Great office and team environment! We had a family appointment (two parents, four children, one of which is 3 months old, two are autistic and have ADHD, and one is 5). They worked through all of us (with exception of baby) quickly and with great patience and care for the kids! It was a WAY better experience than we were expecting!

I’m glad to see such positive reviews of this place. I called to make an appointment with them and the person I spoke with set it up st the exact time I get off. I told her that, and warned that I would be late. She said that’s okay so long as you’re there within 30 Min. I met that criteria but instead of seeing me, they scheduled me for 30 days later. Needless to say I canceled the appointment and will never use them or recommend them.

The support staff at Makar is always friendly and courteous, check-in and out I'd always quick and efficient. The professional staff is professional and efficient and they take the time necessary to perform a thorough pre-exam screening. I have direct experience with Dr. Tony for the past 10 years and every general exam is a positive experience as he takes all the time necessary to discuss history, concerns, eye health, and perform a detailed and thorough exam and refraction. I have only seen Dr. Rivera for eye health concerns, but she always demonstrates the same level of professionalism and thoroughness as Dr. Tony, so I would extrapolate that she and the other staff Optometrists demonstrate the same high level of care. If you are looking for a long term Optometrist relationship, this is the place for you.

They called to check up and made an additional appointment for the following day as a follow up. We see them annually for routine exams and it is always great. I'm moving once again and will be lucky to find an office half a committed to their patients and their needs. Today 02/14/2019 @1745 I called to make an appointment. I know you guys close at 1800 but I took my chances and tried to set an appointment. I’ve heard good things about you guys. A lady that unfortunately didn’t get her name, asked me to hold and then for some reason the call got disconnected. She told me that you guys are booked until March 4th. I was willing to wait that long! I think would be better if maybe 15 minutes prior to end shift, some what all calls can be re directed to a voicemail, so this doesn’t happen.. to me or anyone else. I had a great experience at Makar Eye care. I switched to them 2 year ago after a bad experience at another eye Dr in Anchorage. Makar has been awesome. Their staff is so nice and make you feel very comfortable. Their office is very comfortable and clean. I only waited maybe 5 minutes before being called back. The gentleman who did my pre-testing was so nice and polite. Last year I was treated by Dr. Makar herself and she was great. This year I was treated by Dr. Morey and she was amazing. She is very friendly and polite and made me feel so comfortable. She took the time to explain everything to me in terms that I could understand. She took lots of time with me and I felt like she really listened to me and genuinely cared about my eye health. I would highly recommend Makar Eyecare to everyone. You will have a great experience!

For the most part.....the office is super nice n very roomy. The staff and doctors were very friendly and beyond helpful. All except a couple of the front desk girls. They were actually pretty rude and the couple checking in before me and the guy that came in after me had the same thought. But the rest of the staff I seen or spoke with were very helpful and kind.

I've never had issues prior to today, everyone is normally very friendly. Dr. Morey and her technician gave my husband and I a thorough eye exam and were happy to answer all of our questions. I am giving Makar eyecare only one star because we spent 2 hrs dealing with incompetent customer service when we ordered our contacts. In the end, my husband ordered a year supply of contacts which they ensured us came with a $50 mail in rebate. Only to find out that the brand they sold us were not covered by the rebate. When I called back to let them know about the rebate issue I was transferred twice then told that the only person who could help me with the contacts was busy. I ordered my contacts from Costco because they are half the price Makar charges.

When I walked into the clinic, no one greeted me, and when someone did notice I was there, they still didn’t say hello. They just asked what time my appointment was and barely looked up. After going through the various tests with the assistant, I waited over 30 minutes to see the doctor. Then when the doctor came in, I got a very smug vibe from him. When he asked questions, he barely waited for me to finish getting my answer out before he cut me off. I’m sure they know what they are doing in terms of eye care, but their customer service was pretty awful and I will not be back.

I’m on a fixed income at the end of the appointment they want $193.00 know way I can afford it if I had known it was going to cost that much I would have said no. They are usually good , I think they slipped this time.

I moved across town and was looking for a more convenient optometrist. I had tried one other nearby practice (Accurate) prior to Makar and was happy with Accurate's service, but was unhappy with their billing practices. They charged additional out of pocket beyond insurance coverage for annual eye exams that I felt was a bit out of line. I then tried Makar the following year and my experience was even better and billing was in line with expectations. Friendly staff, wonderful facility, and all around great optometrist. I've found my new practice and would recommend Makar to anyone.

Would Not recommend this place at all. I've been to awesome eye care offices, in a couple different states, so I know what good customer care and professionalism is. I chose Makar because of all the good reviews, but they mustve been having a discount off services for good reviews or something cause neither myself or my husband have had an even decent experience here. Staff is not welcoming or helpful and cant even make a simple appointment correctly. On 4 occasions (which I've only made 5 appts ever)I've had to reschedule appointments and they told me my new appointment time, I wrote it down, and when I've gone in they said they didn't have me scheduled and would refer to my original appt. This has happened EVERY TIME I've made an appt for both my husband and myself! Then when you actually get to see someone, all they want to do is sell you a bunch of products and services you don't want or really need. At Makar eyecare you are just another number to get in and out as quick as possible with as much stuff as they can talk you into buying. Search elsewhere for better care and professionalism!
