My boyfriend went through HR Block for his taxes and we were less then impressed. Our tax lady said he couldn’t claim me and I looked it up he should have been able to, I haven’t had a job sense November 2017. He has definitely paid for more then 50% of my living expenses. She was also rude and laughed at us when we said he didn’t have insurance and wanted to claim fincial hardship. She said that was for homeless people... even after we told her we were homeless for a period she told us we needed to prove it. I’m not sure how you prove that except it’s already embarrassing enough so I’m not sure why someone would lie about that. We were also told by my midwife to ask about paying cash for my daughters birth as we could qualify for another break, she wouldn’t even listen when I tried to tell her about that. I also called and asked three times if the advance (not the first one you offered) the 0% interest one was based off credit and was told no three times. Well at the very end it turned out it was based on credit we paid $300 to get $500 in advance not worth it we agreed. She said oh we text you all the information we never received a text we just called the card in after a couple of hours to see how it worked out. Just disappointed I’ll be doing our taxes next year, as an adult family member said off the free HR Block site they didn’t have to submit any proof of finical hardship for having no insurance. Many older folks I’ve told this story to asked why we didn’t just get up and walk out, I guess we are young and overly tolerant. We won’t be back.
