Great experience! The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. They have an outstanding selection of frames. Very pleased every time I go.
My mother, Ardith Lemons, gives you a high grade. Dr Shaver and his assistant, Erika Stokes were very nice and accomidating. Would give them 5 stars. Would definitely go back to them if In the area.
Professional, knowledgeable and courteous staff-The Eye Center has the best Optometrists in NWA! Dr. Morris goes above and beyond every visit!! Wouldn't go anywhere else!
Great!
Great staff and great facility. I just saw Andy Langston for my yearly visit and he was wonderful - very patient, kind and extremely helpful! I also had to pick out new glasses while there. They not only had a large selection, but the staff jumped right in to help me find the perfect frames. I highly recommend going to The Eye Center!
Great experience and great staff! Eye exam was quick and the doctor provided great advice. Ada was very helpful in finding the perfect pair of glasses and making sure they fit and were functional. I will definitely be returning!
The staff was very curtious and professional. The selection of eye glasses that they have is phenomenal. I will definitely return for my next pair of glasses.
Wonderful staff and great service.
My surgery of cataract removal and lens placement was done by Dr. Risch,he did a fantastic job. I have not seen this well in years even with contacts. I am very happy with the results, I wish I had done this years ago.
This was the best Dr experience I have had in years. Cataract surgery with Dr Patric Risch. Wonderful, warm, informative, on top of his game young Dr. Really a pleasant experience. Great staff! And “I can see clearly now. The cloudy cataracts are gone”.
Very thorough eye exam for Lasik/Lasek surgery. Staff was very nice and doctor was very patient and welling to answer all questions
I spent an hour there between my scheduled appointment time and the time I left the building. The amount of time I spent interacting with the assistant/doctor/optical assistant - less than 15 minutes in total, the rest 45 minutes I was "enjoying" the hospitality of the waiting room. I thought you make appointments to allow both the establishment and the client to better manage their schedule, but it seems that they don't value their time, or the time of their patients. The kicker is that I spent all that time sitting in the waiting room to get my prescription corrected after they had given me the wrong one a few weeks prior (there was a fair amount of waiting involved in that visit as well). At the end they did get my prescription corrected and replaced free of charge, but the amount of waiting I had to do to get it all figured out is ridiculous.
I saw Grammer Morris and wondered why she was so rude to me. I got my prescription and never went back because of her rudeness. I know now that she supports inequality for the LGBT community, so no way would I go back there, especially since she's discriminatory - I am gay.
Everyone there is very helpful and professional. Ada in particular has always been helpful with helping me pick glasses that suit my face and are sturdy enough to last.
This place deserves more than just five stars! Dr. Shaver is absolutely, hands down the best optometrist I have came across. I currently live/work in Australia and periodically come back to have regular health check ups etc. He is one of the first doctors I visit. I admit I am a needy patient and probably keep him in the room longer than the office anticipates but he always remains patient. He answers all my questions and Erika at the front desk is awesome too. Always making me laugh!
Dr. Calderwood and her staff are amazing! They are all extremely helpful, intelligent and organized. The office is also very clean!
Just had my yearly exam with Dr. Morris ( Tamara Grammer Morris). Can not say enough wonderful things about The Eye Center and Dr. Morris. All of the staff is so friendly and helpful. Dr. Morris has been my Doctor for over 10 years. Trust her completely, she is a fantastic person as well as a terrific Doctor. Entire family, husband, grown children along with son & daughter in laws use Dr. Morris. We wouldn't trust anyone else with our eye care but the terrific staff at The Eye Center and of course Dr. Morris.
They make a ton of mistakes and run late or bumped me twice. Very inconvenient and seemed disjointed.
Great selection of glasses and great staff. Ada was very knowledgeable and helpful!
the eye center charged me 35 bucks when I lost my glasses to get a copy of my prescription. They pretty much suck and hope everyone sees this review.
Mess up my appointment
Experienced a complicated series of eye surgeries with outstanding results (better than expected). Dr. Risch is exceptionally qualified and his expertise unmatched. All of the staff throughout the office and surgical centre were helpful, courteous and professional.
The ONLY reason that this place is getting two stars is because every person I have met during my appointments has been extremely nice. The biggest issue is that NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE OR CALLS BACK. You cannot get in contact with the contact center, and if you try to call any other section of the office they will not help you - they will just send you back to a voicemail. It's completely ridiculous, especially as someone who works full-time and is a part-time student. I do not have time to go up to the office every time I need to reorder my contacts or even just get in touch with the contact center. Like I said, nice people, but it has became apparent to me that no one there can answer a phone, AND IF THEY DO, they will send you elsewhere if it isn't "their department." To me, that is basically saying, "Not my problem." It will be switching to an office that will actually ANSWER THE PHONE or at least CALL ME BACK.
The first time I went was a great experience. This time not so much. On the 13th of February I picked up my new glasses. The lady dropped them on the floor while getting them, when I put them on they were bent but she fixed it. There is chunk of paint missing from my frame, one of the screws is stripped and sharp, but the best part is: when I walked outside I noticed my lense was scratched, so I went back in and after cleaning it multiple times the worker said it sure is. So she said she would order me a new one and it would be in about a week. It is now March 1st, still no call. I have called a couple times and gone in and no one can tell me anything or return my phone call. I will not be coming back here next year.

I'm torn because while generally friendly, I did not get the care I needed. I was given the wrong contact lenses, over charged and it was more hassle than it was worth to exchange. When I went to reorder lenses, I was still unable to get the correct type.
I have gone to The Eye Center for 6 years now....and they have been awful these last couple years. The ladies that work there are nothing but rude, and even after being a customer for so long they are so unwilling to work with you. I've went in to pick up contacts that are ready to be picked up and then when I get there they accused me of not even receiving a phone call about my contacts. They "looked" around and couldn't find them anywhere....annoyed because I have to drive over on my lunch break to the other side of town and they couldn't find them I got a call right after I left and they had found them. No apology or anything! I will never EVER go back to the eye center, I can find somewhere else to take my business that will have much better customer service. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.
I've been here three times with my young children. There is always a very, very long wait. They schedule multiple appointments per appointment time. Today I waited 40 minutes in the front lobby and walked out because I was tired of waiting. Waiting is hard for little kids and babies and my time is valuable. I will not be back.
I've been coming here since I was a girl. Now I bring my little girl here. Ada Howerton was so patient and helped her pick out her first glasses. Great facility and caring people!
Amazing clinic!! Dr. Shaver and Erika are wonderful! Thank you for the best eye care possible for my family!!
Dr. Smith will make you wait 50 minutes, and schedule appointments when she is not there. Very unprofessional and inconsiderate of people's time especially for those trying to take off work and be seen.
Dr. Hubickey is a wonderful physician! He did my LASEK surgery and I recommend anyone I know who is interested in the procedure to have it their surgery with him. He and his staff are great and extremely knowledgeable!
Great staff and Dr. Hubickey is a fantastic Dr. I had LASEK done a couple years ago and it was the best decision I ever made. I still see great, and am so happy with the procedure. I recommend Dr. Hubickey and the Eye Center to everyone I know who needs vision correction!
Thank you for taking such excellent care of me and my family! We love The Eye Center.
Had my yearly eye exam in early January, seeing Dr. Shaver and his assisting nurse Erika. They are an amazing team, I even got fitted for contacts the same day. My son was also seen on the same visit and they where were a very accommodating to a seven-year-old. I would highly recommend the Eye Center of Fayetteville.
Had cataracts removed here five years ago. Everyone was very nice, the surgery was successful and the clinic was clean. It changed my life to be able to see well and enjoy my life.
Every time I come here I wait an hour or longer to even get taken back to be seen.
The staff is very very unfriendly. No smiles. No hellos. No how is your day after surgery. NOTHING. you're a piece of paper and eyes and that's it. Been multiple times and never a smile all frowns.
I broke my frame. Tammie OBrien ordered me a new frame and installed my lens in the new frame. I appreciate the excellent service. Thank you for such good service.
This place is slow. I sit in there for 2 to 3 hours everytime I go in there. Before the doctor even sees me an people was in the since like 10 just got seen at 12. Go figure I wont be going back.
Great assistance from entire staff. Ada Howerton was particularly helpful.
I've been seeing Dr. Morris at the Eye Center for a couple of years. She told me I needed cataract surgery and I went to Dr. Risch, also at the Eye Center. I have to admit I was not looking forward to having someone cut into my eyes. Dr. Risch was completely confident, and it was clear that his confidence was based on knowledge and experience. He told me to look forward to the surgery... good advice. The surgery went smoothly and the staff was uniformly helpful and pleasant. I can see, too. An excellent experience.
Always great care...
I had a appointment on Dec.28, to get a few spots cut off around my eyes, when I was taken back to the room I informed the Dr.and the nurses no one had given me any medication to calm me. They just looked at each other and the Dr.said ,well too late now you're my last appointment I haven't got 30 minutes to wait for the medicine to kick in besides it shouldn't be that bad. What followed was excruciating pain I screamed twice, jumped numerous times, one especially painfully one I wrapped the Drs.hand and the nurse yelled at me. Immediately I was put in a wheelchair and rushed out the front door ,I was holding a Kleenex on my eye because it was still bleeding.it has been a month and my vision is bleary-eyed at best and still sore.No follow u po instructions were given.Worst experience ever,I will never return!
My experience with The Eye Center (both Drs. Smith and Risch) through two cataract removals in the same month was WONDERFUL!! Both they and their staff were professional, friendly, informative. I rarely had to wait more than five minutes after my appointment time to be called. I always felt that the doctors were willing to take all of the time I needed to make sure I understood my options and was comfortable with the procedure I selected. Gayla (surgery scheduler) was particularly helpful in making the tight schedule work and answering questions.
I have to admit, my dad (Dr. Shaver) is the best optometrist I know! Also Erika was really awesome during my visits.

They may do a good job, but after waiting an hour after my appointment time, I will never know. There was no communication from the front office staff that they were running behind...in fact they left for the day while I was waiting. If you're running behind schedule, then inform your patients before they arrive. My time is my most valuable resource and The Eye Center wasted it.
Ada is always attentive and helpful. She gives a great professional opinion and we trust her with all our eye care needs.
I always have a great experience at The Eye Center!! Everyone is so friendly and will go over and beyond to be helpful. Thank you Dr. Shaver for being so patient with answering all my questions. I also love the awesome selection of glasses and sun glasses!
They are the best eye clinic in the NWA Area. Sarah Melton was my eye nurse and she took care of me because they took my contacts out and I was blind and she led me around. She was really good with telling me exactly what was going on with my exam. Great place, great nurses and great doctors!
In a city like Fayetteville, you have to be the best to keep patients, and The Eye Center has certainly accomplished that! Dr Shaver is very professional and knowledgeable and never seems rushed. He answers all of my questions thoroughly and patiently. Erika was very friendly as well. Thank you, Fayetteville Eye Center, for making my experience pleasant!
Love the customer care!
I appreciate all the care and attention that Dr, Morris gave my granddaughter. She was alittle nervous about it. Dr. Morris explained everything to her. And all the staff is very friendly.
We had an early morning appointment for our daughter’s first eye exam. We arrived 10 minutes early as requested and were told that we didn’t need to fill out any paperwork because we preregistered online. After 30 minutes the nurse came out and asked us to fill out some additional paperwork. We weren’t seen until over 60 minutes after we got there. The doctor came out and had us jump in front of a patient that showed up late, because he heard us telling his nurse we’d have to reschedule because our daughter was starting to cry and rub her eyes (ready for her morning nap). My wife and I have both been patients here in the past and had the exact same experience for every appointment. They are always running late, even if you get there right after they open.
Being new to the Fayetteville area, I was very pleased with my visit to The Eye Center. Rose was nice and extremely helpful. She helped me pick out some different glasses that were in style.
Professional, clean, informative.
Fantastic office! I was tended to by Dr. Shaver and Erika who were so great and confident in their positions at the office! I love coming to my appointments, the atmosphere is so welcoming and comfortable. I highly recommend!
Dr. Shaver and Erika Stokes were both amazing. I wear contacts and have problems with dry eye. Both Dr. Shaver and Erika Stokes listened to my concerns and worked with me until we found the contacts that worked for me. The contacts I have are so comfortable that many times I forget I even have them in. I am very Thankful to them both for the time they have taken to make sure that I have the contacts that I need and that are so comfortable. I would recommend The Eye Center in Fayetteville to anyone.
Great customer service, prompt, friendly, and expert. Wonderful selection of frames.
I have been an Eye Center patient for many years and have always received excellent eyecare!
I've been going to Dr.Stevens for several years for my glaucoma. The doctor is brilliant! Very professional. It's hard to imagine that I could ever find a better person to manage my vision issues. If I ever do have to find a new glaucoma specialist, I pity that person, because he/she will have some difficult shoes to fill. As to some reviews complaining about waits. The waiting time varies, depending on the time of day and the patient load for the day. I have never felt rushed by Dr.Stevens, and that's more important to me than shorter waits in the reception area if those are my two choices. I try to schedule early as possible, which normally results in the shortest waits. This is often true of ANY doctor appointment.
Staff was very attentive and caring, I went in for a yearly exam with Dr. Langston he was super helpful and talked me through the whole process. Great experience.
I went to the Madison Office yesterday. The staff was both friendly and professional. I went early so there was no wait. And Dr. Frederick was organized, methodical, and efficient. He explained the issues and made suggestions to solutions. Highly recommend.
Great staff and amazing doctors!
We have been going to see Dr. Jonathan Shaver for about 3 years now and we will never go anywhere else. He's so good with my kids and very attentive. His assistant Erika is great as well. Anytime I need appointments, she works with me to get in the time slot I need. She's amazing as well as Dr. Shaver! I recommend anyone to see Erika and Dr. Shaver, you won't regret it! I will never go to another Optometry Clinic again.
after years of not coming i was treated very good by DR.Shaver and his nurse Sarah
This place is good people. Best place “eye” have ever gone too. All puns aside, I had a great experience here, l am already excited to pick out my next pair of glasses. I would highly recommend.
Dr Smith was very rude and unprofessional to the point were I had to walk out and find a different doctors office. Her attitude was uncalled for and unnecessary I do not recommend anyone going back to her.
I had LASEK surgery with Dr. Hubickey several years ago and it was the best decision ever. I was very nearsighted and my poor vision is a distant memory! Dr. Hubickey is a very thorough physician and takes his time to make sure all the testing meets his high standards. Staff is great too!
It's 2019, get a way to pay your bill online!

after years of not coming i was treated very good by DR.Shaver and his nurse Sarah
Dr hubicky seemed very knowledgeable and took care of an eye issue very quickly and staff was friendly. Would recommend
Long wait, wrong script.
Got my daughter's glasses there twice. Ada Skoch helped us out and did a great job - thanks!
Overall a good place to go. I didn't notice anything great or bad about it
Very nice experience, I and my wife both went for routine eye checkup and must say that this is the most comprehensive exam i ever got. The lady nurse Tequila is very nice and took her time and explained everything about my eye exam. Dr. Shaver is absolutely awesome, attentive and professional. He never rushed into anything, performed a very detailed and thorough eye exam I've ever had. In the past, we have spent lots of money for a fraction of service. Over all a very nice place including the personnel at front desk. Will definitely keep going back and highly recommend this place for eye exams and related issues.
The staff are very nice and great with kids but the wait is awful especially when you show up early for your appointment an still your in the waiting room for an extra 45 mins to an hour. Like if your appointment is 2:00 be prepared to be called back about 30-45 later, which if your an on time person it wouldn't make sense to show up early cause you will not get seen on time. It's not fair when you show up on time an you have to wait, then once you get called back it's another waiting game an you wait forever an forever. If you have an appointment here don't have nothing else to do or have to pick anyone else up from work cause you won't get out on time. Especially with a small child they get very restless an irritated, an when they come in to see about your child your child isn't cooperating cause they have waited so long they are tired. Other than that the staff is friendly.
Don’t make any other plans after your appt. The wait is ridiculous. I understand being busy but 2.5 hours for one appt is absurd. Everyone’s time is valuable not just Doctors.
I believe the expertise and service is great. Just got a new prescription and new readers and sunglasses - everting is perfect with my vision now. I especially like Vanessa - she has helped me with my glasses for 5 years.
Helpful staff
I've been going to The Eye Center in Fayetteville, AR for maybe twenty years? A long time. My first two docs moved away from the area. My most recent doc I've been with for many years. His name is Dr Shaver. Great guy. I love this place. I love my eye doc. And all of the women assistants are polite, patient, friendly, easy-going. It's a pleasant atmosphere all the way around. I highly recommend The Eye Center. (Also had cataract surgery done through them recently. )
This was by far the worst experience my husband or I have ever had at a clinic. We were forwarded here by our pediatrician and i called a month and a half ahead to make our appointment. Our appointment was scheduled for 3:15pm and I showed up at 2:45pm to complete all of the neccessary paperwork. My husband and two kids, 3years and 10months showed up at 3:15. We waited and waited and waited. We were not seen until 4:30 (now mind you their office closes at 5pm). However I constantly see the doctor and her nurses talking and giggling at a computer in the hallway. So after finally being called in the nurse does some little eye tests and dialates my sons eyes. While waiting i spoke with another mother that said her duaghter was there for her appointment at that was at 4pm. We are then sent out to the waiting room and wait another 20min for them to pull us into the room to see the Doctor. So after being called into the room we again waited and waited and waited. We sait in there for 45MIN!!!! Now it is 5:45pm and my two children are hungry, tired and are frustrated at having to look at walls. So we finally looked out of the room to find out that the ENTIRE Office Staff had left and the doctor was in another room with the little girl whose appointment was at 4pm which was after my son's. When the Doctor FINALLY made her appearance she said my son was fine and we could go!!! 3 HOURS to tell us he was fine! Now mind you on the paper work they sent it said to prepare for a 30min appointment! This was by far the WORST experience we have EVER had and will NEVER return! This Staff does not care for its patients or what they have going on and only want your money and to waste your time! If I could rate them NEGATIVE stars I would!
I expect to have a long wait with a doctors' appointment occasionally, emergencies happen. But this is an eye doctors' clinic!! How many life or death situations can happen there? Our appointment was set for 2:30, finally got out after 5 p.m.! Talked with other people waiting, 2 to 3 hours is the norm here....less than 5 minutes with the actual doctor. Luckily, most doctors' offices no longer practice the the art of over booking like they do here. Donna Patterson nailed it by stating that to the people of the Eye Center, you are only a piece of paper with eyes (or ears) Update: Again they apologize, yet the complaints keep coming in for the same issues. Me thinks the "apologies sound a bit hollow"
The group at the Eye Center is great!
So happy to never step foot in this place again. No one is helpful. The tenement is chocked full of many very unhappy and very unhelpful employees. Prices are high for nothing special, medically they're not a stand out. The many rude staff issues is reason enough to just stay away. I brought in 3 in my family with staggered visits all in 1 day and we spent well over 2 grand in there - and we ready to spend more for different options and looks - however, this.clinic.just.doesn't.get.it. It's as if they've been trained that the they always must be rude, they must always be unhelpful, and they must make you ask them to do their job. Thankfully we found a new clinic in Bentonville where that operates at a very high level-finally we have a highly trained, proficient medical professional where the staff is trained to be their best , and it shows - they also call us when new styles come in and we always buy additional styles. There is simply no need for this raggedy old yesteryear authoritarian clinic.
Most thorough eye exam I have ever experienced. Staff was professional, but still compassionate & caring. I felt as if I could not have been in better hands or have gotten better care. I am an "old" ER RN, I trust Dr. Calderwood & her Staff completely.
Care was fine. They are not a good steward of their patients time. They very clearly overbooked and stacked their patients in the waiting room. I had a 7:50 appointment. They saw me within 15 minutes to sign papers and place eye drops in for the pre-procedure prep. I was returned to the waiting room for what was explained as a 15 minute wait so the eye drops had a chance to work. An hour later I’m still waiting. This has happened every time I have an appointment. I’m seen for one part of the exam and handed off to a different waiting room for the next step of the exam. Very very poor time management on their part.
The doctors and staff are amazing and they really care about their patients. I have never had a bad experience and would recommend the Eye Center to anyone who is looking for state of the art eye care and a team that puts their patients first.
Amazing experience, they got me in and out in a timely manner without much wait time. The workers were very friendly and really helped me determine they best contacts for me as I have used different kinds over the years. All in all a great place to go for eye care.
I have heard good things about Dr Diveraux. The staff however was unfriendly & arrogant. They take digital photos of all patients for "their charts". I don't enjoy visiting the DMV & am not about to trust an establishment with the customer no service displayed here.
I’m surprised at the number of good reviews for the Eye Center. I have been a patient there for almost five years and I am finally fed up. The doctors are great. The staff is a different story. Mistake after mistake after mistake, and no one seems to care. I ordered glasses two years ago and it took about six weeks to get them, after several phone calls on my part and none on theirs. My contact lens orders are constantly messed up. I called to order them two weeks ago to prepare for a trip. When I called back the next week a few days before I was to leave, I found out that they had never been ordered. I had also been receiving a strange bill that I had no idea what it was for. After three unreturned calls to the billing department, I finally spoke to the office manager and she took care of everything. I shouldn’t have to speak to the manager to get people to do their job. I’ve been given the wrong contacts and had to return them myself, with no apology from them. It’s completely ridiculous to run a business like this. Very very poor customer service.
Since moving to the state three years ago we understood the importance of finding quality healthcare providers early in order to hopefully establish a life-long relationship (because really, who likes shopping for new doctors every few years?). Since the first visit The Eye Center has treated us with care and professionalism. Our time is always valued and we never feel rushed as the doctors patiently listen to our questions and concerns. We can't say enough good things about our experience and look forward to many years of consistent, professional care.
The Fayetteville Eye Clinic is wonderful!! The doctor and staff are incredibly friendly and helpful!! I NEVER have to wait in the sitting area for very long!! They are very cognizant of others' time which I can definitely appreciate!!I also feel like they genuinely care about me as a patient!!
Dr. Brown is knowledgeable and caring. He took his time, explained things thoroughly and was extremely kind. The staff was first-rate - professional, friendly and helpful.
DO NOT GO HERE. They have been OVER-CORRECTING my eyes, causing strain and vision problems. I switched to Focus Family Eye Care, and the doctor immediately dropped my prescription from -5.0 in both eyes to -4.0 and -4.25. He was SHOCKED when I told him my past prescription and was not at all surprised at the strain and headaches and tired eyes I have been experiencing. They have also tried to dissuade me from buying frames that fit my face because they were "men's frames" so not a great issue if you need gender neutral care!!
Five star eye center. Dr shaver is super and makes u feel very comfortable . I feel blessed to have him as my eye dr. His nurse Ericka has a super personality. She always treats us as if we are Special. Laura one of the techs for Dr Shaver is really a jewel. The receptionist Anita is fantastic and makes u have a warm feeling of care for people. Like ada also in optical. Really they are all nice. l
The Eye Center is the best place around for eye care! The office is always well kept. Ada is a nice and very helpful!
