and gave me the reasons I would not have a good result. I am disappointed but happy that they were honest with me, and I know what my options are for the future. This is a great place with skilled staff. Now, I'm off to buy new glasses!

Not a good place to go to just get check ups/ routine eye exam. Spent over 1.5 hour mostly waiting around. Once you go in, they do some eye drops/ dilation and you have to wait in a 2nd waiting area with 4-5 other people for the doctor. Then you get about 5min with the doctor and I felt rushed afterward when I had to put my contacts back in.

I had SMILE with Dr. Hodges about 10 days before writing this review. I went in with 20/500 vision and left my checkup with Dr. Calderon today with 20/15 vision. After waking up every day and reaching for my glasses before getting out of bed for 17 years straight, the difference is profound. It was money well spent and I'll never look back (but if I do, I can at least see it without glasses!) Thank you Dr. Hodges, Dr. Calderon, Cesar, and the entire team here!

The front desk is staffed by young people wo do not treat you kindly unless you are young & good looking. As I am plain-to-ugly, they let me sit in the waiting room as 3 people who came in after me were taken in back for their exams. I asked about it at the front desk, and got a deer-in-the-headlights look. Then I asked if I was too gross in some way, and she giggled and could not meet my eyes. I asked straight up if I was too ugly for their business, and she giggled more and gave a look to her co-workers that made it obvious I was purposely ignored. A manager did offer to get me in with "no wait", but honestly, I don't feel comfortable with the front desk staff, and feel I should go elsewhere. This business could use some anti-bullying and courtesy training.

20/10 vision after wearing glasses since 2nd grade (20/800 prior). Need I say more? I had ICL implants placed in November with Dr. Hodges. He is very professional and an extremely precise eye surgeon. I am in the medical field and I can tell you that he practices gold standard medicine. He has really changed my life. I should have done this sooner but I was hesitant about having surgery on my eyes (as likely everyone feels). Zero post-op pain and I am seeing 20/10 at my 6 week follow up. No joke. If you're considering ICLs, see Dr. Hodges.

I first went to Lasik Institute. They wanted me to get PRK. If you look it up online you'll see it's a painful and long healing process. I asked them for lasik but they wouldn't budge. The next week I went to Hodges. They told me I could safely get any surgery I wanted. So, I went with them and got SMILE. I was in and out within an hour. The surgery was completely painless. Got home and just to be sure I'd sleep the recommended 4 hours I took a small sleeping pill. After the 4 hour nap I could see almost as well as when I had my glasses on. The next morning I had my follow up at Hodges and was told my vision is 20/20. Over the next month it will get even better. Right now I'm 24 hours after the surgery and I feel 100% If you can, SMILE.
