My family was referred to Dimond Vison Clinic by a friend over 25 years ago. The office has kept up with the technology of the times, always looking for new innovative ways to look after my eye health. I love the eye scan! They take a picture of the inside of the eye to look for problems at the earliest stage. When my insurance changed a few years ago and Dimond Vision was no longer in my plan, I tried multiple other clinics around Anchorage, none of them compared to the care I received from Dr. Kjome & his staff. He is very kind, gentle, and informative. He's happy to go over the specifics of my eyes, and will show me on the pictures he's taken what his notes mean on the chart- I feel like my eyes are in the best care. A few years ago I had very dry eyes and though it is not the normal part of the exam asked for his opinion. He suggested vitamins, an eye press and eye wash and explained the possible causes of dry eye and what I could do to work with it. I really appreciate that he takes the time to listen to his patients and respond to the questions that are on my mind.Small little things like that really make a big difference and make an office stand out against the rest. The folks in the glasses shop are also helpful and accommodating, they always offer to give your current pair of glasses or sunglasses a good cleaning or a readjustment & on a previous pair of glasses I had - I asked if the nose pieces could be swapped out. Instantly the tech swapped out my uncomfortable metal pieces with stock silicon ones. It took zero time for him to swap them over, it didn't cost me anything, and he let me keep my old pieces in case I ever wanted to swap back. My family and I have been recommending friends to Dimond Vision Clinic for years. If you are in the market for a do your eyes a favor. Look them up! I don't trust my eyes to anyone else! Dr. Kjome has been keeping our eyes healthy for over 20 years. We trust him implicitly. Since the addition of Dr. Hazelton, we have been seen before we are able to update our information, which is such a treat. The front desk team is cheerful and very capable and the office has been beautifully updated. We HIGHLY recommend Dimond Vision.

I have been a patient at DVC for over two decades now and I have never had a bad experience there. The DVC office staff are always cordial and very efficient. Dr Dobson always takes the time to explain things that are changing with my vision as I age. He has detected and diagnosed some potentially serious eye problems to allow me to maintain my vision without any significant changes to my lifestyle or aviation career. When I have had questions or concerns regarding my eyes, I have been able contact him via email and he has always responded promptly. First visit was about 45 minutes wait as well as the second and today is the third. Was there 10 minutes before my appointment time was waiting until 20 minutes after still not hear anything from them so decided to ask to see how much longer, she is nice enough to send someone to check and he came back and told me it would be 30 more minutes huh!! all total of the wait would be almost an hour??? I think I dont have that much time to spend with this place anymore ...my appointment was set up almost a month in advance and this is unacceptable!!

Dr. Kjobe and his colleagues keep up with the state of the art eye health and vision tests, equipment and observation, and nutrition/ vitamins in a holistic practice. I continued to rely on them for my vision care for the past 10 years even after I moved back to Fairbanks. Dr. Kjobe understands my bifocal needs as a birdwatcher (I want the best far distance vision) at the same time provides prescription that works for close up work. The whole staff is very helpful and bends over backwards to get you an appointment!

Yes I normally have to wait in the office, but if nobody can diagnose your problem, Dr. Dobson LOVES a good mystery and is very good at figuring out what is causing the problem. He's been my doctor since '92 and was referred to me by a woman who couldn't get an accurate diagnosis and treatment in or out of Alaska, until she went to Dr. Dobson. He diligently keeps up on current practices, and is just a super-nice, gentle guy.

Dr. Dobson goes out of his way for his patients. My daughter had an eye irritation over the weekend that turned out to be an infection. Dr. Dobson met us at the clinic on a Sunday to treat her and get her the medication she needed to clear it up. He even went as far as to say that if we had waited until they were open, the infection may have affected her cornea. We always get wonderful care at Dimond Vision.

Infuriating. Great service right up til they explain that an “eye exam” doesn’t cover the cost of contact fitting, that’s extra. What the hell is the point of going to an eye clinic if not for a contact fitting? How is that a separate exam? And part of the “exam” isn’t even covered anymore. And of course they don’t tell you what’s covered before the exam, just when they hand you a bill with no explanation afterwards. Where on earth do you have no idea what the bill will be before the service begins? I’ll never be going back, if I could I’d give this place a -100 stars to counter every other review. The worst, stay away.

My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Dobson at Dimond Vision Clinic for 15 years now. Our sons are also long-time patients. I have always found all of the staff to be courteous and professional, and we always receive a very thorough exam. They are continuously updating to the latest technological tools to aid in the examination process. The clinic itself is stunning after the recent renovation. I particularly appreciate that Dr. Dobson takes a conservation approach with care; i.e., a slight change in vision doesn't necessarily warrant a costly change in prescription. As much as I like the care we receive, I also appreciate their amazing selection of eyewear, which is also constantly being updated. I feel very fortunate that friends recommended Dimond Vision when we first moved here, and I too recommend them to everyone we meet.

I had been to Dimond Vision Clinic before and had a good experience. I returned after having moved back to the area, however I did not have the same good experience. I ended up waiting 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment time, and found that they were still not prepared for my actual visit. I was more than irritated by that time so I left, needless to say, I will not return. No one called to follow up on what happened. Slow and poor customer service.

This is a very professional and capable clinic. The medical personnel are extremely knowledgeable and caring. My wife developed detachments in her retina and the Clinic's staff worked out of hours on Sunday to examine her eyes and get her a laser surgery appointment for the next day. Highly recommended!

The doctors keep up with the latest in technology and new discoveries. I see Dr. Dobson, but have also seen Dr. Kjome. Both are excellent. Great Doctor! I have been going here for almost 30 years. The office is busy and it takes a while to get an appointment. Getting a great doctor is worth the wait. They don't make appointments to dispense eye glasses so you can wait a long time in the office to pick up your new glasses.

Arrived at our scheduled appointment time and were made to wait for 25 minutes. My 3 1/2-year-old daughter was very patient but they insisted on asking us to wait another 30 minutes or reschedule. We have had another bad experiences at his location with them not keeping the appointment time as agreed-upon. I will be very happy to move and not have to use this provider any longer. It seems they focus more on quantity of patients to make money rather than caring for what they actually have capacity to handle.

I was told they were tight but would send my info to the doctors office and someone would call me right away to see if there was a possibilty or to schedule an appointment. Fast forward several hours and I'm at an urgent care. It would be nice in today's society that people followed through on their statements. Would've liked to establish a preferred eye care facility and optometrist here in Anchorage, the search continues.....

Im camping cross country, driving through, I went to see the dr. because I thought a contact lens was stuck in my eye. I got an appointment right away, the dr. was very knowledgeable and showed me the proper way to remove my lense, he took a short exam, found no lost lens, WALKED me out to the front desk and didn't even charge me for his time. It was a courtesy that is so rarely given. I loved the office, professionalism, patience and service. My friend in Anchorage used them as their eye dr. and I too would if I lived here. They are an honest true mom and pop business that CARES for the patient not the all mighty dollar! Kudos to you Dimond Vision Clinic!!! Kudos to you!!!!

The frontdesk staff were horrible. It seems their manager doesn't mind it at all. Be careful when you are asked to pay out of pocket. Most likely they will overcharge you. Try to do your own math and also be ready for their impatient, unhappy, and funny faces. Although Dr. Gary was great, I am not going back. So sorry for Dr. Gary!

Decided to try another place besides LensCrafters. Dr was great. It takes weeks to receive prescription glasses. Third time I put them on; the lens falls out on to ground. I'm very, very upset. LensCrafters NEVER had this issue and I went Ray Bans from Dimond Vision. Go to office and they don't even know who I am!!! Gave them my name three times and birth date three times. Turns out they entered my birthdate wrong and no comment. The gal checks out the glasses and says "I'm not happy with the fit. im sending them back." Excuse me? How is this place still in business?!

Ordered a pair of prescription sunglasses, which were way too expensive. I ordered on a Friday and was told they would arrive in about two weeks. I was excited and called 11 days later, on a Tuesday, just to see if they were in yet. They said the sunglasses would get in Thursday. Great! Except they weren't. I called on Thursday, they said there was a delay, and they'd arrive Tuesday. Called on Wednesday, they said their was a defect in the glasses and the lab had to outsource part of the work, but they were shipping that day and would arrive Friday. Today is Friday. I just called, the lab hasn't even shipped them yet! They won't ship them until Monday, meaning I SHOULD get them Wednesday. That will be nearly a month since I ordered them, IF they even show up Wednesday. Outageous.
