Terrible job on upper eye lid. Left a noticeable scar, had excessive swelling and got an infection. Dr. Long would not listen to my complaints and concerns regarding how my eyes & cheeks looked after recovering from surgery. Recently had to have another surgeon perform corrective surgery on both eyelids and removed leftover scar tissue that caused my cheeks to bulge. Current surgeon was horrified by the job performed by Dr. Long. The entire process was a Horrible experience.

I had a blocked tear duct. I was in Dr Long's office for 5 minutes and he told me what was wrong. Had been to 4 doctors in Gadsden and Boaz and misdiagnosed from all of them, said it was dry eye.

Dr. Long is an excellent surgeon, he was very prompt and knew exactly what he was doing! Procedure was quick and recovery has been a breeze. Dr Long will always be our go to specialist not only because he is so outstanding at doing his job but because he is so kind hearted and polite and just plain out nice and don't rush!! Dr. Long did upper eyelid surgery on me in late April 2018 and I can not say enough good things about him. He is kind, personable, prompt and most importantly, he is the BEST at what he does!! I chose Dr. Long because he specializes in eyes and eyelid surgery. My upper lids look amazing!! Nightmare experience. Do not use John Long. Botched not one but two surgeries on my face. I have two thick scars on both my shoulders and face because of this man. I had to go to a different plastic surgeon and he fixed it.

My eyelids had gotten so bad I was unable to see any more without holding my eyebrows up to get my eyelids out of my line of sight. I was very hesitant about having any kind of plastic surgery performed and had put it off for more years than I should have. Dr. Long did a blepharoplasty on both eyes and they look great! I can see now and I am beyond thankful for that! His staff was courteous and very helpful with appointments and scheduling surgery. They took care of it all and I didn't have to do anything. Dr. Long was great about answering any of my questions. He LISTENED to me and my wants and don't wants. He was very kind with a wonderful beside manner. I don't really care about a doctor's bedside manner as long as the results are good, but it was a plus that Dr. Long did have a good bed side manner. Dr. Long did a wonderful job on both my eyes. I could not possibly be any happier with the results. It wasn't too much or not enough....it was just right, which was a huge concern of mine. I cannot recommend him enough.

Very disappointed in Dr. Long regarding a consultation appointment. He never even ask me my concerns regarding my droopy upper eyelids or how it was interfering with my reading and other use over the course of each day. At the end he handed me my chart and walked out of the room. I had to find myself out. I drove 200 miles round trip for this appointment. I certainly will not ever be back.
