While the doctors are very good, the staff and wait times are terrible. I was not advised in advance of what tests to expect. I was told it was a pressure check for glaucoma which turned into a 3 hour ordeal. Luckily, I had arranged a ride as it was sprung on me after an hour and a half wait that they would dilate my eyes. Notification and appointment scheduling is poor. Expect extremely long wait times and a revolving door of patients.

The biggest issue I have with doctors is trust. I can pick on one hand all the doctors I can say I trusted to do what's best for me. I'm 62 and have seen many Dr's throughout my life and Dr Alam is one of the kindest and most thoughtful Doctors I've ever met. He had to work on my Retina eleven times and not once did I question his ability and expertise. Research him yourself. You will find him highly trained and experienced. He chose this profession as the best way to use his intelligence to help others. I'm grateful he did and thankful he has been in my life..

When I arrived, there was no waiting for a long time for someone to assist me & get me checked-in. After that, I was in the waiting room for only about 4 - 5 minutes before being called back. Once in back, the assistant was polite & even helped me complete my registration data on the ipad. They began my check-uy right away & I was completely finished with the exam & on my way within all of 45 minutes, from in the time I walked in to the time I walked out. All-in-all, a very pleasant experience.

Came here because I was having lingering dry eye issues 2 years after LASIK surgery and was not disappointed! Dr. Coulson was very knowledgeable and provided some great tips that I could use to alleviate the symptoms, and put in punctal plugs (per my request). I highly recommend this center. I had LASIK performed at BDP by Dr Perkins in April 2013. I had three consults prior to the procedure because I worried that my large & unequal sized pupils might result in post-procedure complications. Each doc said I was a good candidate for LASIK, so I felt pretty confident when I chose BDP. Immediately after the surgery I experienced halos - which I describe as intense fog. Especially at night and when I’m low light environments during the day. BDP assured me that it was normal and would resolve in a matter of weeks to months. It didn’t. After several exams, BDP kept telling me there was no reason that I should be experiencing halos because my eyes were healthy. That didn’t keep them from asking me to try eye drops to constrict my pupils, driving with my dome light on, glasses, and even contact lenses. None of these possible solutions helped and this dragged on for years. (Try this, try that.) In 2015 Dr. Schiff showed me scans of the topography of my corneas before and after surgery. Fairly uniform prior to and not after – at the time he said he believed this uneven topography of my corneas after LASIK was the cause of my higher order aberrations and was likely caused by the laser/software during my procedure. He said “Topo” guided LASIK could fix it but the procedure isn’t available in US yet but BDP would “take care of it” and the procedure (once it was available) and any other follow up would be performed at no cost to me. I was a little frightened at the prospect of BDP operating on me again so I went and got other opinions. One doc said he believed only PRK (implanted contacts) would help because two flaps would make the issue worse. The other doc said even if I decided to go to Canada for Topo guided LASIK - it probably wouldn’t help based on what he saw. I took this info back to BDP and Dr Perkins finally admitted that Topo wouldn’t help me at all - after dragging me along for over 5 years. I filed a FDA med watch report but other than that I really have no recourse. The worst of it is every time I go into BDP to have a conversation about what’s new and what could be done to help my problem, they do a full exam and send me the bill. And every time I call them and waste my time with their billing department until they finally write it off based on the conversation that I had with Schiff in 2015. This time I recieved a notice that BDP has sent me to collections over a $70 bill from my last appointment with Perkins - even after the check out desk told me I didn't owe anything for the visit. I wish I could say that I’m surprised. But it’s the reason I finally decided to write a review. If anyone is considering LASIK I would tell them that complications can and DO happen. And if I had it to do all over again - I wouldn’t do it at all. Especially at Barnet Dulaney Perkins.

My dad mr. Brister went to this place for a stop seen in his eye ended up having cataract surgery. All i can say is this is the best doctors office ive ever been to ive ever heard of. The doctors the staff r completely amazing so respectful so helpful they made everything as easy as possible. Another thing i love about them is it didnt matter how stupid the question i asked was , they answered and not just answered my questions they made sure i understood, i love that. And today is my dads birthday , he had the surgery on the 22nd of jan. 2019 and today on his birthday i got a text from them telling my dad happy birthday that was so awesome and we greatly greatly appreciate all they have done. I had a diabetic eye exam. The wait time was atrocious and staff members were rude. The ophthalmologist brought in several interns and the room was crowded. Then, after a horrible experience, I never got a vision prescription. After calling them 3 times with no return phone call and my primary care doctor having to contact them to call me back, they finally called and responded that it would be $45 for me to get the prescription even though my insurance paid for the exam. This place is a joke. I would not recommend to anyone.

Good service, great doctors & smiling staff make for amazing care filled w/ wonderful results. However, the layout of the office is NOT wheelchair accessible or friendly by any means. First the waiting room doesn't have adequate parking of wheelchairs for those who can't transfer out of it. We literally had to block the aisle or put Grandpa in the corner as if he were in "time out". The exam room's were worse. The door couldn't open far enough for the chair to fit due to the eye exam machine being pushed behind it. The staff said there were two "wheekchair" accessible rooms however they were currently being used so unfortunately, we had to struggle to get Grandpa out of the chair (w/o a grab bar device) into & upon the exam chair. I would think that servicing such a various population of ages & stages in one's health journey, it would be just a little more "locomotive/ambulatory friendly" Ijs. But thanks for the care you've given.

I had a good experience there. I only waited 5 minutes to be called back. Then 1 girl took care of me then sent me to a different waiting room, again I only waited 5 minutes until I as called. I then got some pictures taken and put back into back lobby, and again only waited 5 minutes. Then I saw the doctor, Dr. Berlin and what a great doctor he is! He immediately makes you so comfortable. He has a wonderful disposition. He answered my questions and explained what's going on with eyes and offered solutions. The only thing I did not like about this place is that they don't do examines for contact lenses. But all in all I think it's a great place to get your eye exams.

Doctor's and nurses here are excellent as well as front desk staff. Dr. Coulson and Dr. Berbas are fantastic. You might wait awhile but the care you receive makes it worth it. Front desk staff and nurses are good. Other secondary staff may need a little more time training on communications and customer service.

Beware. To say I am disappointed with this office would be an understatement. I called them over six months ago to schedule an ICL surgery with Dr. Perkins. Based on my research, he was one of the best on the west coast. I live in Washington state so I had to fly in for all of my eye appointments, which was four separate flights to Phoenix. I flew in this week for my final preoperative appointment. Dr. Perkins was nice, polite, and I was confident that the surgery was going to be great. I left and I got a phone call an hour later that my surgery was going to be cancelled. They had to special order my lenses based on my measurements and this would take 6-8 weeks! My surgery date had been scheduled for six months and my measurements were taken 6 weeks ago. Why didn’t they do them then? They had no answers other than “that’s just how they do it.” However, the worst part is that the office refused to let me talk to the surgeon, and never once apologized for my inconvenience. I had taken 8 days off work for this surgery and to travel to Arizona. I bought four flights to Phoenix for it and booked my travel. And not once did they apologize or ask how they could make it right. The office manager was incredibly rude and flippant and continually interrupted me. I am now out thousands of dollars because of the way they handled this. And still no apology whatsoever. On another note, while waiting in the waiting room, a woman in her 90s approached the front desk asking when her appointment was. And the receptionist rudely said, “we called you and you never came up.” (She obviously was hard of hearing and didn’t hear her name being called). They then made her walk very slowly around the office to meet and reschedule her appointment for weeks out. All while acting annoyed towards her! It broke my heart how rude they were to her. I think these surgeons are talented and was personally very impressed with Dr. Perkins. However, the staff and office manager made the rest of the experience horrible. Scheduling my surgery elsewhere.

It was a very good experience ! I walked in at 8:05 A.M to make an appointment and was told they could get me in that day at 10:15 A.M . So I decided to just wait and within 30 mins I was called back , and saw the Dr within 15 of that . Beware. To say I am disappointed with this office would be an understatement. I called them over six months ago to schedule an ICL surgery with Dr. Perkins. Based on my research, he was one of the best on the west coast. I live in Washington state so I had to fly in for all of my eye appointments, which was four separate flights to Phoenix. I flew in this week for my final preoperative appointment. Dr. Perkins was nice, polite, and I was confident that the surgery was going to be great. I left and I got a phone call an hour later that my surgery was going to be cancelled. They had to special order my lenses based on my measurements and this would take 6-8 weeks! My surgery date had been scheduled for six months and my measurements were taken 6 weeks ago. Why didn’t they do them then? They had no answers other than “that’s just how they do it.” However, the worst part is that the office refused to let me talk to the surgeon, and never once apologized for my inconvenience. I had taken 8 days off work for this surgery and to travel to Arizona. I bought four flights to Phoenix for it and booked my travel. And not once did they apologize or ask how they could make it right. The office manager was incredibly rude and flippant and continually interrupted me. I am now out thousands of dollars because of the way they handled this. And still no apology whatsoever. On another note, while waiting in the waiting room, a woman in her 90s approached the front desk asking when her appointment was. And the receptionist rudely said, “we called you and you never came up.” (She obviously was hard of hearing and didn’t hear her name being called). They then made her walk very slowly around the office to meet and reschedule her appointment for weeks out. All while acting annoyed towards her! It broke my heart how rude they were to her. I think these surgeons are talented and was personally very impressed with Dr. Perkins. However, the staff and office manager made the rest of the experience horrible. Scheduling my surgery elsewhere.

They operated on my mothers cataracts and did an excellent job. I had to have a similar operation and I was extremely happy with the results. That was a couple of years ago. Lately, my eyes began to have some cloudiness. I was going to have my eyes examined for a prescription. Instead of using my providers recommended optometrists, I went back to Barnet. They found that scar tissue was the problem. The thoroughness of Barnets' testing was very assuring. My providers' recommended optometrists would probably found that, but Barnet was able to immediately schedule the appointments necessary to correct the problem, using the same people that had previously done such an excellent job. Got lasik done here yesterday and I'll update this later for the results as to the surgery itself is was quick and efficient. My results the day after are as expected my eyes are sore and my vision isn't yet where I want it to be. My major complaint about this place is the wait times. There was a ridiculous wait time for the free consultation. But the day after appointment was FAR worse my appointment was scheduled for 815 am and I want called in until 840. Just to wait another 20 minutes for the doctor to come in. Had I known how inconsiderate this company is of their patients time I definitely would have looked elsewhere

Was easy to get an immediate appointment. All staff were friendly and courteous. The only reason I didn’t give it 4/5 stars is because I went into the room where the doctor was finishing up charting on a previous patient. When I told the doctor my issue, after clicking on the computer keyboard and mouse, didn’t wash his hands or disinfect his hands before he went to touch my eye. I do not even touch my own eyes with my hands much less allow anyone touch my eyelid without sanitizing. Gloves were not worn either but not sure if they practice hand hygiene in that manner for an eye exam. I was shocked and grossed out all at the same time. I have a follow up appointment with a “specialist” and would only hope that this doctor wears gloves or washes hands before coming at me to examine my eyes.

Staff and doctors are very good and very polite. The only thing I don't like about this clinic is they make you wait for 30mins before seeing a Tech. I have visited this clinic more than 5 times now and there is always a wait of at least 30mins and sometimes 45mins to an hour. I am rating 3 star because of the wait period. More than twice I had to wait for 2 hours to complete all the steps and actual time spent with the doctor was 15mins. Wait to see 1st technician, then wait to see another technician and then wait for the doctor and finally wait another 15-20mins to get a followup appoint. They should seriously improve their wait time and be considerate of others. It is not professional to make people wait for 30-45mins. I keep going back because I like the doctors.

This office does not have their stuff together. I submitted a request online for a consultation. And never got a call. I submitted a 2nd time only to get an email telling me to call for a consultation. When I do get a hold of someone she booked me for an appointment that afternoon if I was available so I said I’d leave work early and be there. No instructions were given to me. I showed up for my 1:45 appointment filled out records on their tablet and waited. And waited. And waited some more.. About an hour and a half later one gal asks my name and what I’m here for. When I tell her she says ok come with me then notices my contacts and asks if I’m wearing any. I said yes, she said well we can’t do the consult with contacts. They must be out for 72 hours for an accurate reading. So I left work early to wait for over an hour and a half to be told we’ll have to reschedule you. I didn’t leave til after 3:30. I’m pissed that they made me waste my time and I highly doubt I’ll end up using them instead of a more competent staff.

His full name is Dr. David Coulson. I am 77 years old. Older people need someone to be very careful and patient with them and sometimes explain something more than once, Dr. Coulson is this doctor. Your company should realize how fortunate you are to have him.
