I like this library a lot. The only little pet peeve I have is the short time on their computers, which is 1 hour and fifteen minutes. They also close their bathrooms a half hour early, which fails to make sense to me frankly. That's literally the only things, though. I like their staff (very helpful and sweet) their facilities are clean and well kept, and what you can't find at their library you can order from their website. This place is pretty much perfect. :)

I have been continually disappointed by this library. I have lived in a number of places and have never felt so unwelcome in a library even in larger public libraries or smaller ones. The staff when we first received our library cards seemed curt. My excitement about being there and checking out a book seemed to only cause annoyance. The policies only allow a limited number of items to be checked out for a fairly short period of time with a few renewals, luckily this has not been a problem yet. I am glad the library allows me access to other libraries because all of the other ones are preferable. When checking out books the librarians seem to typically be frustrated. The catalog is not organized in an intuitive way and finding a book can take some time. I also find the fact that they keep the video games behind the desk without any way to read the titles or be able to browse off putting. It seems like they do not want you to use any of the materials they have. The other factor that makes this library inaccessible is the parking. They have a very limited number of free spots and they are so close together it is hard to navigate, the spots seem minuscule for the size of the library itself and do not make traveling there enjoyable but rather a more stressful experience.

Smells like poop in arts room. More outlets were on the Mayflower.

I have been to many libraries all around New Hampshire, but honestly this is the worst one out of all of them. I went in with my little brother, because he needed a book for his summer reading. I went in and was observing the books the had on display. But while I was doing that, a young girl was talking to one of the the front desk lady. She just had some questions and left. After, I could hear all the other workers making fun and talking about her. She’s a little kid. I finally found the book my little brother needed. So I walked up to the front desk and tried to take out the book. I had a card already, so I gave her my card. This woman threaten to take away the card because I wasn’t the mother. She was so rude to my little brother. So I will gladly say that I will never be returning to this library ever again.

Good place to be

Beautiful architecture, clean, free WiFi, limited internet use, book selection is the normal variety, the one bathroom situation is ridiculous, and always has a line. As stated before this is the place where the city's vagabonds come to do their collective business, fear for my children being here, sometimes. I have never had staff he rude to myself or children but have heard stories. The copy machine has stolen my change before, so bring extra.

A Queen City History Tour is not compete without a trip to the Manchester City Library to see the architecture of the dome, browse the ~century old cast book stacks, visit the music room, basement theater with a movie list on the door. and a book collection of Robert Frost's Poems. They even hosted a visit form "Growing with Google 2019," (GwG) here are few photos.

I've never come across a more rude, snooty, condescending librarian. Bonus points: I was only there to make a delivery.

It has lots of activities for children and plenty of stuff for everyone to do. The staff are wonderful!

The secarity guard is really rude there is a perfianal way to greet someone and a rude way she was rude when she came up and talked to me and my sister we were quiet and everything she rude to every one she kicks people out by thay way thay look or dressed i am disappointed

The collection is a bit limited, they close early half the week and on Sunday, and all the worthless denizens of Manchester come here because they would rather spend money on heroin, cigarettes, and tattoos than internet access at home. Only one bathroom that frequently has a line. This is a city library for 112,000 and it's closed Sunday? What a joke. On the bright side, it's a lovely old building and the staff are nice usually. And there's free WiFi.

Historic library with tons of book selections, a separate level for children, and a whole level dedicated to the arts. It's clean, and the staff is friendly.

I recently was there and rented a ton of art books. They have a separate section for arts on the upper floor and a small collection of art as well. Unfortunately, some of the staff are judgemental and also stereotypical - I was watched often and had been chased after by a security guard thinking I stole the books I rented and I have never even gotten in any trouble with the library. Makes me not want to go often.

The person on the information was unmotivated, to say the least. I am senior gentleman and am embarking on a project that needs a lot of research. I hoped to pick the brain of the information staff member. However, she could not deign to rise from her seat to address me and we conducted our conversation from a range of about 10 feet - very awkward. I felt I was going to pose a challenging research question, but saw immediately there was not the same enthusiasm. I went to the Philbrick-James library in Deerfield, and not only did I have an hour-long conversation with the staff there, they called me at home with more information the day after. A very different experience. EDIT: I have revised my review to 5 stars. I was contacted by the library and given stellar service. Perhaps I caught them on a bad day.

The female security guard is always accusing me of doing things I'm obviously not doing. She is never inside doing any sort security rather sits outside watching people in the park. She actually asked the person behind me if the bag on my back is theirs. No it's mine it is on my back. I understand needing to be assertive because of others though that does not mean she needs to be demeaning to everyone. It is a public library not a jail house.

Greta Green

The people are always helpful!

Revvy Phennex

Judging by the rude staff reviews, it doesn't surprise me that they are also racist. Good job on getting a homeless black man tazed and arrested for no reason other than you didn't want him there.
