Because the firm at which I work is located in Philadelphia, I needed to search online for a reputable process server in Oklahoma City to serve trial subpoenas on short notice. During my internet search, I stumbled upon Oklahoma Judicial Process Servers (OJPS), and thank goodness I did so. John Keefe is very responsive, quick and efficient. I especially liked that he was responsive to my texts, as texting for me is the least intrusive mode of communication when I'm at work. The trial subpoenas were served well within the time frame guaranteed on their website, and the Affidavits of Service of Process were returned just as we had instructed, the original to local counsel in Oklahoma and a copy to us. We also fowarded checks made payable to OJPS and both witnesses, and everything went on without a hitch. It can be totally nerve-racking to send out checks in advance of the services to be rendered to a company you have never heard of in a city far far away. But trust me when I say that you can totally trust this service with your checks, and they will do a fantastic job to boot! Oh yeah - and did I mention that John is a really nice, hard-working guy who dots every "I" and crosses every "T." I was extremely pleased with the high level of professionalism rendered by OJPS and will definitely recommend them to our local counsel in Oklahoma. Given the previous reviews I expected better. I've now used Oklahoma Judicial Process Servers for two separate cases. The first case required two different services on the same person. The first service was acceptable, it took them a while to serve the documents, but they did get served and we did receive a Proof of Service. The second service we provided the address of the person to be served, the person to be served was expecting the service and was helpful in cooperating in the service, even giving directions to the service address. Unfortunately, we had to make multiple requests for service and status updates and for a return of service and it took ages to finally have the documents served and for us to receive the proof of service. We were charged over $400.00 in this case. The second case was even worse. The only reason we used Oklahoma Judicial Process Servers after the poor service received the first time is because our client insisted because she had already hired them as a private investigator to locate her husband. We were charged for service that was never made. They gave our mutual client a partial address for the defendant, which we had already found doing a FREE search on spokeo. They never provided a full accurate address to our client, and I have no idea how much or how little they charged her for that. We NEVER received a Proof of Service, Process Servers Return or even a Notice of Non-Service even after this was requested on several occasions and the hearings rescheduled several times and over the course of several months. They never provided the client an accurate address for the Defendant and I have no idea how much they charged her for that service. To top it off, they attempted to convince our client that the reason they had not served the documents on the defendant is because we had failed to contact them or cooperate with them! Luckily, we keep strict records of all letters and phone calls and could show the client that we had indeed attempted to communicate with them both via mail and telephone. I disliked it after the first case, but after the second, I will not use these process servers again even if my client desires to do so.

So I looked up some Oklahoma process servers, and Oklahoma Judicial Process Servers were 1 of the 3 we were looking at. I chose them b/c they had great reviews and the distance from their location to the Party that was being served, was about 15-20 minutes down the road. I spoke to Makayla, Thursday morning and informed her this is a Rush service. Emailed Citation and Service Information the same day with picture of party being served. Also gave our client's contact information for service assistance. Anyone that knows Family Law, when a client knows every detail of the person being served and is tracking her own husband, she's the best damn detective and will be your easiest service for you. I had my boss prepay the RUSH service as requested by Makayla. Friday morning, I contacted OJPS for status. No response. Friday Night, our client wants to halt service b/c he's no longer in OK. Saturday afternoon, i sent an email on my disappointment of their "RUSH" service. Sunday afternoon, OJPS' response was, my email of disappointment was HATEFUL and they were there "several times" and Respondent was not there. I requested an affidavit of service attempts. The rush service was requested on Thursday, July 25th. The FIRST attempt for this rush service was made on "Friday, July 26th at 8am". 2nd attempt made on "Sunday, July 28th at 743pm".????? If I requested service halt, Friday evening, July 26th at 1030pm, WHY would you attempt service SUNDAY, JULY 28TH at 743pm??? Especially, even after your email response of being hateful, on Sunday, July 28th at 4:44pm, WHY would you continue to attempt service?? This was a fluke RUSH process service. I requested a refund on behalf of my Firm and the person responding to my emails never responded to the Refund Request nor bothered to have a signature to their email. Never acknowledged our refund request, just slipped it under the rug as if this never happened. It is a shame that your non-service attempts lacked any honest attempt in our request. We are truly dissatisfied with the service provided and feel that your process server did not deserve payment rendered for services that did not begin until the next day. Our definitions of "rush" are widely misconstrued.
