I've used the doctors at the Alabama Vision Center for the past 22 years. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, The doctors are some of the best-trained and most experienced in the country. I have a lot of friends who have either had lasik done with incredible results (20/15) or have had cataracts removed and they are all walking billboards for the doctors! I had lasik done 19 years ago by Dr. Kloess and have had no change in my vision. It's a modern-day miracle! Love the sunglasses in their optical shop too.

In college I contracted a virus that manifested itself in my left eye. It blurred my vision, and I was very afraid of the long-term side effects. I went to Dr. Kloess at Alabama Vision Center, and with time and his supervision, the virus completely cleared - much to my relief. After my eye healed, I never felt comfortable returning to contacts, so I struggled with glasses from that point forward. I was nearsighted with an astigmatism so I had to have glasses, but they were always foggy (thanks to Alabama's humidity), in my way during my fitness classes, smudged, etc. So, 10 years later I finally mustered up the courage for LASIK, and naturally, I went back to Dr. Kloess. I knew he was very knowledgeable and an expert in his field after he helped me with my virus. Dr. Kloess told me I was the perfect candidate for LASIK, answered all of my questions, was kind and comforting, and I finally went through with LASIK two weeks ago. I wish I had done it sooner. It is the best thing I have ever done, and there was no reason for me to be nervous about it. Yes, I had to be careful about make-up, rubbing my eyes, and driving at night at first, but now I'm not only back to normal functionally but with 20/15 vision! I no longer need glasses or contacts, and I will always be grateful to Dr. Kloess for giving me such a wonderful gift. I also can't leave out the wonderful office staff who went above and beyond to help me find ways to make this possible financially and give me the support I needed. If you are on the fence about LASIK, I truly believe you should go to Alabama Vision Center. You won't regret it!

I had Lasik performed by Dr. V four years ago. I went from having a severe astigmatism and not being able to see my toes without glasses or contacts to 40/40 vision after my first surgery. During the six months that followed, I was seen by Dr. V and Dr. K. At six months they scheduled me for another procedure by Dr. V. Within a couple months after the second procedure, I was able to read the 20/15 line in full and even a few letters from the 20/10!!! During the procedures, Dr. V was extremely patient with me and explanatory of everything he was doing. His staff were pleasant and thorough in their work. I was intensely nervous, but am glad that I had this done. I would recommend anyone to this practice with no hesitation. Thanks for my vision, doc!!

I knew of Dr. Kloess' excellent reputation through numerous other patients of his(including my mom), so there was zero hesitation on my part to let him perform the surgery. In fact, he was my FIRST & ONLY choice. Sure, I had many options, but this was my eyesight we're talking about. I didn't want anyone other than Dr. Kloess operating on me. This group of doctors is amazing, I believe I have seen them all now. Everyone there from the time you walk-in to the time you walk out is such a pleasure. Rayvon at the front desk is just a sweetheart. Technician Mallory is very kind and sweet. Haley in the glasses department, bless her heart, was so patient helping me pick frames and had the biggest smile on her face throughout my whole process which I appreciate because I know I was a pain, I'm such a picky person. I loved her honesty on frames and she made me feel completely satisfied with my choice. I also just started wearing contacts and they have been so helpful in accommodating my needs while trying to get use to a bifocal lens, As well as being patient with me while it took me more than 45 minutes to try to take them out and put them back in. Hands down the best place to go. Only thing I haven't had to experience is surgery, but I know when the time comes for cataract surgery my experience will be just as great. I had my LASIK surgery a year ago. I went in the office very nervous with eye sight of 20/400. Dr. Kloess and his staff answered all of my questions and made me feel very comfortable. The procedure took about 5 minutes for both eyes and when he was done I was amazed at how well I could see...it was like night and day. Fast forward a year later to my annual visit and my vision is now 20/15...better than perfect! I have worn glasses since I was seven years old and been in contacts since I was 16. Do not even think about working here. The HR lady JULIE SLOAN is an uneducated bully who harassed my wife on a daily basis. Fear and intimidation tactics from her and ANGIE CANTERBURY keep the turnover rate high and all employees miserable. Even doctors are getting fed up and leaving all the time. Find somewhere else to apply.
